CSI Sourcing Guides · Professional Buying
A professional's supply list is not a hobbyist's list with bigger numbers on it. It is a different list, chosen against five criteria a hobbyist never applies — and it rejects perfectly pleasant materials for reasons that have nothing to do with quality.
₹237.51
total materials cost of one finished 150g candle, costed line by line below · the jar is 39.7% of it and the wax is 29.5% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What actually separates professional buying from hobby buying? Five criteria: specification over description, repeatability over novelty, documentation over trust, trial sizes before commitment, and total cost per finished candle over unit price. None of them is about pack size.

What does "specification over description" reject? Anything sold as "soy wax, premium quality" with no named grade, no published fragrance ceiling and no stated pour band. On the CSI range that bar is met in full by exactly one wax — Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464.

Where does the money in a candle actually sit? On a 150g candle costing ₹237.51 in materials, the jar and lid are ₹94.40 — 39.7%. The wax is ₹70.02. Squeezing ₹20/kg out of the wax saves ₹2.76.

What should a professional buy first? Trial sizes. Ten 15g fragrance oils cost ₹1,002.02 and stop you committing ₹7,646 to a 1kg drum of something your customers do not buy.
The short answer
Buy a named grade, not a description. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 publishes a stated ceiling of up to 10% and an 80–90°C melt-and-pour band. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks publish up to 13%. Those are the two soy grades on the range with a published ceiling.
Freeze the range, then document it. One recipe per SKU, one retained sample per batch, one batch record per pour. Six oils held for twelve months beats twenty rotated every quarter.
Cost the candle, not the kilogram. ₹237.51 per finished 150g candle: jar ₹94.40, wax ₹70.02, fragrance ₹60.32, wick ₹9.44, wick sticker ₹2.50, care sticker ₹0.83.

Total cost per finished 150 g candle — ₹237.51 in materials, by component Wick ₹9.44 · wick sticker ₹2.50 · care sticker ₹0.83 — 5.4% together JAR + LID ₹94.40 · 39.7% WAX ₹70.02 · 29.5% FRAGRANCE ₹60.32 · 25.4% This is the slice most makers try to optimise. Knocking ₹20/kg off the wax saves ₹2.76 per candle — 1.2% of the total. Moving from a ₹107.00 jar to a ₹94.40 jar saves ₹12.60 — 4.6 times as much. 150 g fill at an 8% load: 138 g wax + 12 g oil. Materials only; tax and freight excluded.
Costed on Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074/10kg, Sandalwood Fragrance Oil at ₹5,026.80/kg, an Eco Candle Wick Thick (C2) at ₹9.44, a wick sticker at ₹2.50, a care sticker at ₹0.83 and a Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150g) at ₹94.40. CSI live pricing, September 2026. The wax slice is marked because it is the one almost every maker attacks first, and it is the third-largest line on the chart.
Straight answer
What do professional candle makers in India buy differently?
Not bigger packs. Different criteria. A professional buys a named grade with a published ceiling and a stated working temperature — Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at up to 10%, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at up to 13% — and treats an unnamed "soy wax" as unusable regardless of how good it is. They buy for repeatability, freezing a documented recipe per SKU rather than chasing new scents. They ask for MSDS, IFRA and a GST invoice before the order, not after a complaint. They buy 15g trial sizes from the 92-oil range before committing to a kilogram. And they cost the finished candle, not the kilogram: ₹237.51 for a 150g candle, of which the jar and lid are ₹94.40 and the wax is ₹70.02. If you are still deciding whether one supplier can cover the whole list, that audit is here; if you are scaling the pour itself, that is here. This page is only about the buying criteria.
One line: professionals reject materials for missing paperwork, not for poor performance — and they optimise the jar line, not the wax line.
The cheapest professional habit to adopt this month: ten 15g fragrance trial sizes for ₹1,002.02 instead of one 1kg drum at ₹2,832–₹7,646. You will kill six of the ten before they ever reach a customer.

The five criteria, and the order each one changes

The hobbyist asks "is this good?". The professional asks "can I still be making this exact candle in eighteen months, and can I prove what is in it?"

Going professional is not the same list in larger quantities. Pack size is a consequence of volume, not a criterion — and on several CSI lines the bigger bag carries no per-kilogram advantage at all, which is covered further down. What changes is the set of questions applied before a product is allowed onto the order.

Most of those questions have nothing to do with performance. An oil can smell superb, throw hard and delight every customer, and still fail the screen because you cannot get a specification sheet for it. That is not snobbery. It is what happens when a candle that sold 200 units in October has to be reproduced identically in March, and the only record of what went into it is a memory.

Professional criteria · what each one changes on the purchase order
Five screens, applied before performance is even considered
# Criterion The hobby version The professional version What it changes on the order
1 Specification over description "Soy wax, good quality, works well" A named grade with a published fragrance ceiling and a stated pour band CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg goes on the order. An unnamed soy at ₹399/kg does not, even though it is ₹108.40/kg cheaper
2 Repeatability over novelty A new scent every month because it is fun Six SKUs held for twelve months, each with a written recipe and a retained sample Six oils bought at 1kg (₹2,832–₹8,960 each) rather than twenty part-used 100g bottles — one lot per scent, traceable
3 Documentation over trust The reviews are good, so it must be fine MSDS, IFRA documentation and a GST invoice requested before the bulk order One WhatsApp message ahead of a ₹10,100.80 wax-and-oil commitment
4 Trial sizes before commitment Buy the kilo, the per-gram rate is better Buy 15g of ten candidates, burn them, kill six ₹1,002.02 spent to avoid a ₹7,646 drum of something that does not sell
5 Total cost per finished candle Compare ₹/kg on wax across suppliers Cost the whole unit: ₹237.51, of which the jar is 39.7% The jar line gets the scrutiny and the negotiation. The wax line gets left alone
Argue with criterion one before you accept it. It looks wasteful, because it is. Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399/kg is genuinely cheaper than CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg — ₹14.96 off every candle, or ₹71,808 a year at 400 candles a month, given up for the sake of a published number. The counter is narrow and it holds: CSI 400 publishes a working band but not a ceiling, so at 10% you are guessing, and a wrong guess across a 400-unit Diwali run costs far more than ₹5,984 a month. If you want CSI 400 on a professional line — and it is a good wax — establish the ceiling yourself with a documented test series and write it into your own spec sheet. That is legitimate. Using it undocumented is not.

Notice what none of the five say. None says "buy premium" or "buy imported". Criterion five pushes the other way: cost the whole unit and the expensive wax turns out to be a rounding error while the jar you never questioned turns out to be the largest line on the sheet. Professional buying is not upmarket buying. It is buying where the money and the risk actually are.

Specification over description — and the honest gaps

The clearest marker of a professional buyer is that they will not use a material they cannot name precisely. "Soy wax" is not a material; it is a category containing waxes with different melt points, additive packages, fragrance-holding capacities and pour behaviour. A recipe built on "soy wax" is not a recipe, it is a description of last time.

The bar is three things: a named grade, a published maximum fragrance load, and a stated working temperature band. With those you can write a recipe someone else could follow, diagnose a failure without guessing, and re-order in eighteen months. Without them you are running on familiarity, which works until the batch behaves differently and you have no fixed point to measure against.

The CSI wax range against the three-part specification bar
Which waxes a professional can spec from the page, and which need a phone call first
Wax Named grade Published ceiling Stated temperature band From
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) Yes — CSI 464 Yes — up to 10% Yes — melt and pour 80–90°C ₹260 / 500g
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks Yes — Luxury Soy Chunks Yes — up to 13% Not published on the page ₹299 / 500g
Eco Soy CSI 400 Yes — CSI 400 No Yes — fragrance in at 80–90°C, stir 2 min ₹399 / 1kg
Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 Yes — CSI 468 No Not published on the page ₹325 / 500g
Soy Pillar Wax By application only No Not published on the page ₹300 / 500g
Natural Soy Pearl Wax By form only No Not published on the page ₹450 / 1kg

That table is not flattering and is not meant to be. Exactly one wax in the range clears all three parts of the bar: CSI 464. Luxury Soy Chunks publish the highest ceiling at 13% but no temperature band. Eco Soy CSI 400 publishes a band but no ceiling. Everything below is named by application or physical form, which tells you what it is for but not what it will hold. If you want to spec entirely off published figures, your container wax is CSI 464 and your ceiling is 10%.

How to state the ceiling correctly
The 10% and 13% figures are wax-manufacturer formulation limits — the maximum oil that specific wax is formulated to hold in solution. They are not regulatory limits, not interchangeable between waxes, and no substitute for your fragrance supplier's own usage documentation. Write them into a spec sheet as "Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — manufacturer-stated maximum fragrance load 10%", never as "soy takes 10%".

The same bar applied to the rest of the list produces three more honest gaps worth naming before you plan around them.

1
No internal jar diameters are publishedContainers are specified by fill weight — 70g votives, 150g lidded jars, 85g and 135g tins, 500g and 700g apothecary jars. The one millimetre figure anywhere in the container range belongs to the 200ml Salsa Glass Jar, and it is a 63mm lug cap — the closure, not the bore. Internal diameter sets melt-pool area and therefore wick size, so you cannot pick a wick from a chart. Measure the jar on arrival, record it in your spec sheet, and budget one test programme per jar you adopt. Start with the wick-by-diameter guide.
2
Wicks are designated Thin and Thick, not numbered by burn diameterEco Candle Wicks ship as Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 each and Thick (C2) at ₹9.44 each — a two-step choice, not a series with a rated diameter per size, so a maker running four jar sizes cannot map wick to jar on paper. The one listing that names a diameter is Eco Candle Wicks Loose (2 inch diameter) at ₹413 for 5 metres. If your range spans several bores, narrow the range or test Performance Wooden Wicks at ₹590 per 10 against it.
3
No shelf-life figures are published on any raw materialNeither the waxes nor the 92 fragrance oils carry a stated shelf life on the storefront, so you cannot write a stock-rotation policy off a published number. Record your own invoice date as the received date against every lot, rotate first-in-first-out on that basis, and hold a dated retained sample so that if an oil drifts you can smell the difference rather than argue about it. Ask for the documentation that does exist — MSDS and IFRA sheets, supplied on request — before a bulk commitment, not after.

None of this makes CSI unsuitable for professional work. It makes it a supplier you specify around rather than from — the normal condition of buying candle materials in India, and exactly why the habit of writing your own spec sheet exists. The supplier publishes what it publishes; the gaps become fields in your document. The separate question of satisfying yourself that a wax is what it claims to be is answered in how to verify wax quality before you buy, and is not repeated here.

Working back from Diwali on 8 November 2026, a professional line freezes its recipe now and pours to a documented sheet, rather than testing in October. Bulk pricing, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation are handled directly on WhatsApp.

Repeatability: recipe, retained sample, batch record

A candle you made once is a result. A candle you can make identically in eighteen months is a product.

Novelty is the hobbyist's reward and the professional's liability. Every new scent is a new wick test, a new cure schedule, a new photograph, a new label, a new line of stock and a new way to disappoint someone. The professional instinct runs the other way: find six that sell, freeze them, and spend the next year making them better rather than making different ones.

Freezing a range only means something if the recipe is written at the bench during the pour, not reconstructed afterwards. Three artefacts do the work: a recipe sheet per SKU, which is the intent; a batch record per pour, which is what actually happened; and a retained sample per batch, which is the physical evidence when the two disagree.

The batch record · fourteen fields, filled in during the pour
One sheet per batch, filed by batch code, kept for at least two years
Field What you write Why a professional needs it
Batch code Date + SKU + sequence, e.g. 2026-09-13-SANDAL150-03 Goes on the base sticker, so a returned candle traces to one sheet
Wax Full product name, variant, invoice date "Soy wax" is not traceable. "CSI 464, 10kg, invoiced 2026-09-02" is
Fragrance Full product name, size, invoice date Traces a change in performance to a purchase instead of a debate
Load Percentage and the actual grams weighed 12g in 150g is 8%; both figures make the arithmetic auditable
Stated ceiling The manufacturer's figure for that wax 10% for CSI 464, 13% for Luxury Soy Chunks — proves you stayed inside
Add temperature The reading on the thermometer, not the target The target is 80–90°C. What you got is the fact
Stir time Timed, in seconds Two minutes is the specification. Forty seconds is the usual reality
Pour temperature Reading at the moment of pouring Drives adhesion, finish and frosting, independently of throw
Ambient conditions Room temperature at pour, and the month A May pour and a January pour set differently
Vessel Product, pack invoice, and your own measured internal diameter in mm Diameter is not published, so your measurement is the only record
Wick Type and size, e.g. Eco Thin (C1) or Thick (C2) The commonest uncontrolled variable between two batches of one SKU
Units poured / passed Both numbers, and the reason for any failures Turns wastage into a percentage instead of a feeling
Retained sample Where the held-back jar is stored, labelled with the batch code Settles a complaint in five minutes instead of a week
Cure and burn test Pour date, test date, time to full pool, throw at 30 and 120 minutes, soot Converts an opinion into a comparable measurement

The retained sample gets dropped first and should not be. One unlit jar held back per batch, labelled with the batch code and stored with the paperwork, costs ₹237.51 of stock — 1.7% of a 60-unit batch. In exchange, when a customer says the March candle smells weaker than the November one, you light both retains and find out in twenty minutes whether they are right, instead of reformulating on the strength of one email. It is also the only defence against your own memory, which will insist the old batch was better.

Weigh everything, and buy the two cheap instruments first
Load is a weight percentage and oils differ in density, so millilitres will never give a repeatable load. A weighing scale at ₹354 and a pen thermometer at ₹354 — ₹708 the pair — are the only two purchases that make a batch record mean anything. A Mini Electric Wax Melter at ₹2,360 or a CSI Pro Mixer at ₹349 improves consistency, but without the first two you have nothing to be consistent about.
The CSI principle
A hobbyist's records exist so they can remember. A professional's records exist so someone else can reproduce the candle without asking them.
That is the actual test. If the person who pours on Thursday when you are ill cannot make the same candle from the sheet, the sheet is not finished — and neither is the recipe.

Total cost per finished candle, not price per kilogram

Ask a hobbyist what their wax costs and you get a figure per kilogram. Ask a professional and you get a figure per candle, with the wax as one line among six. That is not pedantry — it changes which supplier conversations are worth having.

Here is the full sheet for one 150g candle poured in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at an 8% load, in a Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid. Every figure is a listed price at the best in-stock tier, September 2026. Labour, outer packaging, tax and freight are excluded, and all four are real.

One finished 150g candle · materials only
₹237.51 per unit, broken out by line
Component Product and tier Rate Per candle Share
Jar + lid Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150g), pack of 20 at ₹1,888 ₹94.40 each ₹94.40 39.7%
Wax (138g) Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, 10kg at ₹5,074 ₹507.40 / kg ₹70.02 29.5%
Fragrance (12g) Sandalwood Fragrance Oil, 1kg at ₹5,026.80 ₹5.03 / g ₹60.32 25.4%
Wick Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2), 100 at ₹944 ₹9.44 each ₹9.44 4.0%
Wick sticker Candle Wick Stickers, 1 sheet of 40 at ₹100 ₹2.50 each ₹2.50 1.1%
Care sticker Candle Care Stickers Roll, 500 at ₹413 ₹0.83 each ₹0.83 0.3%
Total Materials only, tax and freight excluded — ₹237.51 100%

Now look at what happens when you try to improve that number. This is the table that should reorder your supplier conversations, because it shows that the line everyone attacks first is close to the least responsive line on the sheet.

Upgrade to a wooden wick Eco Thick (C2), ₹9.44 Performance Wooden Wicks, 100 pk, ₹41.30 +₹31.86 +13.4%

The arithmetic is blunt. Winning ₹20 per kilogram on wax is worth ₹2.76 a candle. One decision about jar format is worth ₹64.90 — twenty-three times as much — and it takes a line on a purchase order rather than a negotiation. Even moving up to a wooden wick costs ₹31.86, eleven times what the whole wax-haggling exercise saves. If you have one hour a month to improve unit cost, none of it should go on the wax line.

The obvious counter, and why it is only half right. "Fine — put everything in the ₹29.50 salsa jar and pocket ₹64.90." Sometimes yes. But the 200ml Salsa Glass Jar is a lug-cap food-jar format, and a brand selling at ₹1,200 retail cannot carry it without becoming a different brand. The point is not that cheap jars are correct. It is that the jar is the only line where one decision moves the number by more than a quarter, so it deserves the deepest thought, the widest shortlist and the most sample orders — the attention you were about to give the wax. For the retail side rather than the cost side, work through how to price candles in India in 2026 and is candle making actually profitable.
Nobody ever saved a candle business ₹20 a kilogram. They saved it ₹65 a jar and never mentioned it.

1
Container wax · the only full-spec grade
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes)
The one wax in the range publishing a named grade, a stated maximum fragrance load of up to 10% and an 80–90°C melt-and-pour band — which is why it heads the list rather than the cheaper Eco Soy CSI 400. Note the pricing shape: there is no volume break above 1kg. Buy the 10kg for one lot number across a production run, not to save money, because it does not.

Fragrance · the volume anchor
Sandalwood Fragrance Oil
Every professional range needs one scent carrying festival and gifting volume, and in India that is usually sandalwood. What makes it a professional pick is the price shape: the per-gram rate improves 19% from the 15g trial size to the 1kg drum, then stops improving entirely at 100g. So trial at 15g for ₹93.22 and jump straight to 1kg once it sells — the 500g tier costs the same per gram as the kilo and ties up half the stock for nothing.
Size Price Per gram 150g candles @ 8%

3
Container · the biggest line on the sheet
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram)
At 39.7% of the finished candle this decides your unit economics, and it is the cheapest of the lidded 150g family — the black, red, pink and orange versions are ₹107.00 each, a ₹12.60 premium for a colourway. Two things to notice: the internal diameter is not published, so measure it on arrival before you order wicks; and there is no volume break between the pack of 10 and the pack of 20.
Pack Price Per jar Candles
Pack of 10 ₹944.00 ₹94.40 10
Pack of 20 ₹1,888.00 ₹94.40 20

Wick · the cheapest variable to control
Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) and Thick (C2)
Four percent of the candle by cost and most of the risk by outcome. With no numbered series and no published burn diameters, buy both sizes, burn them side by side in the actual jar, and record the winner against your measured diameter. Pricing is flat to 1,000 pieces, so do not tie up ₹5,900 in a thousand C1 wicks: there is no discount, and if the test says C2 you have bought a year of the wrong wick.

Where to push back on CSI, and when the range runs out

A supplier you cannot criticise is a supplier you have not looked at properly.

The first pushback is on pricing structure, and it is the most useful thing on this page for anyone about to place a large order. Volume breaks exist on some CSI lines and are absent on others, and the pattern is not visible from the collection page. Assuming a discount that is not there is how a business ends up with ₹5,900 of wicks and no advantage.

Say the quiet part plainly: on wax, wicks and lidded 150g jars, buying deeper does not buy cheaper. Order the 10kg bag or the thousand-wick pack because a single lot number across a production run is worth having, or because one parcel beats six — both good reasons, neither of them price. For a lower rate on those lines the conversation is a direct one on WhatsApp about a specific quantity, not a click on a bigger variant.

Where the range stops being enough. Four limits, each checkable against the store on any given day. Colourway continuity: on the 10 September 2026 pull, the purple, brown and pink 70g matte votives were out of stock together, alongside four of the six Colorful Votive shades — a range built on six matched jar colours cannot be run reliably from one source without buffer stock. Format continuity: Soy Wax 464 Pellets were fully out of stock while the flake form of the same nominal grade was available; if your process depends on a physical form, that is a single point of failure. Equipment ceiling: the range tops out at the 20-litre Electric Wax Melter at ₹23,600 and the imported 10kg and 20kg melters at ₹21,240 and ₹25,960; above roughly 20kg per melt cycle you buy capital equipment elsewhere. Freight and tax: every figure here excludes both, and on heavy, low-value goods like glass they are not a rounding error. Ask for a delivered, GST-inclusive quote before comparing CSI to anyone else.

The second-order point matters more than any of the four. A professional does not need a supplier with no gaps; they need a supplier whose gaps they have written down. Every limit above is manageable on paper: buffer stock covers colourway risk, a measured diameter covers the missing jar spec, your invoice date covers the missing shelf life, a delivered quote covers freight. What is not manageable is finding a gap in week two of a festive run. If you are still choosing between suppliers rather than managing one, that work is in the supplier comparison and where professional candle brands buy.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page like this one the commercially convenient thing to write would be that every product in the range clears a professional bar. It does not. Only two soy grades publish a fragrance ceiling, only one publishes both a ceiling and a working temperature band, no container in the range publishes an internal diameter, and no raw material carries a stated shelf life. Those are the gaps a professional buyer would find in an hour, so they are stated here rather than left to be discovered during a festive run.

Every price, pack size, variant and stock note quoted here comes from the live CSI catalogue as pulled on 10 September 2026, and each figure links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. The 13% and 10% figures are the manufacturer-stated maximum fragrance loads for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 respectively — wax formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and not interchangeable between waxes. The ₹237.51 unit cost is arithmetic on listed prices, not a quotation; it excludes labour, outer packaging, GST and freight.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between professional and hobbyist candle making supplies?
Not the products and not the pack sizes — the criteria. A professional buys a named grade with a published fragrance ceiling and a stated working temperature, freezes a documented recipe per SKU, requests MSDS, IFRA and GST paperwork before committing, trials at 15g before buying kilograms, and costs the finished candle rather than the kilogram. A hobbyist can happily use an unnamed "soy wax" that performs beautifully; a professional cannot, because they have to reproduce it in eighteen months and prove what went into it.
Which CSI wax should a professional candle maker use?
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 for containers, at ₹260 for 500g up to ₹5,074 for 10kg. It is the only grade in the range that publishes all three things a spec sheet needs: a named grade, a manufacturer-stated maximum fragrance load of up to 10%, and a stated 80–90°C melt-and-pour band. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks publish the higher ceiling at up to 13% and are the choice if you need that headroom. Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399/kg is ₹14.96 cheaper per candle but publishes no ceiling, so it needs your own documented test series before it belongs on a professional line.
How much does it cost to make one candle in India?
On CSI live pricing in September 2026, a 150g soy candle costs ₹237.51 in materials: jar and lid ₹94.40, wax ₹70.02, fragrance ₹60.32, wick ₹9.44, wick sticker ₹2.50 and care sticker ₹0.83. That excludes labour, outer packaging, GST and freight. The distribution matters more than the total — the jar is 39.7% of it, so a single decision about jar format moves the number far more than any negotiation on wax. Retail pricing is a separate exercise and is worked through in how to price candles in India in 2026.
Should I buy the 10kg bag of wax to get a better rate?
On CSI 464, no — the rate is ₹507.40 per kilogram at 1kg, 5kg and 10kg alike, so buying deeper buys you nothing on price. The same is true of Eco Candle Wicks at ₹5.90 flat from 10 pieces to 1,000. Buy the larger pack for one lot number across a production run, or for fewer parcels, not for a discount. Real breaks do exist elsewhere: 30% on Performance Wooden Wicks at 100 pieces and 26.5% on 200ml Salsa Glass Jars at 50. Check the per-unit rate at every tier before scaling.
What documentation should I ask a candle supply company for?
Before a bulk order, not after: MSDS and IFRA documentation for every fragrance oil you intend to scale, and a GST invoice for the purchase. CSI supplies all three on request through WhatsApp. Ask also for the stated fragrance ceiling of the specific wax and its working temperature band, and record both in your own spec sheet. Where a figure is not published — internal jar diameters and shelf life are the two obvious ones on this range — measure or date it yourself and treat your record as the specification.
How many fragrance oils should a professional candle brand carry?
Fewer than you want to. Six scents held for twelve months, each with a written recipe, a burn-tested wick and a retained sample, will outperform twenty rotated quarterly, because every new scent is a fresh wick test, a fresh cure schedule and a fresh way to disappoint someone. Trial widely and cheaply — ten 15g sizes from the 92-oil range cost ₹1,002.02 — then kill most of them and commit hard to the survivors. Volume planning for a fixed range is covered in how much fragrance oil a candle business needs.
Buy against criteria, not adjectives
Named grade. Documented recipe. Retained sample. Trial size. Cost per candle.
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 from ₹260/500g with a stated 10% ceiling and an 80–90°C band, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks from ₹299/500g at 13%, Eco Candle Wicks from ₹59, lidded 150g jars at ₹94.40, and 92 fragrance oils in 15g trial sizes through to 1kg. Ask for MSDS, IFRA and GST invoicing before you scale, not after.

Figures verified from the CSI catalogue pull of 10 September 2026: Fragrance load ceilings are the wax manufacturers' stated maximums — up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and up to 10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits.
