What 100 wicks cost, by type

At ten wicks the difference between C1 and a wooden wick is ₹531. At a hundred it is ₹3,540 — more than three 10-packs of Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid at ₹944 each. That is why 100 is the right moment to be sure about the wick, and why the table below puts the stated sizing and the fixing cost next to the pack price. A 100-pack is not something to buy to find out whether a wick works.

On the three flat-priced wicks, the 100-pack is exactly ten 10-packs' worth of money, so there is no listed penalty for splitting 100 across two packs — 50 C1 and 50 C2 cost ₹295 + ₹472 = ₹767. The wooden wick is the exception that makes 100 a genuine threshold: ₹4,130 in one pack against ₹5,900 in ten, a ₹1,770 difference, so if a wooden-wick candle is going into production, the 100-pack is the way to buy it.

How to spend on 100 wicks: three situations

"I need 100 wicks" means different things depending on where the recipe is. The right basket for a maker who has already burned three test jars to the bottom is not the right basket for one who hasn't lit a candle in that jar yet. Find your row.

Stickers for 100 wicks

Candle Wick Stickers are the consumable that fixes a ready-cut wick to the base of the jar. The page describes 10 mm round stickers, heat resistant, applied "to the bottom of your wick before pouring the wax", and says their job is to keep the wick centred through the pour and the burn. They are listed as a 40-sticker sheet at ₹100 and a 100-sticker sheet at ₹236 — but the 100-sheet is currently sold out, which changes the arithmetic for exactly this batch size.

The in-stock option is also the one that fits the batch properly. A 100-candle batch with ten or twenty spare wicks needs 110–120 stickers, and three 40-sheets give exactly 120. Even when the 100-sheet returns, one sheet alone leaves the spare wicks unfixable. The difference between the two sticker prices across 100 candles is ₹14, so there is no reason to delay a batch waiting for the bigger sheet.

Holders sized to your pour, not your batch

A sticker fixes the bottom of the wick. A holder keeps the top of the wick upright and centred while the wax cools, which in soy can take hours. The number of holders you need has nothing to do with 100 — it equals the number of jars setting at the same time. Pour 20 jars, let them set, free the holders, pour the next 20: five rounds, 100 candles, 20 holders. The table lists CSI's holding and centring tools with what their pages state.

Match the tool to the jar. For 6–7 cm glass, the Wick Centering Device (11.4 cm long) and the Steel Wick Holder (up to 9 cm) both span the rim by their stated sizes, and the steel holder's three holes let you run a double wick later without new tools. The Bamboo Wick Holder's page gives no size, so check one on your jar before buying four sets. For a 10 cm apothecary jar, the steel holder's stated 9 cm limit rules it out, and the Wick Centering Device — 11.4 cm long, for openings under 4 inches (10.16 cm) — is the stated fit. One CSI customer, Lalitha Jagan, notes that the bamboo holder "doesn't exert any pressure on the wicks", which matters with thin wicks that bend easily. Flat wooden wicks are a separate case: none of these pages says it takes a wooden wick, so check the fit with one holder before buying twenty.

Three costed 100-candle wick kits

Putting the three pieces together gives a complete wicking basket for one 100-candle batch. Each kit below assumes a proven recipe, 20 jars poured per round and one wick per candle. The consumables are used up by this batch; the holders come back for the next one, so the per-candle figure is shown both ways.

Bamboo Wick Holders would cost the same ₹472 for 20 in the everyday kit, once one has been checked on your jar. The consumables line is slightly above the per-fixed-wick figures earlier because it carries the spare wicks and the 20 spare stickers; if the spares go unused, they simply start the next batch. A wooden-wick batch of 100 would be the ₹4,130 pack plus ₹300 of stickers, ₹4,430 in consumables or ₹44.30 a candle, with the holder chosen after a fit test. From the second batch onward the everyday kit costs ₹949 — just wicks and stickers — which is the real recurring wick cost of 100 candles in C1.

Wicking 100 jars in one session

A hundred jars is enough that the order of work matters. The sequence below keeps the wick straight, the wax at temperature and the count honest, using a pour rhythm of 20 jars per round.

After 100: when to move to a 500-pack

On Eco and Cotton Braided wicks, five 100-packs and one 500-pack cost exactly the same — ₹2,950 for C1 either way. So moving to 500 is about rhythm, not price. It makes sense once a single recipe is consuming 100 wicks a month or more, because it means one order every five batches instead of every batch. It does not make sense while you are still changing jars or waxes, because a 500-pack of the wrong size is five batches of the wrong candle.
