Your kit did not choose that wick for your jar. It chose a wick that fits most jars, which is not the same thing.

It was included because a kit has to ship one wick that works acceptably in most of the vessels a beginner might use, and none of the six candle kits CSI lists states that wick's size in its published contents. So you cannot confirm the match by reading the box. You confirm it with two measurements and one burn.

CSI candle kits whose published contents list states the wick's size — four name a wick, none names a size · a three-wick bracket for your own jar costs ₹247.80 and gives you 30 wicks · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Why was that particular wick in my kit? Because a kit is assembled around a price and a project, not around your jar. Of the six candle kits CSI lists, four name a wick in the published contents — Eco Braided Wicks (10) in the Aroma Candles kit, Eco braided Wicks (set of 5) in the PCM kit, Eco Braided Wicks (set of 10) in the Designer kit and "Braided/Primed/Eco Wick (10 Wicks)" in the Course kit. Not one of them states a size.

So how do I know if it matches my jar? You measure the jar's internal diameter at the height the melt pool will sit, and you weigh the jar filled with wax. Those two numbers — not the jar's millilitre rating — are what a wick has to be matched against.

And the wax? The wax changes the answer as much as the jar does. A kit that includes both a container wax and a pillar wax — as the ₹4,130 Candle Making Kit for Beginners does, with Luxury Soy Wax 500 g and Pillar Soy Wax 500 g — has already given you two different wick problems with one wick.

What do I do today? Pour the kit's wick as your middle case, then bracket it with one thinner and one thicker option and burn all three in the same jar with the same wax and the same load. Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) at ₹59 for 10 and Thick (C2) at ₹188.80 for 20 give you both flanks for ₹247.80.
The short answer
The kit's wick is a hypothesis, not a specification: treat it as the middle of three candidates. It is genuinely the most likely one to work, which is why kits ship it — but "most likely" is not "verified in your jar".
Two measurements settle it, and neither is on the box: internal diameter in centimetres at the pour line, and the weight of wax your jar actually holds. Millilitres tell you about liquid, not about a melt pool.
Nobody can size your wick from a distance, including us: two CSI wick pages state a diameter — Eco Candle Wicks Loose ("designed specifically for 2 inch diameters") and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made ("engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm"). The rest state none. Where a page is silent, bracket and burn.
Six CSI candle kits: what the published contents list says about the wick KIT & PRICE NAMES A WICK STATES A SIZE WAX TYPES Scented Jar Candle Kit · ₹555.78 1 Aroma Candles Kit (ACM) · ₹1,770 2 Candle Making Kit for Beginners · ₹4,130 2 Professional Course Kit (PCM) · ₹4,245.64 3 Designer Candle Kit (DCM) · ₹4,842.72 3 Complete Course Kit · ₹6,741.34 4 ■ stated in the contents list □ not stated · WAX TYPES = how many different waxes the same kit asks one wick to burn
Four of the six kits name a wick; none of the six gives it a size. Meanwhile the wax count climbs: the ₹6,741.34 Complete Course Kit puts jar soy, pillar soy, paraffin and gel wax in one box with ten wicks described as "Braided/Primed/Eco Wick". That is not a fault in the kit — it is what a kit is. It is also exactly why the wick question lands on you.
Straight answer
How do I know whether the wick that came in my kit matches my jar diameter and my wax?
You cannot know it from the kit, and you should stop trying: of the six candle kits CSI lists, four name a wick in the published contents and none states its size. What you can do is verify it in one evening. Take two numbers off your own jar — the internal diameter in centimetres at the height the wax will sit, and the weight of wax the jar actually holds, found by filling one and weighing it on a ₹354 scale. Then identify the wax, because the kit's wick has to burn whatever is in the bag: the ₹4,130 Candle Making Kit for Beginners lists Luxury Soy Wax 500 g and Pillar Soy Wax 500 g together, and a container soy and a pillar soy do not want the same wick. Now pour three identical jars — same wax, same fragrance load, same pour temperature — and change only the wick: the kit's wick in the middle, Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 on one flank and Thick (C2) at ₹9.44 on the other. A 10-pack of C1 and a 20-pack of C2 cost ₹247.80 together and give you 30 wicks, which is more test jars than you will pour this month. Burn each for two to three hours after a full cure and record how far the melt pool reaches, the flame height and any soot. The wick that produces a pool reaching the glass in roughly two to three hours without a tall or flickering flame is the one your kit should have contained. Nobody — not a video, not a chart, not us — can name it for you from a distance, because it depends on your glass, your wax and your load together.
One line: the kit's wick is the middle of three candidates, not the answer; measure the jar's internal diameter and true wax weight, then burn C1, the kit wick and C2 side by side in identical jars.
Everything a wick bracket needs: Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹59 for 10, Thick (C2) ₹188.80 for 20, Candle Wick Stickers ₹100 for 40 and a ₹118 Wick Centering Device pack of 5 so the wick is the only thing that changes.

What your kit's contents list actually tells you

A kit is a shopping list somebody else wrote for a project you have not chosen yet.

Start by reading your own kit the way a supplier reads it. A candle kit has to satisfy three constraints at once: it must contain a complete project, it must hit a price, and it must not need a different bill of materials for every customer. The third constraint is the one that produces your question. A kit cannot ship a wick matched to your jar, because the kit does not know which of the jars in the box you will use, how deep you will fill it, or which of the waxes in the box you will melt first.

The table below sets out what the published contents lists of CSI's six candle kits actually say. Everything in the wick column is a quote from the product page. Where a kit lists wick accessories but no wick, the table says so, because that is worth knowing before you plan an evening around it — confirm what is in the box on the product page or on WhatsApp before you buy.

Read that last column again: six kits, four wick lines, zero sizes. The Complete Course Kit's line does not even fix the wick family — "Braided/Primed/Eco Wick" covers three descriptions. None of this is hidden; it is printed on the pages, and the honest conclusion is that a kit sells you a project and a set of tools, and leaves the wick-to-jar match as your first real piece of candle making. If you have not bought a kit yet, the trade-off is set out in should I buy a candle making kit or buy supplies separately, and the specification-by-specification version is in what specifications to check when buying each raw material separately.
The mistake: assuming the kit's wick was matched to the kit's jar. It was matched to the kit — to the average of everything the kit can make. Look at the ACM kit: one wick line, two waxes (pillar and jar soy), and three vessels across two line items. Whatever those ten wicks are, they cannot be simultaneously correct for a jar candle in soy container wax and a moulded pillar in soy pillar wax. The fix is not to distrust the kit — it is to demote the kit's wick from "the answer" to "candidate number two of three", which costs you ₹247.80 and one weekend to resolve permanently.

What CSI's wick pages state — and where they are silent

The next honest step is to look at what the wick products themselves publish, because that is the only place a diameter figure can legitimately come from. CSI's wick collection lists seven products. Two of their pages state a diameter you can actually plan with. The rest do not, and a supplier telling you otherwise would be inventing a number. The table below covers six wick lines, with the two Eco Candle Wicks sizes shown on separate rows because they are the bracket you will most likely pour.

Stated wick sizing · verbatim from CSI product pages
Which wick pages give you a diameter, and what the rest give you instead
Wick What the page states about size Form Listed price What you can conclude
Eco Candle Wicks Loose (2 inch diameter) "designed specifically for 2 inch diameters" 5 m and 10 m lengths, cut your own ₹413 / 5 m · ₹708 / 10 m A genuine starting point for a jar around 5 cm across
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm"; "Height of the wick is 10.16 cm" Ready-made lengths ₹120 / 10 · ₹12 each at every pack size Use it for wide vessels; too much wick for a 6 cm jar
Eco Braided Wicks (5 meter) "the perfect solution for large diameter container jars" — no number 5 m and 10 m lengths ₹472 / 5 m · ₹826 / 10 m Directional only: wide jars. Bracket and burn-test
Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1) Not stated Ready-made, 10 to 1,000 per pack ₹59 / 10 · ₹5.90 each The thinner of the two ready-made sizes — your lower flank
Eco Candle Wicks · Thick (C2) Not stated on the wick page; several 200 ml jar pages state "Pairs well with C2 Eco Wicks" Ready-made, 20 to 1,000 per pack ₹188.80 / 20 · ₹9.44 each The only published jar-to-wick pairing in the range
Braided Wick Roll with 100 wick tabs (61 meters) Not stated; "100 Wick Tabs" 61 m roll, cut to your jar's depth ₹706.82 Solves length, not diameter. Still needs a burn test
Performance Wooden Wicks (Imported) Not stated; "One Pack contains 10 wicks and wick tabs" Ready-made, packs of 10 / 50 / 100 ₹590 / 10 · ₹2,360 / 50 · ₹4,130 / 100 A different burn character, not a size step. Test separately

Two conclusions follow, and both are useful. First, the published sizing information in this range is about extremes: one product is stated for roughly 5 cm, one for over 8 cm, and one is described qualitatively as suiting large jars. If your jar sits in the common 6–7.5 cm band — which most 120 g, 150 g and 200 ml jars do — no page will name your wick, and that is a fact about the whole category, not about one supplier. Second, the most concrete pairing published anywhere in the range is on a jar page, not a wick page: the 200 ml Salsa jars state "Pairs well with C2 Eco Wicks". If you own one of those jars, you have been handed a starting point. Everyone else brackets.

One published pairing is worth more than ten charts
When a page does name a wick, use it as your middle candidate instead of the kit's. Two examples in the CSI range: the Eco Soy CSI 400 page states "Recommended Wick Eco Wicks", and the 85 g Golden Aluminium Tin page says to pair it with "our C1 or C2" wicks — although that page calls them wooden wicks, while C1 and C2 are the two variants of the cotton Eco Candle Wicks. When a page contradicts itself like that, take the variant names as the reliable part and confirm on WhatsApp before you order 100 of anything.

The two measurements to take before you trust any wick

Your jar's millilitre rating is a shipping fact. Its internal diameter is a burning fact.

A wick has one job: to melt a pool of wax that reaches the container wall and stays there. Pool width is the thing the wick controls, which is why diameter — not volume, not weight, not height — is the primary input. The complication on most Indian jar listings, CSI's included, is that capacity is published in millilitres or as a fill weight while diameter is published inconsistently. Some CSI jar pages give it precisely; others give a width, an outer rim and a base figure; many give nothing.

Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid "Fill capacity: ~500 g - 700 g (2 sizes)" "Diameter (outer rim): Approx. 10 cm" ₹212.40 (500 g) · ₹250 (700 g) Both sizes list the same dimensions; a 10 cm vessel is a multi-wick question
Clear Glass Votive Jar 70 gram "Capacity: ~70g wax fill" Not stated ₹159.30 / 5 · ₹318.60 / 10 Everything geometric. Measure it
1
Measure the internal diameter, not the rimLay a steel ruler across the mouth of the empty jar and read the distance between the inside faces of the glass, not the outer edges. On a jar whose page states a 7 cm outer diameter and a 6.5 cm base, expect an internal figure in between. If the jar tapers, measure at the height the wax will reach, because that is where the melt pool has to touch glass.
2
Find the true wax weight by filling one jarZero a weighing scale with the empty jar on it, fill with melted wax to your intended level — about 1 cm below the rim — and read the grams. That number, not the millilitre rating, is what all your fragrance maths uses. A jar sold as 200 ml will not hold 200 g of soy wax, and no honest page claims it does. The arithmetic afterwards is in how much wax one candle actually needs.
3
Write down which wax you are testing, and its stated numbersIf the kit gave you two waxes, pick one and finish with it. Container soy for jars; pillar soy only for moulds. If your wax is Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, you have real numbers to work to: a stated load of 8% to 13% with 10% recommended, fragrance added at 80–90°C and a pour at 70–80°C. If the wax has no published figures, hold the load at 8% so the wick is the only variable.
4
Pour three identical jars and change only the wickSame jar model, same wax, same load, same pour temperature, same room. Wick A: Thin (C1). Wick B: the wick your kit supplied. Wick C: Thick (C2). Centre each one with a wick sticker and hold it straight with a Wick Centering Device — ₹118 for five — so a leaning wick cannot be mistaken for a wrong wick.
5
Cure, then burn each for two to three hoursGive the jars the cure the wax page asks for — the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page says a minimum of 48 hours and ideally one to two weeks before burn testing, and 14 to 21 days is the working assumption most soy makers use. Trim each wick to about 5 mm, burn in a draught-free room, never leave a burning candle unattended, and measure the pool with a ruler at 60, 120 and 180 minutes.
6
Repeat the winner before you believe itOne burn is an anecdote. Pour two more jars with the winning wick and burn them on different days. If both behave the same way, you have a wick for that jar-and-wax pair — and only for that pair. Change the jar or the wax and the bracket reopens.

Why the wax in the box changes the wick answer

Most kit buyers understand that a wider jar needs more wick. Fewer realise that two jars of identical width can need different wicks because the wax is different. Wax is the fuel the wick has to draw and burn; waxes differ in how readily they melt and how much fragrance oil they are formulated to hold, and both of those change what the flame has to do. This is the reason the same wick can tunnel in one wax and produce a flame that is too tall — a hazard, not a preference — in another.

CSI's kits complicate this deliberately, because a kit is meant to let you try several things. Every kit in the table above ships at least two waxes; the Complete Course Kit ships four families. The table below takes the waxes that appear in those kits and shows what their pages actually state, because the published numbers are what you set your test to.

"Gel Wax (1Kg)" Gel Wax Clear 1 Kg Slab · ₹590 Not stated Not stated Container candles, gel pillars, embeds

Notice how much of that table says "not stated". That is not a gap you fill with a number from somewhere else; it is a signal about how carefully to test. A wax with a published load and a published pour window lets you fix every variable except the wick on the first attempt. A wax with nothing published means you set the load yourself at a conservative 8%, write down the temperature you actually used, and accept that your bracket may need a second round. The jar-versus-mould half of the decision is unpacked in container candles vs pillar candles, and the wax-first version of this question is in how to build a first test candle around wax you already own.

Do not test the kit's wick in the pillar wax and conclude anything about your jars. This is the most common way a kit test goes to waste. The maker melts whichever bag opens first, pours a jar, gets a poor burn and orders different wicks. But Soy Pillar Wax is made to be poured into a mould and stand on its own, and its page states no fragrance load and no temperatures at all. A disappointing jar candle made from pillar wax tells you almost nothing about your wick. Finish one wax before you judge one wick.

The ₹247.80 bracket, laid out jar by jar

Here is the whole exercise costed. The point of the bracket is not to buy more wicks; it is to make one weekend produce an answer instead of an opinion. Three cards below cover the three honest options for widening or narrowing the kit's wick. Each shows every pack size, the price per wick, and how many single-wick jars a pack covers.

1
The bracket itself · two ready-made cotton sizes
Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1) and Thick (C2)
The workhorse of this test. Two sizes, both ready-made, both sold from 10 pieces up to 1,000, and both at a flat price per wick at every pack size — ₹5.90 for C1, ₹9.44 for C2 — so a 10-pack costs you nothing extra per wick over a 100-pack. The page does not state a jar diameter, and this guide will not invent one; what it does state is that these wicks "pair perfectly with soy wax, beeswax, and other eco-friendly waxes", and the Eco Soy CSI 400 page recommends Eco Wicks by name. Note that the Thick (C2) 10-pack is currently sold out, so the smallest C2 buy is the 20-pack at ₹188.80. One CSI customer, Ashwini, calls them a "Quality wick, works very well".

2
Wide vessels · the only stated diameter threshold
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
If the jar you are struggling with is a wide one — an apothecary vessel at around 10 cm across the rim, a clip-top container, a bowl — the kit's wick was never going to work and neither is a C1. This is the one CSI wick page that states a diameter condition: "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", with a stated wick height of 10.16 cm. At ₹12 each it is the cheapest per-piece wick in the range, flat from the pack of 10 to the pack of 1,000. It is described as ready made, which means cut to length with a tab already fitted — it is not primed and tabbed to a particular jar depth, so check the height against your vessel.
Size Price Per piece Single-wick jars
Pack of 10 ₹120 ₹12 ≈10
Pack of 50 ₹600 ₹12 ≈50
Pack of 100 ₹1,200 ₹12 ≈100

Pack of 1000 ₹12,000 ₹12 ≈1,000
₹12 per wick at every listed pack size · for vessels the page states as over 8 cm Buy Cotton Braided Wicks
3
A different burn character · not a size step
Performance Wooden Wicks (Imported)
Worth naming because kit buyers often reach for wooden wicks when a cotton wick disappoints, and it is a change of variable rather than a correction. A wooden wick burns with a visible flame and a crackle and produces a differently shaped pool; the page states only that "One Pack contains 10 wicks and wick tabs" and gives no diameter. It is imported, and it is the one wick in the range whose listed price steps down with pack size — ₹59 each at 10, ₹47.20 at 50, ₹41.30 at 100. Test it as its own experiment, on its own jar, after you have finished the cotton bracket. The cotton-versus-wooden decision is argued out in cotton wick vs wooden wick for a beginner.
Size Price Per piece Single-wick jars
Pack of 10 ₹590 ₹59 ≈10
Pack of 50 (Save 25%) ₹2,360 ₹47.20 ≈50
Pack of 100 (Save 30%) ₹4,130 ₹41.30 ≈100

Now the full cost of an answer. Six jars — three wicks, poured twice so you can repeat the winner — built on the 120 g Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid, whose page states a 120 gm capacity and a 6 cm diameter, filled with Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at 8%.

Six-jar wick bracket · CSI live pricing, September 2026
What it costs to settle the wick question for one jar-and-wax pair
Line Pack Price What it covers
Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid 2 × pack of 5 ₹472 Ten jars at ₹47.20 — six to pour, four spare
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 1 kg ₹599 Six jars need 662.4 g of wax; the rest is your second round
British Rose Fragrance Oil 100 gm ₹342.20 Six jars need 57.6 g — the 50 gm bottle at ₹212.40 would not cover them
Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1) 10 wicks ₹59 The lower flank, plus eight spares
Eco Candle Wicks · Thick (C2) 20 wicks ₹188.80 The upper flank; the 10-pack is sold out
Candle Wick Stickers 1 sheet · 40 ₹100 ₹2.50 each — keeps the wick from moving mid-pour
Wick Centering Device Pack of 5 ₹118 So a leaning wick is never mistaken for a wrong wick
Bracket total ₹1,879 Wicks alone are ₹247.80 of it
Worked out above: a 120 g candle at an 8% load is 110.4 g of wax and 9.6 g of oil. Wax: 6 × 110.4 g = 662.4 g, costing ₹0.599/g × 662.4 = ₹396.78 of the ₹599 kilo. Oil: 6 × 9.6 g = 57.6 g, which the 50 g bottle cannot cover — so the basket takes the 100 gm bottle at ₹342.20, or ₹3.422 per gram, ₹32.85 per jar. Per-jar materials, excluding the tools: ₹47.20 jar + ₹66.13 wax + ₹32.85 oil + ₹5.90 wick = ₹152.08 on a C1 jar. Load is calculated as a percentage of the finished candle; the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page phrases its 8–13% as a share of total wax weight, which is a slightly different basis and shifts the oil by well under a gram at this size.
Bracket settled? The same wicks scale without a price change: Thin (C1) ₹5.90 each from 10 to 1,000 pieces and Thick (C2) ₹9.44 each. For recurring volumes, GST invoicing or help reading a burn test, message the bulk line.

Reading the burn: what tells you the kit's wick was wrong

A wick does not fail vaguely. It fails in one of two directions, and each direction has a signature.

Once the three jars have burned, you are not grading candles — you are reading a measurement. Everything below is observable with a ruler, a clock and your eyes, and none of it requires equipment. Record it after every burn, for every jar, before you form an opinion.

Wick diagnosis · same jar, same wax, same load
Two directions of failure and the move each one calls for
What you see over 2–3 hours Most likely reading What it is not Next move
Pool stops short of the glass; a rim of unmelted wax survives Wick too small for this diameter in this wax Not a fragrance problem and not a cure problem Move one size up and repeat the burn
Pool reaches the glass in about 2–3 hours; flame steady and short Wick is in the right band — repeat to confirm Not proof yet. One burn is not a result Pour two more and burn on separate days
Tall, restless or flickering flame; glass hot to touch; soot on the rim Wick too large. This is a safety issue, not a style Not "a strong candle". Extinguish it Move one size down before anything else changes
Wick tip swells into a carbon ball, flame dances Mushrooming — often too much wick for the load Not necessarily the oil's fault Trim to ~5 mm each burn; test one size down
Pool reaches the glass but throw is disappointing A cure and load question, not a wick question Not a reason to change wick size Finish the cure, then revisit the load
Results differ between two identical jars Something other than the wick moved — draught, pour temperature, wick centring Not a reason to buy a third wick size Fix the process and repeat the same bracket

Two of those rows deserve emphasis. A flame that is too tall is a hazard, not a preference — put the candle out, let it cool and step the wick down; do not burn it to see whether it settles. And never diagnose from a single burn: the first correct move after a surprising result is to repeat the test, not to order a different material. The full diagnostic trees for the two commonest symptoms are in why is my candle tunnelling and why is my candle wick mushrooming, and the case where the wick is right and the candle still tunnels is covered in why does my candle tunnel even with the correct wick.

The CSI principle
A kit can ship you a wick. Only your jar can tell you whether it was the right one.
Everything a supplier can honestly publish about wick sizing is either a stated diameter range or silence. What no supplier can publish is the interaction between your glass, your wax and your load — which is the thing that actually sets the wick. The bracket is how you find it, and it costs less than the jars you will pour it into.
The wick in your kit is an average. Your jar is not an average.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and we also sell the kits described above. It would be easier to tell you that the wick in the box is the correct wick for your jar. We are telling you it is a starting point, because a maker whose third candle burns properly keeps buying wicks, and a maker who gives up after one tunnelled jar buys nothing again.

Every price, pack size and specification on this page comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Wick diameters are quoted only where the product page states one: "designed specifically for 2 inch diameters" on Eco Candle Wicks Loose and "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm" on Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made. Where a wick page states no diameter — Eco Candle Wicks C1 and C2, the Braided Wick Roll, the Performance Wooden Wicks — this guide says so rather than filling the gap with a figure from elsewhere. Kit contents are quoted from the kit product pages; confirm what is in a box before planning a session around it.

Frequently asked questions

What wick size do I need for a 7 cm jar?
No one can answer that honestly from a distance, and a page that names a size is guessing. Wick demand depends on the jar's internal diameter, the wax and the fragrance load together. What CSI publishes is this: Eco Candle Wicks Loose is stated for "2 inch diameters", Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made for "large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", and several 200 ml jar pages say they "pair well with C2 Eco Wicks". A 7 cm jar sits between the published anchors, so pour three jars — C1, your kit's wick, C2 — and read the melt pool.
Why did my kit come with wick stickers and a centering device but no wick?
Two CSI kits list wick accessories without naming a wick in the published contents: the ₹555.78 Scented Jar Candle Making Kit (Wick Centering Device, Wick Sticker) and the ₹4,130 Candle Making Kit for Beginners (Wick Stickers, Wick Straw, Wick Centering Device). That may be an omission in the listing rather than in the box, so check the product page or ask on WhatsApp before you plan a pour. Either way, ₹59 buys ten Thin (C1) wicks, which is enough for the kit's jar plus a bracket.
Can I use the same wick for the jar wax and the pillar wax in my kit?
You can physically, but the result of one tells you nothing about the other. Most kits ship both: the ACM kit lists Soy Pillar Wax 0.5 kg and Soy Jar Wax 0.5 kg against one wick line. Container soy is formulated to sit in glass; Soy Pillar Wax is made to be poured into a mould and stand alone, and its page states no fragrance load and no temperatures. Finish one wax, settle its wick, then start the other as a separate test.
How many wicks should I buy to test properly?
Thirty is plenty and costs ₹247.80 — a 10-pack of Thin (C1) at ₹59 plus a 20-pack of Thick (C2) at ₹188.80, since the C2 10-pack is currently sold out. Because the listed price per wick is flat across every pack size (₹5.90 for C1, ₹9.44 for C2), buying 100 saves nothing per wick; it only commits you to a size you have not proven. Buy small, prove the size, then scale to the 100- or 500-pack of the one that won.
My jar is 200 ml. How much wax and oil is that?
Unknown until you weigh it, and the millilitre figure will not tell you. Several CSI jar pages state capacity as a "fill weight of 200 ml" with a stated height of 8 cm and width of 7 cm — a volume, not a mass. Melt wax, fill one jar to about 1 cm below the rim, and weigh it. If that comes to 170 g, your 8% recipe is 156.4 g of wax and 13.6 g of oil. Do this once per jar model and write it on the shelf.
The flame on my kit candle is very tall. Is that a strong candle?
No — it is a wick that is too large for that jar and wax, and it is a safety problem. Extinguish it. A correctly wicked candle burns with a short, steady flame and reaches the glass in roughly two to three hours. Trim the wick to about 5 mm before every burn, keep the candle away from draughts, never leave it unattended, and step down one wick size before you change anything else. Do not raise the fragrance load to compensate; that is a separate variable and a separate test.
Settle the wick, then scale it
Two measurements, three jars, one weekend — and a wick you can order by the hundred with confidence.
Eco Candle Wicks from ₹59 for 10 in Thin (C1) and ₹188.80 for 20 in Thick (C2), Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made at ₹12 each for vessels the page states as over 8 cm, Performance Wooden Wicks from ₹590 for 10, wick stickers at ₹100 for 40 and a Wick Centering Device pack of five at ₹118. Message us once your bracket is done and we will quote the winning size in quantity.

Assumptions, labelled as such: the 8% starting load is this guide's conservative default, not a page specification; load is calculated as a percentage of finished candle weight (a 120 g candle = 110.4 g wax + 9.6 g oil), while the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page expresses its 8–13% as a share of total wax weight; the 14–21 day cure is a working judgement, not a published figure, and the only published cure guidance quoted here is the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks minimum of 48 hours, ideally one to two weeks; the "2–3 hours to a full melt pool" target is standard practice, not a measurement CSI publishes; the ~5 mm trim is general candle-safety practice.
