Indian candle businesses buy equipment through six broad channels. We describe them by type rather than naming sellers: the point is to know what each channel is good for and where the risks sit, so you can send each item on your list to the right place. None of this depends on who the seller is — the same strengths and traps apply to all of them.

The pattern is clear enough to act on. Channels 1 and 5 cover almost everything a professional container-candle room needs: the specialist for anything that touches wax, the local shop for structure. Channels 2, 3 and 6 are useful for specific items but put more of the checking burden on you. Run these six checks on every piece of equipment above a few hundred rupees, from any channel. Each takes a minute with the product page open, and a message to the seller for whatever the page does not answer.

A checklist is only credible if the supplier recommending it passes its own listings through it. Here are CSI's main equipment pages against the first four checks, using only what each page states. Where a page is silent, the table says so; spares and service are not stated on any of these pages and should be confirmed on WhatsApp for the melters.

Two honest readings of that table. First, the listing that states the most — capacity, temperature, warranty and power — is the smallest and cheapest melter. The production melter states capacity and temperature clearly but not warranty or power, so for a ₹21,240 or ₹25,960 purchase, those are the two questions to send before you order. Second, several tool pages leave out a capacity or range. That does not make them unsuitable; it means you verify on arrival — weigh a full pitcher, check the thermometer against a known reference, find your scale's limit — before a production batch depends on them.

Why warranty and spares matter more at production scale

For a hobbyist, a failed melter is an annoyance. For a production room, it is lost output, and the cost scales with your daily volume. The arithmetic is simple and uses your own numbers: candles per pour day × pour days the equipment is out of action. As an illustration only — both numbers are assumptions — a room pouring 100 candles a day that loses its only production melter for five pour days has lost 500 candles of output, before any late orders are counted. That is why the warranty and spares questions deserve an answer before you buy, not after something breaks.
