Eighteen woody-family fragrance oils are listed in a 1 kg pack and in stock in September 2026, priced from ₹4,531.20 to ₹12,000 a kilo. This guide prices the whole shelf by the kilo, shows what each kilo costs inside a finished candle, and explains where the ladder rewards the big bottle and where it quietly does not.
₹4,531.20–₹12,000
per 1 kg across the 18 woody fragrance oils listed at 1 kg and in stock · one kilo carries about 62 × 200 g candles at 8% or 50 at 10% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does a kilo of woody fragrance oil cost in India? At CSI, between ₹4,531.20 for Woody Oud and ₹12,000 for Lavender Oud. The median woody kilo sits near ₹7,400, and Sandalwood Fragrance Oil — the family's most-used single note — is ₹5,026.80.

How many candles does one kilo make? At an 8% fragrance load, about 62 × 200 g candles (16 g of oil each, with 8 g left over), or 50 candles at 10%, or 104 × 120 g jars at 8%. The wax, wick and vessel are separate lines.

Is the kilo always the cheapest gram? Not in this family. On the ouds it usually is — Royal Oud is ₹6,400 by the kilo against ₹6,600 for two 500 g packs — but on the two cedar listings the 500 g pack is the cheaper gram. Divide before you click.

What if I need more than a kilo? 1 kg is the largest woody pack CSI lists. Above that, multiply the kilos you need and send the list to WhatsApp for a quote covering bulk pricing, GST invoicing and SDS. We will not print a price for a quantity that is not listed.
The short answer
Buy the kilo of the oil you have already burned: a wholesale woody order is 62 candles per bottle. That is a production decision, not a sampling one, and it should follow a cured burn test on a 15 g or 100 g pack of the same oil.
Price the oil inside the candle, not on the shelf: the ₹7,468.80 spread between the cheapest and dearest woody kilo becomes ₹119.50 inside one 200 g candle at 8%. That is the number your retail price has to absorb.
Three kilos beat one kilo of three: woody sells as a range — one sandalwood, one oud, one dry cedar — because the sub-families appeal to different buyers. Stock breadth first, depth second.
The woody kilo ladder — listed 1 kg price, and what that kilo puts in one 200 g candle at 8% Woody Oud ₹4,531.20 / kg · ₹72.50 a candle Mahogany Shea ₹4,885.20 / kg · ₹78.16 a candle Sandalwood ₹5,026.80 / kg · ₹80.43 a candle Dark Vanilla Oud ₹5,691 / kg · ₹91.06 a candle Sage and Cedarwood ₹6,867.60 / kg · ₹109.88 a candle White Royal Oud ₹8,103 / kg · ₹129.65 a candle Santal Noir ₹9,120 / kg · ₹145.92 a candle Lavender Oud ₹12,000 / kg · ₹192 a candle Bar length = the listed 1 kg price. Eight of the eighteen woody kilos are shown; the full ladder is in the table below.
The cheapest woody kilo and the dearest are ₹7,468.80 apart — a factor of 2.6. Divided across the 62 candles a kilo pours at 8%, the same gap is ₹119.50 a candle. Both numbers are true, and they lead to different purchasing decisions: the first decides your working capital, the second decides your retail price.
Straight answer
Which woody fragrance oils can I actually buy wholesale in India, and what does a kilo cost?
Eighteen woody-family oils are listed in a 1 kg pack and in stock at CSI in September 2026. The ladder opens at Woody Oud at ₹4,531.20, runs through Mahogany Shea ₹4,885.20, Mint Sandalwood ₹4,999, Sandalwood ₹5,026.80, Dark Vanilla Oud ₹5,691 and Palo Santo ₹6,018, and tops out at Amber Oud Royal ₹11,640 and Lavender Oud ₹12,000. Inside one 200 g candle at 8% — 16 g of oil — that is ₹72.50 to ₹192 of fragrance. One kilo carries about 62 candles at 8% or 50 at 10%, so a wholesale woody order is a production commitment: 62 finished candles of one scent per bottle. Two listings you may search for cannot be bought as a kilo today — Vetiver's 1 kg and Sacred Sandal Ember's 1 kg are both sold out, and Regal Royal Oud is sold out in every size — so plan around their 500 g packs or a different oil. One kilogram is the largest woody pack CSI lists; above it, send your kilo count to WhatsApp for a quote rather than assuming a volume rate exists.
One line: eighteen woody kilos, ₹4,531.20 to ₹12,000, about 62 candles each — buy breadth across the four woody directions before you buy depth in any one of them.
Opening a woody range? Woody Oud 1 kg ₹4,531.20, Sandalwood Fragrance Oil 1 kg ₹5,026.80 and Sage and Cedarwood 500 gm ₹2,584.20 cover oud, sandalwood and dry cedar — three directions, ₹12,142.20 of oil, and about 156 candles at 8%.

The whole woody shelf, priced

A wholesale buyer is not choosing a scent. They are choosing a shelf — and a shelf needs four different woods on it, not four versions of one.

Twenty-one listings at CSI lead with wood in September 2026, in four commercial directions that sell to different customers. Sandalwood is creamy, culturally familiar in India, and sells all year. Oud and bakhoor are dark, resinous, festival-facing and the dearest in the family. Dry timber — cedar, teak, mahogany — reads masculine and hotel-like. Root, resin and earth — vetiver, palo santo, petrichor — is the wellness end, where the customer is buying a mood rather than a wood. The table lists every one, with the entry pack, the cheapest listed gram in stock, and the oil cost inside a 200 g candle at 8%.

Worked out above: oil per 200 g candle at 8% = cheapest in-stock price per gram × 16 g. Woody Oud ₹4.5312 × 16 = ₹72.50 · Mahogany Shea ₹4.8852 × 16 = ₹78.16 · Sandalwood ₹5.0268 × 16 = ₹80.43 · Lavender Oud ₹12.0000 × 16 = ₹192. Every other row is the same multiplication on the per-gram rate shown beside it.

Read that last column as a shelf, not a league table. A range built only from the bottom four rows is cheap to make and hard to tell apart. One built only from the top four is beautiful and slow-moving, because ₹186.24 of oil forces a retail price a first-time buyer will not test on impulse. Pick two from the bottom half to pay the bills and one from the top to set the tone.

Two of the family's most-searched oils cannot be bought by the kilo today
Vetiver's 1 kg at ₹5,664 is sold out, so its cheapest buyable gram is the 500 gm at ₹2,900 (₹5.80 a gram). Sacred Sandal Ember's 100 g and 1 kg are both sold out, leaving the 500 g at ₹3,999. Regal Royal Oud is sold out in all three sizes. None of the three should anchor a production plan this month.

The 1 kg wholesale ladder

This is the table a wholesale buyer needs: every woody oil with a 1 kg pack in stock, sorted by price, with the per-gram rate and what it puts into a finished candle at 8% and 10%. The series convention is that fragrance load is a share of the finished candle — a 200 g candle at 8% is 184 g of wax plus 16 g of oil — while several woody pages phrase their percentage as a share "of total wax weight". Pick one convention and use it for every batch and every costing.

Plan with the per-candle columns. A kilo of Woody Oud at ₹4,531.20 and a kilo of Lavender Oud at ₹12,000 both make 62 candles at 8%, so the ₹7,468.80 working-capital difference shows up as ₹119.50 a candle — recoverable above ₹800 retail, awkward at ₹450. Note also Midnight Bakhoor Royale and Sultan's Smoke: both ₹7,999 a kilo, both smoky oud-and-resin compositions, both publishing a "Projection: Strong" expectation. Stocking both is duplication unless your labels and stories genuinely differ.

The mistake: buying a kilo because the per-gram rate looks better. A kilo is 62 candles of one scent. If that scent is not already selling, the per-gram saving is irrelevant — you have converted cash into inventory you cannot move. Work the other way: decide how many candles you will sell next quarter, multiply by 16 g, and buy the smallest pack combination that covers it. Forty candles is 640 g — a 500 gm pack plus a 100 gm pack, not a kilo. The costing method is in 100 g, 500 g or 1 kg of each fragrance oil.

Where the kilo is not the cheapest gram

In most families the biggest bottle wins. In this one, the ladder changes direction depending on which corner of the shelf you are standing in.

Wholesale buying assumes a rule — bigger pack, cheaper unit — and the woody shelf breaks it in both directions. On the oud listings the kilo generally is the cheapest gram. On the two cedar listings the 500 gm pack is cheaper per gram than the kilo. On three listings the 100 g pack is fractionally cheapest, by a few rupees across a kilo. None of these are discounts; they are what the listed prices work out to, and they change when prices change, so redo the division on the day you order.

Sultan’s Smoke ₹7,999 10 × 100g at ₹799 = ₹7,990 ₹9 — effectively flat The kilo, for fewer bottles
Saffron Cedarwood ₹6,867.60 2 × 500 gm at ₹2,584.20 = ₹5,168.40 Smaller packs ₹1,699.20 cheaper Two 500 gm packs
Sage and Cedarwood ₹6,867.60 2 × 500 gm at ₹2,584.20 = ₹5,168.40 Smaller packs ₹1,699.20 cheaper Two 500 gm packs

The two cedar rows are the family's biggest pricing quirk, covered in detail in best woody fragrance oils for candle making in India. The wholesale instruction is short: build every line of your order twice — once as kilos, once as smaller packs — and take the lower total. Four minutes of arithmetic, worth ₹3,398.40 if both cedars are in your basket.

Fewer bottles has a real value too
When the difference is ₹1 to ₹9 across a kilo — Dark Vanilla Oud, White Royal Oud, Sultan's Smoke — buy the format that suits your bench. One 1 kg bottle is one label to check, one batch to record, one seal to break. Ten 100 g bottles are ten chances to mislabel. In production, handling errors cost more than three rupees.

Three kilos to open a wholesale order with

These three cover the directions that sell hardest in India: one heavily documented page, one culturally central note, one dry-timber option. Each card shows every listed pack with the per-kilo rate and how many 200 g candles at 8% it carries.

Oud · the cheapest woody kilo in stock
Woody Oud Fragrance Oil
The lowest-priced oud and the most-reviewed woody oil on the store. Its page states "6-10%" for soy wax candles with a cure of 48 to 72 hours, 6–8% in paraffin and 10–15% for wax melts — a full set of numbers to build a batch sheet from. Published notes: "Top Notes Citrus, spicy notes", "Middle Notes Exotic oud, patchouli", "Base Notes Woody notes, amber, musk". One CSI customer, Payal Patel, calls it "Good quality wood fragrance oil with a warm, long-lasting scent and strong performance in candles" — a buyer's report, not a measurement, and the reason to run your own cured burn first.

Sandalwood · the year-round staple
Sandalwood Fragrance Oil
The single note most Indian customers already have an opinion about, and the best-documented page in the family: a measured "Flashpoint 203°C", "Vanillin content 0%" with the page stating it "will not cause discolouration or yellowing in white or light-coloured wax", and loads of up to 10% for soy (cure 48–72 hours) and up to 6% for paraffin. The page also claims that flash point is the highest in the CSI range; it is not, because Vetiver states 206°C, so keep the measurement and drop the ranking. Flat pricing from 100 gm up makes the step to a kilo painless.

Dry timber · the cheapest gram on the shelf
Mahogany Shea
The lowest per-gram woody rate in stock at ₹4.8852 from 100 gm upward, and a softer wood than the cedars: the description runs from "the sweet aroma of almond" through "the creamy richness of shea and coconut" to "natural woody notes of sandalwood and cedar" over "a hint of light musk and tonka bean". Be clear-eyed about what it does not publish — no flash point, no load, no vanillin figure, no discolouration statement. Test it harder rather than avoiding it: one white jar, 8%, and ask for the SDS before you scale.

Do not build a three-scent range out of three sandalwoods. CSI lists five sandalwood-led oils, and on a shelf they look like variety. In a customer's hand they are not: creamy sandalwood is the heart of all five, and the differences — a mint top, a saffron spice, a temple-incense wisp, a drier amber base — are the kind of thing a maker notices and a first-time buyer does not. If you want three woody SKUs that sell to three different people, take one sandalwood, one oud and one dry cedar or teak. The single-note comparisons are in sandalwood fragrance oils and oud fragrance oils.

A costed 300-candle woody run

Here is what a real wholesale woody order looks like when the target is 300 finished 200 g candles across three scents — 100 candles each — at an 8% load. Every figure is a listed price, and the oil quantities are chosen as the cheapest listed pack combination that covers the requirement rather than the round number.

Worked out above: 100 candles × 16 g = 1,600 g of each oil. Woody Oud ₹4,531.20 + ₹2,265.60 + ₹453.12 = ₹7,249.92 · Sandalwood ₹5,026.80 + ₹2,513.40 + ₹502.68 = ₹8,042.88 · Sage and Cedarwood bought as 500 gm packs because they are the cheaper gram: 3 × ₹2,584.20 = ₹7,752.60, plus 1 × 100 gm ₹696.20 = ₹8,448.80. Wax: 300 × 184 g = 55,200 g = 55.2 kg, plus a 5% planning allowance for spills and top-ups = 57.96 kg, bought as 5 × 10 kg ₹5,999 = ₹29,995, plus 5 kg ₹2,995, plus 3 × 1 kg ₹599 = ₹1,797, giving 58 kg for ₹34,787. Wicks 3 × ₹590 = ₹1,770. Jars 30 × ₹708 = ₹21,240. Total ₹7,249.92 + ₹8,042.88 + ₹8,448.80 + ₹34,787 + ₹1,770 + ₹21,240 = ₹81,538.60; ÷ 300 = ₹271.80 a candle.

Two things there are worth arguing with. The fragrance is ₹23,741.60 of an ₹81,538.60 order — about 29%, while the jars alone are ₹21,240; makers who obsess over the oil line and buy whatever jar is nearest have the proportions backwards. And the wax was bought in 10 kg bags because that is the largest listed soy pack — at ₹599 to ₹599.90 a kilo the rate barely moves with pack size, so the 58 kg is a handling decision, not a saving. A larger run is exactly the kind of basket to put in front of the bulk line.

The CSI principle
A wholesale order is not a bigger version of a test order. It is a different decision, made with different evidence.
A test order asks "do I like this?" and costs a few hundred rupees to get wrong. A wholesale order asks "will 62 people pay for this?" and costs a few thousand. The evidence that answers the second question is a cured burn test, a sold-out shelf and a reorder — never a product description, and never a per-gram rate.
Need more than the listed packs? 1 kg is the largest woody fragrance pack CSI lists. Send your kilo count per scent and we will quote — bulk pricing, GST invoicing, SDS and IFRA documentation are all handled on the WhatsApp line.

Ordering above 1 kg

CSI's largest listed fragrance pack is one kilogram. There is no 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance listing, no published volume discount and no published minimum order quantity. What exists instead is a quoting process, and it works better when you arrive with arithmetic.

1
Convert candles into grams before you write to anyoneCandles × grams per candle = the requirement. A 200 g candle at 8% is 16 g; at 10% it is 20 g; a 120 g jar at 8% is 9.6 g. Five hundred 200 g candles at 8% is 8,000 g — eight kilos. Quote grams, not candles, because grams are what gets packed.
2
Price it at the listed rate first, as your ceilingEight kilos of Woody Oud at the listed 1 kg price is 8 × ₹4,531.20 = ₹36,249.60. That is the number you can buy at today, without asking anyone. Treat it as the ceiling for your own planning and do not assume a quote will come in under it — assume nothing about a price nobody has published.
3
Send one message with the whole listScent, grams, and the date you need it by — for every line at once, not one oil per conversation. Add the wax, wicks and jars if you are buying those too; a single basket is quicker to quote and easier to pack. The bulk line is +91 7397976926.

Ask for the paperwork in the same messageGST invoicing, the SDS for each oil you are buying, and IFRA documentation are all supplied on request through the same line. Ask once, at quote stage, and file the documents against the batch — not after a customer asks you a question you cannot answer.
5
Order the oil last, not firstWax, wicks and jars are interchangeable between scents; fragrance is not. You can pour spare wax into a different candle, but you cannot un-buy eight kilos of an oil your customers did not want. Confirm the fragrance line once the burn tests are signed off.
"What's your wholesale price?" is the slowest possible first message. There is no single wholesale price: twenty-one woody listings sit at fifteen different per-gram rates, and the answer changes with quantity, scent and basket. "1 kg Woody Oud, 2 kg Sandalwood, 500 g Sage and Cedarwood, plus 50 kg Luxury Soy Chunks, needed by the second week of October, GST invoice required" gets a usable answer in one exchange. How to verify before you commit a kilo

Two halves: what the page states, and what your bench proves. Neither is optional at 62 candles a bottle.

The pre-kilo checklist
Six fields to read on the page, and what to do when a page is silent
Field What to look for Woody examples If the page says nothing
Stated candle load A percentage with a wax type attached "Up to 10% for soy wax" on four pages; Woody Oud "6-10%"; teakwood "7-9% soy wax" Hold at 8% and test before going higher
Measured flash point A number in °C or °F, not a "> 93°C" threshold Vetiver 206°C · Sandalwood 203°C · Sage and Cedarwood 190°C · Palo Santo 93°C Ask for the SDS figure; never borrow a neighbour's number
Vanillin / discolouration A percentage or an explicit warning Four pages state 0%; Sacred Sandal Ember warns of "golden or amber toning" Pour one white jar; photograph it at day 1 and day 21
Stated cure Hours before you judge the scent 48–72 hours in soy on several pages; Royal Oud states 72–96 hours Use the soy-container default: 14–21 days
Note structure Top / heart / base, or a single-note statement White Royal Oud and Saffron Cedarwood publish full pyramids; Sandalwood and Vetiver state "single note" Smell a 15 g pack first
Pack ladder Price ÷ grams on every row Cedars: 500 gm beats the kilo. Ouds: the kilo usually wins Recompute on the day — listed prices change

Then the bench half, which nobody can do for you. Buy the smallest pack of each shortlisted oil, pour two jars per oil on the wax you actually use, cure both, and burn one at day 7 and one at day 21, recording minutes to a full melt pool, flame behaviour, soot and your own throw score at 30 and 120 minutes. A woody oil that passes that on CSI 464 has earned a kilo; one that has only been smelled from the bottle has not. Method: controlled burn test and hot throw testing.

Wholesale is the point where a fragrance stops being a preference and becomes a forecast. Forecast with burn tests, not with adjectives.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA is a raw-material supplier, not a candle brand and not a fragrance manufacturer. That shapes what this page can honestly tell you. We can show you every listed pack and price, quote what each product page states, and do the arithmetic. We cannot tell you which woody oil throws hardest in your jar, because CSI has published no throw measurements — and a supplier who invents one to close a kilo sale is selling you a return, not a fragrance.

Every price, pack size and stock status here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, which is always authoritative. Flash points are quoted only for the four woody oils whose pages state a measured value; the "> 93°C (suitable for alcohol-based products)" line that appears on several perfume-grade pages is a threshold for alcohol-based formats, not a measurement, and we do not present it as one. Fragrance loads are quoted only where a page states them, and they are formulation guidance, not regulatory limits. Where the Sandalwood page claims its 203°C is the highest flash point in the range, we have flagged the contradiction with the Vetiver page's 206°C rather than repeat either superlative.

For quantities above the listed 1 kg pack, for bulk pricing, GST invoicing, SDS or IFRA documentation on any woody oil, message the bulk line on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

What is the wholesale price of woody fragrance oil in India?
At CSI in September 2026, the eighteen woody oils listed at 1 kg and in stock run from ₹4,531.20 for Woody Oud to ₹12,000 for Lavender Oud, with Sandalwood ₹5,026.80, Dark Vanilla Oud ₹5,691, Royal Oud ₹6,400 and White Royal Oud ₹8,103. There is no published volume discount below those rates, and no price is printed here for a quantity CSI does not list — above a kilo, the bulk line quotes on request.
How many candles will one kilogram of woody fragrance oil make?
At an 8% load in a 200 g candle — 16 g of oil per candle — one kilo carries 62 candles with 8 g left over. At 10% it carries 50. In smaller vessels it stretches: a 120 g jar at 8% uses 9.6 g, so a kilo covers 104 jars. Buy against a sales forecast, not against the pack size: 62 candles of a single scent is a real commitment for a young brand.
Does CSI sell woody fragrance oil in 5 kg or 10 kg packs?
No. One kilogram is the largest fragrance pack CSI lists, on woody oils and every other family. For more than a kilo of one scent, either buy multiple kilos at the listed rate — eight kilos of Woody Oud is 8 × ₹4,531.20 = ₹36,249.60 — or send your requirement in grams to the bulk line. CSI publishes no minimum order quantity and no volume price list, so treat the listed rate as your ceiling.
Which woody fragrance oils are out of stock right now?
In September 2026, Vetiver's 1 kg pack (₹5,664) is sold out, leaving the 500 gm at ₹2,900 as its largest buyable pack; Sacred Sandal Ember's 100 g and 1 kg are sold out, leaving the 500 g at ₹3,999; and Regal Royal Oud is sold out in all three sizes. Royal Oud's 100 g is also unavailable, though its 500 g and 1 kg are in stock. Availability changes — the product pages are always authoritative.
Is it cheaper to buy 1 kg or two 500 g packs?
It depends on the listing, which is unusual. On Sage and Cedarwood and Saffron Cedarwood the two 500 gm packs cost ₹5,168.40 against ₹6,867.60 for the kilo — ₹1,699.20 less for the same quantity. On Royal Oud, Santal Noir and Lavender Oud the kilo is cheaper by ₹200, ₹78 and ₹400. On Dark Vanilla Oud, White Royal Oud and Sultan's Smoke the difference is under ₹10 either way. Divide price by grams on every row before you order.
How many woody scents should a candle business stock?
Three, chosen from three different directions — one sandalwood, one oud, one dry cedar or teak — rather than three variations on the same wood. That gives a customer a real choice and you three stories to tell. Depth comes later: when one outsells the others two to one for a quarter, buy its kilo and leave the others at 500 g.
