Cedarwood Candle Fragrance Oil Wholesale in India

Which one should a production range buy? Sage and Cedarwood, if you want numbers to work from. Its page states "Flashpoint: 190°C", "Vanillin Content: 0% (No risk of discoloration)", "Up to 10% for soy wax" and "Up to 6% for paraffin wax", with cure times for both. Saffron Cedarwood's page states its notes and nothing else.
What does cedarwood cost per candle? At 8% in a 200 g candle — 16 g of oil — ₹82.69 bought at the 500 gm rate or ₹109.88 bought at the 1 kg rate. At 10% it is ₹103.37 and ₹137.35. The ladder, not the oil, is what moves that number.
Is cedar only available in those two? No. Cedar or cedarwood appears in the stated notes of at least eight more in-stock listings, from Mint Sandalwood at ₹4,999 a kilo to Lavender Oud at ₹12,000 — but in those it is a supporting note, not the subject.
The cedarwood shelf, and where cedar hides
Cedar is a structural note. It is dry, slightly pencil-shaving, faintly resinous, and it gives a composition a spine rather than a personality — which is why perfumers use it constantly and why so few oils are sold under its name. At CSI exactly two listings put cedarwood in the title. Both are worth knowing in full, because they cost the same and behave completely differently on paper.
| Oil | Stated notes or profile (verbatim) | Listed sizes | Cheapest listed kilo | Oil per candle @ 8% | @ 10% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sage and Cedarwood Fragrance Oil | "Fragrance Type: Single note Main Aroma: Herbaceous sage with warm, woody cedar undertones Fragrance Strength: Moderate to strong, providing a subtle but noticeable throw" | 50 gm · 100 gm · 500 gm · 1 kg | ₹5,168.40 as 2 × 500 gm | ₹82.69 | ₹103.37 |
| Saffron Cedarwood | "Top: Citrus, Cardamom Middle: Palo Santo, Saffron, Violet Base: Wood, Sandalwood, Smoke and Amber" | 15 gm · 50 gm · 100 gm · 500 gm · 1 kg | ₹5,168.40 as 2 × 500 gm | ₹82.69 | ₹103.37 |
The two pages are a study in contrast. Sage and Cedarwood describes itself as a single note and then publishes a full technical block. Saffron Cedarwood publishes a three-tier pyramid and a paragraph of atmosphere — "grounding and restorative", "wellness-focused candles, wax melts, bath bombs, soaps, scrubs, and lotions", "Infused with natural essential oils (including elemi)" — and no specification at all. Same price, entirely different amount of help.
Now the wider shelf. Cedar or cedarwood appears in the stated notes of a good many in-stock listings without being what they are sold as, and for a range-builder that matters: those are the oils that will sit coherently alongside a cedarwood candle on the same shelf.
| Listing | Where cedar sits, verbatim | Cheapest listed kilo | Oil per candle @ 8% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mint Sandalwood | Heart: "Sandalwood, Cedar, Lavender" | ₹4,999 | ₹79.98 |
| Lemongrass and Lime | Base: "Subtle cedarwood, soft musk - clean, grounded, well-balanced finish" | ₹5,200 | ₹83.20 |
| Pumpkin Spice | Base: "Vanilla Bean, Caramelized Sugar, Cedarwood" | ₹5,310 | ₹84.96 |
| Dark Vanilla Oud | Base: "Warm musk, woody cedar - grounding, enduring, long-lasting warmth" | ₹5,690 | ₹91.04 |
| Royal Oud | Heart: "Oud, Rose, Cedarwood… grounded by the dry woodiness of cedarwood" | ₹6,400 | ₹102.40 |
| Lavish RAF | Heart: "Jasmine, Rose, Orris, Cedarwood" | ₹7,740 | ₹123.84 |
| Santal Noir | Heart: "Creamy Sandalwood, Light Cedar" | ₹9,120 | ₹145.92 |
| Lavender Oud | Heart: "Oud, Orris, Geranium, Cedarwood" | ₹12,000 | ₹192 |
The ₹1,699.20 ladder, at production scale
Both cedarwood-led oils carry the same four prices — and on both, the curve turns the wrong way at the top. The table below converts every listed pack into rupees per kilo. Read down the third column and you will see a ladder that falls steadily until the last rung, where it jumps back up by ₹1,699.20.
| Pack | Listed price | Works out at | 200 g candles at 8% | Oil cost per candle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15 gm (Saffron Cedarwood only) | ₹103.84 | ₹6,922.67 / kg | ≈0 — a smelling sample | ₹110.76 |
| 50 gm | ₹354 | ₹7,080 / kg | 3 | ₹113.28 |
| 100 gm | ₹696.20 | ₹6,962 / kg | 6 | ₹111.39 |
| 500 gm | ₹2,584.20 | ₹5,168.40 / kg | 31 | ₹82.69 |
| 1 kg | ₹6,867.60 | ₹6,867.60 / kg | 62 | ₹109.88 |
The 500 gm pack is not just the best rate on the page — it is roughly a quarter cheaper per gram than every other size, including the 15 gm sample. That is unusual enough to be worth planning around deliberately rather than treating as a quirk. At production scale the arithmetic compounds fast: 5 kg bought as ten 500 gm packs is ₹25,842 against ₹34,338 as five kilos, a difference of ₹8,496. Ten kilos is ₹51,684 against ₹68,676 — ₹16,992. And the 16 kg that a thousand 200 g candles at 8% requires is ₹82,694.40 against ₹1,09,881.60, a difference of ₹27,187.20 for the identical oil, identical weight, identical supplier and identical invoice date.
One documented page, one that isn't
At the same price, documentation is the whole difference. Here is everything the two cedarwood pages state, side by side, quoted exactly.
| Field | Sage and Cedarwood | Saffron Cedarwood |
|---|---|---|
| Scent structure | "Main Aroma: Herbaceous sage with warm, woody cedar undertones" | "Top: Citrus, Cardamom Middle: Palo Santo, Saffron, Violet Base: Wood, Sandalwood, Smoke and Amber" |
| Flash point | "Flashpoint: 190°C" — a measured value | None stated |
| Vanillin / colour | "Vanillin Content: 0% (No risk of discoloration)" | None stated |
| Candle load | "Up to 10% for soy wax"; "Up to 6% for paraffin wax" | None stated |
| Cure | "48–72 hours for soy wax"; "24–48 hours for paraffin wax" | None stated |
| Wax compatibility | "Works well with soy, paraffin, coconut, and blended waxes" | None stated |
| Wick | "Cotton or wooden wicks for a steady burn. Test wick size to suit your container and wax type." | None stated |
| Formats | "Ideal for container candles, pillar candles, and wax melts" | "ideal for crafting wellness-focused candles, wax melts, bath bombs, soaps, scrubs, and lotions" |
The 190°C flash point is one of only eighteen specific values published across CSI's 107 fragrance-oil pages, which makes Sage and Cedarwood one of the best-specified oils in the entire catalogue, not just in the woody family. A flash point is the lowest temperature at which a liquid gives off enough vapour to ignite momentarily in the presence of an ignition source — a handling and storage-conditions number, not a measure of strength and not a quality ranking. It is useful here because it sits comfortably above every soy pour and add temperature you will ever use, which removes one variable from a production process. Where a page states none, as Saffron Cedarwood's does, do not borrow a figure from a similar oil. Ask for the SDS on WhatsApp instead.
The "Vanillin Content: 0% (No risk of discoloration)" line is the second reason a white-wax range should default to Sage and Cedarwood. Saffron Cedarwood states nothing about colour, and its base includes smoke and amber — materials that commonly tone pale wax. That is not a warning from the page, because the page gives none; it is a reason to pour a white control jar before you commit twenty 500 gm packs to a season. The method is in which candle fragrances are least likely to discolour white wax.

Each card carries the full listed ladder with the per-kilo figure calculated for every pack and a rough count of 200 g candles at 8%. Look at the per-kilo column before the price column — on the first two cards it will tell you which rung to buy.

Wax, load, wick and the pillar option
Sage and Cedarwood is one of very few oils in the range that states a wax compatibility line, a load for two wax types, a cure for each and a wick family. That makes the pairing exercise unusually straightforward — and it is worth doing properly, because the wax is the other half of a wholesale plan.
| Wax | 1 kg price | Stated fragrance load | Working load with Sage and Cedarwood | Wax needed per 1 kg of oil |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | ₹599 | Up to 13% · 8–13% range · 10% recommended | Up to 10% — the oil's soy figure is binding | 11.5 kg at 8% · 9 kg at 10% |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | ₹507.40 | Up to 10% | Up to 10% — both agree at the ceiling | 11.5 kg at 8% · 9 kg at 10% |
| Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 | ₹650 | Up to 13% · melt 50–53°C · pour 58–60°C | Up to 10% — the oil's soy figure again | 11.5 kg at 8% · 9 kg at 10% |
| Soy Pillar Wax | ₹600 | None stated | Start at 6% and burn-test — the oil states pillars as a suitable format | 15.7 kg at 6% |
The pillar line is genuinely useful. Sage and Cedarwood's page names "container candles, pillar candles, and wax melts" as its formats, which is rarer than it sounds — most fragrance pages in the range talk only about containers. Soy Pillar Wax at ₹600 a kilo states no fragrance load of its own, so the sensible working figure is the conservative one: pour a pillar at 6%, burn-test it, and only raise the load if the burn is clean. At 6% a kilo of oil covers about 83 × 200 g pillars against 62 containers at 8%, so the oil budget per unit falls by roughly a quarter when you move a design to pillars.
Sizing a wholesale cedarwood order
With only two cedarwood-led listings and an identical price on both, the decision here is less about which oil and more about how much, in what packs, and against what evidence. The sequence below costs under ₹2,000 to run and answers all three.
One last piece of scale arithmetic. A thousand 200 g candles at 8% needs 16 kg of oil and about 184 kg of wax. In cedarwood bought correctly that oil is ₹82,694.40; the wax, in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹507.40 a kilo, is about ₹93,361.60 for 184 kg. The oil and the wax are, for once, roughly the same size of line — which is unusual in the woody family and is a direct consequence of that 500 gm rate. The full production arithmetic sits in bulk woody fragrance oils for candle manufacturers.
How to verify before the packs land
"Strong", "premium" and "long-lasting" are the words that get typed into a search box before a wholesale order. None of them is measured anywhere on these pages, and this guide will not pretend otherwise. What can be checked falls into two groups: fields the page publishes, and things only your own jar can answer.
| Check | Where the answer comes from | On the cedarwood shelf specifically | If it's missing |
|---|---|---|---|
| What is over the cedar | The stated top note or main aroma | Sage on one, citrus and cardamom on the other — very different candles at the same price | Nothing missing; both publish it |
| Candle load | The page's stated percentage | Sage and Cedarwood states up to 10% soy and up to 6% paraffin; Saffron Cedarwood states none | Start at the low end of your wax's band and raise in 1% steps |
| Colour behaviour | A stated vanillin or discolouration line | Sage and Cedarwood states 0% vanillin and no discolouration risk; Saffron Cedarwood is silent | Pour a white control jar; photograph at day 7, 14 and 30 |
| Flash point | A measured value in °C | 190°C on Sage and Cedarwood — one of only 18 specific values in the catalogue. None on Saffron Cedarwood | Ask for the SDS on WhatsApp; never borrow another oil's figure |
Neither cedarwood listing carries a published review at the time of writing, which is worth saying plainly rather than working around. Reviews are useful evidence — a real buyer, a real pour, a real result — but their absence is not evidence of anything either way, and it does mean the cedarwood decision has to rest on the published specification and on your own eighteen test jars. That is not a bad place for a decision to rest. It is, in fact, where every wholesale decision should end up: on numbers you can read and numbers you generated.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials — we do not make or sell finished candles, and we do not manufacture fragrance oil. A supplier with an interest in bigger tickets would let you buy cedarwood in 1 kg packs and say nothing. We would rather tell you that two 500 gm packs cost ₹1,699.20 less for the same kilo, because a candle business that gets its input costs right is a business that keeps ordering.
Every price, pack size and quotation here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where the current price always takes precedence. Stated notes, loads, cures, flash points and vanillin figures are quoted verbatim; where a page states nothing — and Saffron Cedarwood's page states none of those four — this guide says so instead of filling the gap from a similar oil. Per-candle and per-run figures are our arithmetic, shown in full, on the convention that a 200 g candle at 8% is 184 g of wax plus 16 g of oil.

Figures verified September 2026: Sage and Cedarwood Fragrance Oil — 50 gm ₹354, 100 gm ₹696.20, 500 gm ₹2,584.20, 1 kg ₹6,867.60. Saffron Cedarwood — 15 gm ₹103.84, 50 gm ₹354, 100 gm ₹696.20, 500 gm ₹2,584.20, 1 kg ₹6,867.60. Lemongrass and Lime — 15 gm ₹116.52, 50 gm ₹330, 100 gm ₹590, 500 gm ₹2,600, 1000 gm ₹5,200. Other cedar-carrying listings priced at their cheapest listed kilo: Mint Sandalwood ₹4,999, Pumpkin Spice ₹5,310, Dark Vanilla Oud ₹5,690, Royal Oud ₹6,400, Lavish RAF ₹7,740, Santal Noir ₹9,120, Lavender Oud ₹12,000; Regal Royal Oud also names cedarwood but is sold out in all three sizes and is therefore not linked. Waxes: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 1 kg ₹599, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 1 kg ₹507.40 and 5 kg ₹2,537, Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 1 kg ₹650, Soy Pillar Wax 1 kg ₹600. Wicks: Eco Candle Wicks from ₹59 for 10, Performance Wooden Wicks from ₹590 for 10. Stated specifications are quoted verbatim in the tables above; Sage and Cedarwood is the only one of the two cedarwood listings that states a flash point ("Flashpoint: 190°C"), a vanillin content ("0% (No risk of discoloration)"), a load ("Up to 10% for soy wax", "Up to 6% for paraffin wax") or a cure ("48–72 hours for soy wax", "24–48 hours for paraffin wax"). Only 18 of CSI's 107 fragrance-oil pages state a specific flash point. Neither cedarwood page mentions IFRA, and no page in the range states an IFRA certificate, amendment or category number; no page states a shelf life, storage instruction, lab result or throw measurement, and none is claimed here. Wax loads are formulation limits stated by the wax pages, not regulatory limits. Candle maths assumes fragrance load as a percentage of finished candle weight (200 g at 8% = 184 g wax + 16 g oil; at 10% = 180 g wax + 20 g oil; at 6% = 188 g wax + 12 g oil); 1 kg ÷ 16 g = 62 candles rounded down and 1 kg ÷ 12 g = 83 at 6%; 1,000 candles at 8% = 16 kg oil and 184 kg wax, costed at ₹507.40/kg for CSI 464. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
