₹3.07/g
the cheapest fresh oil on CSI's shelf and the only one publishing all five specs · ₹49.09 of oil in a 200 g candle at 8% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which fresh fragrance oil should I buy first? Eucalyptus Spearmint. It is the cheapest oil on this shelf at ₹3.07/g and the only one whose page publishes the full set — a Fresh / Herbal / Spa family, soy up to 10% and paraffin up to 6%, a 199°C flash point, 0% vanillin, an IFRA certification claim and a 48–72 hour cure. That is ₹49.09 of oil in a 200 g candle at 8%.

What is the best aquatic oil for an ocean or beach candle? Blue Ocean at ₹4.96/g. The page publishes an Aquatic / Floral / Fresh family with sea salt and ozone on top, jasmine and lily of the valley in the heart and driftwood and musk in the base, up to 10% in soy and in paraffin, up to 12% in wax melts, a 143°C flash point and 0% vanillin. At the 10% ceiling that is ₹99.12 of oil a candle.

Why do my fresh candles smell weaker than my sweet ones? Partly because they are meant to. Fresh compositions are built from light, airy materials that read as clean air rather than as a sweet smell, so a room that genuinely smells of them is described as fresh, not strong. The fix is the load and the room, not a different oil: use the top of the published range, cure to day 14, and test in the size of room the candle is for.

Are the perfume-grade aquatic oils worth it in candles? Rarely, as a default. Hawas inspired is ₹16.53/g — ₹264.45 of oil in a single 200 g candle at 8% — and its page describes a concentrated fine perfume oil for extrait and EDP formulations at 15–25% on skin, with candles as a secondary use at 7–10%. Hawas Ice inspired at ₹9.08/g is the more sensible premium option at ₹127.12 a candle at 7%.
The short answer
Start with the one that publishes everything: Eucalyptus Spearmint at ₹3.07/g — family, soy load up to 10%, 199°C flash point, 0% vanillin, IFRA claim, cure window, wick guidance and a published 60:40 spa blend with lavender. ₹49.09 of oil a candle at 8%, and a 15 gm trial bottle is ₹68.44.
Add one aquatic with a base you can read: Blue Ocean at ₹4.96/g states driftwood and musk under the sea salt and ozone — the part that keeps a clean scent going past the first hour. ₹99.12 of oil at the 10% ceiling, and two verified CSI reviews on this page are for exactly this oil.
Then buy the room, not the bottle: A 40 sq ft bathroom needs a 70 g votive, not a 200 g jar. A complete Eucalyptus Spearmint votive at 8% in a white matte votive jar is ₹90.46 in materials — wax, oil, wick and jar — which is the unit that sells in threes.

Straight answer
Which fresh or aquatic fragrance oil should you buy for candles?
Buy Eucalyptus Spearmint and Blue Ocean, and let the expensive aquatics wait until a customer is paying for them. Eucalyptus Spearmint is the most completely documented oil on this shelf and the cheapest: the page states a Fresh / Herbal / Spa family, a single-note eucalyptus-spearmint blend of moderate to strong strength, up to 10% of total wax weight in soy with a 48–72 hour cure and up to 6% in paraffin with 24–48 hours, a 199°C flash point, 0% vanillin with zero discolouration risk, IFRA certification, cotton or wooden wicks, and a 60:40 blend with lavender for a classic spa profile. At ₹3.07/g on the 1 kg pack that is ₹49.09 of oil in a 200 g candle at 8% and ₹61.36 at the ceiling — the cheapest credible fresh candle you can pour. Blue Ocean is the aquatic to put beside it at ₹4.96/g: sea salt and ozone on top, jasmine and lily of the valley in the heart, and — the part that matters commercially — driftwood and musk in the base, which the page says carries the fragrance through the full life of a candle rather than burning off in the first hour. It states up to 10% for soy and natural blends and for paraffin, up to 12% in wax melts, a 143°C flash point and 0% vanillin, and it is the one oil here with real CSI reviews behind it. Citronella at ₹2.89/g is the cheapest gram on the shelf and the obvious outdoor and balcony candle — lemon and lemongrass over citronella and green herb on a wood base, up to 10% in candles, a 270°F flash point and 0% vanillin. Cucumber Green Tea at ₹3.33/g is the green, spa-adjacent option; its page publishes a note structure and an 8–10% usage figure and nothing else. At the premium end, Hawas Ice inspired at ₹9.08/g and Hawas inspired at ₹16.53/g are perfume-grade pages — marine, mint and green apple over cardamom and nutmeg on ambergris, musk, agarwood and vetiver for the Ice — stating 7–10% for candles and 15–25% for skin. They cost ₹127.12 and ₹231.39 of oil in a 200 g candle at 7%, so they belong on a premium SKU, not in a starter range. Two more names to know: Freshwater, an aquatic-woody with a stated 8–10% soy load and an IFRA claim, is down to the 100g pack this month at ₹11.90/g; and Jasmine Coconut Spa at ₹8.00/g publishes a full skin-side profile but no candle load, flash point or vanillin figure at all — ask on WhatsApp before you pour it.
One line: Eucalyptus Spearmint as the documented default, Blue Ocean for the aquatic, the top of the published range rather than the middle, and a fourteen-day cure judged in the room the candle is actually for.
Building a bathroom, spa or summer SKU? Eucalyptus Spearmint is ₹3.07/g on the 1 kg pack — ₹49.09 of oil in a 200 g candle at 8%, ₹61.36 at the 10% ceiling — and a 15 gm trial bottle is ₹68.44, the cheapest way into this family on the whole shelf.

What “fresh” is made of, and why it reads as clean rather than strong

Customers do not ask for an aquatic. They ask for something that does not smell like a dessert.

Gourmand and floral compositions work by adding a smell to a room. Fresh and aquatic compositions work by making a room smell like better air. That is a genuine difference in how they are built, and almost every complaint about this family traces back to it.

The materials that carry freshness — ozone and marine accords, mint, green leaf notes, sea salt accords, light citrus — are volatile and, crucially, transparent. They do not add a sweet or heavy dimension a nose can point at and name. So a bedroom that genuinely smells of Eucalyptus Spearmint is described as clean, airy or calming, while the same room with a vanilla candle in it is described as strong. Both candles may be releasing a comparable amount of fragrance. Only one of them is producing the kind of smell a customer counts.

What separates a fresh oil that survives a four-hour burn from one that evaporates into nothing is the base. The Blue Ocean page is unusually clear about this: the driftwood and musk base provides warmth and depth that carries the fragrance through the full life of a candle or diffuser rather than burning off in the first hour. The Freshwater page makes the same argument from the other side, describing cheap one-dimensional aquatics as a synthetic marine note that fades within minutes, and crediting its own cedarwood and musk base for anchoring the freshness. Read the base of a fresh oil before you read the top.

Soy adds a second consideration. A soy container candle runs a cooler, shallower melt pool than a paraffin one of the same size, so it releases less fragrance per minute — which is why loads matter more in soy and why fresh is the family where the top of the published range is usually the right answer rather than a fallback. CSI 464 states a ceiling of up to 10% and Blue Ocean and Eucalyptus Spearmint both state up to 10% in soy, so the two ceilings agree: 20 g in a 200 g candle, ₹61.36 of oil for the eucalyptus and ₹99.12 for the aquatic.

Judging a fresh candle by sniffing the jar in a shop. A closed jar releases the lightest materials at room temperature and very little else, and with a transparent composition that can read as almost nothing — particularly against the gourmand sitting next to it. Two real CSI reviews for Blue Ocean read simply “Fresh and soothing” and “Good fragrance”, which is what this family gets when it works. Test on a lit candle at day 14, in a closed room, and walk in from outside after twenty minutes. If the room feels different, the oil is working, whatever the jar said.

What CSI's fresh and aquatic pages publish

The cheapest oil here publishes all five specifications. One at ₹8.00 a gram publishes none of them.

Eight pages, ranked by cost per gram at the best in-stock pack. Read the load column first, the flash point second, and the price last — this is a shelf where paying more buys a perfume claim rather than a candle specification.

Cost per candle is 16 g at 8% of a 200 g wax weight; jar, wick and packaging excluded.

Three notes on availability and one on framing. Freshwater is buyable in the 100g pack only in September 2026, so treat it as a sampling oil this month rather than a production line and check the page before planning around it. The Acqua Di Gio inspired aquatic is unavailable in every pack size at the moment; ask on WhatsApp if that specific profile is the brief. And the lemony-fresh direction — Verbena at ₹4.72/g, with a published 200°C flash point and 0% vanillin — sits with the citrus oils rather than here, because that is how its page describes itself.

The framing note is about the two perfume-grade pages. Hawas and Hawas Ice are written for skin: both describe concentrated fine perfume oils designed for extrait and EDP formulations, with projection and longevity quoted at 15–25% on skin, and both list candles as one application at 7–10%. That is a legitimate candle load, and the compositions are genuinely more complex than a cheap marine accord. But ₹264.45 of oil in one 200 g candle is a different business model from ₹49.09, and the honest advice is to earn your way to it — sell the cheap end of this shelf first, then add one premium aquatic SKU when a customer segment is paying for it.

Assuming a spa-sounding name comes with spa-candle numbers. Jasmine Coconut Spa publishes a full skin-side profile — coconut milk and bergamot, jasmine sambac and tiare, vanilla cream, sandalwood and soft musk, ideal as an EDP at 18–22% — and no candle load, no flash point and no vanillin figure. It may well pour beautifully. You simply cannot plan a batch, a cure window or a white-wax decision from what the page currently states, so ask on WhatsApp for the candle figures first. The same applies to Cucumber Green Tea beyond its 8–10% usage line.

Four to buy, and what each one is for

One spa default, one aquatic, one outdoor, one premium — and three of the four cost less than five rupees a gram.

Fresh / Herbal / Spa · the default
Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil
The most completely documented oil on this shelf and the cheapest. The page publishes a Fresh / Herbal / Spa family and a single-note eucalyptus-spearmint blend — sharp, clean, clarifying eucalyptus with a cool spearmint finish that it describes as gentler than peppermint — with a strength of moderate to strong. For candles it states up to 10% of total wax weight in soy with a 48–72 hour cure, up to 6% in paraffin with 24–48 hours, up to 10% in wax melts, 10–30% in reed diffusers and 8–15% in room sprays. Technical figures are all there: a 199°C flash point, 0% vanillin with zero discolouration risk in white, cream or light wax, compatibility across soy, paraffin, coconut and blends, cotton or wooden wicks, and IFRA certification. It even hands you the blends: lavender at 60:40 for a classic spa profile, lemon or bergamot for a bright fresh-air version, a small percentage of cedarwood or tea tree for a grounded wellness direction. At ₹3.07/g that is ₹49.09 of oil at 8% and ₹61.36 at the ceiling, so a full-strength spa candle costs less in fragrance than a half-strength premium one.

Blue Ocean Fragrance Oil
The aquatic with a published base. Sea salt and ozone open it, jasmine and lily of the valley soften the heart — the page calls it a coastal garden rather than just ocean air — and driftwood and musk ground the base. For candles it states up to 10% for soy and natural wax blends with a 48–72 hour cure and up to 10% for paraffin with 24–48 hours, up to 12% in wax melts, 10–30% in reed diffusers and 8–15% in room sprays. It publishes a 143°C flash point, 0% vanillin with no discolouration risk in white or light wax, a phthalate-free formulation and strong cold and hot throw — that last one being the page's claim, which your burn test exists to confirm. The page's own handling note is worth following: add to wax that has been cooled to the recommended pour temperature for your wax type. At ₹4.96/g it is ₹79.30 of oil at 8% and ₹99.12 at the ceiling. Two verified CSI reviews for this oil are on this page, and the live CSI guide to a beach candle is built around it.

Citronella Fragrance Oil
The cheapest gram on the shelf and a genuinely different product. The page publishes the structure — lemon and lemongrass on top, citronella and green herb in the heart, a wood base for earthiness — with usage of up to 10% for soy, paraffin and natural wax blends, a 270°F flash point, 0% vanillin and a phthalate-free formulation. It also describes citronella's natural aroma as known for insect-repellent properties, which is the page's description of the material rather than a performance promise, and it is the reason this oil belongs in a different part of your range: terrace and balcony candles, garden dinners, monsoon evenings when windows are open. At ₹2.89/g on the 1 kg pack, ₹46.26 of oil at 8% and ₹57.82 at the ceiling — the cheapest credible candle on this page. Note that the 500 gm pack at ₹2.95/g is barely dearer than the kilo, so there is little penalty in buying it a half-kilo at a time. Fresh Icy Aquatic · the premium SKU
Rasasi Hawas Ice Inspired Fragrance Oil
The one to add when someone is paying for it. This is a perfume-grade page: marine notes, mint, green apple and bergamot on top, cardamom, nutmeg and jasmine in the heart, ambergris, musk, agarwood and vetiver in the base, described as Fresh Icy Aquatic with high-impact projection and a long dry-down. For candles it states 7–10%, starting at 7%, with the maximum table listing candles in soy, paraffin and blends up to 10%; it claims IFRA certification and a phthalate-free formulation, and gives a flash point above 93°C — the lowest figure on this shelf, so add it at the lower end of the 80–90°C window rather than the top. It does not publish a vanillin figure, and the composition contains agarwood and vetiver, so run a colour check if you are pouring white wax. At ₹9.08/g — flat across 50g, 100g and 1kg — it is ₹127.12 of oil a candle at the 7% starting load against ₹49.09 for Eucalyptus Spearmint at 8%. That premium is defensible on a gift box or a masculine fresh SKU with a recognisable reference point. It is not defensible as your everyday clean candle.

Load, temperature, cure and the white-wax dividend

This is the one family where the ceiling, not the middle of the range, is usually the right starting point.

Loads here are percentages of wax weight, the way CSI's pages state them: a 200 g candle at 8% is 200 g of wax plus 16 g of oil, 216 g poured. Two ceilings apply — the wax grade's stated maximum and the oil page's stated range — and the lower governs. On CSI 464 at up to 10%, with Blue Ocean and Eucalyptus Spearmint both stating up to 10% in soy, the answer is 20 g and both ceilings agree. On Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at up to 13% the oil becomes the limit and 10% still stands. On Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 at up to 13% it is the same story, at ₹130.00 of wax per 200 g instead of ₹101.48.

Because these are transparent compositions, the practical advice differs from the woody or gourmand families. Pour your first test at the top of the stated range rather than the middle. If the candle then reads as too much — which happens mainly in small closed rooms — step down rather than up, and step down by changing the format before you change the load: a 70 g votive at 8% carries 5.6 g of oil against 20 g in a 200 g jar at 10%, and that is a far bigger change to a bathroom than two percentage points.

Temperature is easy on this shelf. Eucalyptus Spearmint publishes 199°C, Blue Ocean 143°C, and Citronella 270°F, all comfortably above the usual 80–90°C soy add window. The two perfume-grade pages state only that their flash point is above 93°C, which is a narrow margin over the top of that window, so add those two at the lower end of it — around 80°C, pitcher off the heat, bottle capped. A flash point is a transport, storage and handling figure, not the temperature at which fragrance burns off in wax, and it does not rank hot throw. What does matter is the Blue Ocean page's own instruction to add to wax cooled to your wax type's recommended pour temperature, and then to stir slowly for two full minutes so a light composition disperses evenly instead of sitting in a layer.

On cure: several of these pages give 48–72 hours for soy. Treat that as the earliest you can fairly test-burn, not as the end of the process. Soy throw keeps developing — the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page itself asks for a minimum of 48 hours and ideally one to two weeks before burn testing — and 14 to 21 days is the standard working assumption for a soy container candle in this series. For a fresh oil the difference between day three and day fourteen is often the difference between deciding an oil is weak and deciding it is your bestseller.

THE WHITE-WAX DIVIDEND
Citronella, Eucalyptus Spearmint and Blue Ocean all publish 0% vanillin and no discolouration risk, which is worth more in this family than in any other — because fresh and spa candles sell in white, frosted and pale blue glass, and nothing looks worse on that shelf than a jar that has gone butter-yellow. It also means you can skip dye entirely and let the wax stay its natural cream. A White Matte Glass Jar is ₹70.80 each in the pack of 10 and a Clear Frosted Glass Jar the same, which puts a complete 200 g Eucalyptus Spearmint candle at the 10% ceiling at ₹239.54 in materials. Keep one uncoloured test jar for 28 days anyway — that is how you find out, rather than how your customer does.

Cost per candle, and the small-room arithmetic

The dearest fresh oil on this shelf costs more in one candle than the cheapest costs in five.

The same candle, six times over: 200 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹101.48 of wax, an Eco Candle Wick Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 from the 100-pack, and fragrance at the top of each page's stated range — 10% where the page allows it, 7% where the page says to start there. The jar is excluded so the oil comparison stays honest.

Jar, label, box, courier and GST on your own sales excluded.

Two things fall out of that table. The first is that the whole cheap end of this shelf is within ₹4,130.00 of itself across a hundred candles, which means the choice between Citronella, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Cucumber Green Tea and Blue Ocean is a decision about smell and positioning, not about money. Blue Ocean costs ₹3,776.00 more than Eucalyptus Spearmint per hundred candles — spend it if the aquatic is the product, and do not if it is not. The second is that the premium end is a different category: ₹26,444.80 of oil for a hundred candles of Hawas inspired is more than the wax, the wicks and the jars put together.

Now the format question, which matters more in this family than the oil choice. Fresh candles get bought for bathrooms, washrooms, study desks and small offices — rooms of 40 to 80 sq ft, not 200. A 200 g jar at the 10% ceiling in a closed bathroom is usually too much candle. The right unit is a 70 g votive: 70 g of wax at ₹35.52, 5.6 g of oil at 8%, a ₹5.90 wick and a white matte votive jar at ₹31.86, which is ₹90.46 complete in Eucalyptus Spearmint or ₹101.03 in Blue Ocean. That is the unit that sells in threes as a gift set, in tens to a salon, and in fifties to a corporate buyer who wants something for washrooms.

Buy the fresh oil whose base you can read. The top note sells the candle and the base is what the room remembers.

How to test a fresh oil without wrongly calling it weak

Every step here exists to stop you rejecting a transparent composition for being transparent.
1
Pour the top of the range and one format downTwo jars, not two loads: a 200 g jar at the page's ceiling and a 70 g votive at 8%. For Eucalyptus Spearmint that is ₹61.36 and ₹17.18 of oil respectively. Same wax grade, same wick type, same afternoon, labelled on the base with oil, grams and date. The comparison you actually need is not 8% against 10% — it is big candle against small candle in the room the customer will use.
2
Add at the pour temperature your wax page gives, and stir two full minutesBlue Ocean's page asks for the oil to go into wax cooled to the recommended pour temperature for your wax type; the CSI soy grades that publish a working range give 80–90°C. Take the pitcher off the heat, add, and stir slowly and continuously for two minutes by the clock, scraping the base and sides. Light compositions are the easiest to under-mix and the easiest to lose to an over-hot pitcher left on a burner.
3
Take the day-three note, then wait until day fourteenThe pages give 48–72 hours for soy, so at day three you can legitimately cold-sniff and light one. Record it and then leave both jars alone. Soy throw keeps developing and the Chunks page asks for one to two weeks ideally; for this family the day-fourteen reading is the one that decides whether the oil stays in your range.
4
Burn in the real room, with the door shut and the fan as your customer has itFour hours, one jar at a time, in a 40–80 sq ft bathroom or a 100–150 sq ft bedroom depending on the SKU. Leave after twenty minutes, come back in, and write down whether the room feels clean or feels empty — those are the two outcomes for a fresh candle, and they are not the same as strong or weak. Check again at hour two and hour three, which is where the driftwood, cedar or musk base in the composition either shows up or does not.
5
Colour-check at day 28 and then commit to a pack sizeKeep one uncoloured jar out of sunlight and look at it at day 28, even on a 0% vanillin oil. If it is still cream, you can sell white and frosted glass with confidence. Then buy to a quarter's usage rather than a year's: forty 200 g candles a month at the 10% ceiling is 800 g of oil a month, which makes the 500 gm or 1 kg pack the right monthly buy — ₹1,652.00 or ₹3,068.00 for Eucalyptus Spearmint.
Leaving a fresh oil in a half-empty bottle on a sunny shelf through a Chennai summer, then blaming the oil. Fragrance oils keep best sealed, cool and out of sunlight, and the light, volatile materials that make a composition read as fresh are exactly the ones most easily lost from a bottle that has been opened thirty times. Decant a working quantity into a smaller bottle, keep the main pack closed, and buy pack sizes that match a quarter's production. A 1 kg bottle of ₹3.07/g oil bought for a range that changes in four months is money and top notes both sitting on a shelf.
The CSI principle
A fresh candle is judged on whether the room feels clean, not on whether the jar smells strong.
Which is why the format matters more than the load here: ₹61.36 of oil in a 200 g jar, or ₹17.18 in a 70 g votive that suits a bathroom.
Trialling the shelf? Eucalyptus Spearmint 15 gm ₹68.44, Blue Ocean 50 gm ₹247.00, Citronella 15 gm ₹141.60 and Cucumber Green Tea 15 gm ₹93.22 come to ₹550.26. Add Hawas Ice inspired 50g ₹454.00 for ₹1,004.26 and you can compare the ₹3.07 gram against the ₹9.08 gram in the same room on the same evening.

Where fresh sells in India: bathrooms, spas, offices and the monsoon

This is the family that sells to businesses, and businesses reorder.

Four demand pockets worth building for. The first is the bathroom and washroom, which is the single most common reason an Indian customer buys a candle for themselves rather than as a gift — and a small, closed, often windowless room is precisely where a transparent composition performs best and a gourmand becomes cloying. The live CSI piece on candle fragrances for bathrooms covers the scent side; the commercial point is that these are repeat, low-consideration purchases at a 70 g or 100 g format.

The second is the spa, salon and studio account. Yoga studios, salons, physiotherapy clinics and boutique spas buy candles and diffusers in quantity, want a consistent scent identity, and almost always want eucalyptus, mint, green or marine rather than dessert. Eucalyptus Spearmint's page positions itself exactly there, and at ₹3.07/g the economics work for a B2B price: a hundred 70 g votives is ₹1,718.08 of oil in total. The live guide to spa fragrance oils for relaxation candles is the scent-led version of this decision.

The third is the office and co-working space, which in Indian metros has become a real category — a reception desk, a meeting room, a founder's cabin. Offices want fresh or woody and specifically not food, because a food smell in a meeting room is distracting. The fourth is seasonal and it is the one no imported guide will tell you: the monsoon. From June to September a large part of the country lives with damp air, wet shoes and the particular smell of a closed flat in the rain, and clean is what people want their homes to smell like. That is the window when eucalyptus, ocean and green tea outsell vanilla, and it runs straight into the summer window from February to June when heavy gourmands stall.

Two dates for the rest of 2026. Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and with a 14–21 day cure plus courier time festive stock wants pouring by about mid-October — that is a warm-scent run, not a fresh one. Fresh belongs to the months either side: a corporate washroom or gifting order in November and December, then the summer and monsoon push from February. Plan oil accordingly. A hundred 200 g candles at the 10% ceiling needs 2 kg: ₹6,136.00 on Eucalyptus Spearmint, ₹9,912.00 on Blue Ocean, ₹5,782.00 on Citronella. For a B2B quote above the listed packs, GST invoicing, or MSDS and IFRA documentation, message CSI on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926 with your wax grade, jar size and monthly volume.

One last piece of honesty, prompted by one of the real reviews on this page asking for quicker delivery. Small, frequent orders are where delivery cost and timing bite most, and fresh oils are the ones most often ordered in small quantities — a 15 gm here, a 50 gm there. Consolidate instead: work out the quarter, order oils with wax and jars in one consignment, and ask for a basket quote on WhatsApp. A hundred 200 g Eucalyptus Spearmint candles is ₹6,136.00 of oil and ₹10,148.00 of wax — one shipment, not five.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials rather than finished candles, and this page argues repeatedly against its own margin. The oil recommended first is the cheapest on the shelf: Eucalyptus Spearmint at ₹3.07/g publishes every specification a formulator needs while the most expensive oil here publishes no vanillin figure and the ₹8.00/g oil publishes no candle figures at all. It tells you the two perfume-grade aquatics at ₹9.08/g and ₹16.53/g are not the right default for a candle range, when they are the higher-value sale. It tells you to solve a too-strong bathroom candle by changing the format rather than buying a different oil. And it says plainly that Freshwater is down to one pack size and the Acqua Di Gio inspired aquatic is unavailable this month, rather than linking them as if they were production options.

Every price is a live CSI variant price in September 2026, and the linked product pages are always authoritative where they differ. Published specifications are quoted as the pages state them: Eucalyptus Spearmint Fresh / Herbal / Spa, soy up to 10% with a 48–72 hour cure, paraffin up to 6%, wax melts up to 10%, reed diffusers 10–30%, room sprays 8–15%, flashpoint 199°C, 0% vanillin, IFRA certified; Blue Ocean Aquatic / Floral / Fresh, up to 10% for soy and natural blends and for paraffin, wax melts up to 12%, flashpoint 143°C, 0% vanillin, phthalate-free, and the page's instruction to add to wax cooled to the recommended pour temperature; Citronella up to 10% in candles, flash point 270°F, 0% vanillin, phthalate-free, with insect-repellent properties described on the page as a property of the aroma rather than a tested claim; Cucumber Green Tea 8–10% and a published note structure; Hawas Ice inspired and Hawas inspired 7–10% for candles starting at 7% with a flash point above 93°C and IFRA claims, both described as perfume-grade at 15–25% on skin; Freshwater 8–10% in soy with an IFRA claim and minimal toning noted; Jasmine Coconut Spa publishes no candle load, flash point or vanillin figure. Fragrance ceilings are the manufacturers' stated formulation maximums and not any form of legislation. No skin-safety or health claim is made here for any oil, including Citronella. Room sizes, cure practice, storage advice, seasonal windows and burn schedules are general candle-making practice unless attributed to a page.

Frequently asked questions

Which fresh or aquatic fragrance oil is best for soy candles?
Eucalyptus Spearmint for a spa or bathroom candle and Blue Ocean for an ocean one. Both state up to 10% in soy with a 48–72 hour cure and 0% vanillin, and both publish a flash point — 199°C and 143°C. At the 10% ceiling that is ₹61.36 and ₹99.12 of oil in a 200 g candle, against ₹264.45 for the perfume-grade Hawas inspired at only 8%.
Why does my fresh candle smell weak when the jar smelled fine?
Because a transparent composition produces a room that feels clean rather than a smell you can name, and because soy releases fragrance slowly from a cool melt pool. Three things to change in order: use the top of the page's stated range — 10% for Blue Ocean and Eucalyptus Spearmint on a 10% wax; cure to day 14 rather than judging at day two; and test in the size of room the candle is for, walking in from outside after twenty minutes instead of sitting beside it.
What fragrance load should I use for an aquatic oil in soy wax?
The lower of the wax grade's stated maximum and the oil page's stated range, and in this family usually right at that ceiling. CSI 464 states up to 10%; Blue Ocean and Eucalyptus Spearmint state up to 10% in soy; Freshwater states 8–10%; the two perfume-grade pages state 7–10% starting at 7%. In a 200 g candle 10% is 20 g of oil — ₹99.12 for Blue Ocean, ₹61.36 for Eucalyptus Spearmint.
Do fresh and aquatic oils discolour white wax?
The three cheapest here publish 0% vanillin and no discolouration risk — Eucalyptus Spearmint, Blue Ocean and Citronella — which is why this family suits white, cream and frosted glass. The Freshwater page describes minimal to no discolouration risk from its cedar and musk base. The perfume-grade pages publish no vanillin figure and contain agarwood and vetiver materials, so keep one uncoloured test jar for 28 days. Any toning is cosmetic and does not affect burn or throw.
Which fresh fragrance oil should I use for a bathroom candle?
Eucalyptus Spearmint in a small format. A bathroom is 40 to 80 sq ft and often closed, so the 70 g votive is the right unit rather than a 200 g jar: 70 g of wax at ₹35.52, 5.6 g of oil at 8%, a ₹5.90 wick and a white matte votive jar at ₹31.86 comes to ₹90.46 complete. Blue Ocean in the same format is ₹101.03.
Is the ₹16.53 a gram aquatic better than the ₹3.07 one?
It is a more complex composition with a fine-fragrance structure, and its page is written for skin at 15–25% rather than for wax. In a candle it costs ₹264.45 of oil at 8% against ₹49.09, which is ₹215.36 more in every jar. That is worth paying on a premium or gifting SKU where the reference point is part of the product. For an everyday clean candle it is not, and nothing in either page suggests the cheaper oil performs worse in wax.
