Best Candle Wax Supplier for Commercial Candle Production in India
Aktie
How does CSI score? 20 out of 30 on our own evidence: range 4, specifications 3, pack ladder 3, bulk channel 3, documentation 3, consumables 4.
Where does CSI fall short? Only 3 of 14 listed waxes publish both a fragrance load and temperatures; no 25 kg or 100 kg soy pack is listed; paraffin, gel and two coconut waxes stop at 1 kg; and bulk prices are quoted, not published.
Where is it strong? Soy, coconut-soy, pillar, paraffin, beeswax and gel from one supplier, six waxes listed at 10 kg or more, and wicks, jars, moulds, fragrance oils and melters on the same order.
Why "best supplier" needs a scoresheet, not a list
Commercial production changes what "good" means in a wax supplier. A hobbyist wants a nice kilo. A production buyer wants the same wax, described by the same numbers, in pack sizes that match the melter, restocked without surprises, with the paperwork a retailer or marketplace will ask for. None of that shows up in a "top suppliers" list. It shows up on product pages, in pack variants and in how a quote request is answered.
The sheet below turns those into six criteria, each scored 0–5 against anchors you can verify. Score only the waxes you will buy; a supplier with forty waxes you don't use is not better than one with the three you do.
| Criterion | 5 looks like | 3 looks like | 1 looks like | Evidence to collect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Wax range | Every family you might need (container soy, coconut-soy, pillar, paraffin, beeswax, gel) plus additives, all available | Two or three families | One wax | The wax collection; availability of each variant |
| 2 · Published specifications | Every production wax states load, melt/pour and add temperatures, consistently | The main container waxes state load and temperatures; others don't | No numbers anywhere | Each product page, quoted exactly |
| 3 · Pack ladder | Trial pack to 25 kg-plus on every production wax, with clear per-kg behaviour | Trial to 10 kg on the main waxes; small packs only on others | Retail packs only | Variant list and price per kg at each rung |
| 4 · Bulk channel | Published volume tiers plus a named quote channel and GST invoicing | A quote channel and GST invoicing; listed prices mostly flat | No route above cart quantities | A real quote request and how it is answered |
| 5 · Documentation | Spec information and safety documents downloadable per product, plus GST invoice | Documents available on request; partial specs online | Invoice only | Ask for MSDS for a named product |
| 6 · One-stop consumables | Wicks, vessels, moulds, fragrance, dyes and production equipment, in production pack sizes | Wax plus a few consumables | Wax only | Collections, largest packs, what is not listed |
CSI scored against the framework, gaps named
Here is the same sheet applied to CSI using only evidence you can check on the store: product pages, pack variants and the stated service route. Where a score is not a 5, the gap column says exactly why.
| Criterion | Score | Evidence | Gap named |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Wax range | 4 | 14 of 15 listed waxes available: soy container (Luxury Soy Chunks, CSI 464, Eco Soy CSI 400, Natural Soy Pearl), coconut-soy (CSI 468, Premium Coconut Soy Wax, Coconut Wax), Soy Pillar Wax, two paraffins, beeswax, gel, Soy Butter Wax, microcrystalline; plus Vybar and stearic acid | Soy Wax 464 Pellets sold out; beeswax listed in Yellow only; no UV inhibitor listed |
| 2 · Published specifications | 3 | Load and temperatures stated on Luxury Soy Chunks, CSI 464 and CSI 468; partial numbers on Eco Soy CSI 400, semi-refined paraffin and microcrystalline | 8 of 14 waxes state no numeric load or temperature, including the only pillar wax; CSI 464's melt and pour are both stated 80–90°C; Chunks give two pour ranges |
| 3 · Pack ladder | 3 | 500 g or 1 kg to 10 kg on Chunks, CSI 464, CSI 468, Soy Pillar Wax and beeswax; Natural Soy Pearl to 50 kg | No 25 kg or 100 kg pack; Eco Soy CSI 400 stops at 5 kg; paraffin, gel, Premium Coconut Soy Wax, Coconut Wax and Soy Butter Wax stop at 1 kg |
| 4 · Bulk channel | 3 | Bulk pricing and GST invoicing on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926); listed per-kg steps on CSI 468 and Natural Soy Pearl | No published volume tiers; most listed prices are flat per kg; quotes are not published |
| 5 · Documentation | 3 | MSDS and IFRA documentation for fragrance oils available on request via WhatsApp; stated specs on the key container waxes | Documents are not downloadable from product pages; ask per product |
| 6 · One-stop consumables | 4 | Wicks (packs to 1,000), jars and tins (packs to 100), moulds including multi-cavity, liquid dyes and chips, fragrance oils from 15 g to 1 kg, electric wax melters of 10 kg and 20 kg capacity, a 4-nozzle pouring funnel | No candle-making machines; no wick described as pre-tabbed; fragrance oils stop at 1 kg; dyes stop at 100 ml / 100 g |
| Total | 20 / 30 | Strong on breadth; a production buyer does extra work on specifications for non-container waxes, on packs above 10 kg, and on quotes and documents | |
One thing the sheet deliberately does not score is logistics — delivery charges and delivery time depend on your pincode and order, and we don't publish figures for either. Published CSI reviews are mixed on this: some customers praise secure packing and on-time delivery, and others ask for lower delivery charges or quicker timelines. Ask for a pincode-specific answer in your quote request and score it yourself.
Criterion 2 up close: published specifications
For commercial production, specifications are not decoration. A stated fragrance load sets your recipe ceiling; a stated pour temperature sets your process; both let a second person on your team repeat the first person's candle. The table shows exactly what each available CSI wax publishes.
| Wax | Stated load | Stated temperatures | Specification level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | 8–13%, 10% recommended | Add 80–90°C · pour 70–80°C (75–80°C in its table) | Full |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | Up to 10% | Melt and pour both stated 80–90°C | Full |
| Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 | Up to 13% | Melt 50–53°C · pour 58–60°C | Full |
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | Not stated | Add fragrance 80–90°C (85°C), stir 2 minutes | Partial |
| Semi Refined Paraffin Wax | Not stated | Melting point 80–90°C · oil content 6–10% | Partial |
| Microcrystalline Wax | Usage 1–10% (3–7% pillars) | "High (varies by batch)" | Partial |
| Natural Soy Pearl · Soy Pillar Wax · Beeswax · Premium Coconut Soy Wax · Coconut Wax · Fully Refined Paraffin · Gel Wax · Soy Butter Wax | Not stated | Not stated (fully refined paraffin: "low melting point", no figure) | None |
Two conclusions for a production buyer. First, if your line is container candles, the three fully specified waxes cover volume (CSI 464), fragrance headroom (Luxury Soy Chunks) and premium coconut-soy (CSI 468), so for your line criterion 2 is closer to a 4. Second, if your line depends on Soy Pillar Wax, Natural Soy Pearl or beeswax, build a qualification step into your plan: one kilo, a controlled test, and your own recipe card before any 10 kg order.
Criterion 3 up close: the pack ladder
A good pack ladder lets you test on the same wax you will produce with, step up without re-qualifying, and buy production volume in bags your melter can use. The table counts the rungs on each CSI wax and shows whether the price per kilo moves.
| Wax | Listed rungs | Top rung | Price per kg behaviour | Wax per 200 g candle @ 8% at top rung |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Natural Soy Pearl Wax | 1 kg · 5 kg · 10 kg · 50 kg | 50 kg ₹21,240 | ₹450 → ₹424.80 from 5 kg | ₹78.16 |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | 500 g · 1 kg · 5 kg · 10 kg | 10 kg ₹5,074 | ₹520 at 500 g; flat ₹507.40 from 1 kg | ₹93.36 |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | 500 g · 1 kg · 5 kg · 10 kg | 10 kg ₹5,999 | Flat (₹598–₹599.90) | ₹110.38 |
| Soy Pillar Wax | 500 g · 1 kg · 5 kg · 10 kg | 10 kg ₹6,000 | Flat ₹600 | ₹110.40 |
| Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 | 500 g · 1 kg · 5 kg · 10 kg | 10 kg ₹6,370 | ₹650 → ₹637 from 5 kg | ₹117.21 |
| Beeswax Pellets (Yellow) | 1 kg · 5 kg · 10 kg | 10 kg ₹8,000 | Flat ₹800 | ₹147.20 |
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | 1 kg · 5 kg | 5 kg ₹1,996 | Flat (₹399–₹399.20) | ₹73.45 |
| Paraffins, gel, Premium Coconut Soy Wax, Coconut Wax, Soy Butter Wax, microcrystalline | 500 g and/or 1 kg | 1 kg | Flat within the listed packs | Quote above 1 kg |
The ladder's strength is that the trial kilo is the production wax: on most rungs the price per kilo is flat, so your 1 kg test candle costs almost exactly what a 10 kg production candle does, and nothing has to be re-qualified when you step up. Its weakness is the top: above 10 kg you are combining bags — 25 kg of CSI 464 is 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg at ₹12,685, 100 kg is 10 × 10 kg at ₹50,740 — and treating those listed per-kilo prices as the ceiling while you ask for a quote.
The waxes that score highest on the sheet
Scored on criteria 2 and 3 alone — published specifications and pack ladder — three container waxes stand out. They are the most production-ready waxes CSI lists: a stated load, stated temperatures and four rungs to 10 kg. Candle counts assume 200 g at 8% (184 g of wax).
| Size | Price | Per kg | 200 g candles @ 8% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 g | ₹260 | ₹520 | ≈2 |
| 1 kg | ₹507.40 | ₹507.40 | ≈5 |
| 5 kg | ₹2,537 | ₹507.40 | ≈27 |
| 10 kg | ₹5,074 | ₹507.40 | ≈54 |
| Size | Price | Per kg | 200 g candles @ 8% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 g | ₹299 | ₹598 | ≈2 |
| 1 kg | ₹599 | ₹599 | ≈5 |
| 5 kg | ₹2,995 | ₹599 | ≈27 |
| 10 kg | ₹5,999 | ₹599.90 | ≈54 |
| Size | Price | Per kg | 200 g candles @ 8% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 g | ₹325 | ₹650 | ≈2 |
| 1 kg | ₹650 | ₹650 | ≈5 |
| 5 kg | ₹3,185 | ₹637 | ≈27 |
| 10 kg | ₹6,370 | ₹637 | ≈54 |
One-stop: what CSI lists for production, and what it doesn't
Criterion 6 is where a wax supplier becomes a production supplier. The table lists the consumables and equipment a candle line needs, what CSI lists with example prices, and where the listing stops.
| Need | Listed at CSI (examples) | Largest listed pack | Gap and workaround |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wicks | Eco Candle Wicks C1 ₹5.90 and C2 ₹9.44 each; Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made ₹12 each; Performance Wooden Wicks | 1,000 wicks (C1 ₹5,900; C2 ₹9,440; cotton braided ₹12,000) | No wick described as pre-tabbed; use wick stickers and a setting tool |
| Vessels | 200ml Salsa Glass Jar ₹29.50 each in 100s; tins; ceramic; matte and frosted glass | 100 on several jars (Salsa clear ₹2,950) | Most jars list 5s–20s; 500 and 1,000 are not listed — ask on WhatsApp |
| Fragrance oils | Fragrance Oils collection lists 92 products, most from 15 g trial bottles to 1 kg | 1 kg | No 5 kg or 10 kg pack; combine 1 kg packs or quote on WhatsApp |
| Colour | Liquid dyes (e.g. Purple 15 ml ₹236 to 100 gm ₹900), dye chips, mica | 100 ml / 100 g | No 1 kg dye listed |
| Additives | Vybar 100 g ₹312; microcrystalline 1 kg ₹299; stearic acid 200 g ₹115.64 | 100 g / 1 kg / 200 g | No UV inhibitor listed |
| Moulds | Pillar moulds from ₹826; 40 Cavity Square Moulds ₹472 | Single moulds | Buy duplicates of proven shapes for throughput |
| Melting and pouring | Electric Wax Melter 10 kg ₹21,240 / 20 kg ₹25,960; Wax Pouring Funnel (4 nozzles) ₹1,888; Mini melter ₹2,360 | 20 kg capacity melter | No automated moulding, filling or wicking machines listed |
The picture is a supplier that covers the full consumables side of a manual or semi-manual production line — wax to wick to jar to melter — in production pack sizes up to 1,000 wicks and 100 jars, with gaps at the automation end and at very large single packs. If your line needs a filling machine or a UV inhibitor, you will need a second supplier for those items; the wax, wicks, vessels, fragrance and colour can come on one order. The one-supplier question in full is covered in can I buy all my candle making materials from one supplier.
Run the scoresheet on any supplier in one afternoon
The framework is only useful if you apply it the same way to every supplier on your shortlist, including us. Here is the order that gets you a defensible score quickly.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies candle-making raw materials, not finished candles, and this is the one guide where we are the subject as well as the author. So we built the scoresheet so that it works on any supplier, scored ourselves on evidence you can check on the store, and gave ourselves 3s where a production buyer will do extra work. A supplier that scores itself a perfect 30 is telling you something about its scoresheet.
Every price, pack size and specification here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Specifications are quoted only as stated; blanks are genuine blanks. Stated loads are wax formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Delivery charges and times are not scored because they depend on your pincode and order.
