What CSI's Vybar page actually states

Vybar is one of the most discussed additives in candle making and one of the most misunderstood, partly because makers carry dosing habits from paraffin into soy, where the page's own guidance is lower. CSI's product page is unusually specific, so the fastest route to using it well is to take every stated line at face value and separate it from the claims that belong in a test. The table below is the full list of what the page states that affects how much you buy and how you use it.

The page also describes what Vybar is for: improving fragrance retention, creating smooth, glossy surfaces, preventing mottling and sweating, and enhancing hardness and burn quality, and it lists compatibility with soy, paraffin and wax blends. Those are the effects the product is sold to deliver, and they tell you what to look for in a test. They are not a substitute for the test, because the wax, the fragrance oil, the dye and the cure all interact with any additive. A soy jar that already has a smooth top and good throw at day 14 has nothing for Vybar to fix.

One label on the page deserves a second look. The 100 g pack is described as "Best Value", but ₹156 ÷ 50 g and ₹312 ÷ 100 g are both ₹3.12 per gram. Series standard: fragrance load is 8% of the finished candle, so the wax is 92% of it — 184 g in a 200 g candle — and Vybar is calculated as a percentage of that wax weight, following the page's own example. The table covers the candle sizes most Indian candle businesses pour, from 70 g votives to 500 g statement jars.

The table also answers a costing question makers often get backwards. Vybar's rupee cost scales with the wax, so a large jar carries far more of it than a votive: ₹14.35 in a 500 g jar at 1% against ₹2.01 in a 70 g votive. If you sell a range of sizes, cost Vybar per SKU from this table rather than applying one flat "additive allowance" to every product.

How much wax a 50 g or 100 g pack treats

This is the number a supplier page rarely makes explicit, and it is the one that decides your order. The page gives yield as a range — 50 g "Approx. 25–100 candles", 100 g "Approx. 50–200 candles", depending on batch size. The range is wide because candle size and rate change the answer. Here it is worked out exactly, so you can find the row that matches your product.

Set that against the page's ranges and they line up: the stated "25–100" for 50 g sits close to the 27–155 spread above at 1% and 0.5%, and the stated "50–200" for 100 g sits close to 54–310. The practical rule that drops out is the one worth pinning above your melter: one 100 g pack per 10 kg bag of wax at 1%, one 50 g pack per 10 kg bag at 0.5%. If your soy recipe settles at 0.5%, the 50 g pack is the natural partner for every 10 kg bag you buy, and the larger pack simply means fewer orders.

Cost per candle, wax by wax

The meaningful comparison is not Vybar's price per gram, which is high, but its share of what the wax in the candle already costs. The table uses each wax's 1 kg listed price for a 200 g candle at 8% (184 g of wax), and applies only the Vybar rates the page states for that wax type.

Two conclusions. On every CSI soy and coconut-soy container wax, Vybar at the stated soy rates adds ₹2.87–₹5.74 — a small share of a candle that also carries a jar, a wick and its fragrance oil — ₹49.09 of British Rose or ₹83.54 of Lavender at 1 kg pricing for 16 g. Cost is not a reason to avoid testing it. On paraffin, where the page's range doubles, Vybar at 2% is ₹11.48 — nearly a fifth of the wax cost — which is exactly why paraffin makers should test 1% before assuming they need 2%. If the 1% candle passes, you have halved the additive line on every candle for the life of the product.

Vybar and the waxes it is stated for

Vybar is only ever as good as the wax it goes into. These cards show Vybar itself and two waxes that sit at opposite ends of its stated range — a soy container wax at 0.5–1% and a paraffin at 1–2%. Each size table shows every listed pack.

A Vybar test answers one question: does it improve this candle, in this wax, with this oil and dye, enough to justify a permanent line on the costing sheet?
