Quick answers — read this first
What is the rule? Buy in bulk what is fungible — usable across every product in your range. Test small what is specific — usable in only one.

Which lines are bulk-safe at a lakh? Wax and wicks, unconditionally. Jars, only if the jar is settled. Fragrance, only on a scent your own sales record already proves.

Am I losing a bulk discount by buying small? On CSI, almost none exists. CSI 464 is flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1kg up, and Luxury Soy Chunks' 10kg bag is ₹0.90/kg dearer than its 1kg. Across the ten oils costed below, kilograms instead of 100g bottles save 3.78% on the gram — and immobilise ₹40,578.24 to do it.

What does the plan total? ₹65,795.28 of real packs, leaving ₹34,204.72 for restocking whichever scent moves.
The short answer
Bulk, no conditions: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 per 10kg and Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) at a flat ₹5.90 per wick from 10 to 1,000.
Bulk only if settled: jars. A Black Matte Glass Jar is ₹70.80 each in a pack of 5 or 10 — no break at all — while a 200ml Salsa jar drops from ₹40.12 to ₹29.50 at 50 pieces. The biggest real discount sits on the line you are most likely to change.
Test small, always: fragrance. Citrus Lemon at ₹300 per 100g, British Rose at ₹342.20, Roasted Coffee at ₹390. Bulk follows evidence, never hope.

Stranding risk, lowest first — where bulk is safe and where it is not WICKS BUY PLENTY Flat ₹5.90 per wick from 10 to 1,000 — there is no bulk decision to make WAX BUY IN BULK One wax pours every scent you own, so a kilogram is never stranded by a scent JARS BULK ONLY IF SETTLED Carries every scent — but it is the line most often changed late, for looks FRAGRANCE TEST SMALL FIRST A kilogram of one oil is only ever that oil — if the scent stalls, so does the money
Bar length is stranding risk: how likely a rupee spent on that material is to stop being usable. Wicks fit every jar and cost the same at every pack size. Wax pours every scent. A jar carries every scent but is the line a brand restyles. A kilogram of one fragrance oil can only ever become candles of that one scent — which is why it is the last line to commit and the first to get wrong.
Straight answer
With ₹1 lakh, what do you buy in bulk and what do you buy in small packs?
Buy in bulk what is fungible across your whole range; test small what is specific to one product. Wax is fungible — the same CSI 464 pours lavender, coffee and oud alike, so a kilogram is never stranded by a scent that fails. Eco Wick Thin (C1) is flat at ₹5.90 per wick from 10 to 1,000, so there is no bulk decision at all — buy plenty. Jars are semi-fungible: one jar carries every scent, so bulk is safe provided the jar is settled, and the jar is the line most often changed late for aesthetic reasons. Fragrance is specific: a kilogram of one oil is only ever that oil, and if the scent does not move the money stops moving with it. So fragrance goes in the smallest pack that covers production you have actually committed, and the kilogram follows evidence. The plan below spends ₹65,795.28 and holds ₹34,204.72 back, because the reserve is what lets you restock the scent that works.
One line: bulk is for materials that any future product can absorb; small packs are for materials that only one product can absorb — and at a lakh, the mistake is never buying too little wax, it is buying ten kilograms of fragrance.
Start with the fungible lines. CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 per 10kg (flat ₹507.40/kg from 1kg up, published fragrance load up to 10%) and Eco Wick Thin (C1) at ₹2,950.00 per 500. Neither can be stranded by a scent decision.
Shop candle wax

Fungible or specific — the only rule you need

Dead inventory is not caused by buying too much. It is caused by buying too much of the wrong kind of thing.

Dead stock is not material you have not used yet — it is material that nothing you are likely to make next can absorb. So every raw material sits somewhere between fungible (any product in your range can absorb it) and specific (only one can), and nearer the specific end a bulk purchase is a bet on one decision staying right. Wax is the most fungible thing you will buy. The same Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 pours lavender, coffee and oud without modification; drop a scent next month and the wax goes into the next one. A kilogram of wax has no scent, colour or shape — it is potential, and potential does not expire. Fragrance is the most specific. A kilogram of Vanilla Bean is a kilogram of vanilla candles and nothing else; you cannot turn it into rose. If vanilla does not sell for you, ₹7,646.00 is immobilised until it does. That is how a well-intentioned first order becomes dead stock, and it happens because fragrance is the most exciting line to shop.

Jars are semi-fungible, and that is the interesting case. One jar carries every scent you own, so on fungibility it looks nearly as safe as wax. The risk is different in kind: the jar is the part the customer sees, which makes it the line a brand restyles — a taller glass, matte instead of gloss — for reasons unconnected to whether the old jar worked. So jar bulk is safe on the condition that the jar is settled: poured, cured, burned and photographed, and you are happy with all four.

Wicks are near-fungible and the question does not arise. Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) is ₹5.90 per wick at 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 — six pack sizes, one rate, so no discount to chase and no penalty for buying small. Buy comfortably more than you need: spares let you compare wicks without a second order, and CSI publishes no wick-sizing chart for any jar diameter, so your own burn record is the only authority you will have. Thick (C2) is flat too at ₹9.44, 20-piece pack and above in stock.

The CSI principle
Bulk belongs to the materials your future decisions cannot strand. Small packs belong to the materials a single decision can.
Rank your bill of materials by that test before you rank it by price. A 6% saving on a line you never use is not a saving — it is the full cost of the line.

The bulk discount you are chasing mostly does not exist

Now the finding that removes the main reason people over-buy, and it argues squarely against our interest. Most makers commit a large budget believing quantity buys a better rate. On CSI's wax ladder it mostly does not. CSI has no 100kg pack of anything — the ladder is 500g, 1kg, 5kg and 10kg, with one exception: Natural Soy Pearl Wax also comes in 50kg at ₹21,240.00 — so 100kg is assembled from the packs that exist, and the comparison is this.

100kg of wax · assembled from real CSI packs
What committing to the big pack actually saves
Wax Largest pack 100kg via largest pack 100kg via 1kg packs What bulk buys you
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10kg · ₹5,074.00 ₹50,740.00 ₹50,740.00 ₹0.00. Flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1kg up
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 10kg · ₹5,999.00 ₹59,990.00 ₹59,900.00 The big bag is ₹90.00 dearer over 100kg
Soy Pillar Wax 10kg · ₹6,000.00 ₹60,000.00 ₹60,000.00 ₹0.00. Flat at ₹600.00/kg throughout
Eco Soy CSI 400 5kg · ₹1,996.00 ₹39,920.00 ₹39,900.00 The 5kg is ₹20.00 dearer over 100kg
Natural Soy Pearl Wax 50kg · ₹21,240.00 ₹42,480.00 ₹45,000.00 ₹2,520.00 saved — the only real break in the range
And even that one break is captured at 5kg, not at 50kg. Natural Soy Pearl Wax is ₹450.00/kg at 1kg and ₹424.80/kg at 5kg, 10kg and 50kg alike, so the entire ₹2,520.00 advantage over 100kg is secured by a single ₹2,124.00 purchase of the 5kg pack; the 50kg bag saves nothing against ten 5kg bags and commits ₹21,240.00. One caveat: it publishes no fragrance-load ceiling. Only Luxury Soy Chunks (13% of total wax weight), CSI 464 (10%) and CSI 468 (13%) publish one. Also: CSI 464's 500g works out at ₹520.00/kg against ₹507.40/kg for every larger pack, so buy a part-kilogram tail as a 1kg, never a 500g.

Fragrance behaves the same way. Across the range the kilogram saves between −₹1 and +₹499 against two 500g packs — zero to 6.7%. On Sandalwood and Woody Oud it saves exactly ₹0.00; on Jasmine the kilogram is ₹1 dearer than two 500g bottles (₹3,923.00 against ₹3,922.00). Real breaks exist — Mint Sandalwood's kilogram at ₹4,999.00 saves ₹491.00 (8.9%) against ten 100g packs at ₹5,490.00 — but they are small, uneven, and nowhere near enough to justify a kilogram of a scent you have not sold.

Jars are the exception, and that is precisely the trap. They are the one line with genuine volume breaks: a 200ml Salsa Glass Jar falls from ₹40.12 each at 5 pieces to ₹29.50 at 50 (26.5%), Mini Glass Jars from ₹25.96 to ₹21.24 at 100 (18.2%), while the matte glass family has no break at all. The material offering the largest real discount is the one most likely to be changed for reasons unconnected to cost — which is why the jar condition below is a condition, not a recommendation. Pack sizes vary by jar (1, 5, 6, 10, 12, 20, 50 and 100 all appear), so read the listing.

What ten kilograms of fragrance actually exposes

If the rate is not the reason to buy big, the bulk question was never a price question. It is a cash immobilisation question. Here is that arithmetic on ten real CSI oils, a plausible opening range.

Ten scents · 100g bottle against the kilogram
The entire per-gram prize for committing ten times the cash
Oil 100g 1kg ₹/g at 100g ₹/g at 1kg ₹/g saved
Lavender ₹540.00 ₹5,221.00 ₹5.400 ₹5.221 ₹0.179
Vanilla Bean ₹790.00 ₹7,646.00 ₹7.900 ₹7.646 ₹0.254
Roasted Coffee ₹390.00 ₹3,738.00 ₹3.900 ₹3.738 ₹0.162
Woody Oud ₹453.12 ₹4,531.20 ₹4.531 ₹4.531 ₹0.000
Sandalwood ₹502.68 ₹5,026.80 ₹5.027 ₹5.027 ₹0.000
British Rose ₹342.20 ₹3,068.00 ₹3.422 ₹3.068 ₹0.354
Jasmine ₹430.00 ₹3,923.00 ₹4.300 ₹3.923 ₹0.377
Cinnamon Vanilla ₹483.80 ₹4,554.80 ₹4.838 ₹4.555 ₹0.283
Citrus Lemon ₹300.00 ₹2,832.00 ₹3.000 ₹2.832 ₹0.168
Apple Cinnamon ₹474.36 ₹4,743.60 ₹4.744 ₹4.744 ₹0.000
Ten scents ₹4,706.16 ₹45,284.40 ₹4.706 ₹4.528 ₹0.178

Read the last row twice. Ten kilograms, one per scent, is ₹45,284.40 — 45.3% of the whole lakh in one line. The same ten as 100g bottles is ₹4,706.16, and the difference, ₹40,578.24, stays in your account. What does committing it buy? ₹4.528 per gram against ₹4.706 — ₹0.178 per gram, or 3.78%, which over all ten kilograms is ₹1,777.20, and only if you use every gram. On Woody Oud, Sandalwood and Apple Cinnamon it is ₹0.00: kilogram and 100g bottle are per-gram identical.

Now the exposure, carefully, because this page cannot and does not predict which of your scents will sell, or whether any will. Nobody who sells you raw materials is in a position to know that. What we can do is state the exposure, conditional on an assumption that is yours: assume, as your own working figure, that four of your ten opening scents find no buyer in the first season. We are not saying four will, and certainly not which four. On the kilogram plan the money sitting still is four kilogram prices — ₹13,561.00 (Citrus Lemon, British Rose, Roasted Coffee, Jasmine) to ₹22,637.40 (Vanilla Bean, Lavender, Sandalwood, Apple Cinnamon), averaging ₹18,113.76. On the 100g plan it is four bottles: ₹1,462.20 to ₹2,307.04, averaging ₹1,882.46. Same assumption, same scents, same business; on the average case ₹16,231.30 more is immobilised, and the premium for that protection is 3.78% on the gram.

What a 100g bottle actually produces
At 16g per candle a 100g bottle makes 6 candles and a 1kg bottle 62. Six is a test batch, a photograph, a retained sample and two or three units in front of real buyers: deliberately not stock. The 100g bottle buys information, the kilogram buys units. Where six is too few for a scent you do have evidence for, the 500g sits in between on most oils — Sandalwood's is exactly half its kilogram at ₹2,513.40. Not every oil has every size: Mint Sandalwood and Vanilla Orange Blossom have no 500g, several Royal-line oils no 15g or 50g, Tobacco Vanilla starts at 100g.
Ten scents as 100g bottles is ₹4,706.16 and buys a season of evidence. Fifteen-gram sizes exist on many oils to screen wider still — Citrus Lemon is ₹81.42 for 15g. The worked ₹1 lakh plan, to the rupee

In packs CSI actually sells, nothing rounded and nothing invented. The production figures are yours, not ours: 200g container candles, 8% fragrance of finished weight (16g oil, 184g wax), ten opening scents, two of them already proven on your own sales record. The two named as proven below stand in for whichever two your record justifies — real prices, your choice. If none is proven yet, skip to the last section.

1
Wax, in bulk — six 10kg packs of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, ₹30,444.00Sixty kilograms, which at 184g per candle is 326 candles (60,000 ÷ 184 = 326.09) — deliberately more than the fragrance below will scent, because no scent decision can strand wax and the ladder is flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1kg up. CSI 464 publishes a load of up to 10%, the one reason to prefer it over Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00/kg, which publishes no ceiling. On Natural Soy Pearl Wax, buy 5kg packs and up — that is where its one real break lands.
2
Jars, in bulk only because the jar is settled — 200 Black Matte Glass Jars, ₹14,160.00Buy this quantity only if you have poured, cured, burned and photographed a candle in this exact jar and are happy with all four. If not, buy one pack of 10 at ₹708.00, settle the product, then come back — this is where ₹14,160.00 becomes a styling regret. This family publishes no fill capacity, so pour one and weigh it; a "200ml" jar is a volume, not a 200g fill. For a published fill weight, the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid at ₹212.40 states 500g.
3
Wicks, generously, because it is free to be — 650 Eco Candle Wicks, ₹4,012.00Six hundred Thin (C1) plus fifty Thick (C2) for comparison burns. Against 172 committed candles that looks absurd until you notice the rate is ₹5.90 whether you buy 10 or 1,000: three times what you need costs three times as much and saves a reorder, a wait, and the temptation to use the wrong wick because the right one ran out.
4
Fragrance, to committed production only — ₹13,911.28Kilograms for the two scents your record proves — Lavender ₹5,221.00 and Sandalwood ₹5,026.80 — and 100g each of the eight it does not: Vanilla Bean, Roasted Coffee, Woody Oud, British Rose, Jasmine, Cinnamon Vanilla, Citrus Lemon and Apple Cinnamon, at the prices in the table above, ₹3,663.48. That is 2,800g, or 172 candles — 62 from each kilogram, 6 from each 100g bottle. Bulk follows evidence: on a proven scent the kilogram is correct; on an unproven one it is a bet dressed as a saving.
5
Stickers, colour and tools — ₹3,268.00Five sheets of Candle Wick Stickers at ₹100.00 per 40 (the 100-sticker variant is out of stock), one roll of Candle Care Stickers at ₹413.00 per 500, and colour tested small — 15ml of Candle Dye Liquid Purple and 15ml of Candle Dye Liquid Blue at ₹236.00 each, because a colour belongs to one product line. Plus the one-off tool set: Pen Thermometer ₹354.00, Weighing Scale ₹354.00, Steel Pouring Pitcher 600ml ₹708.00, CSI Pro Mixer ₹349.00 and Bamboo Stirring Sticks ₹118.00 = ₹1,883.00, which is 1.88% of a lakh but 38% of a ₹5,000 budget.
6
The lines CSI does not sell — ₹0.00 here, and not ₹0.00 for youCSI stocks no standalone lids, no retail or gift boxes, no shipping cartons, no printed labels, no box inserts, no cushioning and no packing tape. Not one, so not one is priced here — but they are in your bill of materials, and a plan that quietly omits them is worse than one that marks the gap: outer boxes ₹____ · printed labels ₹____ · inserts and cushioning ₹____ · tape ₹____ · courier ₹____. Get those from your own printer and packaging supplier before quoting a client. Some jars ship with a lid as part of the jar product — read the title rather than budgeting one separately.

172 candles are fully scented and ready to pour, while the wax, jars and wicks stretch past them — 326 candles of wax, 200 jars, 650 wicks. That surplus is not waste, because none of it is scent-specific; it is what the reserve will spend itself on.

The reserve is the most useful line in the plan and the one most people delete. ₹34,204.72 exists for one job: restocking the scent that moves, before the demand goes cold. That is the failure mode that kills otherwise healthy small businesses — not a slow scent, but a fast one you cannot refill because every rupee is sitting in nine other bottles. One restock round for a single proven scent is a kilogram of its oil at ₹5,221.00, 15kg more wax (a 10kg at ₹5,074.00 plus a 5kg at ₹2,537.00 = ₹7,611.00), 70 more jars (7 packs at ₹708.00 = ₹4,956.00) and 100 more wicks at ₹590.00 — ₹18,378.00 for 62 more candles of that scent, with wax to spare. The reserve funds that round and still leaves ₹15,826.72. Before you build any schedule around a festive date, confirm the current lead time on WhatsApp: CSI publishes no dispatch or delivery time and this page will not invent one.

The denominator trap, and the samples you must keep

Eight per cent of what? Get that wrong once and a lakh-sized order is wrong by kilograms.

Write it down before you place a bulk order. Fragrance load is a percentage — of finished candle weight, or of wax weight. They are different purchases. A 200g candle at 8% of finished weight is 16g of oil and 184g of wax; at 8% of the wax it is 14.8g and 185.2g. On one candle that 1.2g goes unnoticed; on the 60kg above it does not. At 8% of finished weight, 60kg requires 60 × (0.08 ÷ 0.92) = 5.217kg of oil; at 8% of wax weight, 60 × 0.08 = 4.800kg. The gap is 417g — more than four of the 100g test bottles in this plan, about ₹1,890 at the ₹4.53 per gram average of the ten oils costed here. Neither figure is wrong; using one convention on the recipe sheet and the other on the purchase order is.

The trap has teeth, because the two conventions collide inside CSI's own catalogue. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks states its ceiling as "up to 13% of total wax weight" — denominator named. CSI 464 states "fragrance load up to 10%" without naming it. So a maker pouring at "10% of finished weight" in CSI 464 — 20g of oil into 180g of wax — is at 20 ÷ 180 = 11.1% of wax weight, above that listing's stated 10% if the listing means wax weight. Decide the convention, write it on the recipe sheet, use the same one on every purchase order. These are wax-manufacturer formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and not interchangeable: Chunks 13%, CSI 464 10%, CSI 468 13%, and the other thirteen waxes publish no ceiling at all.

Retained samples are the second thing a maker at this scale cannot skip, and they are a purchase line, not a note: one finished candle per scent per batch, labelled, kept unburned and unsold. When a customer reports a fault six weeks after delivery, examining a candle from that batch is the only way to establish whether the batch is at fault — keep none and you cannot separate a product fault from a usage issue. Cost it: one retained 200g candle on this recipe is ₹93.36 of CSI 464 (184g at ₹0.5074/g), a ₹70.80 jar, a ₹5.90 wick, a ₹2.50 wick sticker and 16g of oil — on Lavender at kilogram pricing, ₹83.54 — giving ₹256.10. Ten of them, one per scent at each scent's own kilogram rate, come to ₹2,450.15: 2.45% of the lakh, and the cheapest insurance here. A 172-candle pour is a 162-candle sellable batch. Keep a one-page record beside each sample — wax and oil products and packs, the load with its denominator named, add and pour temperatures, stir time, jar, wick, pour and burn-test dates — and change one variable per test batch.

What we are telling you not to buy

We sell raw materials, so let us be blunt about what this page costs us. The plan deliberately leaves ₹34,204.72 of your lakh unspent, and recommends a 100g bottle rather than a kilogram on every one of the eight scents you have not proven. Both mean we sell you less today: on fragrance alone it is the difference between an order of ₹13,911.28 and one of ₹45,284.40, so we are talking ourselves out of ₹31,373.12 on a single line, because we would rather sell you 100g bottles twice than kilogram bottles once. Not generosity — a maker whose first lakh turns into nine stalled bottles does not place a second order. One more thing we would rather you did not buy yet: the 20-litre Electric Wax Melter at ₹23,600.00 is 23.6% of the whole lakh, equipment bought ahead of the work at this pour volume; the 1-litre Mini Electric Wax/Soap Melter at ₹2,360.00 is the proportionate version if melting by hand is genuinely slowing you down.

If your formula is not settled, do not spend a lakh at all. Can you name, right now, the wax, the jar, the wick, the load with its denominator, the add temperature and the cure length? If any one is still open, the correct first purchase is not this plan but a development purchase: one 1kg of wax, one pack of 10 jars, a pack of 10 or 20 wicks, five or six 15g or 100g fragrance bottles, a thermometer and a scale. A few thousand rupees, buying the only thing you are short of — information. Come back to the lakh when those six answers are written down and burned candles prove them.
Nobody ever went out of business holding too much wax. They went out holding nine kilograms of the wrong nine scents.

Finally, if another supplier has quoted you a 25kg carton, a 100kg slab rate, a 5kg fragrance drum or a 15% volume discount, those are their terms — judge any of them by weighing the discount against the cost of holding the stock and the chance you use it. Do not assume CSI's ladder works that way. CSI has no 25kg wax pack, no 100kg pack and no fragrance pack above 1kg, and publishes no MOQ, slab, rate card, quantity discount or credit term. Above 1kg of fragrance the honest answer is multiples of the 1kg bottle or a quote on WhatsApp, with no discount promised because none is published. More on sourcing and costing: what it actually costs to start, how much fragrance oil a business needs and the complete raw-material list.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and this page argues against our own revenue twice. It says there is almost no bulk discount to chase on our wax ladder — CSI 464 flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1kg up, Luxury Soy Chunks' 10kg bag ₹0.90/kg dearer than its 1kg, Eco Soy CSI 400's 5kg ₹0.20/kg dearer — and it tells you to buy 100g fragrance bottles instead of kilograms on every unproven scent.

Every price, pack size and ceiling here is from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification take precedence. Only in-stock variants are priced. CSI publishes no minimum order quantity, price slab, rate card, quantity discount, credit term, wastage percentage or dispatch and delivery time — none appears here, and the production figures and the four-scents-do-not-sell assumption are the reader's own, not CSI guidance. We project no sales, demand or margin.

Fragrance ceilings are formulation limits set by the wax maker, not regulatory limits. For pack availability, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, or to confirm the current lead time, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

With ₹1 lakh, which candle materials should I buy in bulk?
Buy in bulk whatever any product in your range can absorb. Wax first — CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 per 10kg pours every scent you own. Wicks next and generously, because Eco Wick Thin (C1) is a flat ₹5.90 per wick from 10 to 1,000. Jars only if the jar is settled — poured, cured, burned and photographed. Fragrance last and smallest.
Do I get a better price per kilogram if I buy a lot of wax from CSI?
Mostly no. CSI 464 is flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1kg up, so 100kg as ten 10kg packs costs ₹50,740.00 — identical to a hundred 1kg packs. Luxury Soy Chunks' 10kg bag is ₹0.90/kg dearer than its 1kg; Eco Soy CSI 400's 5kg is ₹0.20/kg dearer. The one genuine break is Natural Soy Pearl Wax: ₹450.00/kg at 1kg falling to ₹424.80/kg at 5kg and flat above. CSI publishes no slab, MOQ, rate card or quantity discount.
Is a 1kg fragrance bottle cheaper than ten 100g bottles?
Only slightly, and on some oils not at all. Across the ten oils costed here the kilogram is ₹4.528 per gram against ₹4.706 — a 3.78% saving, or ₹1,777.20 if you use every gram of all ten. On Woody Oud, Sandalwood and Apple Cinnamon it is exactly ₹0.00 — per-gram identical. There is no fragrance pack above 1kg in the catalogue.
How many candles does 100g of fragrance oil make?
Six 200g candles at 8% of finished weight — 16g of oil each; a 1kg bottle makes 62. That is why the 100g bottle suits an unproven scent: enough for a test batch, a photograph, a retained sample and a few units in front of real buyers, deliberately not enough to be stock. State your denominator — at 8% of wax weight the same candle takes 14.8g.
How much of my ₹1 lakh should I leave unspent?
The plan here spends ₹65,795.28 and holds ₹34,204.72 back, with one named job for the reserve: restocking the scent that moves before the demand cools. One restock round for a proven scent — 1kg of its oil, 15kg more wax, 70 more jars, 100 more wicks — is ₹18,378.00 at September 2026 pricing, leaving ₹15,826.72. A plan with no reserve cannot respond to its own good news.
Should I buy jars in bulk to get the better per-piece price?
Only once the jar is settled. Jars are the one line with real volume breaks — a 200ml Salsa Glass Jar drops from ₹40.12 each at 5 to ₹29.50 at 50, Mini Glass Jars from ₹25.96 to ₹21.24 at 100, while the matte glass family has no break at all. The jar is also the line most often changed late for aesthetic reasons, so the biggest discount sits on the riskiest commitment. Pack sizes vary by jar and most families publish no fill capacity — pour one and weigh it; a "200ml" jar is a volume, not a 200g fill.
Bulk follows evidence
Buy the fungible lines deep. Buy the specific lines small. Keep a third of the lakh for the scent that works.
CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 per 10kg with a published 10% load, Eco Wick Thin (C1) flat at ₹5.90 per wick at every pack size, matte glass jars at ₹70.80 each, and 92 fragrance oils in 15g, 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg. No MOQ, no slab, no rate card, and no fragrance pack above 1kg. GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA on request.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. Product recommendations reflect the CSI range; the fungible-versus-specific test, the immobilisation arithmetic and the denominator convention apply to any supplier. The ₹1,00,000 budget, the 200g candle size, the ten-scent opening range, the two-proven-scents split and the assumption that four of ten scents do not sell are all the reader's own working figures, used as given. CSI publishes no retail price, margin, markup or COGS guidance, and this page projects no sales, demand, reorder rate or business outcome.
