Indian Heat & Shipping · Long Hot Routes
A summer route into Rajasthan is several warm days and nights, and a box that will not always travel upright. Approve a wax on your logged cycles, with a control twin, a cycled arm, a cycled-on-its-side arm and a burn after the journey.
₹5,383.46
materials for a 16-candle cycle approval of two CSI soy waxes · CSI live pricing, re-checked 1 October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What heat test before shipping to Rajasthan? A multi-day cycle test from your own logger traces — warm days, cooler nights, the number of days your parcels take — not one hot peak.

Why test the box on its side? A softened candle can tilt its surface and lean its wick when laid over, then set that way. The side arm catches it.

Is looking fine after the cycles enough? No. Burn one cycled candle beside its control; a shifted wick shows in the burn, not the photo. See the sheet.

What does it cost? ₹5,383.46 in CSI materials for 16 candles across CSI 468 and Soy Pearl. See the kit.
The short answer
Answer: Approve on your logged day–night cycles with three arms — control, cycled upright, cycled on its side — then a post-cycle burn and a 14-day shelf check, all against control twins.
Why: Long summer routes apply repeated soften–set cycles and rough handling; CSI publishes no heat data for any wax, so only your profile can approve one.
Method: 8 candles per wax (2 unscented, 6 at 8%); cycles from the worst of 2–3 logger traces; score after 24 h; burn and shelf.
A long hot route is not one peak. It is several days of peaks and nights. Illustrative shape only — no temperatures are given · replace it with your own logger trace · CSI 468 vs Soy Pearl · Woody Oud 8% warmer cooler your workshop ___°C (dashed) peak ___°C day 1 · hub night ___ peak ___°C day 2 · van night ___ peak ___°C day 3 · doorstep night ___ time → (one cycle = one warm day + one cooler night; count the cycles on your log) C · CONTROL workshop, packed 1 unscented + 2 at 8% CU · CYCLED UPRIGHT your logged cycles 1 unscented + 2 at 8% CS · CYCLED ON ITS SIDE same cycles, box tipped 2 at 8%
A long summer route is a series of warm days and cooler nights, each one softening and partly re-setting the candle. The curve is an illustrative shape, not data: replace it with your logger trace and count its cycles. Three arms test the profile — a control kept home, the same candles cycled upright, and a set cycled with the box on its side.
Straight answer
I want to ship soy candles to Rajasthan during summer — what heat-stability testing should I do before approving a wax?
A multi-day cycle test built from your own logger traces, with a box-on-its-side arm and a burn afterwards. Send two or three logged parcels on the route and take the worst trace: days in transit, daytime peak inside the parcel, hours warm, night low, number of cycles. Then pour each candidate wax — the example uses CSI 468 and Natural Soy Pearl with Woody Oud at 8% — into three arms: a control kept packed in the workshop, a cycled upright arm run through your logged day–night cycles, and a cycled on its side arm, because softened candles can tilt and lean their wicks in a tipped box. After 24 hours' recovery, score surface, wall wax, wick lean, blot and glass contact against the control; burn one cycled candle from each arm beside a control twin; and shelve one for 14 days in a non-AC room. Approve only a wax that passes all of it. The 16-candle kit costs ₹5,383.46. CSI publishes no heat data for any wax — your profile is the specification.
One line: approve on the route's real rhythm — warm days, cool nights, a tipped box — and on a burn after the journey.
The Rajasthan approval test on this page — Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 and Natural Soy Pearl Wax, each in a workshop control, a multi-day cycled arm and a cycled-on-its-side arm, with Woody Oud at 8% — is 16 candles and ₹5,383.46 in CSI materials. It approves a wax for long, hot summer routes on the evidence of your own logged cycles.

Test the cycles, not just the peak — and test the box on its side

One hot afternoon tells you about one afternoon. A summer route to Rajasthan can be three of them, with nights in between.

A heat test that holds candles at one high temperature for a few hours is a reasonable first screen. For a long summer route into Rajasthan it is not enough to approve a wax, for two reasons. The first is time: a parcel can spend several days on the road and in hubs, and general climate knowledge tells you that north-west India's May–June heat combines hot days with nights that are cooler but not cool. Each day the candle warms and softens a little; each night it partly sets again. That repeated cycle is a different stress from one peak, and it is the stress the route actually applies. The second is handling: a candle that has softened in the afternoon is more vulnerable to whatever the parcel does next, including being laid on its side.

So the approval test on this page has three arms. A control arm stays packed in the workshop. A cycled upright arm repeats your logged day–night profile for the number of cycles your logs show. A cycled on its side arm runs the same cycles with the box tipped over, because a candle that only stays perfect when it travels upright has not been approved for a courier network. Each wax is tested unscented and at 8% in the arms where it matters, and every exposed candle is judged and then burned against its control twin.

The waxes here are Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 and Natural Soy Pearl Wax. CSI's product page for CSI 468 states a melting point of 50–53°C; Soy Pearl publishes no melting point, temperatures, ceiling or shelf life. Neither page — and nothing CSI publishes — says how either behaves over days of summer cycling. That is precisely what this test is for. Your logger's numbers set the cycles; no number on this page claims any wax survives any temperature.

The CSI principle
Approve a wax for the route as the route behaves: several warm days, several nights, and a box that does not always stay upright.
A single-peak test is a screen. Approval needs the cycles your logger recorded and the handling your parcel will get.

Turning your logger trace into a test profile

Send two or three logged parcels on the route in the season you care about — production packing, a min/max thermometer or small data logger inside (not CSI items; buy locally). From each trace, write down the numbers in the sheet below. The profile you test is the worst of the traces, not the average. If you cannot log in summer because summer has passed, log now, label the result as an off-season profile, and plan a confirmation run next April or May.

From your logger traces · route into Rajasthan (your route) · numbers are yours

Reproducing a multi-day cycle at home needs a way to hold a warm temperature for the day phase and let it fall for the night phase. A closed car parked in sun with a logger inside reproduces the shape roughly but not the number; a thermostatically controlled box such as an incubator or proofing cabinet reproduces it better. Simulating hot courier conditions compares the options. Do not use a kitchen oven or a heater aimed at candles; both are uneven and a fire risk with fragrance oil. Until your traces arrive, an example day phase of a closed chamber at about 40–45°C for 6 hours, repeated over three days with the box cooling to room temperature overnight, is a labelled provisional profile — replace it with your log.

Compressing three days into one long hot soak. It is tempting to hold candles hot for eighteen hours instead of running three six-hour days. That is a different test: the candle never re-sets overnight, and the repeated soften–set cycle that can shift a wick, open a gap at the glass or bring oil to the surface never happens. Fix: keep the cycles. If time is short, run the provisional profile now and the logged profile in parallel, and approve only on the logged one.

The approval design: control, cycled upright, cycled on its side

Sixteen candles, three arms, one rule: every exposed candle has a twin that stayed home.
Per wax · 200 g White Matte jar · Woody Oud 8% (16 g oil + 184 g wax) · labelled working practice
Approval tests, conditions and pass rules

Post-cycle burn One CU and one CS 8% candle burned beside a C twin (from above) Safety: no taller flame, more soot or hotter jar than C
Post-cycle shelf Remaining CU 8% candle 14 days in a non-AC room (example) (from above) No late sweating or frosting beyond your standard
Total 8 per wax · 16 for two
1
Pour and cure togetherBoth waxes, one Woody Oud lot, 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax per scented candle. CSI 468's page states a pour temperature of 58–60°C; Soy Pearl's page publishes no temperatures — ask CSI on WhatsApp and record what you used. Same cure checkpoint for both.
2
Baseline every candleWeight to 0.1 g, photographs top, side and through the base, a fixed-weight dent at a fixed spot, wick lean in mm, and a blot with one square of tissue.
3
Pack all arms identicallyLid, inner wrap, box, filler, outer carton. Mark the CS boxes so they are laid on their sides for the whole run.
4
Run the cyclesDay phase warm, night phase cooling, for the number of cycles in your profile. Log what the arm actually received — the test record is part of the approval.
5
Unpack after 24 hours at room temperatureScore every candle against its control twin. Look for wax on the jar wall or lid in the CS arm — a sign the surface moved while soft.
6
Burn and shelveBurn one CU and one CS 8% candle beside a control, 3–4 hour cycles with full cool-down (a commonly used cycle — label it). Put the last CU candle on a non-AC shelf for 14 days (example) and blot it again.
Why the side arm matters
A candle that has softened can let its surface creep towards the low side of the jar and its wick lean the same way. When it sets again, the candle looks fine from above but burns unevenly. The CS arm catches that before your customer does. If CS fails and CU passes, your fix may be packaging that keeps parcels upright or holds the candle firmly — see heat-testing in retail packaging — rather than a different wax.

The approval scoring sheet

Score after the 24-hour recovery, then add the burn and the 14-day shelf. CSI publishes no numeric flame-height or jar-temperature limit; the burn rule is no worse than the control on every safety line, within your jar supplier's guidance and the candle fire-safety standard you work to (ASTM F2417 is a commonly cited US standard).

Approving on looks after cycling, without the burn. A candle can come out of three cycles looking smooth while its wick has shifted a few millimetres. The first burn runs hot on one side, and nobody connects it to the summer journey. Fix: approval needs the post-cycle burn. A wax that looks perfect and burns worse than its control has not passed.

The priced approval kit

CSI's load convention: oil = 200 g × load. Each wax needs 1,504 g for 8 candles, 1,579.2 g with a 5% pour-loss allowance (a working assumption). The twelve 8% candles need 192 g of Woody Oud, 201.6 g with the allowance.

Both waxes come out at 2 × 1 kg: CSI 468 needs just over 1.5 kg, so a 1 kg and a 500 g bag would fall short and 1 kg + 2 × 500 g costs the same ₹1,300.00 as 2 × 1 kg. Soy Pearl starts at 1 kg. The oil is cheapest as 2 × 100 g + 1 × 15 g (₹999.46).

What a damaged consignment costs, and what approval saves

At production packs (10 kg wax, 1 kg Woody Oud, ₹5.90 wick, ₹70.80 jar; labour, packaging, freight and GST excluded) a 200 g candle at 8% costs ₹266.41 in CSI 468 (₹117.21 of wax) and ₹227.36 in Soy Pearl (₹78.16 of wax). Woody Oud adds ₹72.50 in either.

Example: a 60-candle summer consignment to a Rajasthan stockist · damage share is an example you replace · material only
Consignment material value and an example loss

CSI 468 ₹15,984.43 ₹1,598.44 33.7%
Natural Soy Pearl ₹13,641.74 ₹1,364.17 39.5%

A single 60-candle consignment carries ₹15,984.43 of material in CSI 468 or ₹13,641.74 in Soy Pearl. If an example one in ten candles arrives damaged, the material alone is ₹1,598.44 or ₹1,364.17 — before return courier, the stockist's patience and any replacement run. The ₹5,383.46 kit is a one-off; the damage repeats every summer consignment until the formula is fixed.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. Soy Pearl is ₹39.04 cheaper per candle than CSI 468 here, and CSI 468 is the one with a published melting point. Neither fact tells you which survives your route, and we will not pretend otherwise. If both fail the CS arm, the answer is likely packaging and dispatch timing — which costs you nothing from us. If both pass, buy the cheaper one.

An approval holds for the route, the season, the oil, the load, the jar and the packing it was tested with. Change any of those and the relevant line needs a confirmation run. Testing above workshop temperature for many routes covers how a Rajasthan approval can stand in for milder routes, the hub covers the bulk order, and seasonal qualification puts the confirmation run on your calendar each spring.

Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. If you ship festive stock into Rajasthan in October, the approval above fits if you pour this week: cure, run three cycles, recover, burn and shelve. Send us your route, consignment size and load on WhatsApp and we will price the approval kit and the consignment materials together. Wax bags go up to 10 kg (Soy Pearl to 50 kg, limited stock); larger quantities by quote, no published discount.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A summer route into Rajasthan is where a supplier is most tempted to promise heat stability. We publish no heat-survival data for any of our waxes, and CSI 468's published melting point is a pour-planning fact. This page tells you how to approve a wax on your own evidence — including when the fix is packing, not wax.

Every wax price is CSI live pricing, re-checked 1 October 2026; Woody Oud prices are from the 24 September 2026 pull; wick, jar and tissue prices are as verified on 10 September and 24–25 September 2026. Candle splits, per-candle and consignment costs and pack rounding are arithmetic, shown to two decimals. Product-page statements are attributed to CSI's product pages.

The three arms, the illustrative cycle shape, the example provisional profile, candle counts, 24-hour recovery, 14-day shelf, the 60-candle consignment, the 10% damage share and the 5% pour loss are labelled working practices and examples. Route temperatures are yours to log. For a test kit, bulk quote, GST invoicing or MSDS, WhatsApp +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Can soy candles be shipped to Rajasthan in summer?
Only you can answer that for your candle, by testing it through your logged route cycles against a control. CSI publishes no heat data that says any wax survives a temperature.
How do I heat-cycle test candles?
Repeat a warm day phase and a cooler night phase for as many days as your logged parcels take, with candles packed as shipped. A thermostatically controlled box reproduces it better than a parked car; never use a kitchen oven.
Why do candles look fine but burn badly after a hot trip?
A softened candle can shift its wick or surface during transit and set that way. The burn shows it even when the top looks smooth, which is why approval includes a post-cycle burn.
Should candles be packed upright for shipping in summer?
It helps, but courier parcels are not always kept upright. Test a set on its side; if it fails and the upright set passes, improve the packing that holds the candle.
Does CSI 468 handle heat better because it has a published melting point?
Not necessarily. 50–53°C is the melting point CSI's product page states; it does not describe how a finished candle behaves over days of cycling. Test it against another wax.
How long should I shelf-test candles after a heat test?
Fourteen days in a non-AC room is the example used here. It catches late sweating or frosting that appears after the journey. The delivery post extends it.
