In a luxury candle, the oil and the glass cost more than the wax. That is exactly why the wax is the wrong place to cut corners — or to overspend.

CSI sells two soy waxes with "Luxury" in the name, and they are not interchangeable. This guide sets their stated specs side by side, matches each to luxury formats and glass, and costs a full luxury candle so you can see how small the wax decision really is.
₹41.63
the whole wax difference between Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 in a 500g apothecary candle at 10% — on a ₹894.43 materials bill with White Royal Oud, jar, wick and packaging · 10 kg bag prices · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What are CSI's luxury soy waxes? Two: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks₹5,999 per 10 kg, stated 8–13% load, add 80–90°C, pour 75–80°C (70–80°C in its method) — and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464₹5,074 per 10 kg, stated up to 10%, melt and pour 80–90°C, flakes.

Which suits luxury candles better? For heavy luxury oils you may want above 10%, and for glass with an 85°C hot-pour limit, Luxury Soy Chunks, whose stated pour sits under that limit. For large luxury vessels at 8–10% on a tighter budget, CSI 464 — poured at 80–85°C in 85°C-rated glass.

How much does the choice cost? In a 500g apothecary candle at 10%: ₹269.96 of Chunks vs ₹228.33 of CSI 464. The luxury oil alone is ₹405.15.

Can I buy luxury soy wax wholesale? Both are listed up to 10 kg bags. The CSI 464 description also mentions a 25 kg format — confirm on WhatsApp, where recurring pricing and GST invoicing are handled.
The short answer
Two Luxury waxes, two jobs: Chunks for headroom to 13% and a pour under 85°C glass limits; CSI 464 for 8–10% luxury lines at ₹92.50 less a kilo.
Wax is a quarter of a luxury candle: in a 500g apothecary candle the oil is 45% of materials and the jar 24%; CSI 464 is 25.5%.
Buy wholesale by the bag: one 10 kg bag makes about 21 × 500g apothecary candles at 10% after a spill allowance.

Bars are drawn to one scale (0.65 px per rupee). Swapping CSI 464 for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks lengthens only the wax layer, by ₹41.63 — 4.65% of the candle's materials. The oil layer, set by the fragrance you choose, is the one that decides the cost of a luxury candle.
Straight answer
Which luxury soy wax should I buy wholesale for luxury candles — Luxury Soy Wax Chunks or Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464?
Buy by the oil load and the glass. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (₹5,999 per 10 kg) state a load of 8–13% with 10% recommended, fragrance added at 80–90°C and a pour of 75–80°C (spec table) or 70–80°C (method) — comfortably under the 85°C hot-pour limit stated for the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid. Choose them for oud, amber and other heavy luxury oils you may pour above 10%. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (₹5,074 per 10 kg) states up to 10% and a pour of 80–90°C, so in 85°C-rated glass it must be poured at 80–85°C; choose it for luxury lines at 8–10%, especially large vessels where its lower price adds up. The difference is smaller than the names suggest: in a 500g apothecary candle at 10%, ₹269.96 of Chunks against ₹228.33 of CSI 464 — ₹41.63 — while 50g of White Royal Oud costs ₹405.15 and the jar ₹212.40. The full candle, boxed, comes to ₹894.43 with CSI 464. One 10 kg bag makes about 21 such candles after a spill allowance. For recurring wholesale volumes, GST invoicing and the 25 kg format mentioned on CSI 464's page, message us on WhatsApp.
One line: Luxury Soy Chunks for heavy oils above 10% and 85°C-rated glass, CSI 464 for 8–10% luxury lines at ₹92.50 a kilo less — and remember the wax is ₹41.63 of a ₹894 candle, the oil ₹405.
Both luxury waxes, sample to wholesale: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks ₹299 / 500 g to ₹5,999 / 10 kg and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 ₹260 / 500 g to ₹5,074 / 10 kg. The Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid is ₹212.40 (500 gm) or ₹250 (700 gm).

The two Luxury soy waxes, side by side

Same word on the bag. Different form, different ceiling, different pour — and ₹92.50 a kilo apart.

"Luxury" is part of both product names; it is not a certification or a separate grade. What makes either wax suitable for a luxury range is what its page commits to in numbers, and here the two differ in ways that matter for large, expensive candles. The table sets every stated figure side by side, followed by the descriptive claims each page makes, which are worth testing rather than taking on trust.

Read the table as two different design philosophies. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks come with a method: a load range with a recommendation and a maximum, an add temperature, a pour, a stir time and a cure. A luxury brand can write its SOP almost directly from that page. CSI 464 comes with a technical sheet instead: a load ceiling, melt and pour figures and a shelf life, in an easier-to-weigh flake. Its page also has the longer list of finish claims — smooth, opaque, excellent glass adhesion, low frosting — which matter a great deal in clear luxury glass and are exactly what a four-week jar test should check.

The mistake: assuming the dearer "Luxury" wax is the more luxurious candle. The ₹92.50-a-kilo gap buys Chunks a wider stated load window and a pour that sits under common glass limits. It does not buy a better-looking candle by default — CSI 464's page is the one making the finish claims. Which wax gives the finer surface in your jar is a test result, not a price signal. Pour both before you commit a luxury line.

The 85°C question: luxury glass and pour temperature

Luxury candles live in heavier, more decorative glass, and CSI's pages for two of its most luxury-styled vessels state a limit. The Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid (≈10 cm diameter, 13.2 cm tall with lid, 500 gm and 700 gm sizes) is stated safe for hot-pour up to 85°C, and so is the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid. That single figure changes how the two Luxury waxes behave in practice.

Stated pour vs stated hot-pour limit · 85°C-rated CSI jars
How much of each wax's stated pour range fits inside the glass
Wax Stated pour Jar's stated limit Usable overlap What it means at the bench
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 75–80°C (spec table) · 70–80°C (method) Up to 85°C The whole stated range Pour at 75–80°C with a 5°C margin below the glass limit
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 80–90°C Up to 85°C 80–85°C only Pour at the bottom of the stated range; never at the top

Neither result rules a wax out. It means CSI 464 in 85°C-rated luxury glass needs a tighter working window — a thermometer in the pitcher, not a guess — while Luxury Soy Chunks give an operator more room for error. On a production day pouring twenty large apothecary jars, that margin is worth something. For other luxury vessels, such as the Borosilicate Glass Jar with golden lid ("ideal for 500–600g wax fill", ₹200) or the Candle Jar with Dome Lid (₹354), the pages do not state a hot-pour limit, so ask before pouring at the top of any range.

Warm the glass, not the wax
Large luxury vessels have a lot of cold glass for hot wax to meet, which is one common cause of pull-away patches. Instead of pouring hotter to compensate — which pushes CSI 464 past the jar's stated 85°C — bring the jars up to room temperature away from air-conditioning before pouring, and pour steadily. Adhesion problems in clear glass are covered in why candles get wet spots and sinkholes.

Which luxury formats each wax suits

Luxury ranges tend to go large: a statement 500g or 700g apothecary candle, a 600g borosilicate jar, and a smaller 150g "discovery" size. The table costs both Luxury waxes in each, at 10% with White Royal Oud (₹8,103 per kg) as the luxury oil, and shows the per-candle gap and how many candles one 10 kg bag makes before any spill allowance.

Luxury formats at 10% · 10 kg bag prices · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Wax, oil and jar by format — and where the Chunks-vs-464 gap grows
Format (stated fill) Jar price Wax · oil CSI 464 wax Chunks wax Gap White Royal Oud Candles per 10 kg bag
Clear Glass Jar, Golden Lid (150g) ₹94.40 135g · 15g ₹68.50 ₹80.99 ₹12.49 ₹121.55 74
Apothecary, Dome Lid (500 gm) ₹212.40 450g · 50g ₹228.33 ₹269.96 ₹41.63 ₹405.15 22
Borosilicate, golden lid (500–600g) ₹200 540g · 60g ₹274 ₹323.95 ₹49.95 ₹486.18 18
Apothecary, Dome Lid (700 gm) ₹250 630g · 70g ₹319.66 ₹377.94 ₹58.28 ₹567.21 15
Worked out above: candle at 10% = 90% wax + 10% oil (the borosilicate jar is costed as a 600g candle: 540g of wax, inside its stated 500–600g wax fill). CSI 464 ₹0.5074/g and Chunks ₹0.5999/g at 10 kg prices: e.g. 450 × 0.5074 = ₹228.33; 450 × 0.5999 = ₹269.96. White Royal Oud 1 kg ₹8,103 = ₹8.103/g: 50 × 8.103 = ₹405.15. Candles per bag = 10,000g ÷ wax grams, rounded down. Jars: Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid ₹944 per 10; Apothecary 500 gm ₹212.40, 700 gm ₹250; Borosilicate 600g ₹200.

Two patterns. The gap scales with the candle: ₹12.49 in a 150g jar, ₹58.28 in a 700g apothecary. So CSI 464's price advantage matters most in the biggest vessels, exactly where a luxury range makes its statement pieces — provided those pieces sit at 8–10% and are poured at 80–85°C in the 85°C-rated apothecary glass. And the oil column is larger than either wax column in every row; in the 700g apothecary, White Royal Oud at ₹567.21 costs almost as much as the CSI 464 wax and the jar combined (₹569.66). Large luxury candles at 13% become an oil budget question before they are a wax question.

Large diameter is a wick question first. A 10 cm apothecary jar is wide. The Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made page states they are engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm, with a 10.16 cm wick height against the jar's 10.8 cm height without lid — a sensible starting point, but the page does not say one wick fills a 10 cm pool. Test one wick against two in the same wax and oil before the luxury line goes wholesale, because a tunnelling candle with ₹894.43 of materials in it is the most expensive reject you can make. See choosing a wick by diameter.

The luxury candle cost stack

The rupees in a luxury candle go where the customer's nose and eyes go: the oil and the glass. The wax holds the stage.

Here is the 500g apothecary candle costed completely, boxed and ready to dispatch, in both Luxury waxes. Everything except the wax is identical. Packaging uses CSI's listed Corrugated 3 ply box 7 × 5 × 4 inch (pack of 50, ₹1,336), Premium Packing Tissue Paper 50 × 75 cm (100 sheets, ₹650) and a Candle Care Sticker (roll of 500, ₹413).

Priced above: per-unit costs = pack price ÷ pack count (₹1,336 ÷ 50 = ₹26.72; ₹650 ÷ 100 = ₹6.50; ₹413 ÷ 500 = ₹0.83; ₹1,200 ÷ 100 = ₹12; ₹100 ÷ 40 = ₹2.50). One wick is costed; if your test needs two, add ₹14.50. Shares = line ÷ total. The box title gives 7 × 5 × 4 inches (about 17.8 × 12.7 × 10.2 cm) against the jar's stated ≈10 cm diameter and 13.2 cm height with lid — check the fit with a sample before ordering boxes in bulk.

The stack tells a luxury brand three things. Wax is about a quarter of the candle whichever Luxury wax you use. Oil is nearly half, so the fragrance choice and the load are where luxury cost is really decided. And the glass is almost as large a line as the wax, which is why luxury jars deserve the same care over hot-pour limits and fit as the wax does. For a full retail pricing build around one luxury oil, see how to build a ₹1,500 luxury candle around White Royal Oud.

The 13% trap is bigger in large candles. Luxury Soy Chunks let you pour the 500g apothecary at 13%: 435g of wax (₹260.96) and 65g of White Royal Oud (₹526.70), taking the boxed candle to ₹1,048.61 — ₹154.18 more than the CSI 464 version at 10%, most of it oil. Headroom is a reason to choose Chunks for scents that genuinely need it after a 14-day cure and a correctly sized wick, not a default. Load logic is explained in can too much fragrance oil make a candle smell weaker.
The CSI principle
In a luxury candle, choose the wax for how it pours and holds the oil. Spend the luxury budget on what the customer can smell and see.
The gap between CSI's two Luxury waxes is under 5% of a boxed 500g candle. The oil is 45% of it and the glass nearly a quarter. A brand that agonises over ₹41.63 of wax while guessing its load and its glass limit is optimising the wrong layer.

The two luxury picks

Both cards count 500g apothecary candles at 10% (450g of wax each) per pack, so a luxury brand can read off how many statement candles each size makes before any spill allowance.

Luxury headroom · stated 8–13% · pours under 85°C
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks for Jar / Container Candles
The pick for a luxury range built on heavy oils — oud, amber, dark vanilla — where some scents may need 11–13% to satisfy a buyer paying luxury prices. The stated method is complete enough to hand to a production helper: 8% start, 10% recommended, 13% maximum, add at 80–90°C, stir two full minutes, pour 75–80°C (or 70–80°C per the method), cure 48 hours minimum and ideally one to two weeks before burn tests. Its stated pour sits wholly under the 85°C limit of CSI's apothecary and golden-lid jars. Listed pricing is flat — about ₹599 a kilo in every pack — so the 500g sample costs what production does.

The pick for luxury lines you pour at 8–10% and for the largest vessels, where its ₹507.40 a kilo saves ₹58.28 per 700g apothecary candle against Chunks. Its page states single-pour container use, up to 10%, melt and pour 80–90°C and a 60-month shelf life, lists luxury candle brands among its intended users, and describes a smooth, opaque finish with excellent glass adhesion and low frosting — the claims to check through clear glass over four weeks. In 85°C-rated glass, pour at 80–85°C. A verified buyer calls it "one of the best wax for container Candles".

Many luxury brands will end up using both: Chunks for the two or three heavy signature scents that need headroom, CSI 464 for the rest of the line. That is two waxes, two recipe cards and two reorder points, which is manageable — as long as no candle ever switches wax without a test. The production side of running more than one wax is in wholesale soy wax for candle manufacturers; the premium coconut-soy alternative is compared in premium soy wax bulk supplier.

One 10 kg bag of luxury candles: the cash and the plan

A wholesale luxury buyer thinks in bags. One 10 kg bag at 450g per candle is 22 candles on paper; allowing about 5% for spills, top-ups and the test jar, plan on 21 × 500g apothecary candles (21 × 450g = 9,450g, plus 5% = 9,922.5g). Here is the cash that bag of luxury candles ties up, buying real listed packs rather than per-unit fractions.

The wax is ₹5,074 of ₹21,546.40 — under a quarter of the cash — and the choice between the two Luxury waxes moves the total by ₹925. The oil line is the largest single cheque, and the packaging packs (boxes, tissue, stickers) leave stock for the next batch. That is the planning point: a luxury brand's working capital sits in fragrance and glass, so those are the lines to forecast carefully. Wax can be reordered by the bag against a reorder point.

1
Pour a two-wax test in the real vesselOne 500 gm apothecary jar each of Chunks and CSI 464 (₹424.80 of glass), same oil at 10%, same wick. Chunks at 75–80°C; CSI 464 at 80–85°C to respect the jar's stated 85°C. Use 500g wax samples: ₹299 and ₹260.
2
Test the wick while you test the waxAdd a third jar with two wicks in whichever wax you favour, poured from a second 500 g sample. A 10 cm pool is where single-wick luxury candles most often disappoint, and it is far cheaper to learn on three jars than on twenty-one.
3
Judge finish at four weeks, throw at day 14Photograph the surface and the glass edge weekly. Burn at day 14 — 14–21 days is standard cure for soy containers — long enough for a full pool to reach the wall.
4
Check the box fit with a finished candlePut a finished, lidded jar in one sample box before ordering fifty. A luxury candle that rattles in transit, or will not close, is a packaging cost you pay twice.
5
Order the bag, the oil and the glass togetherOnce the recipe passes, order the 10 kg bag of the winning wax with the 1,050g of oil and the jars. If the festive season is your luxury window, Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November, so a 14–21 day cure means pouring by mid-October.
A luxury candle is judged on its scent and its glass. The wax's job is to make both look effortless — and to cost the same every time you reorder it.

Buying luxury soy wholesale

Both Luxury waxes are listed from 500 g to 10 kg, and on both the listed price per kilo is flat or effectively flat from 1 kg upwards: Luxury Soy Chunks ₹599 at 1 kg and 5 kg and ₹599.90 at 10 kg; CSI 464 ₹507.40 at 1, 5 and 10 kg, with only the 500 g pack dearer at ₹520/kg. There is no listed reward for stockpiling. For luxury volumes above 10 kg, listed packs multiplied out are the ceiling — 50 kg of Chunks is 5 × 10 kg = ₹29,995, 50 kg of CSI 464 is ₹25,370 — and recurring volumes are quoted on WhatsApp without a promised figure. The CSI 464 description mentions a 25 kg format that is not a listed variant; if a 25 kg bag suits your storage, ask.

When you message for wholesale pricing, send the exact wax names, bags per month of each, whether you will run both waxes, your GSTIN and your delivery pincode, and ask for the MSDS for the wax and IFRA documentation for your luxury oils at the same time. CSI 464's stated 60-month shelf life in cool, dry storage makes it the easier of the two to hold as buffer stock; Chunks' page states no shelf life, so keep that stock to your reorder point and reseal opened bags after each weighing. Oil families for luxury lines are covered in five fragrance oils for a luxury candle collection.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials; it does not make finished candles and it is not a wax manufacturer. Both waxes in this guide carry the word "Luxury", and the easy sales line would be to push the dearer one. Instead the guide shows that the price gap is under 5% of a boxed luxury candle, that CSI 464's page makes the stronger finish claims, and that the real luxury money is in the oil and the glass — because a luxury brand that spends in the right place is one that stays in business and keeps reordering.

Every price, pack and specification is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, which always takes precedence. Loads and temperatures are quoted as stated — Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 8–13%; CSI 464 up to 10%, melt and pour 80–90°C — and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Jar hot-pour limits, wick descriptions and fills are quoted from their pages; descriptive claims are identified as claims to test.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464?
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks state an 8–13% load (10% recommended), fragrance added at 80–90°C and a 70–80°C / 75–80°C pour, at ₹5,999 per 10 kg. CSI 464 is a flake wax stating up to 10%, melt and pour 80–90°C and a 60-month shelf life, at ₹5,074 per 10 kg. Choose Chunks for loads above 10%; CSI 464 for 8–10% lines at lower cost.
Which soy wax is best for luxury candles in India?
It depends on your oils and glass. For heavy luxury scents you may pour above 10%, or for jars stated safe to 85°C, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — its stated pour sits under that limit. For luxury lines at 8–10%, especially large 500–700g vessels, CSI 464 saves ₹41.63–₹58.28 per candle, poured at 80–85°C in 85°C-rated glass. Test both in your jar first.
How much does the wax cost in a luxury candle?
Less than most people expect. In a boxed 500g apothecary candle at 10%, CSI 464 costs ₹228.33 of ₹894.43 — 25.5% — and Luxury Soy Chunks ₹269.96. White Royal Oud at 10% is ₹405.15 (45%), and the apothecary jar ₹212.40 (24%). Box, tissue, care sticker, wick and wick sticker add ₹48.55. Oil and glass decide luxury cost; the wax decision is worth ₹41.63 a candle.
How many luxury candles does a 10 kg bag of soy wax make?
At 10%, about 22 × 500g apothecary candles on paper (450g of wax each), or 21 once you allow about 5% for spills and top-ups. The same bag makes 15 × 700g apothecary candles (630g each), 18 × 600g borosilicate candles or 74 × 150g jars. The count is the same for both Luxury waxes at the same load; only the bag price differs, ₹5,074 or ₹5,999.
Can I pour Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 into an apothecary jar rated to 85°C?
Yes, within a narrower window. CSI 464's page states a pour of 80–90°C; the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid is stated safe for hot-pour up to 85°C. Pour at 80–85°C, checked with a thermometer, and warm the jars to room temperature first rather than pouring hotter. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, stated at 70–80°C or 75–80°C, leave more margin.
Is luxury soy wax available in 25 kg bags?
Not as a listed pack. Both Luxury waxes are listed up to 10 kg — ₹5,999 for Chunks and ₹5,074 for CSI 464. The CSI 464 description mentions a 25 kg format, so ask on WhatsApp whether it is available for your order. At listed prices, 25 kg as 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg is ₹12,685 for CSI 464 and ₹14,993 for Chunks.
