Wording is unedited. None of these reviews describes a startup budget or a first sellable collection — they are reviews of individual materials, nothing more, and none of them is evidence about what ₹10,000 will do.

Candle Business Budgets · ₹10,000
The word "selling" changes the whole answer. A 150 g candle costs ₹214.71 in CSI materials, so ₹10,000 is 46 of them — and 32 once burn tests, retained samples and rejects come out. Here is the arithmetic, both routes, and a purchase list to the rupee.
₹214.71
materials per 150 g candle · 138 g CSI 464 + 12 g British Rose + jar + wick + two stickers · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does one 150 g candle cost in materials? ₹214.71: 138 g of CSI 464 wax (₹70.02), 12 g of British Rose at 100 g pricing (₹41.06), a Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 150 g (₹94.40), an Eco Wick Thin C1 (₹5.90), a wick sticker (₹2.50) and a care sticker (₹0.83).

So how many does ₹10,000 make? ₹10,000 ÷ ₹214.71 = 46 candles of materials, if you already own a thermometer, scale and pitcher. Take out nine burn tests, three retained samples and two rejects: 32 sellable units, about ten per fragrance.

Three fragrances or one? Both are costed below in real packs. Three fragrances plus bench tools lands at ₹8,289.88 and 11 sellable units; one fragrance with the same tools, ₹9,245.40 and 24. Three fragrances is not wrong — it buys range and pays in depth.

What is the biggest line? The jar, at 44.0% of ₹214.71. Fragrance is 19.1%. Most first budgets have this the other way round.
The short answer
Split it like this, in real packs: jars ₹2,832.00 · wax ₹1,782.20 · three 100 g fragrance oils ₹1,144.88 · wicks ₹483.80 · wick and care stickers ₹513.00 · bench tools ₹1,534.00. Total ₹8,289.88, remainder ₹1,710.12 — hold that back for labels and outer packaging, because CSI sells no printed labels, boxes, cartons, cushioning or tape and this page does not price them.
Buy 100 g fragrance bottles, not 500 g or 1 kg. Three 1 kg bottles of these oils is ₹10,926.80 — more than the entire budget, on fragrance alone. Three 100 g bottles is ₹1,144.88 and the per-gram premium over 500 g is ₹39.60 in total.
Pick a wax that publishes a ceiling. CSI 464 states up to 10%, Luxury Soy Chunks up to 13%, Coconut Soy CSI 468 up to 13%. The other thirteen CSI waxes publish none. Note that 8% of a 150 g finished candle is 8.70% of wax weight — write down which convention you mean before you order.

Where ₹214.71 goes on one 150 g soy candle — and what a ₹12.60 jar step costs you CLEAR GLASS JAR WITH GOLDEN LID ₹94.40 · ₹214.71 PER CANDLE · ₹10,000 OF MATERIALS = 46 Jar ₹94.40 · 44.0% Wax ₹70.02 · 32.6% Oil ₹41.06 BLACK GLASS JAR WITH BLACK LID ₹107.00 · ₹227.31 PER CANDLE · ₹10,000 OF MATERIALS = 43 Jar ₹107.00 · 47.1% Wax ₹70.02 · 30.8% Oil ₹41.06 Both bars are drawn to the same scale. The two narrow blocks at the right of each bar are the Eco Wick Thin C1 at ₹5.90 and the wick sticker plus care sticker at ₹3.33 combined. 150 g candle, 8% of finished weight: 12 g British Rose + 138 g CSI 464.
The jar is the largest single line on a 150 g candle — ₹94.40 of ₹214.71, or 44.0% — and the fragrance only the third largest at 19.1%. Stepping to the ₹107.00 black jar in the same 150 g lidded family adds ₹12.60 a candle and takes ₹10,000 from 46 units to 43. Every figure plotted is a live CSI variant price, September 2026.
Straight answer
How should ₹10,000 be split across wax, fragrance oils, jars and wicks for 150 g soy candles in three fragrances?
In real CSI packs: ₹2,832.00 on jars (three packs of ten Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid 150 g, bought as a 20 and a 10), ₹1,782.20 on wax (three 1 kg and one 500 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464), ₹1,144.88 on fragrance (100 g each of British Rose ₹342.20, Citrus Lemon ₹300.00 and Sandalwood ₹502.68), ₹483.80 on wicks (fifty Eco Wick Thin C1 and twenty Thick C2 for testing), ₹513.00 on wick and care stickers, and ₹1,534.00 on the four bench tools you cannot work without. That is ₹8,289.88, and it is 25 candles of capacity. Nine burn tests, three retained samples and two rejects later it is 11 sellable units. The same ₹10,000 on one fragrance is ₹9,245.40 and 24 sellable units. Both lists are below, with the remainder held back for labels and boxes, which are not on any CSI invoice. If your wax, wick and jar are not settled yet, spend part of this on testing and come back — that is the honest answer and it sells us less.
One line: ₹214.71 a candle means ₹10,000 is 46 units of materials and 32 sellable ones, so at this budget three fragrances buys range and pays for it in depth — one fragrance gives you 24 sellable units against 11.
The cheapest line to be generous with is the wick. Eco Wick Thin (C1) is flat at ₹5.90 a wick at every pack size from 10 to 1,000 — ₹59.00 for ten, ₹295.00 for fifty, ₹590.00 for a hundred — so spares and a second test quantity cost almost nothing. Be generous there and tight on wax.

The sum you have not done

Almost nobody asking this has multiplied one candle out and then subtracted the ones they will never sell. Do that first; it decides everything else.

Start with the candle. A 150 g finished candle at 8% fragrance load is 12 g of oil and 138 g of wax. That is the whole formulation; every rupee below comes from those two numbers plus a vessel, a wick and two stickers. Here is a named build at live CSI prices, chosen because every component is in stock and every pack exists.

Per-candle materials · 150 g soy candle at 8% of finished weight
Named build · CSI live pricing, September 2026 · every line traceable to a product page
Line Product and pack Rate Per candle Share
Jar Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 g), ₹944.00 per 10 ₹94.40 each ₹94.40 44.0%
Wax Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, ₹507.40 per 1 kg ₹0.5074 / g × 138 g ₹70.02 32.6%
Fragrance British Rose, ₹342.20 per 100 g ₹3.422 / g × 12 g ₹41.06 19.1%
Wick Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1), ₹295.00 per 50 ₹5.90 each ₹5.90 2.7%
Wick sticker Candle Wick Stickers, ₹100.00 per sheet of 40 ₹2.50 each ₹2.50 1.2%
Care sticker Candle Care Stickers Roll, ₹413.00 per 500 (1 inch) ₹0.83 each ₹0.83 0.4%
Total Six lines, all in stock, all in packs that exist — ₹214.71 100%

Now divide. ₹10,000 ÷ ₹214.71 = 46.57, so 46 candles. That already assumes two things in your favour: that you own a thermometer, scale and pitcher, and that packs divide perfectly into 46 units. Neither is usually true. Take 46 as the optimistic figure and subtract what cannot be sold.

Three fragrances means three sets of burn tests, not one. Wick behaviour changes with the oil in the wax, so a wick proved on rose is not proved on sandalwood. Allow three test candles per fragrance — nine units gone before anything is for sale. Then one retained sample per fragrance, three more: if a customer writes in two months saying a candle tunnelled, a maker who kept nothing from that batch has nothing to light, weigh or compare, and cannot investigate the complaint at all. Then a reject allowance for sinkholes, an off-centre wick, a chipped rim. Two is thin, and it is your number, not ours — CSI publishes no wastage or loss percentage, so measure your own on the first batch by weight.
The honest sellable count
46 candles of materials − 9 burn tests − 3 retained samples − 2 rejects = 32 sellable units.
Across three fragrances that is about ten or eleven of each. It is a smaller number than almost anybody expects from ₹10,000, and it is the real answer to the question. It is also the optimistic version: once tools and real pack sizes enter, the three-fragrance route lands at 11.

One thing has to be settled before any purchase, because it changes the quantity you order. 8% of what? Here it means 8% of the finished candle: 12 g of oil in 150 g. If you meant 8% of the wax, the same candle is 11.11 g of oil and 138.89 g of wax — 0.89 g a candle, or ₹3.04 at British Rose 100 g pricing. Trivial once; on a thousand candles it is 889 g of oil. Note too that 12 g in 138 g of wax is 8.70% of wax weight, so a maker working to "8% of the finished candle" in CSI 464 has less headroom against that wax's 10% ceiling than they think. Write the convention on the recipe sheet before you order — CSI's own catalogue uses both, and Luxury Soy Chunks states its 13% ceiling as a percentage of total wax weight.

The fork: three fragrances thin, or one fragrance deep

This is your decision, not our verdict. But it has to be made with the unit counts in front of you, because at ₹10,000 the thing that runs out is depth.

Both routes are costed in packs that exist, to the rupee, with the same four bench tools so the comparison is fair. Both carry a second wick size for testing, because Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) at ₹188.80 for twenty is the cheapest useful insurance on the list. Neither includes a rupee of packaging, for the reason given below.

Route A · three fragrances · worked purchase list
Every line is a real CSI variant in stock on the pull date

Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 150 g Pack of 20 ₹1,888.00 20 jars

Bamboo Stirring Sticks Pack of 5 ₹118.00 One-off
Total 15 lines ₹8,289.88 Remainder ₹1,710.12

Route A capacity: 25 candles. The binding constraint is the fragrance — 300 g at 12 g a candle is 25 — and the jars (30) and wax (3,500 g, also 25) are matched to it deliberately. Subtract nine burn tests, three retained samples and two rejects: 11 sellable units across three fragrances, three or four of each. The ₹1,710.12 remainder is not slack; it is the money for labels and outer packaging, which CSI does not sell.

Route B · one fragrance · worked purchase list

Route B capacity: 30 candles, limited by the jars this time, with wax for 32 and oil for 41 in hand. Three burn tests, one retained sample and two rejects leave 24 sellable units of one fragrance — 2.18 times Route A from the same ₹10,000, and a tested product rather than three half-tested ones. Note the oil line: with one scent settled, the 500 g pack at ₹3.186 per gram beats four 100 g bottles at ₹3.422 on both price and quantity, ₹1,593.00 for 500 g against ₹1,368.80 for 400 g. That logic only works after the scent is chosen.

Three fragrances is a legitimate choice. Here is what it costs.
Range is real: a first market stall needs more than one jar on the table, and a customer who dislikes rose may buy lemon. Route A buys that, and nobody should tell you it is wrong. What it costs is 13 sellable units and most of your testing confidence — three or four units per scent is not enough to learn from, replace a breakage, or fill a repeat order. At ₹10,000 the money runs out on depth, not variety. Choose knowing which you are buying.
Before you order anything, confirm stock and current lead time. CSI publishes no dispatch or delivery time, so do not build a market date around a guess — ask, and get the answer in writing. GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation are all handled on the same thread.

Where the money actually goes — and the finding that surprises most beginners

On a 150 g candle the jar is usually the largest single line on the invoice. Not the fragrance.

Look again at the per-candle table. The jar is ₹94.40 of ₹214.71 — 44.0%; the wax 32.6%; the fragrance, the line everyone agonises over, 19.1%; wick and both stickers together 4.3%. If you want more units for your ₹10,000, the jar is where the leverage is. Here is a like-for-like comparison.

Like-for-like · both are 150 g lidded glass jars, same capacity family
What the jar choice does to the unit count ₹10,000 supports
Jar Pack pricing Per jar Jar share of candle Candle cost ₹10,000 buys
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 g) ₹944.00 / 10 · ₹1,888.00 / 20 ₹94.40 44.0% ₹214.71 46
Black Glass Jar with Black Lid (150 g) ₹1,070.00 / 10 · ₹2,140.00 / 20 ₹107.00 47.1% ₹227.31 43

A ₹12.60 difference per jar costs you three candles. Compare the fragrance decision in the same build: swapping British Rose for Citrus Lemon at ₹3.00 per gram saves ₹5.06 a candle and gains one unit, 46 to 47. So between two realistic jars and two realistic volume oils, the jar is the bigger decision. We will not overstate it: stepping the oil up to Sandalwood at ₹5.0268 per gram adds ₹19.26 a candle and costs four units, 46 down to 42 — slightly more than the jar step. The jar is the largest single line, and among like-for-like swaps the biggest lever; a jump across fragrance tiers can beat it. Both deserve the same arithmetic.

A much cheaper vessel exists, and it is not like-for-like. The 200ml Salsa Glass Jar with a 63 mm lug cap is ₹1,475.00 for 50 pieces, or ₹29.50 each. Substituted into the same build the candle falls to ₹149.81 and ₹10,000 buys 66 instead of 46 — twenty more units than any other decision here. Read the caveat properly, though: "200 ml" is a volume, not a 150 g fill. CSI publishes no fill weight for that jar, so until you have poured one and weighed it the comparison is void. The 150 g lidded family is the right starting point precisely because its fill weight is stated in the product title — and even there, pour one and weigh it before you commit the budget, because a glass shoulder eats capacity.

Two more notes on the jar line. The lid is included on the 150 g family — read the product title and never budget a lid separately, because CSI sells no standalone lids. And glass needs a buffer where wax does not: jars break in transit and on the bench, a kilogram of wax does not evaporate. Both lists above carry five spare jars and no spare wax, and that asymmetry is deliberate. A flat percentage buffer across every line is the wrong model.

At 150 g, you are not in the fragrance business. You are in the glass business with a fragrance problem.

The fragrance arithmetic for three scents, in packs that exist

At 12 g a candle, a bottle goes further than most people expect. CSI's fragrance ladder is 15 g / 50 g / 100 g / 500 g / 1 kg at most, and not every oil carries every rung — Tobacco Vanilla starts at 100 g, Mint Sandalwood and Vanilla Orange Blossom have no 500 g, and several Royal-line oils skip 15 g and 50 g. Check the listing before planning around a size. There is no pack above 1 kg in the catalogue.

12 g per candle · three real oils, three real pack sizes
How far a bottle goes, and what the fragrance costs per candle at each tier
Oil 100 g 500 g 1 kg Candles per bottle (100 g / 500 g / 1 kg)
British Rose ₹342.20 · ₹41.06 / candle ₹1,593.00 · ₹38.23 / candle ₹3,068.00 · ₹36.82 / candle 8 / 41 / 83
Citrus Lemon ₹300.00 · ₹36.00 / candle ₹1,420.00 · ₹34.08 / candle ₹2,832.00 · ₹33.98 / candle 8 / 41 / 83
Sandalwood ₹502.68 · ₹60.32 / candle ₹2,513.40 · ₹60.32 / candle ₹5,026.80 · ₹60.32 / candle 8 / 41 / 83

Two facts jump out. Sandalwood is flat at ₹5.0268 per gram at 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg — ₹502.68, ₹2,513.40 and ₹5,026.80 are the same rate three times over, so there the kilogram buys nothing but fewer parcels. On the other two the saving from stepping up is small: British Rose falls from ₹3.422 to ₹3.068 per gram, 10.3%; Citrus Lemon from ₹3.00 to ₹2.832, 5.6%. CSI publishes no quantity discount, no price slab, no rate card, no minimum order quantity and no credit term — that ladder is the whole of it. If you were bracing to negotiate a bulk price, there is nothing to negotiate, which frees this decision from price entirely and makes it a cash-and-risk question.

1
What three kilograms would cost youOne kilogram each of British Rose, Citrus Lemon and Sandalwood is ₹3,068.00 + ₹2,832.00 + ₹5,026.80 = ₹10,926.80. That is ₹926.80 more than the entire budget, spent on fragrance alone, with nothing left for wax, jars, wicks or a thermometer. It is 250 candles of oil for a maker who can only make 30. It is not a near miss; it is the wrong purchase by a wide margin.
2
What three half-kilograms would cost you₹1,593.00 + ₹1,420.00 + ₹2,513.40 = ₹5,526.40, which is 55.3% of the budget on fragrance and 125 candles' worth of oil. Jars alone for 125 candles would be ₹11,800.00 at ₹94.40 each. So the oil would sit on the shelf — and an opened bottle of a scent you turn out not to want is money you cannot get back.
3
What three 100 g bottles cost you, and the premium for buying small₹342.20 + ₹300.00 + ₹502.68 = ₹1,144.88, 11.4% of the budget, 25 candles of oil — matched to the 30 jars and 3,500 g of wax beside it. The premium for buying 100 g instead of the 500 g rate is ₹23.60 on British Rose, ₹16.00 on Citrus Lemon and ₹0.00 on Sandalwood: ₹39.60 in total, or 3.5% of the fragrance spend. You are paying ₹39.60 to avoid committing ₹5,526.40. That is the trade, quantified both ways, and at this budget it is almost always worth taking.
4
And if you want to test more than three scents, go smaller stillMost oils carry 15 g and 50 g rungs. British Rose is ₹94.40 for 15 g and ₹212.40 for 50 g; Citrus Lemon is ₹81.42 and ₹170.00. A 50 g bottle is four candles of a scent, which is enough to judge cold throw, hot throw and discolouration before a single rupee goes into inventory. We would rather sell you small bottles twice than one kilogram once, because the second order only happens if the first one worked.
The dead-stock arithmetic, stated plainly
A kilogram of a scent that you later decide not to sell is not a 10% pricing mistake. It is a total loss of ₹3,068.00 to ₹5,026.80 on one of these three oils, which is between 31% and 50% of the whole budget. The per-gram premium on 100 g bottles is ₹39.60. Weigh ₹39.60 against ₹5,026.80 and the decision makes itself. This is the one place on the page where the cheaper purchase for you is also the smaller sale for us, and we are still recommending it.

The lines that are easy to forget, the ceiling, and the tools

A budget that claims to cover a launch and omits labels is not a budget. Here is what the two tables do and do not contain.

In both lists, and routinely left out of first budgets: Candle Wick Stickers at ₹100.00 for a sheet of 40, ₹2.50 a candle — the 100-sticker sheet is out of stock, so plan on the 40 — and the Candle Care Stickers Roll at ₹413.00 per 500 one-inch stickers (₹0.83 each) or ₹699.00 per 1,000 at 1.5 inch (₹0.70). Together ₹3.33 a candle, 1.6% of the build — the difference between a finished product and a jar of wax.

Not in either list, because CSI does not sell them. There are no standalone lids, no retail or gift boxes, no shipping cartons, no printed labels, no box inserts, no cushioning and no packing tape anywhere in the catalogue. Not one. They are real lines on your bill of materials and this page will not invent a price for them. A maker who intends to sell needs at least a printed label, usually an outer box, and something to stop the glass moving in a courier bag. Get those figures from your own printer and packaging supplier before you tell yourself ₹10,000 covers a launch — which is why Route A's ₹1,710.12 remainder is reserved, not spent. One exception: the 150 g jar family includes its lid, so never budget that twice.

Choose a wax that publishes a ceiling. Only three of CSI's sixteen waxes state a maximum fragrance load: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13% of total wax weight, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10%, and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 up to 13%. The other thirteen publish none. These are formulation limits set by the wax maker, not regulatory limits — but a published ceiling gives you a documented number to work inside, which is worth having on a first sellable product. On 138 g of wax per candle: CSI 464 ₹70.02, Luxury Soy Chunks ₹82.66, Coconut Soy CSI 468 ₹89.70. CSI 464 is the cheapest with a stated ceiling, which is why both routes use it.

The cheaper wax, and what you give up
Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00 per kg is the cheapest soy per kilogram in the catalogue — ₹55.06 of wax per candle against ₹70.02 for CSI 464, saving ₹14.96 a candle or ₹448.80 across a 30-candle run. That is real money at this budget. What you give up is the published ceiling: Eco Soy CSI 400 states none, so you cannot work to a documented limit and we will not imply one for you. Its ladder also stops at 5 kg, and its 5 kg pack (₹1,996.00, ₹399.20/kg) is fractionally dearer per kilogram than its 1 kg. Worth knowing; your call.

Tools, if you do not own them. A Pen Thermometer at ₹354.00 and a Candle Making Weighing Scale at ₹354.00 are not optional on a page about repeatability: load is a weight percentage, so millilitres will not repeat, and pour temperature decides the finish. Add the Steel Pouring Pitcher, Large 600 ML, ₹708.00 — the 150 ML size is out of stock — and Bamboo Stirring Sticks at ₹118.00 for five: ₹1,534.00 for the four. CSI's published starter set, which also includes the CSI Pro Mixer at ₹349.00, is ₹1,883.00.

The budget with and without tools. With them, Route A is ₹8,289.88 and Route B is ₹9,245.40. Without them — if you already own a thermometer, a scale and a pitcher — Route A drops to ₹6,755.88 and Route B to ₹7,711.40, freeing ₹1,534.00 in each case. In candle terms the tool set costs 7.14 candles of materials at ₹214.71 each, and it is 15.3% of the entire ₹10,000. If you are buying tools out of this budget, say so in the plan rather than discovering it at checkout.

Finally, the part that works against us. If your wax, wick and jar are not yet settled, you should not be buying for sale at all. Spend ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 on 15 g and 50 g fragrance samples, one jar pack, a kilogram of wax and both wick sizes; pour, cure, burn, record; come back for inventory once you know what you are making. Committing the whole ₹10,000 before the formula is settled buys the wrong thing. CSI publishes no pricing guidance, no recommended margin and no suggested retail price, and nothing here predicts what will sell — these are materials counts, not a forecast. For the pricing side, how to price candles in India, whether candle making is actually profitable and what it actually costs to start cover it properly.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page like this the commercially convenient advice would be "buy the kilogram and run three fragrances". We have told you the opposite twice: at ₹10,000, fewer fragrances and more units is usually the better purchase, and 100 g bottles usually beat 500 g ones even though they are dearer per gram. Both of those recommendations sell less fragrance oil than the alternative.

Every price, pack size and ceiling on this page is a live CSI variant price from September 2026 and links to its product page, where current pricing and availability always take precedence. Out-of-stock variants have been excluded, and where a size does not exist it is named as not existing rather than estimated. CSI publishes no wastage percentage, no dispatch or delivery time, no minimum order quantity, no price slab and no quantity discount, so none appears here. The fragrance ceilings quoted are the wax manufacturers' stated formulation limits, not regulatory limits.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one 150 g soy candle cost to make in India?
For the build on this page, ₹214.71 in materials at CSI September 2026 pricing: 138 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹70.02, 12 g of British Rose at 100 g pricing at ₹41.06, a Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 g) at ₹94.40, an Eco Wick Thin C1 at ₹5.90, a wick sticker at ₹2.50 and a care sticker at ₹0.83. That figure excludes a printed label, an outer box, cushioning and tape, none of which CSI sells — cost those from your own suppliers.
How many candles will ₹10,000 actually make?
46 candles of materials at ₹214.71 each, if you already own a thermometer, scale and pitcher and if packs divided perfectly. Subtract nine burn tests across three fragrances, three retained samples and two rejects and 32 are sellable. In real pack sizes with tools included it is tighter still: the three-fragrance list on this page comes to ₹8,289.88 for 11 sellable units, and the one-fragrance list comes to ₹9,245.40 for 24 sellable units.
Should I launch with three fragrances or one on a ₹10,000 budget?
That is your decision and both are legitimate, but the unit counts are not close. Three fragrances gives you range and about three or four sellable units of each. One fragrance gives you 24 sellable units of a properly tested product from the same money — 2.18 times as many. Three fragrances also means three sets of burn tests and three retained samples, because a wick proved on one oil is not proved on another. At ₹10,000 the money runs out on depth, not on variety.
Should I buy 100 g, 500 g or 1 kg fragrance bottles to start?
100 g, in almost every case, even though it is dearer per gram. Three 100 g bottles of British Rose, Citrus Lemon and Sandalwood is ₹1,144.88. Three 500 g bottles is ₹5,526.40 — 55.3% of the budget. Three 1 kg bottles is ₹10,926.80, more than the whole budget on fragrance alone. The premium for buying 100 g instead of the 500 g rate across those three is ₹39.60 in total, paid to avoid committing ₹5,526.40 to scents you have not sold. Sandalwood is flat at ₹5.0268 per gram at 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg, so there the premium is nil. CSI's ladder stops at 1 kg.
Which is the biggest cost on a 150 g candle — the wax or the fragrance?
Neither. The jar is, at ₹94.40 of ₹214.71, or 44.0%. Wax is 32.6% and fragrance 19.1%. Moving between two jars in the same 150 g lidded family — ₹94.40 against ₹107.00 — changes the candle by ₹12.60 and costs three units out of ₹10,000. For comparison, swapping British Rose for the cheaper Citrus Lemon gains one unit. A jump up to Sandalwood costs four. All three decisions deserve the same arithmetic, and most first budgets only do it on the fragrance.
Does a "200 ml" jar hold 150 g of wax?
You cannot assume so — millilitres are a volume, 150 g is a weight. Most CSI jar families publish no fill capacity, so pour one jar, weigh the wax it takes and work from that. The 150 g lidded family states its fill weight in the product title, which is why this page builds on it. The 200ml Salsa Glass Jar at ₹29.50 each in a pack of 50 would transform the budget if it takes 150 g, but no fill weight is published for it — verify first. Jar pack sizes vary across 1, 5, 6, 10, 12, 20, 50 and 100 pieces, so always read the listing.
