Read the table by candle type, not top to bottom. A pillar maker is not choosing between ₹2.83 and ₹42.48; a premium brand is not choosing wooden over C1 to save money. The useful comparisons sit inside a job. For wide jars: ₹12 ready-made against Eco Braided at about ₹9.95 a 12 cm wick, a ₹2.05 gap that buys pre-cutting and a stated size. For premium lines: ₹42.48 wooden against ₹12 cotton braided, a ₹30.48 gap that buys the look and the crackle. Those are the decisions a professional range actually makes. What is the best candle wick to buy in bulk in India?
It depends on the candle. For soy container ranges, CSI's best all-round bulk pick is Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 and Thick (C2) at ₹9.44 a wick, flat-priced to 1,000-packs. For jars over 8 cm, Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made (₹12); for pillars, the 61 m braided roll (₹706.82); for 2 inch vessels, Eco Candle Wicks Loose; for premium lines, Performance Wooden Wicks (₹41.30 in 100s). Confirm any pick by burn test first.
Which wick is best for soy wax container candles?
Start with Eco Candle Wicks, whose page says they "pair perfectly with soy wax, beeswax, and other eco-friendly waxes". Test Thin (C1) against Thick (C2) in each jar, burn both to the base after a full cure, and keep the one that reaches the glass cleanly without soot or mushrooming. No diameter guidance is stated, so the test decides. For jars wider than 8 cm, add Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made to the test.
What is the best wick for large candle jars?
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made are the only pre-cut CSI wick stated for candles exceeding 8 cm in diameter, at ₹12 each with a 10.16 cm height. Test them against Eco Braided Wicks, described for large-diameter container jars and cut to any length. That makes Eco Braided the better candidate when the jar is taller than a 10.16 cm wick can serve. Very wide jars may need two wicks, which doubles the wick cost.
Are wooden wicks better than cotton wicks for professional candles?
Not better, different. Wooden wicks change the look and sound of the candle, and the product page describes a "gentle crackling sound". They cost more: ₹41.30 a wick in 100s against ₹5.90 to ₹12 for CSI's cotton-type wicks, and CSI lists one wooden size with no stated jar sizing. Professionals often keep wooden wicks for a premium hero line in larger jars, where a premium of ₹29.30 to ₹35.40 a wick is a smaller share of the candle's cost.
What is the best wick for pillar candles?
For moulded pillars, a wick you can cut longer than the candle and thread through the mould base. CSI's pick is the Braided Wick Roll with 100 wick tabs: ₹706.82 for 61 m, about ₹1.85 of braid per 16 cm wick and around 381 wicks per roll. Thread with a wicking needle (₹472) and seal the base. Test two cut lengths in your mould before a full run.
How do I choose between two wicks before a bulk order?
Run an elimination burn. Pour three candles per candidate from one recipe, cure fully, and burn them side by side to the base. Score time to a full pool, flame steadiness, soot, carbon on the wick and tunnelling. The candidate that passes at every depth wins the vessel. Write it into the recipe, then buy it in the pack your forecast supports — on CSI's flat-priced wicks, a bigger pack never lowers the per-wick price.
