Which has the highest fragrance load? Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468, both stated at 13%.
Which is cheapest per kg? Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00.
Is premium worth it? The premium adds about ₹43.79 of wax to a 200 g candle.
"Best" depends on the candle. Our older guide explains what makes a soy wax good; this page is the shortcut — one row per job (everyday jars, luxury jars, budget runs, pillars, bulk) and the wax that wins each row.
The best CSI soy wax, job by job
| Job | Best CSI wax | Why | Wax / 200 g candle | Runner-up |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Everyday container jars | Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) | Single pour, stated 10% load, flakes | ₹93.36 | Eco Soy CSI 400 |
| Strongest scent capacity | Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | Highest stated load (13%) | ₹110.03 | Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes) |
| Luxury finish | Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes) | Coconut-soy, stated 13%, stated 58–60°C pour | ₹117.21 | Luxury Soy Wax Chunks |
| Lowest wax cost per candle | Eco Soy CSI 400 | ₹399.00/kg; packs to 5 kg only | ₹73.42 | Natural Soy Pearl Wax |
| Large runs on one wax | Natural Soy Pearl Wax | ₹424.80/kg from 5 kg; 50 kg pack | ₹78.16 | Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) |
| Pillars and moulds | Soy Pillar Wax | Made for pillar and designer moulds | ₹110.40 | Beeswax Pellets (white or yellow) |
The costs in the matrix use each wax's lowest listed per-kg price. The spread across container waxes is ₹73.42 to ₹117.21 of wax per 200 g candle — about ₹43.79 between the cheapest and the premium choice.
How to break a tie between two waxes
Best in which month? Matching the CSI wax to the Indian year
The decision matrix picks a winner for each job. It does not ask when the candle will be poured, shipped and burned. In India that can change the answer, or at least change how you use the winner.
April to June: the heat test
North and west Indian summers routinely reach 40–45°C. That is below the stated 50–53°C melt point of Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes), but not by a wide margin, and a parcel or a shop shelf can run hotter than the air. Heat is also when heavily loaded candles sweat. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468 both state loads up to 13%, but a stated maximum is a formulation limit, the most the wax is said to hold. It is not a target. For summer stock, start at the 8% convention and climb only if the throw is genuinely weak.
June to September: the humid months
Monsoon humidity mostly changes your working conditions rather than your wax choice: damp cartons, slow-drying labels, jars that must be completely dry before they are warmed. Keep wax bags sealed between pours. None of the six soy choices is a monsoon wax. The discipline is what matters.
North Indian winters: the frosting months
Winter nights can drop near 5°C, and that is when soy candles are most likely to show frosting, the pale crystalline bloom a natural vegetable wax can form. It is cosmetic; the candle burns the same. But if your buyers are in the north and your product photographs were taken in a mild Pune autumn, test a candle in the cold before a winter launch and describe the finish honestly.
Pillars in summer
Soy Pillar Wax is the matrix pick for moulds, and Lalitha Jagan wrote in her review, "This wax is really good to make pillar candles and for moulds." A pillar has no jar to hold it, though, and heat can make soft pillars slump. Its product page publishes no melt point, so ask CSI on WhatsApp before you plan a summer pillar range, and keep finished pillars in the coolest room you have.
Where this page fits
This page overlaps an older CSI guide, so it takes a narrower job and leaves the rest to that guide.

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We publish every pack price, so every per-kilogram and per-candle figure here can be checked against the product pages — including the ones that show a bigger bag is not cheaper.
Prices are taken from live CSI stock in September 2026. Where a product page does not publish a specification, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.

Order plans add a 5% wastage allowance (10% where stated for festive buffers). "Cheapest listed packs" is the lowest-cost combination of listed pack sizes, preferring fewer bags when prices tie within a few rupees. Candle counts are rounded down. Costs are core materials only and exclude jar, label, packaging, labour, freight and GST unless stated. Wax stated fragrance maximums are the wax maker's formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Pack sizes not listed on the store (2, 20, 25, 100 kg) are shown as combinations of listed packs; larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
