Which ones state a usage rate? Two. Vybar: 0.5–2% of total wax weight — 0.5–1% for soy, 1–2% for paraffin, 1% recommended. Microcrystalline wax: 1–10% — 3–7% for pillars. The stearic acid page states no rate, and the lacquer page gives a 10–15 minute air-dry time rather than a dose.
What do additives cost per candle? On the 184 g of wax inside a 200 g candle: Vybar ₹2.87 at 0.5%, ₹5.74 at 1%, ₹11.48 at 2%; microcrystalline ₹1.65 at 3% to ₹3.85 at 7%.
Does CSI sell UV inhibitor or bulk additive drums? No UV inhibitor is listed. The largest listed packs are 200 g stearic acid, 100 g Vybar, 1 kg microcrystalline and 1 litre of lacquer — anything above that is quoted on WhatsApp.
The four additives CSI lists, and what each page states
Most candle businesses meet additives the same way: a batch misbehaves — a pillar cracks, a coloured candle mottles, a jar sweats — and someone recommends a powder. The additive gets bought in a hurry, dosed by guesswork, and either quietly works or quietly doesn't. That is the wrong way to buy a raw material you will put into every candle in a product line. The right way starts with a simple audit: what the supplier actually states about each additive, because that is the only information you can repeat batch after batch.
CSI's range is small and specific. There are three additives that go into the melted wax — stearic acid, Vybar and microcrystalline wax — and one finish that goes onto the cooled candle, the candle lacquer. The table sets out every listed pack, the listed price per kilo or litre, and exactly what each product page states. Where a page states nothing, the table says so. A blank in that column is not a gap in the table; it is the most important instruction on the page, because it tells you that the number has to come from your own test.

Three patterns are worth noticing before you buy anything. First, stearic acid and Vybar are flat-priced: the bigger pack is exactly double the smaller one, so there is no listed reward for buying the 200 g or 100 g pack beyond having fewer bags to open. Second, microcrystalline wax is the opposite of what most buyers expect — two 500 g slabs list at ₹298 against ₹299 for one kilo. The difference is a rupee, which means you can choose purely on handling. Third, the lacquer is the only product in the range that genuinely steps down, by 10 paise per millilitre, or about 4.3%, at the one-litre size.
Stated rates, turned into grams and rupees
A percentage on a product page is only useful once it becomes a weight on your scale and a line on your costing sheet. The series standard is a 200 g candle at an 8% fragrance load: 184 g of wax and 16 g of oil. Vybar's page states its rate as a percentage "of total wax weight", and gives its own example — for 500 g of wax at 1%, add 5 g of Vybar — so the additive grams below are calculated on the 184 g of wax and added to it. Microcrystalline wax is blended "into your main wax base" at the stated share.

Now put those rupees next to the wax. The wax in a 200 g candle on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at the 1 kg price is ₹110.22 (184 g × ₹0.599). Vybar at its recommended 1% adds ₹5.74 — about 5.2% of the wax cost. Microcrystalline at 7% in a 200 g Soy Pillar Wax pillar adds ₹3.85 gross. And because microcrystalline is part of the wax blend, the real number is kinder still: if those 12.88 g replace the same weight of Soy Pillar Wax at ₹0.60 per gram (₹7.73), the blend actually costs about ₹3.88 less per pillar than straight pillar wax. That is not a reason to add it — the reason has to be the result — but it removes cost as an objection to testing it.
The stearic acid rows deserve a clear label, and they have one. CSI's stearic acid page does not state a usage rate, so those lines are not CSI specifications. They are two points on a test grid that reflect how stearic acid is commonly trialled in general candle-making practice, most often in paraffin pillars and moulded candles. Container soy makers frequently use none at all. What "wholesale" means when the dose is measured in grams
The word "wholesale" was built for wax and fragrance oil, where a growing business moves from kilos to tens of kilos. Additives do not scale the same way. At 1%, a candle business that pours 100 kg of wax a month uses 1 kg of Vybar — ten of CSI's 100 g packs. The same business, blending microcrystalline at 5% into a 20 kg pillar line, uses one 1 kg slab. The honest wholesale question for additives is therefore not "what is the biggest pack?" but "how many batches does each pack cover, and when does the volume justify a quote?"

Two things follow. The first is that many small candle businesses never outgrow the listed additive packs. A maker pouring two or three 10 kg bags a month is buying two or three 100 g packs of Vybar, and that is a normal online order. The second is that the combinations in the lower rows are listed ceilings, not quotes. Stearic acid above 200 g and Vybar above 100 g are not listed as single packs, so a buyer at those volumes should message CSI on WhatsApp with the additive, the monthly quantity, the wax it goes into, the delivery pincode and a GST number. We will not tell you here what that quote will be — only that the listed per-kilo price is the number you are comparing it against.
The range, pack by pack
Each card shows every listed pack with the price per kilo or litre and, where the page states a rate, how many 200 g candles that pack covers at a specified rate. The per-candle figure in each footer is calculated on 184 g of wax. Buy against the problem you have measured, not the problem you are worried about.

What CSI does not list — and what to do instead
A supplier guide that only lists what is on the shelf is half a guide. There are additives candle businesses ask about that CSI does not list, and it is better you know that before planning a product line around one of them.
UV inhibitor. No product in the CSI catalogue is described as a UV inhibitor or UV absorber. Makers usually look for one when coloured candles fade in shop windows or on sunny shelves. Without one, the practical defences are the ones you control: keep coloured stock boxed and out of direct sunlight, display a sample candle rather than the whole run in a window, choose deeper shades for products that will sit in light, and rotate display stock. If UV protection is essential to a product you are planning, ask on WhatsApp before you commit — we would rather tell you it isn't listed than sell you something that isn't one.
Bulk additive packs. As covered above, nothing is listed above 200 g of stearic acid, 100 g of Vybar, 1 kg of microcrystalline wax or 1 litre of lacquer. Those volumes are quoted on request. Additive blends and pre-mixed "container" or "pillar" formulas are not listed either; you build the blend from a base wax plus an additive at a rate you have tested.
What the range does include nearby is worth knowing too, because some "additive" problems are really tool problems. How to judge an additives supplier
For wax, supplier evaluation is about grade consistency and pack ladders. For additives, it is mostly about information: whether the supplier tells you enough to use the product the same way every time. Here is a checklist you can apply to any supplier, with CSI scored honestly against it — including the places where the answer is "not stated".

Scored this way, CSI's range is strongest where it is most documented — Vybar and microcrystalline — and weakest on stearic acid, where the buyer carries the burden of the test. That is the right way to read any supplier: not "do they sell it?" but "how much of the recipe do they hand you, and how much do you have to find out yourself?" Building a first additives order for a candle business
A first additives order should be small, specific and attached to a test. The sequence below works whether you are adding Vybar to a soy container line or microcrystalline wax to a pillar range, and it turns ₹362.82 of trial packs into a decision you can put on a costing sheet.
For a business that already knows its rates, the ordering maths is mechanical. Divide monthly wax by 10 kg, multiply by the additive grams per 10 kg from the rates table, and round up to listed packs. When that number regularly passes ten packs of Vybar or several kilos of microcrystalline, move the additive onto the same WhatsApp quote as your wax so both arrive on one GST invoice.
