What CSI lists: kits, not a commercial package

Search for a "bulk raw material package" and you will find kits — on CSI's store as on most. CSI lists six candle-making kits. Each is designed to let a beginner try several techniques: container and pillar wax, sometimes paraffin or gel, moulds, a scale, a thermometer, dyes and decoration. That makes them good value for learning and gifting. It also means they contain very little of any one wax, which is exactly what production needs most of. Even the largest kit holds 500g of container soy wax — about three 150g jar candles at 8%, at 138g of wax each. The smallest template below needs 13.8 kg of container wax for 100 candles. That is not a criticism of the kits: they are priced and packed for variety and for the tools a beginner does not yet own. It is simply why no kit, bought once or many times, is a production package. The four layers of a commercial package

A package you can reorder identically has four layers, and each is bought by a different rule. Mixing the rules is how packages end up with a year of care stickers and a week of wax.

Every template below uses the same candle — 150g at an 8% load, so 138g of wax and 12g of oil — because the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid states a "150g fill capacity" and a hot-pour limit of 85°C. Fixing the candle is what makes the three templates comparable; change the candle and every layer-1 line changes with it. Load is calculated as a share of the finished candle; the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page phrases its 8–13% as "of total wax weight", a slightly different convention — pick one and keep it on the recipe card.

Three package templates: 100, 500 and 1,000 candles

Each template is a complete layer-1 and layer-2 package built only from listed CSI products and whole listed packs. Scents grow from two to four to six, keeping the earlier scents as the core. Oil for each scent is matched to the cheapest sensible combination of listed bottles.

These templates are deliberately comparable, not definitive. The oils are examples chosen from CSI oils with published customer reviews across a spread of prices; replace them with your tested scents and the method still holds. What changes as the package grows

Look along the "per candle" row and the most important fact about building a package from listed products is obvious: it barely moves. ₹244.48, ₹242.25, ₹244.25. That is not an accident of these oils. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks list at ₹599 a kilo in 5 kg bags and ₹599.90 in 10 kg bags; Eco Candle Wicks are ₹5.90 each in every pack; the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid is ₹94.40 in 10s and in 20s. The small movement comes from the fragrance layer — more scents mean more small top-up bottles — and from the care roll, which is spread over more candles. What does change is everything around the price.

Two lessons follow. First, the website price is the ceiling for a package, not the deal. When the per-candle cost is flat from 100 to 1,000, a supplier's listed prices tell you the most you will pay, and only a quote for the bundled order can tell you whether anything better is available. The lines that anchor every template

Four listed products appear in all three templates in some form. Each card shows every listed pack with the per-unit price, and where it helps, how many 150g candles at 8% a pack covers.

Adapting a template to your candle

A template is only useful if you can change it without breaking the arithmetic. These are four common swaps, with what each does to the listed cost — and which ones force you to recalculate the wax and oil lines.

The jar swap is the largest lever in any template: moving from the ₹94.40 jar to the ₹29.50 Salsa jar is ₹64.90 a candle, more than a quarter of the package cost. It is also the easiest to get wrong, because 200 ml is a volume and your plan needs grams. The tin swap is a different product altogether — a smaller candle at a lower price point — so treat it as a new template rather than an edit. Turning a template into one bundled quote
