Is sweating caused by too much fragrance oil? That is the first thing to rule out, not the only cause. Stay inside the stated ceiling — Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10% of wax weight, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468 up to 13% — and where an oil page quotes a lower range, the lower figure governs.
Does Vybar stop candles sweating? The Vybar Additive page says it improves fragrance retention and prevents mottling and sweating, at 0.5–2% of wax weight and the lower end for soy. It is worth one controlled jar at ₹6.24 per 200 g candle at 1% — but it will not rescue a load above the ceiling or oil stirred in at 60°C.
Will the beads go away on their own? Sometimes. A candle that beads once in a warm week and reabsorbs on a cool night was close to its limit rather than past it. Beads that return after every wipe, on every jar in the batch, are a formulation signal. Wipe, date the jar and judge it again at day 7 and day 14.
A bead is fragrance oil the wax decided not to keep
Soy wax is not a solid in the way glass is a solid. It sets as a dense network of small crystals with liquid trapped in the spaces between them, rather like water held in wet sand. Fragrance oil, which stays liquid at room temperature, lives in those spaces. How much the network can hold is a property of the wax as it was formulated — which is exactly what a product page means when it states a maximum fragrance load.
Crystallisation does not finish when the candle feels hard. It carries on for days, and every further rearrangement makes the network slightly tighter and the spaces slightly smaller. Oil that has nowhere left to sit is displaced, and the only direction with no wax above it is up. When it arrives at the surface it does not spread: fragrance oil has a higher surface tension against wax than it does against glass, so it collects into discrete droplets. Those droplets are what makers call sweating.
This matters for diagnosis because a bead tells you something a film does not. A film across the whole top means the wax could not hold the dose from the moment it set — it never bound in. Beads that appear on day four, or after a warm afternoon, mean the wax held the dose at first and then slowly changed its mind. The two point at different parts of your process, and treating them the same way wastes a batch.

Why the candle looked perfect on day one
A soy container candle passes through three stages that a maker can see. It sets in the first few hours, it hardens over the first day, and it keeps crystallising for a fortnight or more. The Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page asks for a minimum of 48 hours and ideally one to two weeks before burn testing, which is the same window in which a sweating problem declares itself. Standard practice for soy container candles is a 14 to 21 day cure by fragrance family, and there is a good reason it overlaps: the processes that mature the scent are the same processes that decide whether the oil stays in (why a candle needs a 14-day cure).
Overlay a room on top of that. An ordinary Indian room is not a stable environment for a candle even outside the summer months. A first-floor flat in Kolkata can sit at 27°C at four in the morning and 34°C by four in the afternoon; a Bengaluru workshop that feels mild moves 8°C between night and noon; an air-conditioned studio switches between 24°C and 31°C every time the compressor stops for the night. Each warm phase opens the crystal network slightly and lets oil migrate up; each cool phase closes it again with some of that oil now stranded on the surface. The move is small and it does not reverse cleanly, so beads accumulate over cycles rather than appearing all at once.
This is why the same recipe can behave differently in two cities and in two months, and why a batch that was flawless when it left your table can arrive beaded. It is also why a single inspection proves nothing. Your test is not one look; it is the same jar looked at five times.
The six pressures that push oil out — ranked by what it costs to remove
Every cause of sweating works through the same lever: either there is more oil than the network can hold, or the network holds less than it should. Load: the ceiling is a maximum, not a target
A stated fragrance load is the wax manufacturer's formulation maximum — the most oil the wax was built to carry, tested under their conditions, not a recommended dose for your jar in your city. The Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page is unusually explicit about this: it gives 8% as a starting point, 10% as its recommendation and 13% as the maximum, and asks you to burn-test thoroughly at 13%. Read the same structure into every ceiling. CSI 464 states up to 10%, Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 up to 13%, and Eco Soy CSI 400 does not publish a ceiling at all — for that grade, ask on WhatsApp rather than assume a number from a sibling product.
Then check the oil. Many CSI fragrance oil pages state their own candle range: Woody Oud gives 6–10% for candles, Autumn gives 7–11%, Cinnamon Vanilla gives up to 13%. Where a wax ceiling and an oil range disagree, the lower figure governs — Woody Oud at 10% in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks is capped by the oil at 10%, not lifted to 13% by the wax. Sitting two percentage points under the lower of the two is the cheapest insurance in this entire guide, and it removes the most common cause of beads outright (why more fragrance oil does not always mean stronger candles).
Dose temperature: the fault that only hits half the batch
Oil added into wax that is too cool does not disperse evenly; it forms pockets that are locally far above the intended percentage even though the batch average is correct. The Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page asks for fragrance at 80–90°C with a slow two-minute stir; Eco Soy CSI 400 asks for 85°C and a gentle two-minute stir. Two minutes is longer than it feels — count it on a clock, not by instinct. The signature of this fault is unevenness: three jars from one pot are dry and two are beaded, which no load explanation can account for, because they all had the same load (add temperature for soy).
Flashpoint is the other half of this conversation and it is routinely misunderstood. It is a transport and handling property, not the temperature at which fragrance burns away in a melt. British Rose lists 192°C on its page; adding at 85°C is nowhere near it. If an oil page gives a low flashpoint, work at the cooler end of the stated window and do not hold the wax hot for long — but do not drop to 60°C to "protect" the scent, because that is how you create the pockets in the first place.
Vybar: what the page claims, what it can do, and what it cannot
The Vybar Additive page describes it as a candle additive that improves fragrance retention, creates smooth glossy surfaces, prevents mottling and sweating, and improves wax hardness and burn quality. It states a rate of 0.5–2% of total wax weight, says to use the lower end (0.5–1%) for soy because soy is naturally softer, and instructs that it goes into the melted wax before the fragrance and colour. It lists compatibility with soy, paraffin, coconut and blends. Those are the page's claims, quoted as such; CSI does not publish laboratory data behind them and neither will we invent any.
Here is the honest position this series takes. Vybar is worth one controlled jar in a ladder, because at 1% of wax weight it costs ₹6.24 on a 200 g candle and the answer arrives in the same fortnight as the rest of your test. It is not worth adding across a whole range on faith. Three cautions matter more than the price. First, an additive that increases how much oil the wax holds does not undo a load above the stated ceiling — you are still asking the wax to do something its page says it was not formulated to do. Second, it changes the wax you sell: hardness, pool behaviour and therefore the wick that suits it, so a Vybar jar has to be burn-tested as if it were a new grade, not signed off on appearance. Third, single-pour soys are sold on the basis of not needing help: the Eco Soy CSI 400 page states that no additional additives are needed, so reaching for Vybar there is arguing with the product.

The four-jar sweat ladder: find your own bead point
One variable changes across the first three jars: the load. The fourth jar adds the additive at a fixed load so that its effect can be read against a direct neighbour rather than against a memory. Everything else is held rigid — the same pot of wax, the same oil, the same wick, the same jar, the same shelf, the same scoring days. The round uses 800 g of CSI 464, 64 g of oil, 2 g of Vybar and four Eco C1 wicks: ₹725.76 before jars.

Read the sheet as a pattern, not as four separate verdicts. If A and B stay at 0 and C climbs to 2 by day 7, your working ceiling with this oil in this grade is somewhere between 8% and 10% — pour production at 8% and stop worrying about the number on the page. If all four climb together, the load is not your problem and the pressure list above sends you to the dose temperature and the oil. If V is a full point drier than B at day 14 and burns cleanly in a second jar, the additive is earning its ₹6.24. If V matches B, you have saved yourself a permanent line item.
The jars that are already beaded: wipe, dilute, sell or scrap
Assume fifty jars, poured at the series unit with Woody Oud and a white matte jar: ₹250.68 of materials per candle and ₹12,533.96 for the batch. That number is what makes the decision real, and it is the number that pushes tired makers into shipping a jar they would not accept themselves.

The dilution row is the one most makers have never costed, so here is the arithmetic in full, labelled as illustrative because it depends on your exact load. Fifty jars poured at 10% of wax weight contain 10 kg of wax and 1 kg of oil. To bring that same oil down to 8% of wax weight you need 12.5 kg of wax, so you re-melt everything and stir in 2.5 kg of fresh CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg — ₹1,268.50. You now hold 13.5 kg of dosed wax, which at 200 g of wax per jar fills about 62 jars rather than 50, so budget twelve more wicks and containers at ₹70.80 each: ₹920.40. Total outlay ₹2,188.90 to save ₹12,533.96 of materials, at the cost of a re-melt that will drive off some of the top notes. Re-melting is not free scent-wise, and a diluted batch must be re-cured and re-tested from day one.
The care-card option deserves a word of honesty, because it is the one CSI has the least commercial interest in recommending. If a candle beads faintly, burns cleanly and smells right, telling the customer what they are looking at is usually better than a silent wipe: a line on the base saying that natural soy may show slight surface oil in warm weather and that it can be wiped with a dry tissue turns a defect into a material property. But that sentence has to be true. If the jar beads heavily, or the wick drowns, or the scent has gone flat, no card makes it fair, and the fifty jars are a lesson rather than stock.
What the test costs, and what guessing costs
The ladder is a one-time outlay of ₹725.76 that answers a question for as long as you keep pouring that oil in that wax. Compare it with the three changes makers reach for instead, all of which repeat on every candle you ever sell.

There is one more cost that does not appear on any invoice: the oil in the beads is fragrance you paid for and the customer will never smell. A single gram lost from a 16 g dose is 6.25% of the scent in that candle and ₹4.53 of Woody Oud; across fifty jars that is ₹226.56 wiped off with a tissue. It is a small number beside the batch value, and it is the reason a sweating candle often reads as weak as well as untidy — the two complaints have the same root, which is why load discipline improves throw and appearance at the same time (making candles smell strong without exceeding the safe load).
