I Currently Buy Wax, Wicks, Fragrance Oils and Jars From Different Suppliers — Can I Source Everything From One Candle Raw Material Supplier?
शेयर करना
What can't it cover? CSI does not list candle-making machines, UV inhibitor, a wick sold as pre-tabbed, soy wax in 25 kg or 100 kg packs, fragrance oil above 1 kg, 1 kg dye or custom-printed product labels. Larger quantities of listed products are quoted on WhatsApp.
Is one supplier always better? Not automatically. You gain one delivery, one invoice and one conversation; you give up picking the cheapest option per line and you concentrate supply risk. At production volume, most makers find the trade worth it — with a safety stock.
How do I switch without ruining my candles? In order of risk: labels and packaging first, jars and wicks after a burn test, fragrance oils one scent at a time, wax last with a full cured batch.
What four suppliers are really costing you
Most makers end up with several suppliers for sensible reasons: one had the jar you wanted, another had a scent nobody else carried, a third was cheapest on wax the week you started. Each choice was right on its own. Together they build a process where a single candle depends on four separate orders arriving, four invoices matching, and four product lines staying unchanged at four businesses you don't control.
Consolidating is not automatically better, and a one-stop supplier has real downsides. The honest comparison looks like this:
| Factor | Four suppliers | One supplier | Who wins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freight | Four shipments, four charges, four boxes to receive | One shipment for the whole basket | One supplier, usually — ask for freight on your full basket |
| Pour-day readiness | Production waits for the slowest of four deliveries | One delivery date to plan around | One supplier |
| Invoices & GST | Four invoices to reconcile each month | One GST invoice for the order | One supplier |
| Documentation | MSDS and IFRA documents chased from several sources | One place to request documentation | One supplier |
| Troubleshooting | A wick from A in wax from B: each can blame the other | One conversation about the whole candle | One supplier |
| Price per line | You can pick the lowest price on each line | Some lines may be dearer than the cheapest alternative | Four suppliers — before freight |
| Range depth | A specialist jar or scent house may carry more options in its line | Range is whatever one catalogue holds | Four suppliers, for niche items |
| Supply risk | One supplier's stock-out hits one line | One supplier's delay hits every line | Four suppliers — unless you hold safety stock |
Read down the right-hand column and the pattern is clear. The one-supplier advantages are operational: fewer deliveries, fewer invoices, one date, one conversation. The four-supplier advantages are price-per-line and resilience. At hobby volume the price advantage often wins. At production volume — when a missing jar box idles a day of pouring — the operational advantages usually do, and the resilience gap is closed with safety stock rather than extra suppliers. The broader version of this question is covered in can I buy all my candle-making materials from one supplier.
What CSI covers, line by line
The table below maps a typical container-candle business's shopping list against what CSI currently lists, with the pack range and what the product pages state. Counts are products in each CSI collection in September 2026; a few individual listings within them are sold out at any time, so check the product page.
| Line | What CSI lists | Pack range (examples) | Stated on the pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Container wax | Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, CSI 464, CSI 468, Eco Soy CSI 400, Natural Soy Pearl, Premium Coconut Soy, paraffin, gel, beeswax | 500 g to 10 kg; Natural Soy Pearl to 50 kg; paraffin to 1 kg | Loads on Chunks (8–13%), CSI 464 (up to 10%), CSI 468 (up to 13%); several others state none |
| Pillar wax & additives | Soy Pillar Wax, microcrystalline wax, stearic acid, vybar, candle lacquer | Pillar wax to 10 kg; stearic acid to 200 g; vybar to 100 g | Vybar 0.5–2% (0.5–1% for soy); microcrystalline 1–10% |
| Fragrance oils | 92 products in the collection, from Citrus Lemon (₹2,832/kg) to perfume-inspired oils | Most in 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg | MSDS and IFRA documentation on request via WhatsApp |
| Wicks | Eco Candle Wicks C1/C2, Cotton Braided Ready Made, Eco Braided and Eco Loose rolls, braided roll with 100 tabs, Performance Wooden Wicks | C1/C2 and Cotton Braided 10 to 1,000; wooden 10 to 100 | Cotton Braided for candles exceeding 8 cm; Eco Loose for 2 inch diameters |
| Wick setting | Wick stickers, steel and bamboo wick holders, centering devices, wick setting tool, wicking needle | Stickers in sheets of 40; steel holders 5 to 25 | Wick sticker 10mm diameter |
| Jars & tins | 80 products: Salsa, apothecary, matte and frosted glass, votives, tins, velvet and ceramic | Mostly 5, 10 or 20; Salsa and Mini Glass Jars to 100 | Some state grams (150 g Clear Jar, 85 g tins); many state ml only |
| Colour | 25 products: liquid dyes, dye chips, mica | Liquid dyes 15 to 100 ml/g | No dosage stated on most dye pages |
| Moulds | 62 products: silicone, multi-cavity and polycarbonate pillar moulds, mould sealer | Single moulds; mould sealer 80 pieces | Varies by mould |
| Labels & packaging | Candle care sticker rolls, corrugated boxes, air bubble roll, craft paper tape | Care rolls 500 and 1,000; boxes in 50s and 100s | Box and roll sizes in titles |
| Equipment | Mini 1 litre melter, 10 kg and 20 kg electric melters, 4-nozzle funnel, pitchers, thermometer, scale | Single units | Melter capacity and temperature ranges stated |
For the four lines you asked about, coverage is complete at production scale. The limits sit in pack size rather than product type: wax stops at 10 kg bags for most soy waxes, oils at 1 kg, jars mostly at 20-packs with a few at 100. That is fine for a few hundred candles a month; above that, you are buying multiple packs or asking for a quote — see the 500-candles-a-month basket for how that plays out.
What CSI doesn't list — and what to do about each
These are the items a consolidating maker most often asks about that CSI does not list as products, or does not list in the size a production buyer wants. For each, the closest listed option — which is not always a substitute — and what to do.
| Item | Status at CSI | Closest listed option | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Candle-making machines (moulding, filling, wicking) | Not listed | Electric Wax Melter 10 kg ₹21,240 / 20 kg ₹25,960; 4-nozzle pouring funnel ₹1,888 | Keep a separate machinery source if your process needs automation |
| UV inhibitor | Not listed | None | Source separately and test for discolouration in your own wax and oils |
| Wicks sold as pre-tabbed | No product described as pre-tabbed | Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made; braided wick roll with 100 wick tabs ₹706.82; Eco Candle Wicks | Ask on WhatsApp exactly how the ready-made wicks are supplied before switching |
| Soy wax in 25 kg or 100 kg packs | Not listed | 10 kg bags; Natural Soy Pearl Wax 50 kg ₹21,240 | Order multiple bags or ask for a quote |
| Fragrance oil in 5 kg or 10 kg packs | Not listed | 1 kg bottles on most oils | Order multiple 1 kg bottles or ask for a quote |
| Dye in 1 kg | Not listed | Liquid dyes to 100 ml / 100 g (₹900–₹1,062) | Buy multiple 100 ml/g packs; most businesses use less than they expect |
| Paraffin above 1 kg · stearic acid above 200 g · vybar above 100 g | Not listed | Paraffin 1 kg ₹354; stearic acid 200 g ₹115.64; vybar 100 g ₹312 | Multiple packs or a quote; check your usage first |
| Jars in 500s | Not listed | 200ml Salsa and Mini Glass Jars in 100s | Five 100-packs, or a quote for larger runs |
| Custom printed product labels | Not listed | Candle care sticker rolls (500 ₹413, 1,000 ₹699) | Keep your label printer; move care/safety stickers |
Two further notes. Listings can be sold out at any moment — Soy Wax 464 Pellets, for example, are currently sold out while the CSI 464 flake form is available — so standardise on products that are in stock, and check the page before each order. And many jar pages state capacity in millilitres rather than grams: 200 ml is not 200 g, so weigh one filled jar before you move a candle size to a new jar.
Which lines are safe to switch first
Consolidation fails when it is treated as one decision. It is really four or five decisions with very different risks. A new care label cannot change how a candle burns. A new wax changes almost everything. Sequence the switch by risk and you keep selling the same candle while your buying changes underneath it.
| Line | Risk | What can change | Test before switching | Switch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Care labels, wick stickers, boxes, tape | Low | Size, fit, adhesion | Check sticker size and box fit against your jar | Week 1 |
| Jars | Low to medium | Diameter changes the wick; capacity changes wax per candle; hot-pour limit | Weigh a filled jar; burn one with your current wick and wax | Weeks 1–3 |
| Wicks | Medium | Flame, melt pool, soot — similar names can burn differently | Side-by-side burn in your jar: old wick vs new, same wax and oil | Weeks 2–4 |
| Fragrance oils | High | The same scent name is not the same oil: character, throw, colour | Pour both oils at the same load, cure 14 days, blind-compare cold and hot throw | One scent at a time, weeks 3–8 |
| Wax | Highest | Load limit, temperatures, finish, adhesion, wick size | A full batch of every SKU, cured and burn-tested to the bottom | Last, after everything else is stable |
The week numbers are illustrative — a small range can move in a month, a thirty-scent range may take a season. What matters is the order: by the time you test a new wax, every other component in the candle is already from the new supplier and already proven, so the wax is the only variable left.
One product per line to test the move
If you are moving the four lines you named, these are sensible starting points that state enough on their pages to test against. They are examples, not the only options; match them to your current specification before buying in volume.

What one consolidated order looks like, costed
Here is a month for a maker currently splitting four lines across suppliers, consolidated onto one CSI order: 200 × 150 g jar candles at 8% (138 g of wax and 12 g of oil each), planned as 207 pours — a 3.5% planning allowance, set so the oil bottles come out even — in three scents. Swap in your own products and quantities; the structure is what matters.
| Line | Needed for 207 pours | Packs | Listed cost | Inside one candle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | 28.57 kg | 6 × 5 kg | ₹11,976 | ₹55.09 |
| Lavender Fragrance Oil | 83 candles · 996 g | 1 × 1 kg | ₹5,221 | ₹62.65 |
| Roasted Coffee Fragrance | 83 candles · 996 g | 1 × 1 kg | ₹3,738 | ₹44.86 |
| British Rose Fragrance Oil | 41 candles · 492 g | 1 × 500 gm | ₹1,593 | ₹38.23 |
| Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1) | 207 | 2 × 100 + 1 × 10 | ₹1,239 | ₹5.90 |
| Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 g) | 207 | 10 × 20 + 1 × 10 | ₹19,824 | ₹94.40 |
| Candle Wick Stickers | 207 | 6 sheets of 40 | ₹600 | ₹2.50 |
| Candle Care Stickers Roll (1 inch) | 200 | 1 roll of 500 | ₹413 | ₹0.83 |
| One order | ₹44,604 | ≈₹209 blended |
Look at the shares, because they change how you should think about consolidation. In this basket the jar line is 44% of the order, wax 27% and oil 24%. The supplier who carries your jar carries almost half your spend — so if your current jar comes from a specialist glass supplier and you love it, that is the line to test most carefully, and possibly the one to keep. If the jar can move, the operational case for one order is strongest, because jars are the bulkiest, most breakable thing in the basket to receive separately.
The consolidation checklist — for CSI or anyone else
Whichever one-stop supplier you consider, run the same checks. Each can be verified from product pages or a trial order, without relying on what a supplier says about itself. The right-hand column is CSI, assessed honestly.
| # | Check | How to verify | CSI, honestly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Covers your core lines | Map every SKU you buy | Wax, oils, wicks, jars, labels, boxes: yes. Machines, UV inhibitor, pre-tabbed wicks: not listed |
| 2 | Packs match your volume | Compare largest pack to monthly use | Fine to a few hundred candles a month; above that, multiple packs or a quote |
| 3 | Specs published for your core products | Read the pages you would buy from | Strong on Chunks, CSI 464, CSI 468 and some jars; several waxes and many dyes state little |
| 4 | Stated pairings between lines | Look for wick, jar or temperature guidance across pages | Some: Eco Soy CSI 400 names Eco Wicks; coloured Salsa jars name C2; 150 g jar states 85°C |
| 5 | Sampling sizes on every line | Check the smallest pack for each product | Yes: 500 g or 1 kg wax, most oils from 15 g or 50 g, 10 or 20 wicks, jars in 5s or 10s |
| 6 | Stock visible before ordering | Sold-out flags on product pages | Yes, per variant — some listings are sold out at any time |
| 7 | One GST invoice | Send GSTIN with a trial order | GST invoicing handled via WhatsApp |
| 8 | Documentation in one place | Ask for MSDS/IFRA for your oils | MSDS and IFRA documentation on request via WhatsApp |
| 9 | Freight on the whole basket | Ask for it on your consolidated list | Ask on WhatsApp for your full basket and pincode — customers have flagged delivery charges |
| 10 | A named gap list | Ask what they don't sell | This page |

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies candle-making raw materials; it does not make or sell finished candles, and it does not manufacture the wax or fragrance oils it stocks. A page asking "can one supplier do everything?" invites a one-word sales answer. We have given the gap list instead — machines, UV inhibitor, pre-tabbed wicks, the largest pack sizes — because a maker who consolidates onto a supplier and then finds a missing line mid-production does not stay consolidated for long.
Every product, count, price and specification is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product or collection page, where current information always takes precedence. Collection counts include listings that may be sold out on a given day. Specifications are quoted only as pages state them; loads are wax formulation limits, not regulatory limits. The switching order, week numbers and consolidated order are illustrative methods, not CSI terms.
