The requirement is 1.6 kg of fragrance oil and 18.4 kg of wax. The purchase is a different number, because packs come in fixed sizes, because "8%" means two different things, and because a 100-candle order is never a 100-candle purchase. All three are worked out below.
18.4 kg + 1.6 kg
wax and fragrance oil for 100 × 200 g candles at 8% of finished weight · CSI live pricing, September 2026 · the linked product page is always authoritative
Quick answers — read this first
How much wax and oil for 100 × 200 g candles at 8%? 100 × 200 g = 20,000 g finished. 8% of that is 1,600 g of oil = 1.6 kg; the rest is 18,400 g of wax = 18.4 kg. Per candle: 16 g oil, 184 g wax.

8% of what, exactly? The question that costs people money. 8% of finished weight gives 16 g per candle; 8% of wax weight gives 14.8 g. Across 5,000 candles that is 80 kg against 74.07 kg — nearly 6 kg of oil.

What do I put in the cart? On Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 the nearest real combination is 1 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 3 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g = 18.5 kg for ₹9,393.20. For the oil, 1 kg + 500 g + 100 g — because no fragrance pack above 1 kg exists.

Does buying bigger get me a better rate? Usually no. CSI 464 is flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1 kg upwards. On Luxury Soy Wax Chunks the 10 kg bag is ₹0.90/kg dearer than the 1 kg. Only Natural Soy Pearl Wax has a genuine break.
The short answer
The requirement: 1.6 kg fragrance oil + 18.4 kg wax, for 100 candles of 200 g each at 8% of finished weight. Per candle, 16 g and 184 g.
The purchase, on CSI 464: 18.5 kg of wax as 10 kg + 5 kg + 3 × 1 kg + 500 g = ₹9,393.20, and 1.6 kg of Sandalwood as 1 kg + 500 g + 100 g = ₹8,042.88. Two 1 kg bottles would be ₹10,053.60 with 400 g over.
Then add what the calculation leaves out: transfer loss you measure yourself, approval samples, retained samples and replacements. Worked below at 111 units the purchase is ₹25,439.12 — ₹254.39 per saleable candle in materials CSI supplies.

The conversion chain — from finished candle weight to packs you can put in a cart wax = solid · fragrance oil = lighter block, same scale 1 — What you must pour 100 × 200 g = 20.00 kg of finished candle 2 — Split at 8% of that 18.40 kg wax · 184 g per candle 3 — Plus your own buffer 19.14 kg wax · illustration only, at a measured 4% transfer loss 4 — Packs that exist 19.5 kg bought as 10 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 0.5 kg Fragrance oil, the right-hand block on each row: 1.60 kg needed, 1.70 kg with the illustrative buffer, bought as 1 kg + 500 g + 2 × 100 g. Left over at the end of the run: 364 g of wax (₹184.69 at ₹507.40/kg) and 4 g of oil (₹20.11 at ₹5.0268/g). The bars stop where the catalogue stops. The largest pack of this wax is 10 kg, and the largest fragrance pack anywhere on the store is 1 kg. Scale: 23 px = 1 kg, so every block above is to scale against every other. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and Sandalwood Fragrance Oil, CSI live pricing September 2026.
Read it downwards: what the candles contain, how that splits at 8%, what your own measured transfer loss adds, and what the catalogue will actually sell you. Rows 1 and 2 are the same total width because row 2 is simply row 1 divided. The 4% on row 3 is an illustration used to show the mechanism — CSI publishes no wastage or production-loss percentage, and this page invents none. You measure yours, on one batch, with a weighing scale.
Straight answer
How many kilograms of wax and fragrance oil do 100 × 200 g candles at 8% need?
100 candles × 200 g = 20,000 g of finished candle. At 8% of finished weight, fragrance oil is 0.08 × 20,000 = 1,600 g, or 1.6 kg, and wax is the remaining 18,400 g, or 18.4 kg — per candle, 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax. Now turn it into a cart. On Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg the nearest real combination is 1 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 3 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g = 18.5 kg for ₹9,393.20, because the wax ladder is 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg and nothing else — there is no 25 kg carton on this store. For the oil, nothing above 1 kg exists, so 1.6 kg of Sandalwood is 1 kg + 500 g + 100 g = ₹8,042.88. Then settle two things before you order: whether your "8%" is of finished weight or of wax weight, because the difference is 1.6 kg against 1.48 kg, and how much your own kit leaves behind, because that is a number you measure, not one CSI publishes. Add approval samples, retained samples and replacements — a 100-candle order is not a 100-candle purchase — and confirm stock and lead time on WhatsApp before you promise a client a date.
One line: 1.6 kg of fragrance oil and 18.4 kg of wax — then round up into packs that exist, add your own measured transfer loss, and buy for 111 units rather than 100.
The whole 18.4 kg on one wax: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 per 10 kg, ₹2,537.00 per 5 kg, ₹507.40 per 1 kg and ₹260.00 per 500 g. That is ₹507.40/kg at every size from 1 kg upwards, so the big bag buys you fewer parcels, not a lower rate.

The arithmetic, shown in full

The whole cluster rests on four lines of multiplication. Learn them once.

Start from what you are selling. Finished weight is the wax plus the fragrance oil in the jar — not the jar, not the wick, not the lid — so the mass you must pour is 100 × 200 g = 20,000 g, or 20 kg. Everything else here is that number divided up.

1
Total poured mass100 candles × 200 g = 20,000 g = 20.00 kg. Write it in grams. Kilograms invite rounding errors and grams do not.
2
Fragrance oil at 8% of finished weight0.08 × 20,000 g = 1,600 g = 1.6 kg. Per candle: 0.08 × 200 g = 16 g.
3
Wax is the remainder20,000 g − 1,600 g = 18,400 g = 18.4 kg. Per candle: 200 g − 16 g = 184 g. A subtraction, not a second percentage — 92% of 20,000 g gives the same answer, but subtraction is harder to get wrong.
4
Sanity-check against one kilogram1 kg of oil at 16 g per candle covers 62 candles (62.5, floored). So 100 candles needs more than a kilogram and less than two — an answer of 0.8 kg or 3 kg means the arithmetic went wrong.

Those four lines scale to any order: at 6% the same hundred candles need 1.2 kg of oil and 18.8 kg of wax, at 10% it is 2 kg and 18 kg. Keep unit weight and load as two separate variables in your notes.

Weigh, never measure by volume
Fragrance load is a weight percentage, and oils differ in density, so 16 ml is not 16 g. A Candle Making Weighing Scale at ₹354.00 is the cheapest thing on this page and the one that makes every other number on it true.
The jar is where this calculation quietly breaks. A "200 g candle" only exists if your jar holds 200 g of your wax, and most CSI jar families publish no fill capacity — no jar on the store publishes a 200 g one. The 200ml Salsa Glass Jar is described by volume, and 200 ml is a volume, not a 200 g fill. Pour one, weigh what went in, calculate from that. At 180 g your run needs 18 kg rather than 20 kg — a kilogram of wax and 160 g of oil you do not buy. One family does state a weight: the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid at 150 g.

"8% of what?" — the denominator trap

The most expensive ambiguity in candle making, and it sits unresolved inside CSI's own product copy.

A fragrance load of 8% is a ratio, and a ratio needs a denominator. There are two in circulation, both used by serious people, and they give different answers:

The same "8%", two conventions
One 200 g candle, and then the same maths across 100 and 5,000 units
Convention Per 200 g candle Oil for 100 candles Oil for 5,000 candles
8% of finished weight
oil ÷ (wax + oil)
16.0 g oil + 184.0 g wax 1.600 kg 80.00 kg
8% of wax weight
oil ÷ wax
14.8 g oil + 185.2 g wax 1.481 kg 74.07 kg
Difference 1.2 g of oil per candle 119 g — about ₹596 of Sandalwood 5.93 kg — about ₹29,788 of Sandalwood

The working. On finished weight the oil is 8% of 200 g — 16 g, leaving 184 g of wax. On wax weight the two must still sum to 200 g, so wax = 200 ÷ 1.08 = 185.185 g and oil = 14.815 g. On a 5,000-candle order that is 74.07 kg against 80.00 kg.

And the two conventions genuinely collide inside CSI's own catalogue. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks states its ceiling as "Max fragrance load 13% of total wax weight" — explicitly the wax-weight denominator. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states "Fragrance Load Up to 10%", naming no denominator at all. So a maker pouring "10% of finished weight" in CSI 464 puts 20 g of oil into 180 g of wax — 20 ÷ 180 = 11.1% of wax weight, over the stated maximum on one reading and exactly at it on the other. The listing does not settle it, so you should: write the denominator into your recipe sheet and use one convention across every scent. These ceilings are formulation limits set by the wax maker, not regulatory limits.

The conversion runs both ways: Chunks' 13% of wax weight is 23.0 g of oil in 177.0 g of wax, or 11.5% of finished weight, while 10% of wax weight is 9.1% of finished. The gap widens as the load rises. This page uses 8% of finished weight throughout.

The CSI principle
A percentage without a denominator is not a specification. It is a guess with a decimal point.
Two makers can both say "we pour at 8%", both be telling the truth, and be 1.2 g apart on every candle. At a hundred units that is a rounding error. At five thousand it is six kilograms of fragrance oil and a purchase order you cannot reconcile.
Fragrance oils ship in 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg and nothing larger. So 1.6 kg is always a combination, never a single bottle — and 92 oils are in stock to combine it from. Ask for MSDS and IFRA documentation on WhatsApp if a client needs it on file.

Kilograms into packs that actually exist

18.4 kg is not a pack. 1.6 kg is not a bottle. The assembly is where the money moves.

Wax comes in 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg, with one exception: Natural Soy Pearl Wax also has a 50 kg variant at ₹21,240.00. There is no 25 kg carton of anything — if you have been quoted one, that is another supplier's pack.

Three things in that table deserve saying out loud, and two of them cost CSI money.

On most CSI waxes, rounding up to a bigger pack buys convenience, not a discount. CSI 464 is flat at ₹507.40/kg at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg alike: the 10 kg bag saves nothing per kilogram, only handling and parcels. Worse, on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks the 10 kg bag is ₹0.90/kg dearer than the 1 kg — ₹599.90/kg against ₹599.00/kg — and the 500 g pack is cheapest of the four at ₹598.00/kg. Pushed to its end, the cheapest way to buy 18.5 kg of Chunks is 37 packs of 500 g at ₹11,063.00, ₹27.00 under the sensible route. Nobody should open 37 bags for ₹27.00. The saving is not there to be had, so any page telling you to buy bigger and save is describing a different supplier.
One wax does have a real volume break
Natural Soy Pearl Wax is ₹450.00/kg at 1 kg and ₹424.80/kg at 5 kg, 10 kg and 50 kg — a real drop of ₹25.20/kg, about 5.6%, flat above 5 kg. It is the cheapest soy available in packs above 5 kg, though not the cheapest soy on the store outright — Eco Soy CSI 400 is ₹399.00/kg, on a ladder that stops at 5 kg and publishes no fragrance-load ceiling. So the expensive way to finish an order here is topping up with 1 kg packs: 1 × 10 kg + 2 × 5 kg is 20 kg for ₹8,496.00, only ₹324.00 above the 19 kg route. Note what it does not publish, though: no fragrance-load ceiling at all. If a stated ceiling matters to your documentation, that is worth more than the ₹1,221.20 saved.

One reason the leftover matters less than it looks: CSI 464 and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 are the only two CSI waxes that publish a shelf life, both stated as "60 months (cool, dry storage)". The other fourteen publish none, so do not assume one. On a wax with five stated years in it, the 364 g you carry forward is not waste, it is next month's batch — which is why rounding up to the next pack is a storage decision rather than a loss. Keep it sealed, cool and out of sunlight, which is the only storage instruction CSI publishes.

1.6 kg of fragrance oil, where nothing above 1 kg exists

The fragrance ladder stops at 1 kg. There is no 2 kg, 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance bottle anywhere on the store, so 1.6 kg is always assembled. There are two sensible routes and they are not equivalent.

1.6 kg of oil · two routes, two real oils
Route A buys round kilograms and overshoots · Route B buys the exact quantity
Oil Route A · 2 × 1 kg Route B · 1 kg + 500 g + 100 g Cheaper for 1.6 kg
Sandalwood
flat at ₹5.0268/g from 100 g up
2.0 kg for ₹10,053.60
400 g over, worth ₹2,010.72
1.6 kg for ₹8,042.88
nothing over
Route B, by ₹2,010.72
British Rose
₹3.068/g at 1 kg, ₹3.186/g at 500 g, ₹3.422/g at 100 g
2.0 kg for ₹6,136.00
400 g over
1.6 kg for ₹5,003.20
nothing over
Route B, by ₹1,132.80 — but read on

On Sandalwood the decision is trivial: ₹502.68, ₹2,513.40 and ₹5,026.80 are all ₹5.0268/g, so exactly 1.6 kg costs ₹8,042.88 — 1.6 × ₹5,026.80 to the paisa — and there is no reason to buy 2 kg.

British Rose is the more interesting case, and it argues against the obvious answer. Its tiers are not flat — ₹3.068/g at 1 kg, ₹3.186/g at 500 g, ₹3.422/g at 100 g — so Route B pays a premium on its two smaller packs. Read Route A from the other end: two kilograms is ₹6,136.00, which is ₹1,132.80 more than Route B for 400 g more oil, an effective ₹2.832 per gram — below any published British Rose rate at any size. Use that 400 g and Route A wins despite the bigger invoice; otherwise Route B does. Either way the published ladder is the whole story: CSI publishes no MOQ, no slab, no rate card and no credit term. Ask for a WhatsApp quote at volume by all means — just do not budget for a discount nobody has promised.

If the hundred candles are not all one scent the 1.6 kg simply splits — four scents at 25 units each need 400 g of each oil, one 500 g pack per scent, and at 500 g most CSI oils sit within a few paise of their kilogram rate (Citrus Lemon, ₹2.84/g against ₹2.83/g). More in how much fragrance oil a candle business needs and buying fragrance oils in bulk.

The catalogue has no 25 kg wax pack and no fragrance pack above a kilogram. Any calculation that produces one has produced a fiction.

Buffer, samples and the units nobody counts

18.4 kg is what ends up in the jars. It is not what you buy.

Two things sit between the calculation and the purchase order. The first is transfer loss — wax and oil clinging to the melter, the pitcher and the mixing vessel. The second is units that are not part of the order: approval samples, retained samples, and replacements. Neither is optional.

CSI publishes no wastage percentage, and this page invents none
Blogs quote "add 5% for wastage" as though it were a specification. It is not. Transfer loss depends on your melter, your pitcher, your pour temperature and how patiently you scrape, and it differs between wax and oil. It is a property of your bench, not of the wax. Measure it once and the number lasts years.
1
Weigh the empty vesselsPut your Steel Pouring Pitcher (600 ml, ₹708.00) on the scale clean, dry and at room temperature, and record it. Same for the melter insert.
2
Weigh in a known chargeMelt and weigh a deliberate quantity — say 2,000 g of wax and 160 g of oil for a ten-candle test batch at 8%. Write down both numbers, not a total.
3
Pour the batch, then weigh what is left behindPour as you normally would and stop where you normally stop. Re-weigh the pitcher and melter while the residue is still liquid; the increase over the empty weight is your loss in grams.
4
Turn it into two percentages, not oneDivide the residue by the charge, separately for wax and oil where you can. A flat percentage across every line is the wrong model — which is why the next section prices glass, wicks and stickers on their own logic.

Here is a worked illustration. The percentages below are made up for this example — not CSI figures, not recommendations. Your measurement replaces them.

Illustration only · a hypothetical measured loss of 4% on wax and 6% on oil
What a buffer does to the purchase, on CSI 464 and Sandalwood
Line In the jars With the illustrative buffer Nearest real packs Cost of the buffer
Wax · CSI 464 18.400 kg · ₹9,393.20 (18.5 kg bought) 19.136 kg 10 + 5 + 4 × 1 + 0.5 = 19.5 kg · ₹9,900.60 +₹507.40 — one kilogram
Oil · Sandalwood 1.600 kg · ₹8,042.88 1.696 kg 1 kg + 500 g + 2 × 100 g = 1.7 kg · ₹8,545.56 +₹502.68 — one 100 g bottle
Total ₹17,436.08 — ₹18,446.16 +₹1,010.08

Notice how coarse the granularity is. A 4% buffer on wax is 736 g against a smallest pack of 500 g, so you carry 364 g of spare flakes — ₹184.69 the next batch will use. Pack granularity, not your buffer percentage, decides the final invoice.

The units that are not in the order

A client orders 100 candles. You do not pour 100. Three categories of unit sit outside the order and all three are real:

A 100-candle order is not a 100-candle purchase
Worked at the quantities a small production run typically carries
Category Worked example Why it is not optional
Approval samples 4 units — two to the client, two held at the bench The client signs off on a candle, not a description. The two you keep are what you compare their complaint against
Retained samples 2 units per batch, labelled with the batch and pour date, not opened Mandatory if you ever want to investigate a complaint. Without a retained sample, "the candle was fine when it left" is an opinion
Replacement stock 5 units — glass cracks, tops sink, one gets knocked over Cheaper to pour with the batch than to set up a second pour for three candles a fortnight later
Total to pour 111 units for a 100-unit order 11% more material, and the same 11% more jars, wicks and stickers

Those quantities are a worked example, not a rule; the structure is what holds. Decide the extra units before you calculate. At 111 units of 200 g the poured mass is 22.2 kg, the oil at 8% of finished weight 1.776 kg and the wax 20.424 kg; apply the same illustrative 4% and 6% and you need 21.241 kg of wax and 1.883 kg of oil — what the purchase list below is built on. See also scaling to 1,000 orders a month.

On lead time, CSI publishes no number and this page will not give you one. No dispatch window, no delivery estimate and no cut-off date appears on the store. Before you commit a date to a client, message WhatsApp on +91 7397976926, confirm stock and current lead time for the exact variants, then add your own pour and cure time. Working towards Diwali on 8 November 2026, have that conversation at the start — how early to order for Diwali covers the sequencing.

The rest of the bill — and where CSI stops

The whole purchase, built for 111 units with the illustrative buffer applied to wax and oil only. Jars, wicks and stickers are counted rather than buffered, because glass either arrives whole or it does not.

The comparison that matters: the same six lines calculated naïvely for exactly 100 candles with no buffer and no spare units — 18.5 kg of wax (₹9,393.20), 1.6 kg of oil (₹8,042.88), 100 jars (₹2,950.00), 100 wicks (₹590.00), 120 wick stickers (₹300.00) and one care roll (₹413.00) — comes to ₹21,689.08, or ₹216.89 per candle. The honest number is ₹254.39. That is ₹37.50 per candle, 17.3% more, and it is the single most common reason a candle maker's quoted margin evaporates between the spreadsheet and the bank account. Price from the honest number. How to price candles in India works forward from here.

Why three of those lines are not buffered by percentage

Jars break, and they are the expensive line, so spares are bought deliberately. The 200ml Salsa Glass Jar is ₹29.50 each in the 50 and 100 Pcs packs but ₹40.12 in the 5 Pcs pack, so those fifteen spares carry a 36% premium — ₹601.80 against ₹442.50 at the bulk rate. The alternative is 100 Pcs + 50 Pcs = 150 jars for ₹4,425.00, ₹873.20 more but all at ₹29.50: better on a run you intend to repeat, 35 jars in storage on a one-off.

Wicks are so cheap that spares are free in all but name. Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) are ₹5.90 per wick at every pack size from 10 to 1,000 — ₹59.00 for 10, ₹590.00 for 100, ₹5,900.00 for 1,000 — and Thick (C2) is flat at ₹9.44 from the 20-wick pack up. No volume discount to chase, therefore no reason to be mean: 200 wicks for ₹1,180.00 rather than 120 for ₹708.00 buys eighty spares. Buy the spares. One caveat: CSI publishes no wick-diameter chart and no jar-to-wick sizing table, so which of C1 and C2 suits a 63 mm jar is a question your burn test answers, not this page — the wick guide by diameter sets out the method.

Stickers round to the roll, not to the unit. The Candle Care Stickers Roll is 500 at 1 inch for ₹413.00 (₹0.83 each) or 1,000 at 1.5 inch for ₹699.00 (₹0.70 each). The bigger roll is ₹0.13 cheaper per sticker, but you need 111 — so the ₹413.00 roll is the honest purchase and the extra ₹286.00 buys 889 stickers you cannot use. For wick stickers the 40-sticker sheet at ₹100.00 is the in-stock variant; for wider tabs the Large Candle Wick Stickers are ₹249.00 for 40.

Now the part most "complete bill of materials" articles quietly skip: CSI does not sell these lines at all, so the figures must come from elsewhere before you quote a client. There are no standalone lids, no retail or gift boxes, no shipping cartons, no printed labels, no box inserts, no cushioning material and no packing tape anywhere in the catalogue, so no price for any of them appears here — inventing one would be worse than useless. Get them from your own printer and packaging supplier, in writing, before the quote goes out. One clarification that saves money: some jars include a lid as part of the jar product — the 200 ml Salsa jar ships with its golden lug cap, the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid with its lid — so read the title and never budget for a lid twice. The complete raw-material list and can you buy everything from one supplier cover the gap.

Tools sit outside the table deliberately, being bought once rather than per batch: a weighing scale and a pen thermometer at ₹354.00 each and a 600 ml Steel Pouring Pitcher at ₹708.00 as a minimum, while a Mini Electric Wax Melter at ₹2,360.00 or the 20 litre Electric Wax Melter at ₹23,600.00 changes how many pours 21.5 kg takes. What it actually costs to start handles the capital side.

Substituting the wax changes the total, not the arithmetic
Run the same 111-unit purchase on Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 at ₹637.00/kg from 5 kg or Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00/kg and the wax line moves. The method does not: finished weight, split at your stated load with the denominator written down, plus measured transfer loss and sample units, rounded up into packs that exist. Do not substitute a wax mid-order without re-testing — verifying wax before you buy in bulk is cheaper than discovering it at unit sixty.
Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and this page tells you three things that reduce what you buy from us: the 10 kg bag of CSI 464 saves nothing per kilogram; the 10 kg bag of Luxury Soy Chunks is ninety paise a kilogram dearer than the 1 kg pack; and 1.6 kg of oil beats two kilograms, because the extra 400 g is ₹2,010.72 of Sandalwood in a cupboard. We would rather you calculated correctly and came back.

Every price and pack size here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, which always takes precedence; out-of-stock variants are excluded. Three things are deliberately absent because CSI publishes none of them: a wastage or production-loss percentage (the 4% and 6% above are labelled illustrations), a lead time or dispatch window, and any MOQ, price slab, rate card or credit term. The 10% and 13% ceilings quoted are the wax manufacturers' stated maximum loads — formulation limits, not regulatory limits — and thirteen of the sixteen CSI waxes publish no ceiling at all.

Frequently asked questions

How much wax and fragrance oil do I need for 100 candles of 200 g at 8%?
1.6 kg of fragrance oil and 18.4 kg of wax, at 8% of finished weight. The working: 100 × 200 g = 20,000 g finished; 8% of that = 1,600 g of oil; 20,000 − 1,600 = 18,400 g of wax. Per candle, 16 g in 184 g. Buy more than that, though — add your measured transfer loss plus the sample and replacement units you pour but do not sell.
Is 8% a percentage of the wax or of the finished candle?
Both are in use and they give different answers, so decide and record which you mean. 8% of finished weight is 16 g of oil in 184 g of wax; 8% of wax weight is 14.8 g in 185.2 g, because wax = 200 ÷ 1.08. Across 5,000 candles that is 80 kg against 74.07 kg. They collide in CSI's own copy: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks states 13% "of total wax weight" while CSI 464 states "Fragrance Load Up to 10%" naming no denominator. This page uses finished weight.
Should I buy the 25 kg bag instead of several smaller ones?
There is no 25 kg wax pack on this store. The ladder is 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg, with one exception — Natural Soy Pearl Wax also has a 50 kg variant at ₹21,240.00. And on most CSI waxes buying bigger does not lower the rate: CSI 464 is flat at ₹507.40/kg from 1 kg up, and the 10 kg bag of Luxury Soy Chunks is ₹599.90/kg against ₹599.00/kg at 1 kg. The one genuine break is Natural Soy Pearl, ₹450.00/kg falling to ₹424.80/kg from 5 kg.
Can I buy 1.6 kg of fragrance oil in one bottle?
No. The fragrance ladder stops at 1 kg — 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg, with no 2 kg, 5 kg or 10 kg pack anywhere. So 1.6 kg is assembled as 1 kg + 500 g + 100 g: on Sandalwood, ₹5,026.80 + ₹2,513.40 + ₹502.68 = ₹8,042.88, against ₹10,053.60 for two kilograms with 400 g over. Not every oil stocks all five sizes. Above a kilogram, ask for a WhatsApp quote by all means — but CSI publishes no slab or rate card, so do not budget for a discount that has not been offered.
How much extra should I add for wastage?
CSI publishes no wastage or production-loss figure, and you should not use anybody else's. Measure your own: weigh your pitcher and melter empty, weigh in a known charge, pour a batch as you normally would, then re-weigh while the residue is still liquid. Divide the difference by the charge, separately for wax and oil. The 4% and 6% in the worked example are illustrations of the mechanism, not specifications.
Will a 200 ml jar hold a 200 g candle?
Not necessarily, and you must not assume it. 200 ml is a volume, not a 200 g fill weight, and soy wax is less dense than water. Most CSI jar families publish no fill capacity and no jar publishes a 200 g one, so pour one jar, weigh what went in, and calculate from that. At 180 g your run needs 18 kg rather than 20 kg. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid is one of the few stating a weight, at 150 g. Confirm stock and current lead time on WhatsApp before you build a schedule around any of it — CSI publishes no lead time and this page quotes none.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. The arithmetic, the denominator conversion and the buffer method apply to any supplier; the pack sizes and prices are CSI's own.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages — in order, on Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, Soy Pillar Wax, Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) Fragrance Oil, Eco Candle Wicks and Sandalwood Fragrance Oil. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me, and all six are recorded as verified buyers. One longer review is shortened with an ellipsis and is otherwise unedited. Judge.me stores no customer location, so no city is shown. None of these reviews describes a bulk purchase calculation; they speak to product quality and service only.

Arithmetic restated: 100 × 200 g = 20,000 g finished; 8% of finished weight = 1,600 g oil and 18,400 g wax; per candle 16 g and 184 g. Under the wax-weight convention, wax = 200 ÷ 1.08 = 185.185 g and oil = 14.815 g, giving 1,481 g across 100 candles and 74.07 kg across 5,000 against 80.00 kg. 10% of finished weight = 11.1% of wax weight; 13% of wax weight = 11.5% of finished weight. 1 kg of oil at 16 g per candle covers 62 candles. Shelf life: only CSI 464 and CSI 468 publish one, both "60 months (cool, dry storage)"; the other fourteen waxes publish none.

What is not a CSI figure: the 4% and 6% transfer-loss percentages are illustrations used to show the mechanism — CSI publishes no wastage or production-loss percentage. The 4 approval samples, 2 retained samples and 5 replacement units are a worked example of a production policy, not a CSI specification. CSI publishes no lead time, dispatch window, MOQ, price slab, rate card or credit term, and none is stated on this page. CSI publishes no wick-diameter or jar-to-wick sizing chart. CSI sells no standalone lids, retail or gift boxes, shipping cartons, printed labels, box inserts, cushioning material or packing tape, and no price for any of those appears here. Fragrance load ceilings — 13% of total wax weight for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, up to 13% for Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 — are the wax manufacturers' stated formulation limits, not regulatory limits; the other thirteen CSI waxes publish no ceiling. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
