Putting quotes from four routes on the same footing
Importers quote by the drum or carton, traders by the bag, marketplaces by the listing and CSI by the pack. None of those numbers can be compared until each becomes the same two figures: price per kilogram delivered, and wax cost per candle.
Step one: per kilogram, delivered
Divide everything you will pay, including delivery and any tax not already in the price, by the kilograms you will receive. A carton price that looks low can lose its lead once freight is added, and a trader's price may come without an invoice at all. At CSI the per-kilogram figure for each listed pack is on the product page, the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page states that its prices include taxes, and delivery is confirmed on WhatsApp for your pin code.
Step two: per candle
Multiply the delivered per-kilogram price by the wax in your candle. For a 200 g candle at 8%, that is 0.184 kg. It is how ₹507.40 per kilogram becomes ₹93.36 of wax in a CSI 464 candle, and how ₹424.80 becomes ₹78.16 in Natural Soy Pearl Wax. For a 100 g candle multiply by 0.092; for 300 g, by 0.276. Per candle is the figure that tells you whether a difference is worth a change.
Step three: the cost of being wrong
A cheaper wax that fails your test is not cheaper. A failed batch costs the jars, wicks, oil and hours as well as the wax. Every route you use should let you test the exact wax before you commit to bulk. At CSI that means a 1 kg bag, or 500 g where listed, of the same product you would reorder.
Step four: the cost of switching
If another route saves money but supplies a different wax, you pay again in re-testing, wick trials and possibly different tops. Put that on the comparison. For a manufacturer running several scents, a small saving per kilogram rarely covers a full reformulation.
Mistake: comparing a 1 kg retail price with a bulk quote. Compare like with like. For Natural Soy Pearl Wax, CSI's own bulk rate is ₹424.80 per kilogram, not the ₹450.00 you pay for a single 1 kg bag.
