Ten kilograms is ₹52,210.00 of oil and 625 candles at 8%. Ask the right questions first, in writing, and check how long that oil will sit in your store room.
₹52,210.00
10 × 1 kg Lavender packs at the listed ₹5,221.00 each
Quick answers — read this first
Does CSI publish a shelf life for Lavender oil? No. The Lavender product page publishes no shelf life, best-before or storage temperature. Ask on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926) for guidance on the specific lot and get the answer in writing.

What does 10 kg of Lavender cost? No pack above 1 kg is listed, so 10 kg is ten 1 kg packs: 10 × ₹5,221.00 = ₹52,210.00. Any larger-quantity price is a WhatsApp quote, not a published discount.

How many candles does 10 kg make? At 8% of a 200 g candle you use 16 g of oil, so 10,000 g ÷ 16 g = 625 candles.

How long will 10 kg last me? Divide by your monthly use. At 400 candles a month it is about 1.56 months of cover; at 150 candles a month it is about 4.17 months.
The short answer
Ask for: IFRA certificate, MSDS, lot number, and written storage and shelf-life guidance for that lot.
Calculate: Months of cover = 10 kg ÷ your monthly oil use. Longer cover means longer storage risk.
Decide: Buy no more than you can use while your own tests still rate the oil acceptable.

The same 10 kg order is under two months of stock for one maker and almost eight months for another — the storage question scales with your volume.
Straight answer
I Want to Buy 10 Kg of Lavender Fragrance Oil for Candle Production — What Shelf-Life and Storage Information Should I Request Before Ordering?
Before you order 10 kg of Lavender, ask CSI on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926) for the IFRA certificate, the MSDS, the lot or batch number, and any storage and shelf-life guidance for that oil and lot — and get it in writing. The Lavender page publishes no shelf life and no storage temperature, and the 60-month figure on CSI 464 and CSI 468 is a wax statement only. Ten 1 kg packs cost 10 × ₹5,221.00 = ₹52,210.00 and make 625 candles at 16 g each. Then work out your months of cover: if 10 kg would sit for longer than you have tested Lavender in your own candles, order less.
One line: get the documents and storage guidance in writing, then size the order to the months you have actually tested.
Lavender fragrance oil — 1 kg ₹5,221.00, the cheapest per-gram pack on the listing; IFRA and MSDS on WhatsApp request.

Why 10 kg is a storage decision as much as a price decision

Ten kilograms is not a big order until it sits on your shelf longer than you have ever tested it.

Lavender is a sensible oil to buy in quantity. The product page describes a single-note lavender with a fresh lavender top, a herbal green middle and a soft musk base, rates it "Strong" (the page's own rating, not a measured figure) and gives a candle load of 6–10%. One verified buyer, Priyanka Purohit, wrote: "Quality of fragrance is very good. Cold through and hot though both are perfect." None of that tells you how the oil behaves in your store room in month four.

The fresh top of a lavender is generally the part most likely to recede first during storage, because lighter, more volatile materials evaporate and oxidise more readily than heavier musky ones. That is a general principle, not CSI data. It means a 10 kg order carries a risk that grows with the time it spends opened and part-used in a warm room.

So treat the order as two questions. What does the supplier say, in writing, about storing this oil? And how many months will your 10 kg actually take to use?

The information to request before you pay

CSI states on its product pages that the oils are IFRA certified and that IFRA and MSDS documents are available on WhatsApp request at +91 7397976926. The pages do not publish a shelf life, a best-before period, a storage temperature or any ageing data for any oil. Ask for the following before ordering, and keep the replies with your batch records.

Pre-order request list
What to ask for on a 10 kg Lavender order Item to request | Why you need it | What a useful answer looks like IFRA certificate for Lavender | Confirms the use category and maximum level that applies to candles | A dated document naming the product MSDS (safety data sheet) | Handling, storage and fire-safety information, including flashpoint if stated | Current revision with a date you can file Lot or batch number | Lets you tie every candle back to the oil it was made from | One number per pack, or confirmation that all ten packs share a lot Storage guidance for this oil | The page publishes none; you need the supplier's own advice | Written conditions in plain words, not a phone remark Shelf-life or retest guidance | Tells you when to re-check the oil before use | A written statement for this oil and lot, or a clear "not stated" Container description | The page does not say how oils are packed | What the 1 kg pack is made of and how it is sealed Same-lot availability | Ten packs from two lots means two qualifications | A yes or no before dispatch
Item to request Why you need it What a useful answer looks like
IFRA certificate for Lavender Confirms the use category and maximum level that applies to candles A dated document naming the product
MSDS (safety data sheet) Handling, storage and fire-safety information, including flashpoint if stated Current revision with a date you can file
Lot or batch number Lets you tie every candle back to the oil it was made from One number per pack, or confirmation that all ten packs share a lot
Storage guidance for this oil The page publishes none; you need the supplier's own advice Written conditions in plain words, not a phone remark
Shelf-life or retest guidance Tells you when to re-check the oil before use A written statement for this oil and lot, or a clear "not stated"
Container description The page does not say how oils are packed What the 1 kg pack is made of and how it is sealed
Same-lot availability Ten packs from two lots means two qualifications A yes or no before dispatch

If any answer is "not available", write that down too. A blank is information: it tells you the shelf life you set will have to come entirely from your own testing.

Get it in writing
A WhatsApp message that you can screenshot and file is enough. A spoken reassurance is not. Our oil pages publish no shelf life — ask us, and keep the answer.

Work out your months of cover

The figure that decides whether 10 kg is sensible is not the price. It is how long the oil will sit before the last gram goes into a candle.

At 8% of total candle weight, a 200 g candle is 184 g wax plus 16 g oil. So oil per month = candles per month × 16 g.

Three makers, one order

Maker A pours 400 candles a month: 400 × 16 g = 6,400 g, so 6.4 kg a month. 10 kg ÷ 6.4 kg = 1.56 months of cover.

Maker B pours 150 candles a month: 150 × 16 g = 2,400 g, so 2.4 kg a month. 10 kg ÷ 2.4 kg = 4.17 months.

Maker C pours 80 candles a month: 80 × 16 g = 1,280 g, so 1.28 kg a month. 10 kg ÷ 1.28 kg = 7.81 months.

Maker A will finish the order before most storage questions arise. Maker C will be pouring from an opened pack more than seven months after delivery. If Maker C has never tested Lavender candles made from oil that old, 10 kg is a guess, not a plan.

Common mistake. Ordering 10 kg because the per-gram price is lowest, then discovering in month six that the last packs smell flatter than the first. Fix: order the quantity your own tests support, and reorder more often.

What the 10 kg actually costs — and what bulk does not buy you

No Lavender pack above 1 kg is listed. Ten kilograms is ten 1 kg packs at the listed price: 10 × ₹5,221.00 = ₹52,210.00. If you want a quote for a larger quantity, ask on WhatsApp; do not assume a discount exists.

The per-gram maths is simple. 1 kg at ₹5,221.00 is ₹5.221 per g. The 100 g pack at ₹540.00 is ₹5.40 per g. The 500 g pack at ₹2,620.00 is ₹5.24 per g. Oil cost per candle at 16 g is 16 × ₹5.221 = ₹83.54.

Now look at the 500 g option. Twenty 500 g packs cost 20 × ₹2,620.00 = ₹52,400.00. The difference is ₹52,400.00 − ₹52,210.00 = ₹190.00 across the whole 10 kg. For a slow user, that ₹190.00 buys twenty smaller sealed packs, each opened only when needed, instead of ten larger ones that spend longer part-full. Less time opened generally means less exposure to air. Whether it matters for your Lavender is something your own storage test answers, but the cost of keeping the option open is small.

Store it so the first and last kilogram match

General good practice for fragrance oils, whatever the supplier says about a specific lot:

1
Inspect on arrivalNote the lot number, appearance and smell of each pack against a small retained reference, and check caps for leaks or staining.
2
Keep packs sealed and uprightStore in a cool, dark place, away from windows, a metal roof, a stove area or any heat source.
3
Measure the shelf, not the roomPut a min/max thermometer on the actual shelf for two weeks. Top shelves and store rooms under a roof can run far warmer than the floor.
4
Decant part-used packsWhen a pack is half used, move it into a smaller, clean, well-sealed suitable container — amber glass is a common choice — and label it with oil name, lot and dates.
5
Retain a referenceKeep a small sealed sample from the lot, stored cool and dark, so later batches and complaints can be compared.
6
Retest before late useBefore pouring from a pack opened months ago, make one test candle and compare it with a candle from your retained reference.

If an oil looks cloudy after cool storage, warm the closed bottle in warm water, mix it thoroughly and check again. If it separates, forms sediment or smells sour or sharp, quarantine it and ask the supplier. Never warm oil over a flame, in a kitchen oven or in a microwave.

The ordering decision

Write down three numbers: your monthly oil use, the number of months you have tested Lavender candles in your own storage, and any shelf-life guidance the supplier has given in writing. Your order should cover no more than the shortest of those time spans multiplied by your monthly use, minus the stock you already hold.

If you have tested to month three and use 2.4 kg a month, that is 3 × 2.4 kg = 7.2 kg, so seven or eight packs, not ten. If you use 6.4 kg a month, 10 kg is comfortably inside your tested window. Do not buy 10 kg of an oil you will take seven months to use until you have tested it at month seven — and never promise customers that a candle will smell exactly the same months after you made it.

Argue against interest
Order the months you have tested, not the kilos that are cheapest.
A low per-gram price only saves money if the last gram still makes a sellable candle. If your volume is low, smaller and more frequent orders are usually the safer buy.
Ten kilograms is two months for one maker and eight for another — the order is the same, the risk is not.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials and production equipment, not finished candles. This guide separates general fragrance-ageing practice from what CSI's own product pages state, says plainly that CSI's oil pages publish no shelf life, storage temperature or ageing data, treats the 60-month shelf life on the CSI 464 and 468 pages as a wax statement only, and labels every test day, cabinet temperature, candle count, reject rate or lead time as a starting point or the reader's own figure.

Prices are live CSI prices from October 2026; product pages are authoritative. No fragrance-oil pack above 1 kg is listed, so larger quantities are shown as multiples of the 1 kg price; ask for a quote rather than assuming a discount.

Frequently asked questions

What shelf life does CSI give for Lavender fragrance oil?
None is published on the product page — no shelf life, best-before date or storage temperature. Ask on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926) for any guidance on that oil and lot, ask for it in writing, and set your own usable period from real-time testing in your storage conditions.
Is there a bulk discount on 10 kg of Lavender oil?
No pack above 1 kg is listed and no discount is published. Ten kilograms is ten 1 kg packs at ₹5,221.00 each, which is ₹52,210.00. For a larger quantity you can ask for a quote on WhatsApp, but do not plan around a discount you have not been given in writing.
Can I use the 60-month shelf life on CSI 464 for my Lavender candles?
No. The 60-month figure on the CSI 464 and CSI 468 pages is a statement about the wax in cool, dry storage. It says nothing about how Lavender behaves inside a finished candle, which has to be tested separately in your own jars and conditions.
Should I buy 500 g packs instead of 1 kg packs for a large Lavender order?
If you use oil slowly, consider it. Twenty 500 g packs cost ₹52,400.00 against ₹52,210.00 for ten 1 kg packs — ₹190.00 more — and each pack is opened only when needed. Whether that improves your results is something to confirm with your own storage test.
What documents should I ask for before buying fragrance oil in bulk?
Ask for the IFRA certificate, the MSDS, the lot number of every pack, written storage and shelf-life guidance for that oil and lot, and a description of the container. File them with your batch records so you can trace any later complaint back to the oil.
How do I know if stored Lavender oil is still fine to use?
Compare it with a retained reference sample by smell and appearance, then make a test candle and check cold throw, hot throw and wax colour against a candle from the reference. Separation, sediment or a sour, sharp note means quarantine the pack and contact the supplier.
