Splitting one 10 kg bag between a test batch and a selling batch
A 10 kg bag of Soy Pillar Wax at ₹6,000.00 is enough to learn on and sell from. The mistake is pouring all of it into a first run and discovering a fault at candle thirty. Split it deliberately.
Hold back the first kilogram
Use about 1 kg for trials: plain wax, then micro at the low and high end of the stated 3–7% range for pillars, which is 30 g and 70 g in each kilogram. Pour a pillar of each, let them set, release them, and burn one of each. Decide your recipe from those, then pour the remaining 9 kg to it.
That still leaves plenty to sell. At about 300 g of candle, 10 kg makes 36 pillars, so 9 kg makes around 32 once your trial pillars are set aside. At about 200 g, where 10 kg makes 54, 9 kg makes around 48.
Buying the additives in the right size
Microcrystalline Wax Slab comes as 500 g for ₹149.00 or 1 kg for ₹299.00. If your trials settle on 5% or less, the 500 g slab covers the whole bag. At 7%, you need 700 g, so buy the 1 kg slab. Vybar is ₹156.00 for 50 g and ₹312.00 for 100 g, with the lower end of its range suggested for soy. At 0.5% on 10 kg, 50 g is exactly enough; at 1%, you need 100 g. Do not buy both additives by default. Start with micro, and add Vybar only if the trial shows a mottled or uneven surface you want to smooth.
Fragrance and wicks for the same bag
At CSI's 8% convention, 36 pillars of 300 g need 24 g of oil each, which is 864 g. A 1 kg bottle covers that. Sandalwood is ₹5,026.80 per kilogram and states up to 10% in soy. Soy Pillar Wax publishes no fragrance load of its own, so stay at or below your oil's stated figure and check your trial pillars for sweating.
Ordering wicks by count without testing size. Wide pillars need a wick that burns a wider pool. CSI lists Eco wicks as thin C1 at ₹5.90 each and thick C2 at ₹9.44 each. Burn-test your trial pillar with each before buying wicks for the full bag.
Opened bag
