A thousand wicks cost the same per wick as ten. So the size you test decides far more than the pack you buy.

CSI lists ready-cut candle wicks in packs of up to 1,000, at ₹5.90, ₹9.44 or ₹12 a wick whichever pack size you choose. Since a bigger pack doesn't lower that price, this guide picks the wick first and the pack second.

Quick answers — read this first
Which candle wicks does CSI sell in bulk? Eco Candle Wicks in Thin (C1) and Thick (C2), listed in packs of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000; Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made in 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000; Performance Wooden Wicks (Imported) in 10, 50 and 100. For cutting your own there is a 61-metre braided wick roll with 100 wick tabs (₹706.82) and two by-the-metre wicks in 5 m and 10 m.

Is a bigger pack cheaper per wick? On Eco and Cotton Braided wicks, no: C1 is ₹5.90, C2 ₹9.44 and Cotton Braided ₹12 at every pack size. Only the wooden wicks step down — ₹59 → ₹47.20 → ₹41.30 each.

Which wick suits my jar? Only two CSI wick pages put a number on it: Cotton Braided for candles "exceeding 8 cm" and Eco Candle Wicks Loose for "2 inch diameters". The coloured 200ml Salsa jar pages add that they pair well with C2. Everything else needs a test burn in your own jar.

How many should I buy first? Not 1,000. Buy a small test set, burn it, and then order the pack that covers your next batch — with flat per-wick pricing there is no listed saving in buying ahead.
The short answer
Pick the wick by the jar: stated guidance covers jars wider than 8 cm (Cotton Braided) and 2 inch diameters (Eco Loose). The 6–7 cm glass jars in between are not sized on any wick page — so test.
Buy the pack by the batch: because Eco and Cotton Braided prices are flat from 10 to 1,000, buy what your next production run will use. Stockpiling earns no listed discount.
Wooden is the one exception: the 100-pack works out at ₹41.30 a wick against ₹59 in 10s. Above 100, the listed route is multiples of 100 — or a quote on WhatsApp.
The 8 cm line — the only jar widths CSI wick pages put a number on 2 inch Eco Loose TEST ZONE · no wick page states a size Eco C1 ₹5.90 · C2 ₹9.44 · wooden ₹41.30–₹59 "Exceeding 8 cm" · Cotton Braided ₹12 a wick · still burn-test your jar 4 cm 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 cm 5.3 cm · Heart Velvet Jar, 50 g 6 cm · Amber Shiny Jar, 120 gm 7 cm · Clear Jar with Golden Lid, 150 g 7 cm wide · matte and frosted jars, 200 ml 10 cm · Apothecary Jar Jar widths as stated on CSI product pages · scale 4–11 cm
The black blocks are the only jar widths a CSI wick page states a number for. CSI's 6 cm and 7 cm jars fall in the dashed zone between them, where the wick choice has to come from your own test burn — before you buy 500 of anything.
Straight answer
Where can I buy candle wicks in bulk in India, and which ones should I buy?
CSI lists three ready-made wicks in packs up to 1,000: Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) at ₹5,900 per 1,000 and Thick (C2) at ₹9,440 per 1,000, and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made at ₹12,000 per 1,000. That is ₹5.90, ₹9.44 and ₹12 a wick — exactly what the same wicks cost in a 10-pack or 50-pack. Performance Wooden Wicks are the one line that gets cheaper with volume, from ₹59 each in 10s to ₹41.30 each in 100s, but 100 is the largest listed pack. Because the price per wick barely moves, the decision that costs money is the wick size, not the pack. Only two CSI wick pages state a size — Cotton Braided for candles "exceeding 8 cm", and Eco Candle Wicks Loose for "2 inch diameters" — so for 6–7 cm jars like the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, burn-test C1 against C2 first. A trial with the smallest pack of all four ready-to-use wicks costs ₹957.80, and most tests need only two of them. Once one wick passes, order the pack that covers your next batch, and message CSI on WhatsApp for anything above the listed packs.
One line: the per-wick price is the same from 10 to 1,000, so spend your effort on matching the wick to the jar, and let the next batch — not a discount — decide the pack.
Ready to stock up? Eco Candle Wicks C1 at ₹590 per 100, C2 at ₹944 per 100 and Cotton Braided at ₹1,200 per 100 — the same per-wick price all the way to the 1,000-pack.

What CSI sells in bulk: the full wick pack ladder

"Bulk" means three different things across CSI's wick pages: a 1,000-pack on one, a 61-metre spool on another, and a 100-pack ceiling on a third.

The formats are not interchangeable. Ready-cut wicks go straight into the jar. Wooden wicks give a different flame and look. Metre wicks and rolls must be cut and fixed by you — slower, but you control the length. The table lists every CSI wick with its packs, largest pack, per-wick price and — the column most buyers skip — what the page says about candle size.

Priced above: per wick = pack price ÷ wicks in the pack. Eco C1 ₹59 ÷ 10 = ₹5.90 and ₹5,900 ÷ 1,000 = ₹5.90 · Eco C2 ₹188.80 ÷ 20 = ₹9.44 and ₹9,440 ÷ 1,000 = ₹9.44 · Cotton Braided ₹120 ÷ 10 = ₹12 and ₹12,000 ÷ 1,000 = ₹12 · Wooden ₹590 ÷ 10 = ₹59, ₹2,360 ÷ 50 = ₹47.20, ₹4,130 ÷ 100 = ₹41.30.

Three things stand out. The 1,000-pack exists on three wicks only: C1, C2 and Cotton Braided. On those three the price per wick is identical at every pack size, which leaves convenience and continuity of supply as the only reasons to buy big. And sizing information is thin: two of seven pages give a number, one a description, four nothing. The right wick depends on wax, load and jar together, so your own burn test is the specification.

The C2 10-pack is sold out — the 20-pack isn't a penalty. If you only wanted a handful of Thick (C2) wicks to test, the Thick 10-pack at ₹94.40 is currently unavailable. The 20-pack at ₹188.80 is exactly the same ₹9.44 a wick, so the only cost is ₹94.40 of extra wicks you will use in the next batch anyway. Don't switch to a different wick just to hit a smaller pack; that changes the test you are trying to run.

Choose the wick by the vessel, not by the pack

A wick that is right for a 6 cm jar and a wick that is right for a 10 cm jar are not the same purchase, whatever the pack says.

A wick has one job: melt a pool that reaches the vessel wall without flaring, sooting or drowning. Too small and the candle tunnels; too large and the flame runs tall, the glass heats and carbon builds on the wick. With 500 wicks of the wrong size, every candle in the batch shares the fault. The failure modes are covered in why candles tunnel and why wicks mushroom; here the question is simply which wick to order in volume for which jar.

The table lines up CSI vessels whose pages state a width against what any CSI page says about wicking them. Where nothing is stated, it says so — and that blank is the reason for the test.

Vessel → wick · stated guidance only
What CSI pages say about wicking each jar width, and what to do before ordering in bulk
Vessel (as stated on its page) Stated width Stated fill What any CSI page says about the wick Before a bulk order
Heart Cutout Velvet Candle Jar (Red) 5.3 cm Up to 50 g Nothing on the jar page. The nearest stated wick figure is Eco Candle Wicks Loose, "2 inch" (5.08 cm) Test Eco Loose cut to height against Eco C1
Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid 6 cm diameter 120 gm Nothing stated Test C1 against C2, three jars each
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) 7 cm outer, 6.5 cm base 150 g Nothing stated Test C1 against C2; add a wooden wick if you want that look
Black Matte Glass Jar and the other 200 ml matte/frosted jars 7 cm wide, 8 cm tall "Fill weight of 200 ml" Nothing stated Test C2 first; the jar is taller, so check the last burns too
200ml Salsa Amber Glass Jar and the other coloured Salsa jars Not stated 200 ml "Pairs well with C2 Eco Wicks" Start with C2 as the page says; confirm in your wax and load
Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid 10 cm outer rim ~500–700 g Cotton Braided's page: "large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm" Start with Cotton Braided; burn to the bottom before ordering

Read the table as a route, not a rule. The Cotton Braided statement tells you which wick is made for a 10 cm jar, not that it will clear the full width in your wax at your load. The Salsa pairing tells you where to start, not where to stop. And the middle of the table — 6 cm and 7 cm glass, the everyday and gifting sizes — has no stated wick at all. That is where most bulk wick money goes, and where a test burn earns its keep. For a diameter-by-diameter walkthrough of wick behaviour, see the best wick for candle making, by diameter.

What "Thin" and "Thick" do and don't tell you
Thin (C1) and Thick (C2) are variant names; the Eco description gives no diameter guidance. The names tell you the order of the two sizes, not the jar each is for — which makes them a natural pair to burn side by side in any 6–7 cm jar and let your notes decide.
The mistake: ordering 1,000 C1 because it is the cheapest wick. C1 at ₹5.90 is ₹3.54 cheaper than C2 per wick, which is ₹3,540 across a 1,000-pack. That sounds like a saving until the wick turns out to be too small for your jar: a 150 g candle poured into the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid carries roughly ₹240 of wax, oil and glass before the wick, and a tunnelling candle is a returned or unsold one. Ten failed candles cost more than the entire C1-versus-C2 difference on 600 wicks. Buy the wick that passed the test, not the one at the top of the price list.

The four wicks worth buying in bulk

Four products cover almost every bulk wick order: two Eco sizes for everyday containers, Cotton Braided for wide vessels, and a wooden wick for candles sold partly on the look. Each card lists every pack, the per-wick price and the single-wick candles it covers (one wick per candle).

1
Ready-cut · the lowest per-wick price
Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1)
The page describes Eco wicks as made from natural fibres "like cotton and paper" and says they pair with soy wax, beeswax and other natural waxes. C1 is the thinner of the two sizes and the one to test first in smaller jars and cooler-burning set-ups. It is listed in six pack sizes, all at ₹5.90 a wick, which makes it the easiest wick to buy in exactly the quantity you need. One CSI customer, Ashwini, sums up her Eco wicks in five words: "Quality wick, works very well."

Ready-cut · the stated Salsa-jar pairing
Eco Candle Wicks · Thick (C2)
The thicker Eco wick, and the only CSI wick a jar page names directly: each coloured 200ml Salsa jar page states it "pairs well with C2 Eco Wicks". It is also the natural partner to C1 in any side-by-side test. At ₹9.44 a wick across every in-stock pack, the 20-pack is the smallest you can buy today because the 10-pack is sold out. Monika Deep rated the Eco wicks 4★, writing that the quality "is good for jar candles" while asking the team to work on pricing and delivery timelines — a fair reminder to plan wick orders ahead of a production date rather than the week of it.

Ready-made · wide vessels over 8 cm
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
The only CSI wick with a stated jar width: the page says it is "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", and gives a wick height of 10.16 cm. That makes it the starting point for 10 cm apothecary jars, wide bowls and big pillars. The page mentions pillar, container and decorative candles. At ₹12 a wick in every pack from 10 to 1,000, it is dearer than either Eco size — and irrelevant to a 6 cm jar, where a wick built for wide candles is the wrong tool whatever it costs.

4
Wooden · the only stepped price
Performance Wooden Wicks (Imported)
A different product for a different candle. The page describes wooden wicks as made from thin strips of wood that burn "with a gentle crackling sound", and says a pack contains wicks and wick tabs. No jar size is stated, so a wooden wick needs its own test. This is the one CSI wick where volume changes the listed price, down to ₹41.30 a wick in the 100-pack — the step-by-step arithmetic behind its "Save" labels is in candle wicks wholesale price in India. The full comparison with cotton is in cotton wick vs wooden wick.

The CSI principle
When the price per wick is flat, the pack is a logistics choice. The wick is the product decision.
A bulk discount can rescue a marginal purchase. A flat price can't — it simply multiplies whatever you chose. Choose the wick in three jars, and let the pack follow the batch.

Test before bulk: the ₹957.80 four-wick trial

The cheapest insurance against a 500-wick mistake is the smallest in-stock pack of each wick you are considering. Most tests only need two of these four lines — C1 and C2 for 6–7 cm glass, or Cotton Braided and a wooden wick for wide vessels — so treat ₹957.80 as the ceiling of a wick test, not the typical spend.

1
Choose the one jar you will actually sell in volumeA wick test is jar-specific. If your bestseller is the 150 g Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, test in that jar, with the wax, fragrance oil and load you will use in production. A pass in a different jar or at a different load is not a pass.
2
Pour three candles per wick optionThree per wick lets you burn one early, one after full cure, and keep one as a spare or a burn-to-the-end candle. Two wick options × three candles = six jars, which uses three C1 and three C2 wicks and leaves the rest of each pack for a re-test. Fix every wick with a sticker and label the base of each jar before you pour.
3
Cure before you judgeSoy container candles are commonly cured for 14–21 days. A wick that looks too small on day two may be right on day fourteen, and a wick that looks right on day two can turn out hot once the fragrance has settled. Judge the wick on cured candles. The reasoning is in why your candle needs a 14-day cure.
4
Burn in sessions and write down four numbersFor each candle, per session of up to three hours: minutes until the melt pool reaches the glass, flame height, whether the wick carbon-caps or soots, and how hot the glass feels near the top. Trim to the length your trimmer's page suggests — the Candle Wick Trimmer page says 1/4 inch before every burn — so every session starts equal.
5
Burn one candle all the way downMany wick problems only show in the bottom third, when the pool is deep and the glass is warm. A wick that is comfortable at the top and too hot at the base is the wrong wick for a 500-candle order. Keep burning the spare to the end and note the last two sessions separately.
6
Pick one wick per jar, then order the packThe winner is the wick that reaches the wall in a reasonable session without soot, mushrooming or an overheated jar, all the way down. Write that pairing — jar, wax, oil, load, wick — on your recipe card. Only then choose a pack size, using the next section.
Don't change the wax halfway through a wick test. A wick is matched to a wax, not just to a jar. If you test C1 and C2 in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and then switch production to Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 — whose page states a pour at 58–60°C, well below the Chunks' stated 70–80°C — the melt behaviour changes and your wick result may not carry across. Change the wax, re-test the wick. It costs another ₹59 and saves the batch.

How many wicks to order once the test passes

Flat pricing turns pack size into a cash-flow question, not a savings question.

On Eco and Cotton Braided wicks, 1,000 wicks in one pack and 1,000 wicks in ten 100-packs cost the same. So the only sensible way to pick a pack is to start from the next batch you will actually pour, add a handful of spares for re-wicking and one more test, and buy the smallest combination of listed packs that covers it. The spares in the second column are a planning allowance, not a failure rate — size them to how often you re-pour.

500 candles 500 + your spare stock 500-pack = ₹2,950 500-pack = ₹4,720 500-pack = ₹6,000

Two notes follow. At 250 candles, 100-packs plus a 50-pack cost exactly the same per wick as a 500-pack, so if a second 250-candle batch is weeks away, the 500-pack is simply the tidier order. And cash tied up is real even when the unit price is flat: a 1,000-pack of C2 is ₹9,440 sitting on a shelf, against ₹944 for the 100 you need this month. For small businesses, that money is usually better spent on jars or fragrance oil for the batch in front of you.

If you already know your quantity, the series has a guide for each step: buying 100 candle wicks with the stickers and centring tools a 100-candle batch needs, buying 500 wicks for a festive run, and buying 1,000 wicks with storage and handling at that scale.

Bulk wicks need bulk stickers
Every ready-cut wick needs fixing to the base of the jar. Candle Wick Stickers come as a 40-sticker sheet at ₹100 (₹2.50 a sticker); the 100-sticker sheet is listed at ₹236 but currently sold out, so a 100-candle batch means three 40-sheets for ₹300. Order stickers in the same basket as the wicks — running out of stickers stops a pour as surely as running out of wicks. For the full set of holding and centring tools, see how to keep the wick straight.
Wick passed the test? Order the pack that covers your batch — C1 ₹2,950 per 500, C2 ₹4,720 per 500, Cotton Braided ₹6,000 per 500. For recurring orders, bulk pricing and GST invoicing are handled on WhatsApp.

Rolls and metre wicks: when cutting your own makes sense

Three CSI wicks are sold by length, so a per-wick price depends on how long you cut. The table assumes a 10.16 cm wick — the height stated for Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made. Cut longer and the count falls; cut shorter and it rises.

Cut-your-own wick maths · assumption: 10.16 cm per wick
How many wicks a length of wick gives you, and what each one costs
Product Listed length and price Per metre 10.16 cm lengths Per length Tabs
Braided Wick Roll with 100 wick tabs 61 m · ₹706.82 ₹11.59 600 ₹1.18 100 included
Eco Candle Wicks Loose 5 m · ₹413 ₹82.60 49 ₹8.43 Not stated

Eco Braided Wicks 5 m · ₹472 ₹94.40 49 ₹9.63 Not stated
Eco Braided Wicks 10 m · ₹826 ₹82.60 98 ₹8.43 Not stated

At ₹1.18 a length the roll is the lowest material cost per wick in the range. But the listing includes 100 tabs for 600 lengths, so wicks 101 to 600 need tabs from elsewhere, plus your time to cut, tab and straighten each one. Seen as "100 tabbed wicks plus 500 spare lengths", the roll is ₹706.82 — about ₹7.07 per tabbed wick for the first hundred, before any labour. It states no candle size, so test it like everything else. Both metre wicks cost more per length than a ready-cut C1 at ₹5.90, but each carries stated sizing — 2 inch diameters for Eco Loose, large-diameter jars for Eco Braided. The full cut-your-own economics, including labour, are in the cotton candle wick wholesale guide.

A roll with tabs is not a pack of tabbed wicks. The Braided Wick Roll's page describes the tabs as small metal pieces "attached to one end of the wick" — by you. If your production plan assumes a wick you can drop straight into a jar, a roll will slow the line down. CSI does not list a wick described as pre-tabbed; the honest options and a DIY tabbing workflow are set out in the pre-tabbed wick guide.

Above 1,000, recurring orders and wooden wicks past 100

The listed packs stop at 1,000 for Eco and Cotton Braided wicks and at 100 for Performance Wooden Wicks. Anything larger is still buyable from the listed packs — it is simply a combination. Two thousand C2 wicks are two 1,000-packs, ₹18,880. Five hundred wooden wicks are five 100-packs, ₹20,650, which is ₹41.30 a wick; the same 500 bought as 10-packs would be ₹29,500. Those combinations are the ceiling: the most a larger order costs at listed prices.

For recurring or larger orders, message CSI on WhatsApp with the wick and size (C1, C2, Cotton Braided or wooden), the quantity per order, how often you expect to reorder, your GST number if you need a GST invoice, and your delivery pincode. Add stickers, holders or jars to the same message so the quote covers the whole basket. This guide does not state what any quote will be; the listed prices are what you can rely on today.

Nobody ever saved money on a thousand wicks of the wrong size. Test three jars, then buy the thousand.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. The easy advice on a bulk-wick page would be "buy the 1,000-pack". We are telling you to spend ₹59 to ₹957.80 on a test first, and to buy wicks one batch at a time while the listed per-wick price is flat — because a maker who sells tunnelling candles stops buying wicks from anyone.

Every price, pack size and stock status on this page comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, which always takes precedence. Wick sizing is quoted only where a page states it — Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made "exceeding 8 cm" with a 10.16 cm height, Eco Candle Wicks Loose "2 inch diameters", and the coloured 200ml Salsa jars pairing with C2 — and jar widths only as their pages give them. Where nothing is stated, we say so and recommend a test burn.

For bulk and recurring wick pricing, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA documentation on the waxes and oils you pair with them, or help planning a wick test for a specific jar, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy candle wicks in bulk in India?
CSI lists Eco Candle Wicks C1 and C2 and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made in packs of up to 1,000, Performance Wooden Wicks in packs of up to 100, and a 61-metre braided roll with 100 tabs. The largest listed packs are ₹5,900 (C1), ₹9,440 (C2) and ₹12,000 (Cotton Braided) per 1,000. For quantities above the listed packs or repeat orders, message CSI on WhatsApp.
Are candle wicks cheaper per piece when you buy in bulk?
Not on most CSI wicks. Eco C1 is ₹5.90, C2 ₹9.44 and Cotton Braided ₹12 a wick whether you buy 10 or 1,000. The exception is Performance Wooden Wicks: ₹59 each in 10s, ₹47.20 in the 50-pack and ₹41.30 in the 100-pack. Because the Eco and Cotton Braided prices are flat, buy the quantity your next batch uses rather than stockpiling for a discount that isn't listed.
What size wick do I need for my candle jar?
It depends on the jar width, the wax and the fragrance load together, which is why most wick pages don't state one. CSI states two: Cotton Braided Wicks are for candles "exceeding 8 cm", and Eco Candle Wicks Loose are for "2 inch diameters". The coloured 200ml Salsa jar pages say they pair well with C2. For 6–7 cm jars, test C1 against C2 in three cured candles each, and burn one to the bottom before ordering in bulk.
Do CSI's wooden wicks come with tabs?
The Performance Wooden Wicks page states that a pack contains wicks and wick tabs, and the product is listed in packs of 10 (₹590), 50 (₹2,360) and 100 (₹4,130). No jar size is stated, so test a 10-pack in your vessel before buying 100. For more than 100 wooden wicks, the listed route is multiples of the 100-pack — 500 wicks would be ₹20,650 — or a quote on WhatsApp.
Can I buy more than 1,000 candle wicks at once?
Yes, by combining listed packs: 2,000 Eco C1 wicks are two 1,000-packs at ₹11,800, and 2,000 C2 wicks are ₹18,880. Those figures are the ceiling at listed prices. Wooden wicks stop at the 100-pack, so 2,000 of those would be twenty 100-packs, ₹82,600. For larger or recurring volumes, send CSI your wick type and size, quantity, reorder frequency, GST number and pincode on WhatsApp and ask for a quote.
Which wick is best for soy wax candles?
The Eco Candle Wicks page says they pair with soy wax, beeswax and other natural waxes, and the Eco Soy CSI 400 page recommends Eco Wicks. That makes Eco C1 and C2 the natural starting pair for soy container candles in 6–7 cm jars, with Cotton Braided for jars over 8 cm. Soy waxes differ — CSI 468's stated pour is 58–60°C, Luxury Soy Chunks' is 70–80°C — so re-test the wick whenever you change wax.
