The wick is the cheapest line on your candle's cost sheet. That's exactly why picking it on price alone is the wrong call.

Candle Business Guides · Wick × Wholesale
A candle wick at CSI costs between ₹5.90 and ₹59, and on three of the four ready-to-use wicks the price per wick is the same in a 10-pack as in a 1,000-pack. What that price adds to a finished candle — between 2% and 20% of a 150 g jar candle's materials — matters more than the price itself.

Quick answers — read this first
What is the wholesale price of candle wicks in India? At CSI, listed per wick: Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹5.90, Thick (C2) ₹9.44, Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made ₹12, Performance Wooden Wicks ₹59 in 10s, ₹47.20 in 50s and ₹41.30 in 100s. The biggest packs are ₹5,900, ₹9,440 and ₹12,000 per 1,000, and ₹4,130 per 100 wooden wicks.

Does buying more lower the price per wick? Only on wooden wicks. Eco and Cotton Braided wicks are flat from the 10-pack to the 1,000-pack, so the listed price for 1,000 is simply 1,000 × the single-wick price.

How much of a candle's cost is the wick? In a 150 g jar candle with about ₹240 of wax, oil and glass, C1 is 2.4% of materials, C2 3.8%, Cotton Braided 4.8% and a wooden wick 14.7–19.7%.

Is there a wholesale price below the listed packs? Larger and recurring orders are quoted on WhatsApp. This guide does not state a quote; the listed per-wick prices are the ceiling you can plan against.
The short answer
Read the price per wick, not per pack: ₹5.90, ₹9.44 and ₹12 hold from 10 to 1,000. Only wooden wicks step down, and only to a 100-pack.
Read the price per candle next: a cotton or paper wick is a single-digit percentage of a jar candle's materials. The jar, the wax and the oil set your margin.
Buy the correct wick, not the cheapest one: C2 costs ₹3.54 more than C1, and pays for itself if it prevents one reject in every 70 150 g candles.
Price per wick — and its share of a 150 g jar candle's material cost Eco C1 · any pack ₹5.90 a wick · 2.4% of materials Eco C2 · any pack ₹9.44 a wick · 3.8% Cotton Braided · any pack ₹12 a wick · 4.8% Wooden · 100-pack ₹41.30 a wick · 14.7% Wooden · 50-pack ₹47.20 a wick · 16.4% Wooden · 10-pack ₹59 a wick · 19.7% Share = wick ÷ (₹239.84 of wax, oil and jar + wick) · flat to 1,000 on the first three · wooden listed to 100
Bar length is the listed price per wick. The three cotton and paper wicks sit between 2.4% and 4.8% of a 150 g jar candle's materials; a wooden wick is a different class of cost at 14.7–19.7%, which is why it belongs on candles priced for it.
Straight answer
What do candle wicks cost wholesale in India, and does buying more make them cheaper?
At CSI's listed September 2026 prices, a ready-to-use candle wick costs ₹5.90 (Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1), ₹9.44 (Eco Thick C2), ₹12 (Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made) or ₹41.30–₹59 (Performance Wooden Wicks). On the first three, that price is identical from the 10-pack to the 1,000-pack: ₹5,900 buys 1,000 C1 wicks at exactly the per-wick price of ₹59 for 10. Only the wooden wicks step down, from ₹59 each in 10s to ₹41.30 each in 100s — 30% below ten 10-packs. Inside a 150 g jar candle built from Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, Lavender oil and a Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid — ₹239.84 of materials before the wick — C1 is 2.4% of the total, C2 3.8%, Cotton Braided 4.8% and a wooden wick 14.7% in the 100-pack. Add a wick sticker at ₹2.50 to any of them. The practical conclusion: buy wicks on fit, not price, and buy the quantity your next batch needs, because the listed price gives no reward for stockpiling. For recurring or larger orders, CSI quotes on WhatsApp; the listed prices are the ceiling.
One line: ₹5.90 to ₹12 a wick on cotton and paper wicks at any pack size, ₹41.30 to ₹59 on wooden — and in a jar candle the right wick costs a few rupees more at most.
Listed wholesale packs: Eco C1 ₹5,900 per 1,000, Eco C2 ₹9,440 per 1,000, Cotton Braided ₹12,000 per 1,000, and Performance Wooden Wicks ₹4,130 per 100.

Every listed wick price at every pack size

A wholesale price list is only useful if you can read it across the rows. Here is CSI's, laid flat.

Most price lists are organised by product. For a wholesale comparison it is more useful to organise by pack size, because that is how an order is actually placed — "I need 100", "I need 500" — and it shows immediately whether a bigger pack is doing anything to the price. Each cell gives the listed pack price and, beneath it, the price per wick. A dash means that pack is not listed for that wick.

Wholesale price matrix · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Listed pack price and price per wick, by pack size
Pack Eco C1 (Thin) Eco C2 (Thick) Cotton Braided Performance Wooden
10 ₹59 · ₹5.90 each ₹94.40 · ₹9.44 each (sold out) ₹120 · ₹12 each ₹590 · ₹59 each
20 ₹118 · ₹5.90 each ₹188.80 · ₹9.44 each
50 ₹295 · ₹5.90 each ₹472 · ₹9.44 each ₹600 · ₹12 each ₹2,360 · ₹47.20 each
100 ₹590 · ₹5.90 each ₹944 · ₹9.44 each ₹1,200 · ₹12 each ₹4,130 · ₹41.30 each
500 ₹2,950 · ₹5.90 each ₹4,720 · ₹9.44 each ₹6,000 · ₹12 each — (5 × 100 = ₹20,650)
1,000 ₹5,900 · ₹5.90 each ₹9,440 · ₹9.44 each ₹12,000 · ₹12 each — (10 × 100 = ₹41,300)

Read down any of the first three columns and the per-wick figure never moves. Read across any row and the gaps are fixed ratios: C2 costs exactly 60% more than C1 (₹9.44 against ₹5.90), Cotton Braided costs a little over twice C1, and a wooden wick in its cheapest pack costs exactly seven times a C1. Those ratios hold whether you are buying for a weekend market or a 1,000-candle festive run, so the relative cost of each wick choice is the same at every scale.

Priced above: per wick = pack price ÷ count. Eco C1 ₹590 ÷ 100 = ₹5.90; C2 ₹944 ÷ 100 = ₹9.44; ₹9.44 ÷ ₹5.90 = 1.60. Cotton Braided ₹1,200 ÷ 100 = ₹12; ₹12 ÷ ₹5.90 = 2.03. Wooden ₹4,130 ÷ 100 = ₹41.30; ₹41.30 ÷ ₹5.90 = 7.00. Wooden 500 and 1,000 are not listed; the figures shown are 5 × and 10 × the 100-pack.
Don't read the C2 10-pack as a price rise. The Thick (C2) 10-pack is currently sold out, which makes the smallest C2 purchase ₹188.80 for 20. That is a stock gap, not a price step: the 20-pack is the same ₹9.44 a wick. If you are pricing a test, count it as ₹94.40 of C2 wicks used plus ₹94.40 carried into your next batch.

Flat or stepped: what CSI's wick prices actually do

There are two kinds of wholesale price structure in the wick range, and each asks for a different buying habit.

Flat pricing — Eco C1, Eco C2, Cotton Braided. The listed price for 1,000 wicks is 1,000 times the price of one. There is no listed reward for buying ahead and no listed penalty for buying small. That makes the right order the one that matches consumption: the wicks for the next batch plus a sensible spare stock. Buying 1,000 C2 wicks when you use 100 a month puts ₹8,496 more on the shelf than a 100-pack would (₹9,440 against ₹944) for no listed saving at all. The only arguments for the big pack are fewer orders to place and fewer chances to run out mid-season — real benefits, but operational ones.

Stepped pricing — Performance Wooden Wicks. Here volume does change the price, and the step is large. The variant names on the product page read "Pack of 50 (Save 25%)" and "Pack of 100 (Save 30%)". Checking those against the 10-pack price is worth doing before you plan around them:

Wooden wick price steps · arithmetic check
What each wooden pack saves against buying the same count in 10-packs
Listed variant Price Per wick Same count in 10-packs Saving in ₹ Saving as calculated
Pack of 10 ₹590 ₹59 ₹590
Pack of 50 (Save 25%) ₹2,360 ₹47.20 5 × ₹590 = ₹2,950 ₹590 20%
Pack of 100 (Save 30%) ₹4,130 ₹41.30 10 × ₹590 = ₹5,900 ₹1,770 30%
100-pack vs 2 × 50-packs ₹4,130 ₹41.30 2 × ₹2,360 = ₹4,720 ₹590 12.5%

The 100-pack's "Save 30%" matches the arithmetic exactly. The 50-pack works out at 20% below five 10-packs, so plan on the rupee figures rather than the label; the product page is authoritative if anything has changed. Two practical consequences follow. First, above 70 wooden wicks the 100-pack is never the dearer buy: 70 wicks as a 50-pack plus two 10-packs cost ₹3,540, but 80 wicks as a 50-pack plus three 10-packs cost ₹4,130 — the price of the 100-pack, which gives you 20 more. Second, because 100 is the largest listed pack, the price per wooden wick bottoms out at ₹41.30 on listed prices — anything above 100 is multiples of that pack, or a WhatsApp quote. The wooden range, holders and test protocol are covered in the wooden candle wick wholesale guide.

The same pattern on wick stickers
Candle Wick Stickers are listed as a 40-sticker sheet at ₹100 (₹2.50 each) and a 100-sticker sheet at ₹236 (₹2.36 each) — a 5.6% step. The 100-sheet is sold out at the moment, so the working price for stickers is ₹2.50. On a 1,000-candle run that small step would be ₹140; it is not a reason to wait for stock.

What a wick costs inside a finished candle

A price per wick tells you what the bag costs. A share of the candle tells you whether it matters.

To see what the wick price means, put it inside three real candle formats built from CSI materials. Each uses Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹5,999 per 10 kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5,221 per kg, poured at an 8% fragrance load (so a 150 g candle is 138 g of wax and 12 g of oil), in a CSI vessel whose page states its fill. One wick per candle is assumed, and every wick is costed in every candle to show the arithmetic — not as a pairing recommendation. Stated sizing still applies (Cotton Braided is for candles over 8 cm), and wide vessels may need more than one wick, which your test burn will tell you.

70 g votive · Clear Glass Votive Jar 70 gram ₹38.63 + ₹29.24 + ₹31.86 = ₹99.73 ₹105.63 · 5.6% ₹109.17 · 8.6% ₹111.73 · 10.7% ₹141.03 · 29.3%
150 g jar · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid ₹82.79 + ₹62.65 + ₹94.40 = ₹239.84 ₹245.74 · 2.4% ₹249.28 · 3.8% ₹251.84 · 4.8% ₹281.14 · 14.7%
500 g jar · Apothecary Glass Candle Jar (500 gm) ₹275.95 + ₹208.84 + ₹212.40 = ₹697.19 ₹703.09 · 0.8% ₹706.63 · 1.3% ₹709.19 · 1.7% ₹738.49 · 5.6%

Three readings matter for pricing. In a standard jar candle, a cotton or paper wick is small change: the whole spread from C1 to Cotton Braided is ₹6.10 on a ₹240 cost base. In a small votive the wick share more than doubles, because everything else is small — so the C1-versus-C2 choice is worth more thought on votives than on 500 g jars. And a wooden wick is a pricing decision, not a supply decision: at ₹41.30 it is 14.7% of a 150 g candle's materials and almost 30% of a votive's, so it belongs on candles whose retail price carries the look and the crackle it sells. The cotton-versus-wood trade-off for new makers is laid out in cotton wick vs wooden wick.

Worked out above: wax ₹5,999 ÷ 10,000 g = ₹0.5999/g; oil ₹5,221 ÷ 1,000 g = ₹5.221/g; 8% load. Votive: 64.4 g wax = ₹38.63, 5.6 g oil = ₹29.24, jar ₹318.60 ÷ 10 = ₹31.86. 150 g: 138 g wax = ₹82.79, 12 g oil = ₹62.65, jar ₹944 ÷ 10 = ₹94.40. 500 g: 460 g wax = ₹275.95, 40 g oil = ₹208.84, apothecary 500 gm ₹212.40. Share = wick ÷ (base + wick).
The CSI principle
The wick is the smallest number on the cost sheet and the largest number on the burn report.
Every other line — wax, oil, glass — only pays off if the wick burns the candle properly. Shaving three rupees off the one component that decides whether the other ₹240 performs is the most expensive saving in candle making.

When the dearer wick is the cheaper choice

Because wick prices are small inside a candle, the question to ask is not "which wick is cheapest?" but "how many rejects does the cheaper wick have to avoid to be worth it?" The arithmetic is simple and it changes buying decisions quickly.

C1 versus C2: the one-in-70 rule. Suppose your 150 g jar sits right on the edge between the two Eco sizes. C2 costs ₹3.54 more per wick. A candle that tunnels, soots or won't hold a flame is a lost ₹249.28 of materials, before labour, packaging or a disappointed customer. ₹249.28 ÷ ₹3.54 = 70.4. So if the correct wick prevents one reject in every 70 candles, it has paid for itself on materials alone. Across a 1,000-candle order, the entire C1-to-C2 difference is ₹3,540 — the materials in about 14 of those 150 g candles. The fix is not to guess: burn both in cured candles and buy the one that passes, whatever it costs.

The same rule works in reverse for premium wicks. Moving from C2 to a wooden wick in the 100-pack adds ₹31.86 per candle. That is not recovered by fewer rejects; it has to be recovered at the till. If a wooden-wick candle in your range sells for at least ₹31.86 more than the same candle with a cotton wick — and your customers are paying for the look and sound the page describes — the wick earns its place. If not, it is a margin leak dressed as an upgrade. For turning material cost into a retail price, see how to price candles in India.

The stockpile that looks like a saving. A maker sees "1,000 wicks for ₹5,900" and reads it as a wholesale deal. It isn't one: it is 1,000 × ₹5.90, exactly the 10-pack rate. If they then change jar, change wax or find in testing that C2 suits better, several thousand rupees of C1 sit unused. On flat-priced wicks, buying to consumption costs nothing extra and keeps every future wick decision open. Buy the 1,000-pack when you already pour 1,000 of one recipe — not before.

The full cost of fixing a wick: stickers, holders and tools

A wick in a bag is not yet a wick in a candle. Ready-cut wicks need fixing to the base of the vessel and holding upright while the wax sets. The first of those is a consumable that belongs in your per-candle cost; the second is equipment you buy once and reuse. Separating the two keeps your cost sheet honest.

Wick plus fixing · CSI live pricing, September 2026

Bamboo Wick Holder ₹118 / set of 5 ₹23.60 each Reusable tool Spread over every pour
Wick Centering Device ₹118 / pack of 5 ₹23.60 each Reusable tool Spread over every pour

Fixing adds ₹2.50 to every wick, which lifts the share of a 150 g candle's materials to 3.4% for C1 and 4.7% for C2. Holders are a different kind of number. The Steel Wick Holder page describes a reusable stainless-steel bar with a three-hole layout for single, double or triple wicks, fitting jars up to 9 cm wide; one holder serves one jar per pour, again and again. As illustrative arithmetic only, a ₹50 holder used for 100 pours works out at ₹0.50 a candle — which is why holders belong in your equipment budget, sized to how many jars you pour at once, not to how many candles you sell.

Budget stickers per candle, holders per pour
If you pour 20 jars in a session, you need 20 holders (₹1,000 in Steel Wick Holders, or four sets of bamboo holders at ₹472) whether you make 100 or 1,000 candles that month — but you need one ₹2.50 sticker for every single candle. A 100-candle batch needs 100 stickers: three 40-sheets, ₹300, with 20 spare.

Three wick price lines, card by card

The wholesale price of a wick is set by its product line. These three cards cover all four ready-to-use wicks, with every listed pack, the per-wick price and the number of single-wick candles each pack covers.

Flat price · two sizes · 1,000-pack listed
Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1) and Thick (C2)
The lowest-priced ready-cut wicks in the range and the only line with two sizes under one listing. The page describes natural fibres "like cotton and paper" and says the wicks pair with soy wax, beeswax and other natural waxes; the coloured 200ml Salsa jar pages state they pair well with C2. Every pack of each size is the same price per wick, so pack choice is purely a quantity decision. Ashwini's review of the Eco wicks: "Quality wick, works very well."

Flat price · stated for candles over 8 cm
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
The wide-candle wick, and at ₹12 the dearest of the flat-priced lines. Its page states it is "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm" and gives a wick height of 10.16 cm. In a 500 g apothecary jar its ₹12 is 1.7% of materials — the smallest share of any wick-and-candle pairing in this guide, because the vessel it is made for carries so much wax and oil. That is the right way to judge it: against the size of candle it is for, not against a C1.

Performance Wooden Wicks (Imported)
The only wick where the pack changes the price, and the one most worth buying in its largest listed pack once a test has passed: ₹41.30 a wick in the 100-pack against ₹59 in 10s. The page says packs contain wicks and wick tabs, and describes a flame that burns "with a gentle crackling sound". No jar size is stated, so test a 10-pack first. At 14.7% of a 150 g candle's materials, price the candle for the wick before you buy 100.

Whichever line you buy, run the same six checks before placing a wick order or accepting a quote. They take five minutes with a calculator and they stop most wick overspends before they happen.

1
Convert every quote or listing to price per wickDivide the pack price by the count. A "₹5,900 bulk pack" and a "₹59 pack" are both ₹5.90 a wick; a pack price on its own tells you nothing about value.
2
Check whether the next pack up actually stepsCompare per-wick prices across the pack sizes of the same wick. On Eco and Cotton Braided they do not; on wooden wicks they do, to ₹47.20 and ₹41.30. Only a real step justifies buying ahead of need.
3
Add the fixing consumableAdd ₹2.50 per candle for a wick sticker from a 40-sheet. This is the per-candle wick line that belongs on your cost sheet: ₹8.40 for C1, ₹11.94 for C2, ₹14.50 for Cotton Braided.
4
Put it inside the candleDivide the wick line by the candle's total material cost. Under about 5% in a jar candle, the wick price is not what sets your margin — focus on fit. Above 10%, as with wooden wicks or small votives, make sure the retail price carries it.
5
Run the reject test before choosing the cheaper sizeDivide one candle's material cost by the price gap between two wick sizes. For a ₹249.28 candle and a ₹3.54 gap, that is about 70: the dearer wick pays for itself if it avoids one failure in 70 candles.
6
Order to consumption; quote above the listed packsBuy the listed packs that cover your next batch. For recurring orders or anything above 1,000 (or 100 wooden wicks), ask for a quote on WhatsApp and compare it with the listed per-wick price, which is your ceiling.

Wholesale quotes above the listed packs

"Wholesale price" often means a number that isn't on the website. At CSI the position is straightforward: the listed per-wick prices are what anyone can buy at today, in any quantity the listed packs can make up, and larger or recurring orders are quoted directly on WhatsApp. This guide will not tell you what a quote will be, because it depends on the wick, the quantity, how regularly you order and where it ships. What it can tell you is how to make a quote request quick to answer and easy to compare.

When the quote arrives, divide it back to price per wick including shipping and put it next to the listed figure. If you are comparing suppliers, compare like with like — the same wick construction, the same pack format, the same invoice terms — and burn-test a sample from any new source before switching production. A cheaper wick that behaves differently in your jar resets every recipe you have already proven. For the wider sourcing picture, see the best place to source candle making supplies for a business.

The difference between a ₹5.90 wick and a ₹9.44 wick is three and a half rupees. The difference between the right wick and the wrong one is the whole candle.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A price page from a supplier usually ends in "buy the big pack". This one shows that on most of our wicks the big pack costs exactly the same per wick as the small one, checks our own wooden-wick variant labels against the arithmetic, and tells you to buy the wick that passes your burn test even when it is the dearer one — because rejected candles cost our customers far more than the wick.

Every price, pack size and stock status here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, which always takes precedence. Wick specifications are quoted only as stated on product pages — Cotton Braided for candles "exceeding 8 cm" with a 10.16 cm height; the Steel Wick Holder's 3-hole layout and fit for jars up to 9 cm wide — and candle cost figures show every assumption behind them.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of candle wicks per piece in India?
At CSI's listed September 2026 prices: ₹5.90 for Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1), ₹9.44 for Thick (C2), ₹12 for Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made, and ₹59, ₹47.20 or ₹41.30 for Performance Wooden Wicks in packs of 10, 50 and 100. The Eco and Cotton Braided prices are the same in every pack size from 10 to 1,000. Adding a wick sticker from a 40-sheet costs ₹2.50 more per candle.
How much do 1,000 candle wicks cost wholesale?
The listed 1,000-packs are ₹5,900 for Eco C1, ₹9,440 for Eco C2 and ₹12,000 for Cotton Braided — exactly 1,000 times the single-wick price. Performance Wooden Wicks are listed only up to 100, so 1,000 wooden wicks at listed prices would be ten 100-packs, ₹41,300. For recurring orders at this volume, message CSI on WhatsApp for a quote; the listed figures are the ceiling.
Are wooden wicks worth the higher price?
Only if the candle's retail price carries them. In a 150 g jar candle with ₹239.84 of wax, oil and glass, a wooden wick from the 100-pack is 14.7% of materials, against 3.8% for Eco C2. That is ₹31.86 more per candle, which has to come back through a higher selling price for the look and crackle. Buy the 100-pack only after a 10-pack has passed a burn test in your jar.
What percentage of candle cost is the wick?
For a 150 g jar candle built from Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, Lavender oil at 8% and a Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, the wick is 2.4% of materials with Eco C1, 3.8% with C2 and 4.8% with Cotton Braided. In a 70 g votive the share rises to 5.6–10.7% for those wicks; in a 500 g apothecary candle it falls to 0.8–1.7%. Wooden wicks run from 5.6% (500 g) to 29.3% (70 g votive).
How much do the wooden wick multi-packs really save?
The variants are labelled "Pack of 50 (Save 25%)" and "Pack of 100 (Save 30%)". Measured against five 10-packs (₹2,950), the 50-pack at ₹2,360 saves ₹590, which is 20%; the 100-pack matches its label exactly, saving ₹1,770 or 30% against ten 10-packs. Plan your costs on the rupee prices — ₹47.20 and ₹41.30 a wick — and check the product page, which is always authoritative, before you order.
Can I get a better wholesale price on candle wicks?
Larger and recurring orders are quoted on WhatsApp. Send the wick and size, quantity, reorder frequency, GST number and pincode, and include any other items you need so the quote covers the basket. No discount is listed on Eco or Cotton Braided wicks, so the listed per-wick price is the ceiling to compare any quote against — ₹5.90, ₹9.44 or ₹12.
