Product Brief · Five-Scent Collection
Treat the collection as one platform and five scents. The wax, jar, wick and stickers are bought once, as totals, and only if they pass with every scent. The fragrance is the one thing you vary — so each oil stays its own stock, rounded and reordered on its own.
₹47.58–₹111.77
oil cost per illustrative 180 g candle at 8% across the five scents, on the same shared platform · CSI live pricing, pulled 24 September 2026, stock re-checked 4 October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What should be shared? Wax, jar, wick type and stickers — bought once as totals — if all five scents pass in them.

What stays separate? The five oils: one order per scent, from that scent's own count, rounded to its own cheapest bottles.

Which wax and jar? Decided by a 20-candle panel. CSI 464 (10%) is cheaper; Chunks (13%) has more headroom. Salsa with cap is ₹8,720.20 cheaper than White Matte here.

What does it cost? Panel ₹5,874.46; production ₹42,445.44 in CSI 464 with Salsa jars.
The short answer
Answer: Choose one wax, one jar and one wick type that pass with all five scents; buy them as single totals. Keep five oil stocks, each rounded per scent. Here: ₹42,445.44 for 200 candles.
Why: Shared base materials cut reorders and part-used stock; the fragrance is the variable, and each oil has its own price ladder and sell-through.
Method: Panel: 5 scents × 2 waxes × 2 candles → weakest-scent rule → platform totals rounded once → five oil orders → wick in production quantity after the burn.
Five scents on one platform: share the base, keep the fragrance apart 200 candles × illustrative 180 g · 8% · one wax, one jar, one wick type, one sticker · five separate oil stocks Lavender 630 g in 4 bottles ₹3,370.04 Vanilla Bean 630 g in 4 bottles ₹4,890.00 Roasted Coffee 630 g in 4 bottles ₹2,466.44 British Rose 650 g in 3 bottles ₹2,147.60 Woody Oud 630 g in 4 bottles ₹2,905.16 separate: each scent is its own stock, its own rounding, its own reorder SHARED PLATFORM — bought as single totals Wax CSI 464 · 36 kg bags Jar 211 jars, one style Wick Eco Thin C1 · 217 Stickers 6 × 40-sheet The platform must pass with every scent before it is shared: one wax and one jar that fail with one oil are not a platform. Test panel: 5 scents × 2 waxes × 2 candles = 20 candles, ₹5,874.46 in CSI items.
Top: five separate fragrance stocks, each with its own bottle mix and price. Bottom: the shared platform — one wax, one jar, one wick type, one sticker — bought as single totals. The dashed box states the weakest-scent rule and the size of the panel that tests the platform with every oil.
Straight answer
I want a candle collection with lavender, vanilla, coffee, rose and oud — how do I choose shared wax and container materials while keeping fragrance inventory separate?
Treat the collection as one platform and five scents: one wax, one jar, one wick type and one sticker, bought as single totals — chosen only if all five scents pass in them — and five separate oil stocks, each ordered from its own candle count and rounded to its own cheapest bottles. Decide the platform with a 20-candle panel (5 scents × 2 waxes × 2 candles, ₹5,874.46): CSI 464 is cheaper with a published 10% ceiling; Chunks has 13% headroom if any scent needs more. For the jar, the Salsa jar with cap is ₹8,720.20 cheaper than White Matte for 211 jars, but clear glass shows every scent's wax colour — compare both. Production for 40 candles per scent at an illustrative 180 g comes to ₹42,445.44. Per candle the oil alone runs from ₹47.58 to ₹111.77 across the five — which is exactly why the fragrance stays separate.
One line: share the base, separate the scent, and let the weakest scent decide the base.
For a five-scent collection — Lavender, Vanilla, Coffee, Rose and Oud — choose one wax, one jar, one wick type and one sticker that pass with all five oils, and buy them as single totals; keep five separate oil stocks, each rounded and reordered on its own. On this page's 200-candle plan the shared platform in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 plus five oil orders comes to ₹42,445.44 with Salsa jars or ₹51,165.64 with White Matte jars. Decide the platform with a 20-candle panel first (₹5,874.46).

A collection is a platform plus five scents

The customer sees five candles. Your stock shelf should see one candle base and five bottles.

Lavender, vanilla, coffee, rose and oud are about as different as five candle scents get — a herbal, a gourmand, a roast, a floral and a wood. That difference is the point of the collection, and it belongs entirely in the fragrance. Everything else — the wax, the jar, the wick, the sticker, the label layout — can be one platform that all five share. A shared platform means one wax to reorder instead of five, one jar to stock in depth, one wick to qualify, and a shelf that looks like a range rather than five unrelated products.

The rule that makes this work is the weakest-scent rule: a material can be shared across the collection only if it passes with every scent in it. If the shared wax throws well with four oils and poorly with the fifth, it is not a shared wax; it is a four-scent wax with an exception. That is why this page decides the platform with a test panel across all five scents before buying anything in production quantity, and why the fragrance stays separate: it is the one thing you are deliberately varying.

What is shared and what is kept separate in a five-scent collection
Platform versus fragrance
Material Shared or separate Bought as Rounded Why
Wax Shared one total for all five scents once the scent does not change what wax you buy — if it passes with all five
Jar (with or without cap) Shared one total once one look across the range; deepest stock line
Wick Shared — after testing one type, one total once same jar and wax, but each oil must pass the burn
Wick stickers Shared one total once one per wick
Fragrance oil Separate five orders per scent cannot be substituted; each has its own price ladder and sell-through
Labels (non-CSI) Separate design, shared layout per scent by your printer the only per-scent item besides the oil
The CSI principle
Share the base. Separate the scent. Let the weakest scent decide the base.
A shared wax, jar or wick that fails with one oil is not shared — it is a problem waiting for that oil's first reorder.

Choosing the shared wax

Two CSI container waxes are the natural candidates: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (₹507.40 a kilo at every size from 1 kg) and Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (₹599.00 a kilo). The one paper criterion that matters for a five-scent platform is headroom: the shared wax's published ceiling has to sit above the highest load any of the five scents will need. CSI 464's page states up to 10%; Chunks' states up to 13%. If your test shows that one scent needs more than 10%, CSI 464 cannot be the shared wax for that scent, however well it does with the other four.

Illustrative 180 g candle · oil grams at each load · ceilings as stated on CSI's product pages
Headroom: which loads each shared-wax candidate allows
Load Oil per candle Wax per candle CSI 464 (10%) Chunks (13%)
6% 10.8 g 169.2 g Yes Yes
8% 14.4 g 165.6 g Yes Yes
10% 18.0 g 162.0 g Yes Yes
12% 21.6 g 158.4 g No Yes

CSI publishes no throw data for any oil and no performance data for either wax, so neither paper nor this page can say which scent will need what. The panel decides it: two candles of each scent in each wax at 8%, burned side by side. If all ten CSI 464 candles pass, CSI 464 is the cheaper platform and its 10% ceiling leaves two points of headroom. If one scent only passes in Chunks, or only at a load above 10%, the platform moves to Chunks.

The shared wax, priced both ways
Platform wax Packs Price Per kg Leftover
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 3 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 1 kg ₹18,266.40 ₹507.40 148.5 g
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 7 × 5 kg + 1 × 1 kg ₹21,564.00 ₹599.00 148.5 g
The quiet duplication: one wax, five bags. A shared wax bought scent by scent — "40 lavender candles need this much, 40 vanilla need this much" — rounds five times. In CSI 464 that is ₹19,059.00 against ₹18,266.40 rounded once, and five part-used bags on the shelf. Fix: the wax is a platform line; it has one total and one order, whichever scents the candles end up in. One combined wax purchase and four fragrance quantities works the same split for a four-scent order.

Choosing the shared jar

The jar is the deepest stock line in the collection. Choose it once, carefully.

Two CSI jars suit a 180–200 g candle, and neither publishes a fill weight — the 180 g used here is illustrative; weigh a test pour in whichever you choose. White Matte Glass Jar is ₹70.80 in 5s or 10s, opaque, with no lid in the listing. 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar comes with a golden lug cap and is ₹200.60 for 5 (₹40.12 each), ₹1,475.00 for 50 and ₹2,950.00 for 100 (₹29.50 each); it is clear glass, and 200 ml is its brim volume, not a fill weight.

211 jars (200 candles, 3% rejects, 2% breakage) · re-checked 4 October 2026 · lid figure is an EXAMPLE, not a CSI price
The shared jar, priced
Jar Packs CSI price Per jar Lid Look
White Matte Glass Jar 21 × 10-pack + 1 × 5-pack ₹15,222.00 ₹70.80 not listed — e.g. ₹12.00 each, ₹2,532.00 (example) opaque, matte
200 ml Salsa Glass Jar 2 × 100-pack + 3 × 5-pack ₹6,501.80 ₹30.24 golden lug cap included clear glass

On price the Salsa jar wins by ₹8,720.20 before any lid, because its 50- and 100-packs bring it to ₹29.50 a jar with the cap. The choice between them is not only price, though, and a five-scent collection sharpens it. In a clear jar every candle's wax colour is on show, and different oils can leave a wax looking different after pouring and over time — a general effect in candle-making that CSI publishes no data on for any oil. An opaque jar hides that variation; a clear jar shows it, which some ranges want and others do not. Pour all five scents in both jars in the panel and look at them together after the storage period before you choose.

Test the jar with all five scents
The weakest-scent rule applies to the jar too. Glass adhesion, wet spots and surface appearance can differ by oil. Put one panel candle of each scent in each jar candidate and keep them side by side on your warmest shelf; choose the jar where all five look acceptable, not the one where the best scent looks best.

Keeping the fragrance inventory separate

Each scent is its own stock line with its own price ladder, rounded on its own. At 8% of an illustrative 180 g candle, every candle takes 14.4 g of oil, so 40 candles with 3% rejects and 5% pour loss need 623.5 g per scent. That number is the same for all five; the bottles and rupees are not.

Five scents ₹15,779.24 52.5 g ₹228.07

The spread inside one collection is wide: per candle, the oil ranges from ₹47.58 to ₹111.77 at 8% on the same shared platform (wax, wick and White Matte jar together about ₹160.73 at CSI 464's rate). That has two consequences. Pricing: if all five sell at one price, their margins differ by the oil gap — your pricing decision, but it should be a decision. Stocking: the dearest oil is the one where a slow seller ties up the most cash, so it is the first candidate for smaller, more frequent bottles rather than a kilo. Safety stock for a shared wax versus a single-SKU oil takes that further.

The opposite mistake: sharing the fragrance budget. "Five scents, 200 candles, so about 3,024 g of oil — buy a kilo of each and see." That buys 5,000 g of oil for a plan that needs 3,118 g, and treats five products with five different sell-throughs as one stock. Fix: one oil total per scent, from that scent's own candle count, rounded to that scent's own cheapest bottle mix. The 40/30/20/10 split post handles a collection where the scents are not equal.

The wick line deserves its label. CSI publishes no wick size for any jar; Eco Thin C1 is the panel's first candidate, and its production quantity is bought only after all five scents have passed the burn in the platform jar and wax. If any scent needs a different wick, you no longer have a one-wick platform — note it as an exception and price it then.

The panel that decides the platform, and what to buy now

The test panel is two candles per scent per wax — 20 candles — all in White Matte jars with Eco Thin C1, at 8%. Add one Salsa jar per scent if you are still choosing the jar. Everything in the panel is bought now; everything in the production order waits for the result.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. A shared platform means you buy one wax, one jar and one wick type from us instead of a varied basket, and the cheaper jar here is the one with the cap included. We would also rather you did not buy a kilo of each scent "to be safe": on this plan the five oils need 3,118 g in total, and five kilos would put about ₹8,424.96 of extra oil on your shelf. Larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp; no volume discount figure is published.

Different oils for the same five families? CSI lists alternatives in most of them — Dark Vanilla, Dark Vanilla Oud, White Royal Oud, Moca Coffee (15 g out of stock) and Smoked Rose Royale (from 100 g) among them. The platform rule is unchanged: whatever five you choose, all five must pass in the shared wax, jar and wick.

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A supplier's shopping list is easy to pad. Every line on this page is computed from a per-unit quantity and an allowance you can see, rounded to the cheapest in-stock pack combination we list, with the leftover shown — including where a smaller or cheaper option means a smaller order from us.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same wax for all my candle fragrances?
Often, and it simplifies buying — but only if every fragrance passes in it at its working load, inside the wax's published ceiling (CSI 464 10%, Chunks and CSI 468 13%). Test each scent before sharing.
Should every candle in a collection use the same jar?
It keeps one deep stock line and a consistent look. In clear glass, though, different oils can make the wax look different; compare all scents in the jar before committing.
How much fragrance oil should I stock per scent?
From that scent's own candle count: candles × weight × load, plus rejects and pour loss, rounded to its cheapest bottle mix. Never a flat amount per scent.
Do lavender, vanilla, coffee, rose and oud need different wicks?
CSI publishes no wick or throw data per oil. Use one wick candidate for all five in the panel; if one scent fails, treat it as a documented exception.
Which fragrance oils are cheapest for a candle collection?
On CSI's list British Rose and Roasted Coffee are among the lower per-gram oils; Vanilla Bean is among the higher. Per candle at 8% the spread here is about ₹47.58 to ₹111.77.
How do I keep inventory low with five candle scents?
Share the platform materials and buy them as totals; buy each oil to its own count and reorder per scent as it sells. Dearer oils go in smaller, more frequent bottles.
Platform once, scent five times
Share the wax, the jar and the wick. Keep every scent its own stock.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. Product recommendations reflect the CSI range. The bill-of-materials method — per-unit quantities, allowance stack, rounding to real packs, buy-now versus buy-after-testing — applies to any supplier's materials.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on the product pages named on each card — Eco Candle Wicks, Premium Candle Wicking Needle and Bamboo Wick Holder. They are general product reviews, not assessments of the guidance set out here. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me and wording is unedited. "Verified buyer" appears only on the three reviews Judge.me recorded as verified — Monika Deep, Subhankar Roy and Sneha Tamang; the reviews from Ashwini, LJ and Lalitha Jagan are published but not recorded as verified, and carry no badge.

Non-price figures and assumptions: CSI convention: load is a share of finished weight (oil = W × L). What CSI's product pages state (quoted, not CSI test results): Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — maximum fragrance load 13%, fragrance addition 80–90°C, pour 75–80°C in the spec table (the step list also shows 70–80°C), cure minimum 48 hours, ideally 1–2 weeks; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — fragrance load up to 10%, an 80–90°C melt/pour working range; Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 — melting point 50–53°C, pour 58–60°C, fragrance load up to 13%; Natural Soy Pearl and Soy Pillar Wax — no melt point, pour temperature or fragrance ceiling published. No fill weight is published for the White Matte or Salsa jar; no throw, discolouration or wick data is published for any oil. The 180 g fill, loads, unit counts, panel size, 3% rejects, 5% pour loss, 2% breakage, spare wicks, 3–4 hour burn cycles and the example lid price are labelled illustrations. Costs exclude labour, packaging, freight and GST. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
