₹143.33
your ₹140.00 plus the finishing a catalogue can price · label, box and insert still to add · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What is my true finished-product cost? It is your ₹140.00 of direct materials, plus ₹3.33 of finishing that can be priced from a live catalogue — a candle care sticker at ₹0.83 and a wick sticker at ₹2.50 — which is ₹143.33, plus your own label, box, insert, ribbon and outbound courier. Those last five are real costs and this page deliberately leaves them blank.

Is the lid a separate line in my cost? Usually not. On this store a lid is sold attached to a vessel, not on its own: the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar is ₹212.40 at the 500 gm size including its dome lid, and the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid is ₹94.40 a piece with the lid on it. If your ₹140.00 already counted the vessel, the lid is already in it. Adding a lid line again is the most common double count in a finished-goods bill.

Why will you not tell me what a label or a box costs? Because your label is your artwork at your print run, and a number invented here would travel straight into your selling price. What this page can do is fix the arithmetic around it: your catalogue total is ₹143.33, and every ₹10.00 your own costs add is another 7.14% on top of your ₹140.00.

How much does finishing actually add to ₹140.00? On the two lines a catalogue can price, ₹3.33, or 2.38%. That is small, and it is meant to be — it is the part of the bill nobody argues about. The uplift you cannot see from here is your tier three, which on most Indian D2C candles is larger than both of these lines together.
The short answer
₹143.33 from the catalogue: your ₹140.00 of direct materials plus ₹0.83 for a candle care sticker and ₹2.50 for a wick sticker, at live CSI pricing in September 2026.
The lid is not a new line: CSI sells lids attached to vessels — the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar at ₹212.40 includes its dome lid — so if your ₹140.00 counted the jar, it counted the lid.
Label, box, insert, ribbon, courier: named rows with nothing in them. Fill them from your own invoices and total the sheet as catalogue materials plus your own costs. Every ₹10.00 you add there is 7.14% of your ₹140.00.
Three tiers of a finished-candle bill: the reader’s ₹140.00 of direct materials, ₹3.33 of CSI-priced finishing, and an open tier of the maker’s own costs that carries no number From materials to finished goodsThree tiers, drawn on one rupee scale. Only two of them have numbers, and this page will not invent one for the third.Tier 1 · Direct raw materials — your figure₹140.00Wax, fragrance, vessel, wick. Given in your question, used as given.Tier 2 · Finishing CSI sells — live prices₹3.33Care sticker ₹0.83 + wick sticker ₹2.50. Same scale as the bar above.Tier 3 · Label, box, insert, ribbon, courier — your figureno numberDrawn open because its width is yours, not ours. Fill it from yourown invoices, then add it to the two bars above.Tiers 1 + 2 = ₹143.33 a candleThat is the whole of what a supplier catalogue can tell you.Your finished-product cost is that figure plus tier 3.CSI prices live, September 2026. Bars to scale; tier 3 is not.
What it shows: the same candle in three tiers on one rupee scale — your ₹140.00 of direct materials, the ₹3.33 of finishing that a live catalogue can price, and a third tier drawn open because its width belongs to you. Deliberately left out: any number at all in tier three. Label, box, insert, ribbon, outbound courier, gateway fees, packing labour and electricity are real and are not drawn, because a figure invented here would end up inside somebody’s selling price.
Straight answer
How do I turn ₹140.00 of raw materials into a finished-product cost I can price from?
Split the bill into three tiers and be honest about which tier each line belongs to. Tier one is your ₹140.00, the direct raw materials — wax, fragrance, vessel, wick. That is your figure, given in your question, and this page uses it exactly as written and never treats it as a CSI price. Tier two is finishing that a live catalogue can price, and on this store that is two lines: a candle care sticker at ₹0.83 from the 500 roll, and a wick sticker at ₹2.50 from the sheet of 40. Together they are ₹3.33, which takes your candle to ₹143.33. Tier three is your printed label, your outer box, your insert, your ribbon, your outbound courier, your gateway fee, your packing time and your electricity. Those are real, they are usually larger than tier two, and not one of them gets a number on this page — CSI does not price them for you, and a borrowed figure in a cost sheet is worse than an empty row, because an empty row gets filled and a borrowed one gets trusted. Two other things are worth settling before you total anything. The lid is almost never a separate line: on this store lids come attached to vessels, so the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar at ₹212.40 and the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid at ₹94.40 already contain theirs, and if your ₹140.00 counted the vessel it counted the lid too. And delivery to you is not free: ten Apothecary jars ordered one at a time are ₹1,100.00 of Standard Shipping against ₹800.00 in one parcel, a difference of ₹300.00, or ₹30.00 a jar, on the published September 2026 bands. Total the sheet as catalogue materials plus your own costs, keep the two halves visible, and never let the second half reach zero by default.
One line: ₹143.33 from the catalogue, your label and box on top, and a lid you have probably already paid for.
₹143.33 a candle, and only two of those lines are ours to price. Your ₹140.00 of direct materials, plus Candle Care Stickers Roll at ₹0.83 a sticker (₹413.00 for 500) and Candle Wick Stickers at ₹2.50 each (₹100.00 for 40). Live CSI pricing, September 2026, taxes included.

Three tiers, and which of your lines sits where

A finished candle has a cost. A catalogue can only tell you part of it, and it should say which part.

Your question contains the whole problem in one sentence. You have a solid figure — ₹140.00 in direct raw materials — and a list of things that are obviously costs but that no supplier price list answers: labels, lids, boxes, inserts. The instinct is to find a number for each and add them up. The better move is to sort them first, because two of those four are not what you think they are.

Sort every line into three tiers. Tier one is direct raw materials: what physically becomes the candle. Wax, fragrance oil, the vessel, the wick. Your ₹140.00 is this tier, and this page uses it exactly as you wrote it. Tier two is finishing a catalogue can price: things a supplier stocks as a product with a live price and a countable unit. Tier three is everything else: your printed label, your box, your insert, your ribbon, the courier that takes the finished candle to your customer, the gateway that takes its cut, your packing time, your electricity.

The reason this sort matters is not tidiness. It is that tiers one and two can be checked by anyone with the product links, and tier three cannot be checked by anybody except you. Mixing them produces a number that looks authoritative and is partly invented, which is the single most expensive habit in small-batch candle costing. Keep the two halves visible on the same sheet and the sheet stays honest even when the figures change.

The CSI principle
Every line on a cost sheet belongs to somebody. Say who.
Your ₹140.00 is yours. The ₹3.33 of finishing is a catalogue’s. The label and the box are yours again, and they stay empty until you fill them.

The lid line, and the double count hiding in it

Most makers pay for the lid twice on paper and once in real life.

Look at how lids are actually sold. The Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid is ₹212.40 at the 500 gm size and ₹250.00 at the 700 gm size — a step of ₹37.60 between them — and the dome lid is in both prices. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid works out at ₹94.40 a piece in the 10 pack, lid included. That is how vessels are listed on this store, and it is why the lid is nearly always tier one rather than a line of its own.

So the question to ask yourself is not what a lid costs. It is what is inside your ₹140.00. If that figure was built from a lidded vessel, adding a lid row underneath it charges the same piece of metal or glass twice, and the error compounds every time you scale the sheet. If your ₹140.00 was built from a bare jar and you genuinely buy a lid separately, then it is your own line and it goes in tier three as a blank, because a standalone lid is not something you can price from this catalogue.

Adding a lid row on top of a lidded jar. A jar bought as Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid at ₹212.40 has one price and two parts. Pull that price into tier one and then add an estimated lid underneath it and your candle carries a cost it never paid. Across a hundred candles a wrong lid row of even twenty rupees is two thousand rupees of imaginary cost, and imaginary cost is how a healthy product gets discontinued. Open your ₹140.00, write down what the vessel line was, and check whether it already says “with lid”.
Costing the lid you photograph rather than the lid you ship. Makers often shoot a candle with a wooden or dome lid for the listing photograph, then ship most orders with a plain top or none at all. Two different products are being costed as one. Decide which lid ships with which SKU, write it on the SKU line, and let the photograph be a photograph. One customer review on this store notes that a tin lid can be difficult to open once a candle is set — a lid is a functional decision as well as a cost line, and it is worth testing both before you commit a purchase order.
THE ONE-MINUTE AUDIT
Take your ₹140.00 and write its four parts on one line: wax, fragrance, vessel, wick. If the four do not add to ₹140.00, the gap is something you have already folded in and forgotten — very often the lid, sometimes the wick sticker. Finding that gap now is worth more than any figure on this page, because every later calculation multiplies it.

The finishing lines a catalogue can actually price

Two lines, both small, both countable, both worth writing down properly.

A candle care sticker is the safety and care roundel that goes on the base or the lid. CSI sells it as a roll: ₹413.00 for 500 stickers at 1 inch, which is ₹0.83 a candle, and ₹699.00 for 1,000 stickers at 1.5 inch, which is ₹0.70. The larger roll is ₹0.13 a sticker less, or ₹127.00 across a thousand candles. Read that honestly before you switch: the two rolls are different sticker sizes, 1 inch against 1.5 inch, so it is not a like-for-like swap. Choose the diameter your base can take, then let the rate follow.

A wick sticker is the adhesive disc that holds the wick tab to the base of the vessel. CSI sells a sheet of 40 for ₹100.00, which is ₹2.50 a candle, and a larger 2 mm version 40 for ₹249.00, which is ₹6.23 — ₹3.73 more a candle. Whether that step is worth paying is a wide-vessel question rather than a costing one: a bigger disc holds a heavier tab against a wider base. Test it in your own jar before you decide, because at ₹147.05 against ₹143.33 the difference is real money at volume and nothing at all on one candle.

Large wick sticker, 2 mm 40 stickers ₹249.00 ₹6.23 ₹622.50
Tier two as costed on this page care sticker + wick sticker — ₹3.33 ₹332.60
Priced above: Candle Care Stickers Roll 500 (1 inch) ₹413.00, 1,000 (1.5 inch) ₹699.00; Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹100.00; Large Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹249.00. Live CSI pricing, September 2026, taxes included. The two rolls are different sticker diameters and are not interchangeable.

Two more finishing items on this store are real costs and genuinely cannot be reduced to a per-candle figure here. Isopropyl Alcohol Spray is ₹383.00 for 150 ML and ₹520.00 for 1 Litre, and it is what you wipe a jar with before a label goes on; how many jars a bottle wipes is not published, so it is a batch cost you divide by your own count rather than a unit cost anyone can hand you. Candle Liquid Shiner is ₹1,150.00 for 500 ML and behaves the same way. Put both in your sheet as batch costs with your own divisor written beside them, and they stop being invisible without becoming invented.

A blank row you can see beats a number you cannot check.

The rows that stay blank, and why that is the useful part

An empty row gets filled. A borrowed row gets trusted. Only one of those ends well.

Here is the worksheet for tier three. Every row is named, none of them has a figure, and that is deliberate. A supplier can tell you what a wick sticker costs because it sells wick stickers. It cannot tell you what your label costs, because your label is your artwork, your paper, your finish and your print run, and the per-unit price of the same design moves by a multiple between a hundred and five thousand copies. The same is true of the box, which is sized to your vessel, and the insert, which is sized to the box.

Tier three · your figures
Costs this page names and will not fill in
Line Why it is blank Your figure
Printed label or sticker for the front Depends on your artwork, print run and printer — a 100-label run and a 5,000-label run are not the same rupee —
Outer box or mailer Sized to your vessel, and the size decides the price —
Insert, void fill, tissue or crinkle paper Depends on the box you chose above —
Ribbon, tag, wax seal, gift wrap A design decision with a different cost per SKU —
Courier to your own customer CSI publishes rates for delivering to you, not for your outbound parcels —
Payment gateway or marketplace fee A percentage of your selling price, which this page does not set —
Packing labour, per candle Yours, and the line most makers leave at zero —
Electricity, melting time, rent, storage Not a per-candle cost until you divide it by a real month of output —
Breakage in transit, as an allowance An assumption you set after a month of shipping, not a figure to borrow —
Subtotal — your own costs Add your rows above —
Materials and finishing from the catalogue Your ₹140.00 plus the two CSI lines ₹143.33
Priced above: only the ₹143.33 catalogue line, which is your ₹140.00 of direct materials plus candle care sticker ₹0.83 and wick sticker ₹2.50 at live CSI pricing, September 2026. Every other row is empty on purpose. Do not write a typical figure into one — not even a conservative one, because a conservative guess in a cost sheet is still a guess in a price.

What you can do without a single invented number is size the gap. Your catalogue total is ₹143.33. Every ₹10.00 of tier three adds 7.14% on top of your original ₹140.00. So when you finally collect your label quote, your box quote and your courier average, you will not need this page to tell you whether the answer is serious — you divide your tier three total by ₹143.33 and read the percentage. On most Indian D2C candles sold in a printed box with a ribbon, that percentage surprises people the first time they calculate it properly.

Leaving outbound courier at zero because the customer pays it. They pay it on the invoice and you pay it in the conversion rate, and on marketplace orders you often pay it directly. The line is not zero just because it is collected elsewhere. Put it in tier three, fill it with your own average from a month of real dispatches, and label it clearly as an average rather than a rate — it is the row most likely to be wrong by a large margin on a small sample.
Treating delivery to you as free because it is not in the cost sheet. It is neither free nor small on small orders. The 500 gm Apothecary Glass Candle Jar stores a packed weight of 1 kg, and the cheapest published band covering that weight is ₹110.00 on Standard Shipping. Order ten of them one at a time and that is ₹1,100.00; order the ten together and the parcel bills at ₹800.00, a difference of ₹300.00 or ₹30.00 a jar. Two customer reviews on this store say plainly that delivery charges feel high, and consolidating your order is the honest answer to that rather than pretending the cost is not there. Rates are the published flat bands as at September 2026 and can change.

Building the sheet, line by line

Four passes. The third one is the one nobody does.
1
1. Break your ₹140.00 into its four partsWrite wax, fragrance, vessel and wick on four lines and make them add to ₹140.00. If they do not, you have folded something in — usually the lid, sometimes the wick sticker. Do this before anything else, because every later step multiplies whatever is wrong here.
2
2. Add only what has a live product pageTier two goes in next, with a link beside each row. On this page that is candle care sticker at ₹0.83 and wick sticker at ₹2.50, taking the sheet to ₹143.33. If a row has no product page and no price, it does not belong in this section — move it down.
3
3. Name every tier-three row and leave it emptyLabel, box, insert, ribbon, outbound courier, gateway fee, packing labour, electricity, breakage allowance. Type the names now and the figures later. The act of naming them is what stops them disappearing, and a sheet with nine named blanks is more truthful than a sheet with nine confident guesses.
4
4. Total twice, and keep both totals on the pageOne total for catalogue materials and finishing — ₹143.33, or ₹14,332.60 across a hundred candles. One total for your own costs. Price against the sum, but review the two separately, because they change for completely different reasons: the first moves when a supplier reprices, the second moves when you change your packaging or your courier.

One refinement worth adding once the sheet works. Tier three splits naturally into costs that scale with every candle (label, box, insert, ribbon, courier) and costs that scale with a batch or a month (electricity, rent, your packing hours). Keep them in two groups inside tier three rather than one list. The per-candle group belongs in your unit cost. The per-month group belongs in a monthly figure you divide by real output, and dividing it by a hopeful output rather than a real one is the second most common costing error after the lid.

Two totals, and the one you should quote

A supplier can certify half your cost sheet. Say which half, out loud, every time.

The finished sheet has two totals and they do different jobs. Catalogue materials and finishing: ₹143.33. Every rupee of it is checkable — your ₹140.00 against your own invoices, and ₹3.33 against two live product pages. This is the number you can put in front of a co-founder, an accountant or a wholesale buyer and defend line by line. Your own costs: your figure. Only you can produce it, and it deserves the same discipline as the first half — dated quotes, a pack size, a per-unit rate written down.

The finished-goods bill · both halves
What each half contains and who can check it
Half Contains Per candle Per 100 Who can check it
Direct raw materials Wax, fragrance, vessel, wick ₹140.00 ₹14,000.00 You, against your invoices
Finishing from the catalogue Care sticker ₹0.83 + wick sticker ₹2.50 ₹3.33 ₹332.60 Anyone, from the product pages
Catalogue subtotal The two rows above ₹143.33 ₹14,332.60 Fully checkable
Your own costs Label, box, insert, ribbon, courier, fees, labour, power — — Only you
Finished-product cost Both halves added ₹143.33 + your figure — You, with half of it evidenced
Priced above: your ₹140.00 of direct materials, used exactly as given and not a CSI price; Candle Care Stickers Roll 500 for ₹413.00 (₹0.83 each); Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹100.00 (₹2.50 each). Live CSI pricing, September 2026, taxes included. The two tier-three rows are blank in the source sheet as well as on this page.

When you quote a cost to somebody else — a stockist asking for your wholesale price, a partner asking whether a hamper is viable — quote the sum, then say what is in it. “₹143.33 of materials and finishing, plus our own packaging and dispatch” is a sentence that survives scrutiny. “About one fifty” does not, and it is how makers end up agreeing a wholesale price that loses money on every unit of a large order.

A last discipline: stamp the sheet. Write the pricing month on it — these CSI figures are September 2026 — write the pack size each rate came from, and write the date you last checked. A cost sheet with no date is a cost sheet nobody dares update, and the linked product pages are always authoritative if a price has moved since.

IF YOU ONLY CHANGE ONE THING
Add a column to your sheet called source and fill it with either a product link or the word mine. Nothing else on this page will improve a cost sheet as quickly. Six months later, when a price has moved and you cannot remember where ₹0.83 came from, the column answers it in one glance — and any row still marked mine with an empty figure beside it is a job you have not done yet.
Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA sells wax, fragrance oil, vessels, wicks and a small number of finishing items, and this page still tells you that most of what turns your candle into a finished product is not ours to price. It also tells you that the lid you were about to add as a cost line is very probably already inside the vessel price you counted, which removes a line from your sheet rather than adding one, and that the two finishing lines we do sell come to ₹3.33 a candle — small enough that no costing decision should turn on them.

Every CSI price here is live stock in September 2026, taxes included, and the linked product pages are authoritative if anything changes. The ₹140.00 is your own figure, used exactly as given and never presented as a CSI price; this page does not know how it splits between wax, fragrance, vessel and wick, which is why the first step asks you to write that split down. The two candle care sticker rolls are different sticker diameters, 1 inch and 1.5 inch, so the rate difference between them is not a like-for-like comparison. Shipping figures are the published flat rate bands by weight as at September 2026, quoted only for the product whose stored packed weight is named. Labels, boxes, inserts, ribbon, outbound courier, gateway fees, packing labour, electricity and rent are left blank throughout, and no typical figure is offered for any of them.

Message WhatsApp +91 7397976926 for bulk pricing, pack availability, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, or to check which finishing items are in stock before you build a sheet around them.

Frequently asked questions

Does ₹143.33 mean I can price my candle from it?
No — it is the checkable half of your cost, not the whole of it. ₹143.33 is your ₹140.00 of direct materials plus ₹3.33 of finishing with live product pages behind it. Your label, box, insert, ribbon, outbound courier, gateway fee and packing time all sit on top and this page does not guess them. Price from the sum of both halves, and keep the halves visible so you can see which one moved when the total does.
Why does CSI not just tell me what a label costs?
Because there is no honest single answer. The same label design costs a different amount per unit at 100 copies and at 5,000, on matte paper and on textured stock, with a die cut and without. A figure quoted here would be wrong for almost everyone and would travel straight into somebody’s selling price. What this page gives instead is the arithmetic around it: your catalogue subtotal is ₹143.33, and every ₹10.00 of your own costs is 7.14% of your ₹140.00.
Can I buy a lid on its own?
Not as a separate line on this store — lids are sold attached to their vessels. The Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid is ₹212.40 at 500 gm with the dome lid included, and the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid is ₹94.40 a piece in the 10 pack with its lid. If you need a lid without a jar, that becomes one of your own tier-three rows. Ask on WhatsApp before you assume either way.
Is the bigger candle care sticker roll worth buying?
Only if the 1.5 inch diameter suits your base. The 1,000 roll works out at ₹0.70 a sticker against ₹0.83 for the 500 roll at 1 inch, a difference of ₹0.13 a candle or ₹127.00 across a thousand. That is real but it is not a reason to put a sticker on a base it does not fit. Choose the diameter first and take the rate that comes with it — your candle at the 1,000 roll rate would be ₹143.20 rather than ₹143.33.
Where do wastage and breakage go in this sheet?
In tier three, as named blanks. Both are assumptions rather than measurements until you have run a real month: wax left in the jug, a jar chipped on the bench, a candle broken in transit. This page assumes none of them, which means ₹143.33 is a floor and your real figure sits above it. Set your own percentage after a month of production and write beside it that it is an assumption, so the next person reading the sheet does not mistake it for measured data.
How do I handle GST when some of my suppliers quote inclusive and some do not?
Put every line on one basis before you add anything, and say at the top of the sheet which basis you chose. CSI store prices are inclusive of applicable taxes, as stated on the product pages, and GST invoicing is available on request. Beyond that, your own tax position is a question for your accountant — this page does no tax arithmetic and gives no tax advice. What it does insist on is consistency: a sheet that mixes inclusive and exclusive lines produces a cost that is wrong by a percentage nobody can spot later.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. The method — sort every cost line into direct materials, finishing a catalogue can price, and costs only you can price; check whether the lid is already inside the vessel line; name every remaining row and leave it empty until you have a real quote; total the sheet twice — works with any supplier, any vessel and any currency.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me. One longer review is shortened with an ellipsis; wording is otherwise unedited. One is below five stars and three are not recorded as a verified purchase — shown as recorded. Not recorded by Judge.me as a verified purchase, so shown without a verified-buyer badge: Ashwini, LJ, Sunita Gupta. No location is shown against any review because Judge.me does not store one.

Figures verified September 2026 (CSI live pricing). The reader’s figure, used exactly as given in the question and never presented as a CSI price: ₹140.00 of direct raw materials per candle. This page does not know how that figure splits between wax, fragrance, vessel and wick, and says so. Live CSI prices, September 2026, taxes included. Finishing: Candle Care Stickers Roll 500 at 1 inch ₹413.00 (₹0.83 each), 1,000 at 1.5 inch ₹699.00 (₹0.70 each) — the two rolls are different sticker diameters and are not a like-for-like comparison; Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹100.00 (₹2.50 each); Large Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹249.00 (₹6.23 each); Isopropyl Alcohol Spray 150 ML ₹383.00, 1 Litre ₹520.00; Candle Liquid Shiner 500 ML ₹1,150.00 — neither of the last two publishes a coverage figure, so neither is reduced to a per-candle rate here. Vessels with lids included: Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid 500 gm ₹212.40, 700 gm ₹250.00; Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 10 for ₹944.00 (₹94.40 each). Wick: Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹5.90 each at the 100 pack. Shipping: the 500 gm Apothecary jar stores a packed weight of 1 kg; the cheapest published band covering that weight is ₹110.00 on Standard Shipping and ten of them consolidated into one 10 kg parcel bill at ₹800.00, both as published in September 2026. No fill capacity is claimed for any vessel on this page and no candle is stated to fit any jar. Left blank on purpose and never estimated: printed labels, outer boxes, mailers, inserts and void fill, ribbon and tags, courier to your own customer, payment gateway and marketplace fees, packing labour, electricity, rent, storage and breakage allowances. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
