When to Buy Bulk · The 25 kg Question
First, a plain fact: CSI does not list a 25 kg soy wax pack. Our listed bags stop at 10 kg, and the one larger pack, Natural Soy Pearl at 50 kg, costs exactly the same per kilo as its 10 kg. So if you hold a 25 kg quote, from us on WhatsApp or anyone else, this page shows how to judge it.
1.12%
is the discount a 25 kg pack must beat, against 10 kg bags, for a maker using 10 kg a month at an example holding cost of 1.5% a month · it rises to 2.25% at 5 kg a month · baseline CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg, pulled 24 September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Does CSI sell soy wax in 25 kg packs? No 25 kg pack is listed. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, CSI 464, CSI 468 and Soy Pillar Wax stop at 10 kg; Natural Soy Pearl is also listed at 50 kg (₹21,240.00), at the same ₹424.80 a kg as its 10 kg. Larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp; no discount figure is published.

How big must the 25 kg discount be? Bigger than extra average stock × monthly holding rate ÷ monthly usage. Ordering 25 kg instead of 10 kg adds 7.5 kg of average stock. At an example 1.5% a month, that is 2.25% at 5 kg a month, 1.12% at 10 kg, 0.45% at 25 kg.

What is it worth in rupees? At 10 kg a month on CSI 464, a 25 kg quote 5% below the 10 kg rate saves ₹3,044.40 a year on wax and costs ₹684.99 a year in extra holding at the example rate: ₹2,359.41 net.

When should I say no even if it pays? When the extra cash on the day would starve something with a better return, such as jars for a confirmed order; when 25 kg is many months of wax for you; or when you cannot store it cool and dry. See cash on the day.
The short answer
25 kg at CSI: Not listed. Listed packs stop at 10 kg; Natural Soy Pearl 50 kg is ₹424.80 a kg, the same as 10 kg. Ask on WhatsApp for any 25 kg price.
Break-even: Discount needed = 7.5 kg × holding rate ÷ monthly kg. At 1.5% a month: 2.25% (5 kg/month), 1.12% (10), 0.45% (25), 0.22% (50).
Compare with: The best listed per-kg price of the same wax: ₹507.40 (CSI 464), ₹599.00 (Chunks, 5 kg), ₹424.80 (Natural Soy Pearl, 5 kg+). I Currently Buy Soy Wax in 1 Kg Packs but Use 20 Kg Every Month — At What Point Does Moving to 10 Kg or 25 Kg Packs Make More Sense? has the full ladder.
Shop: CSI 464 · Natural Soy Pearl · Candle Wax · 25 kg quotes on WhatsApp.
How much cheaper a 25 kg quote must be than 10 kg bags — by how much wax you use Break-even = 7.5 kg extra average stock × monthly holding rate ÷ monthly usage. Above a line, the 25 kg pays. holding 3% a month (cash is scarce) holding 1.5% a month (example) holding 1% a month 1% 2% 3% 4% 5% 5 kg 10 kg 20 kg 30 kg 40 kg 50 kg 60 kg your wax use per month CSI lists no 25 kg soy wax pack; the 25 kg price is the reader’s quote. Baseline: CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg in 10 kg bags.
Each line is the smallest discount at which a 25 kg order beats 10 kg bags, for a given holding rate. At low usage the bar is high, because 25 kg sits on your shelf for months. At 25 kg a month or more, almost any genuine discount pays. If cash is scarce (the 3% line), every threshold doubles.
Straight answer
A 25 kg wax pack is cheaper per kg than 10 kg. How do I decide whether the savings justify spending more cash upfront?
Start with what is real. CSI does not list a 25 kg soy wax pack: listed bags stop at 10 kg, and the one larger pack, Natural Soy Pearl Wax at 50 kg (₹21,240.00), costs ₹424.80 a kilo, exactly the same as its 10 kg. So a cheaper 25 kg is a quote, from CSI on WhatsApp or from anyone else, and you should check it is actually cheaper than the best listed bag. Then apply one test. Ordering 25 kg instead of 10 kg raises your average stock by 7.5 kg. The discount pays only if it beats 7.5 kg × your monthly holding rate ÷ your monthly usage. At an example holding cost of 1.5% a month, that is 2.25% if you use 5 kg a month, 1.12% at 10 kg and 0.45% at 25 kg. On CSI 464 at ₹507.40 a kilo, a 25 kg quote 5% below the 10 kg rate nets ₹2,359.41 a year at 10 kg a month. Last, check the cash: 25 kg needs about ₹6,976.75 more on the day than a 10 kg bag. If that cash would otherwise fund jars for a confirmed order, use a higher holding rate, and the answer can flip.
One line: a 25 kg pack pays when its discount beats 7.5 kg of extra stock times your cost of cash, divided by what you use a month — check that before the price per kilo.
The baseline every 25 kg quote should be compared against: CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 for 10 kg, ₹507.40 a kilo, the same rate as its 1 kg and 5 kg. Rated up to 10% fragrance load, the wax maker's stated maximum.

First, what is actually listed

Before judging a discount, make sure there is one. The biggest listed pack is not always the cheapest per kilo.

CSI's listed soy and pillar waxes, pulled 24 September 2026, stop at 10 kg, with one exception. Here is every listed pack at 10 kg and above, with its price per kilo against the same wax's smaller bags.

CSI live pricing, pulled 24 September 2026 · no 25 kg pack is listed for any wax
Largest listed packs and what they cost per kilo
Wax 5 kg 10 kg 50 kg 25 kg Is bigger cheaper per kg?
CSI 464 ₹2,537.00 (₹507.40) ₹5,074.00 (₹507.40) Not listed Not listed No
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks ₹2,995.00 (₹599.00) ₹5,999.00 (₹599.90) Not listed Not listed No — 10 kg is ₹0.90 dearer than 2 × 5 kg
Coconut Soy CSI 468 ₹3,185.00 (₹637.00) ₹6,370.00 (₹637.00) Not listed Not listed Only 1 kg → 5 kg (2.0%)
Soy Pillar Wax ₹3,000.00 (₹600.00) ₹6,000.00 (₹600.00) Not listed Not listed No
Natural Soy Pearl ₹2,124.00 (₹424.80) ₹4,248.00 (₹424.80) ₹21,240.00 (₹424.80) Not listed Only 1 kg → 5 kg (5.6%); 50 kg = 10 kg

So on CSI's own list, no pack above 10 kg is cheaper per kilo than a 10 kg bag, and the 50 kg Natural Soy Pearl is the proof that bigger does not automatically mean cheaper. That is why the title's premise has to be checked, not assumed. If you have been quoted a 25 kg price, from CSI on WhatsApp or from another supplier, convert it to a price per kilo and compare it with the best listed per-kilo price of the same wax, not with the 1 kg price. A 25 kg quote at ₹520.00 a kilo for a CSI 464-type wax is not a discount at all against ₹507.40.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We could let the 50 kg Natural Soy Pearl pack imply a bulk discount. It does not carry one: it is ₹424.80 a kilo, the same as the 10 kg. And we do not list a 25 kg pack at all. If you want a 25 kg or larger price from us, ask on WhatsApp and we will quote it; no discount figure is published, so judge whatever we quote with the test on this page, exactly as you would anyone else's.

The break-even discount

Say you use U kilos of wax a month and currently buy 10 kg bags as you need them. With steady use, your average stock is 5 kg. If you switch to 25 kg orders, your average stock is 12.5 kg: 7.5 kg more wax on the shelf, all the time. That extra stock costs you its value × your monthly holding rate, every month. The discount saves you U × price × discount, every month. The two are equal when:

The CSI principle
Break-even discount = 7.5 kg × monthly holding rate ÷ monthly usage.
The price per kilo cancels out. What matters is how long 25 kg sits with you (usage) and what idle cash costs you (holding rate). Use your own holding rate: your borrowing rate, or what spare cash earns, plus storage.
Ordering 25 kg vs 10 kg · steady use · holding rates are examples — replace with your own
Discount a 25 kg quote must beat
Your use per month At 1% a month At 1.5% a month (example) At 3% a month (cash is scarce)
5 kg 1.50% 2.25% 4.50%
10 kg 0.75% 1.12% 2.25%
25 kg 0.30% 0.45% 0.90%
50 kg 0.15% 0.22% 0.45%

Read it from the bottom. At 50 kg a month, a 25 kg pack is two weeks of wax and any discount above 0.22% pays. At 5 kg a month, the same pack is five months on the shelf and needs more than 2.25% at the example rate, or 4.50% if cash is tight. The holding rate matters as much as usage: double it and every threshold doubles. I'm Using 10 Kg of Soy Wax Every Month — How Much Should I Order at Once so I Save on Cost Without Holding Unnecessary Inventory? uses the same holding-cost logic to set order size when there is no discount at all.

Months of cover is the quick check
25 kg ÷ your monthly usage = months on the shelf. Under two months, almost any genuine discount is worth taking if you have the cash and space. Over four months, the discount has to be real and the wax has to be one you are sure you will keep using.

What a 25 kg quote is worth, in rupees

Percentages hide the size of the decision. Here is the net yearly effect of switching from 10 kg bags to 25 kg orders on a CSI 464-type wax priced at ₹507.40 a kilo in 10 kg, for hypothetical 25 kg quotes 2%, 5% and 8% below that rate. Net = yearly saving on wax − yearly cost of the extra 7.5 kg of average stock at the example 1.5% a month.

Baseline ₹507.40/kg (CSI 464, 10 kg) · 25 kg discounts are hypothetical quotes · holding at example 1.5% a month
Net yearly saving from 25 kg orders
Your use per month Quote 2% below 10 kg rate 5% below 8% below Break-even discount
5 kg (5.0 months per 25 kg) -₹76.11 ₹837.21 ₹1,750.53 2.25%
10 kg (2.5 months per 25 kg) ₹532.77 ₹2,359.41 ₹4,186.05 1.12%
25 kg (1.0 months per 25 kg) ₹2,359.41 ₹6,926.01 ₹11,492.61 0.45%
50 kg (0.5 months per 25 kg) ₹5,403.81 ₹14,537.01 ₹23,670.21 0.22%

At 10 kg a month and a 5% quote, the wax saving is ₹3,044.40 a year and the extra holding ₹684.99, so you keep ₹2,359.41. At 5 kg a month and a 2% quote, the saving is ₹608.88 against ₹684.99 of holding: -₹76.11, a small loss for five months of wax on the shelf. At 50 kg a month, even 2% is worth ₹5,403.81 a year. The quotes and the 25 kg prices they imply are the reader's, not CSI's: 2% off gives ₹12,431.30 for 25 kg, 5% off ₹12,050.75, 8% off ₹11,670.20, against ₹12,685.00 for two and a half 10 kg bags at the listed rate.

The mistake that looks like a saving. Comparing the 25 kg quote with the 1 kg price. A 25 kg quote at ₹540.00 a kilo looks 10% cheaper than a ₹599.00 kilo bag of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, but the Chunks cost ₹599.00 a kilo in 5 kg bags too, and CSI 464 is ₹507.40 a kilo at every pack from 1 kg. Always compare like with like: same wax, best listed bag, price per kilo.

Cash on the day — when scarce cash says no

The discount is paid back slowly. The cash leaves on the day you order.

A 10 kg bag of CSI 464 is ₹5,074.00. A 25 kg order at 5% below that rate is ₹12,050.75: ₹6,976.75 more leaving your account on one day. For a business with spare cash, the holding rate captures this cost well enough. For a business where that cash is the difference between buying jars for a confirmed order or not, it does not. In that case the right holding rate is the return you would lose on the thing you cannot now buy, which can be far higher than any loan rate.

Hypothetical quotes · holding rates are examples
Same quote, different cash position
Situation Use per month Quote Holding rate used Net yearly effect
Spare cash in the bank 10 kg 5% below 1.5% a month ₹2,359.41
Spare cash in the bank 5 kg 2% below 1.5% a month -₹76.11
Cash needed for jars and oils 5 kg 2% below 3% a month -₹761.10
Cash needed for jars and oils 10 kg 5% below 3% a month ₹1,674.42

Even at a high cash cost, the 10 kg-a-month maker still gains from a genuine 5% quote. The 5 kg-a-month maker loses on a 2% quote at either rate. The rule of thumb is simple: the less wax you use, the bigger the discount has to be, and the tighter your cash, the bigger again. Checking a 25 kg quote

1
Convert the quote to a price per kiloDivide the 25 kg price by 25. Ask whether it includes delivery; if you pay delivery separately on either option, add it per kilo to both.
2
Compare with the best listed bag of the same wax₹507.40 for CSI 464, ₹599.00 for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks in 5 kg, ₹424.80 for Natural Soy Pearl from 5 kg, ₹637.00 for CSI 468 from 5 kg, ₹600.00 for Soy Pillar Wax. The discount is the gap from that, not from a 1 kg bag.
3
Work out months on the shelf25 kg ÷ your monthly usage. Over four months, be sure the wax will not change in your recipe before it is used.
4
Apply the break-even7.5 kg × your monthly holding rate ÷ your monthly usage. If the discount beats it, the quote pays on money.
5
Check the cash and the spaceCan you pay the difference on the day without delaying anything that earns more? Can you store 25 kg sealed, off the floor and away from heat, as general practice suggests?
6
Test the wax if it is newA cheaper 25 kg of a different wax is a formulation change. Burn-test it in your jar at your load before committing a sack to it. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13% and CSI 464 up to 10%; others, check the product page.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page about a cheaper 25 kg pack, the convenient thing for us would be to let you assume we sell one, or that our 50 kg pack carries a discount. We do not list a 25 kg soy wax pack, and our 50 kg Natural Soy Pearl costs the same per kilo as its 10 kg. This page says both plainly and gives you a test to apply to any quote, including ours.

Every wax price on this page is CSI live pricing, pulled on 24 September 2026. The 25 kg prices are hypothetical quotes expressed as 2%, 5% and 8% below the 10 kg rate; they are not CSI prices. Break-even discounts, net yearly savings and cash differences are arithmetic on those figures and the stated example holding rates, shown so you can check them.

The usage levels, the 1%, 1.5% and 3% a month holding rates and the steady-use assumption are examples, not facts about your business. Replace them with your own. For a 25 kg or larger per-kilo quote, GST invoicing or MSDS, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 25 kg bag of soy wax cheaper than 10 kg?
Only if a supplier quotes it that way. CSI does not list a 25 kg soy wax pack; its listed bags stop at 10 kg, and its 50 kg Natural Soy Pearl costs the same per kg as the 10 kg. Compare any 25 kg quote with the best listed per-kg price of the same wax.
How do I know if a bulk wax discount is worth it?
Compare the discount with 7.5 kg × your monthly holding rate ÷ your monthly usage (for 25 kg orders instead of 10 kg). At 1.5% a month that is 1.12% at 10 kg a month. If the discount is bigger, it pays on money.
What is the holding cost of buying wax in bulk?
The cost of the cash tied up in the extra stock, plus storage and damage risk, usually expressed as a percentage of stock value per month or year. This page uses 1.5% a month as an example; use your own borrowing rate or what spare cash earns.
Should a small candle business buy 25 kg of wax?
At 5 kg a month, 25 kg is five months of wax and needs a discount above 2.25% at the example rate, more if cash is tight. At 10 kg a month or more, a genuine discount of a few per cent usually pays if you have the cash and cool, dry storage.
What is the biggest soy wax pack CSI sells?
Natural Soy Pearl Wax at 50 kg for ₹21,240.00 (₹424.80 a kg). Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, CSI 464, CSI 468 and Soy Pillar Wax are listed up to 10 kg. Larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp.
Does CSI give bulk discounts on wax?
No volume discount figure is published. Some listed waxes are cheaper per kg from 5 kg (Natural Soy Pearl 5.6%, CSI 468 2.0%); none is cheaper again above 10 kg on the list. Ask on WhatsApp for a per-kg quote on larger quantities and test it with this page.
