Fresh Candle Fragrance Oils Wholesale in India

Is the kilo always the cheapest gram? No. On four of the ten fresh oils in stock a smaller listed pack carries a lower price per gram. The one that matters is Sage and Cedarwood: ₹5.17 a gram at 500 g against ₹6.87 at 1 kg, so two 500 g packs cost ₹1,699.20 less than one kilo for the same 1,000 g.
How much oil does a production run need? A 200 g candle at 8% takes 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax, so 100 candles need 1.6 kg, 500 need 8 kg and 1,000 need 16 kg — eight and sixteen 1 kg bottles.
Can I order more than a kilo? Yes, as multiple 1 kg bottles at the listed rate. CSI does not list a 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance pack, so the listed per-kilo price is the ceiling for a larger quantity, not a discount you can assume. Recurring volumes are quoted on WhatsApp.
The ten fresh oils in stock, priced
"Fresh" is a customer's word before it is a catalogue's, so the first job is deciding what belongs in the family. The test used here is the product page's own: an oil counts as fresh if its page states a scent family containing the word "Fresh" — "Fresh / Herbal / Spa", "Aquatic / Floral / Fresh", "Fresh Icy Aquatic", "Fruity-Fresh / Clean" — or, where a page states no family, if its published pyramid is built on green, watery or mint notes. That gives ten in-stock oils and one listed but sold out in every size. Citrus-led oils are excluded on purpose: they are bought, priced and costed as citrus, and have their own wholesale page in citrus candle fragrance oils wholesale in India.
Per-gram figures below use the cheapest listed pack that is actually in stock, which is not always the largest — that is the point of the next section. The per-candle column follows the series convention: a 200 g finished candle at 8% is 184 g of wax plus 16 g of oil. Where a page states its percentage as a share "of total wax weight" instead, the gram figures shift slightly; pick one convention and keep it.
| Oil | What the page states it is | Stated candle load | Cheapest in-stock gram | 16 g @ 8% | 1 kg pack |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eucalyptus Spearmint | "Scent Family Fresh / Herbal / Spa" | "Up to 10% for soy wax" · "Up to 6% for paraffin" | ₹3.07 (1 kg) | ₹49.09 | ₹3,068 |
| Cucumber Green Tea | No family stated; pyramid opens "Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves" | "8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax" | ₹3.33 (500 gm and 1 kg) | ₹53.24 | ₹3,327.60 |
| Pomegranate Splash | "Scent family Fruity-Fresh / Clean" | "Recommended load - candles 8-10% soy wax" | ₹3.99 (100 g) | ₹63.84 | ₹3,999 |
| Blue Ocean | "Scent Family Aquatic / Floral / Fresh" | "Up to 10% for soy, paraffin, and natural wax blends" | ₹4.94 (50 gm) | ₹79.04 | ₹4,956 |
| Mint Sandalwood | "Scent family Fresh Woody (Aromatic Woody)" | "Recommended load - candles 7-10% (start at 7%)" | ₹5.00 (1 kg) | ₹79.98 | ₹4,999 |
| Sage and Cedarwood | Single note; "for customers who love fresh, woody, and herbal aromas" | "Up to 10% for soy wax" · "Up to 6% for paraffin wax" | ₹5.17 (500 gm) | ₹82.69 | ₹6,867.60 |
| Retailer-inspired woody-aromatic | "Scent family Woody-Aromatic / Masculine-Fresh" | "Recommended load - candles 7-9% soy wax (strong throw at lower loads)" | ₹8.80 (every pack) | ₹140.80 | ₹8,800 |
| Designer-inspired icy marine | "Scent family Fresh Icy Aquatic (Aquatic Woody)" | "Recommended load - candles 7-10% (start at 7%)" | ₹9.08 (every pack) | ₹145.28 | ₹9,080 |
| Retailer-inspired aquatic-woody | "Scent family Aquatic-Woody / Fresh" | "Recommended load - candles 8-10% soy wax" | ₹11.90 (100 g — the only pack in stock) | ₹190.40 | Listed at ₹11,220, sold out |
| Designer-inspired aquatic-fruity | "Scent family Fresh Aquatic-Fruity Woody" | "Recommended load - candles 7-10% (start at 7%)" | ₹16.52 (50 g) | ₹264.32 | ₹16,528 |
Two structural facts fall out of that table, and they should shape the order rather than the shortlist. The first is that the family splits cleanly at about ₹8 a gram. Below it sit six candle-grade oils written for wax. Above it sit four fine-fragrance oils written for skin first, which state a candle load as a secondary use — their pages say so plainly, describing themselves as a "Concentrated fine perfume oil designed for extrait and EDP formulations. Not a diluted candle fragrance." Both are legitimate purchases; they are not interchangeable at the same shelf price.
The second is the colour position, which is unusually good here and worth money on a white or frosted vessel. Eucalyptus Spearmint, Blue Ocean and Sage and Cedarwood each state 0% vanillin and no discolouration risk; Pomegranate Splash and the retailer-inspired aquatic-woody oil both state "minimal to no vanillin content" with a musk-and-sugar or cedarwood-and-musk base. The exceptions name their reason: Mint Sandalwood states "Moderate discoloration is possible due to the sandalwood, amber, and woody materials" and the aquatic-fruity oil "Mild to moderate discoloration is possible due to the vanilla, agarwood, and cinnamon content". Cucumber Green Tea says nothing about colour at all, so pour one white test jar before a pale collection goes to photography.
Where the wholesale break really falls
Every wholesale instinct says the biggest pack is the cheapest gram. On CSI's fresh oils that is true six times out of ten and false four times, and the error ranges from trivial to ₹1,699.20. The table prints the listed price per gram at each pack size so you can see the shape of each ladder rather than assume it. Nothing here is a discount: these are the prices published on each product page in September 2026, divided by the grams in the pack.
| Oil | 15 g | 50 g | 100 g | 500 g | 1 kg | Cheapest gram |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eucalyptus Spearmint | ₹4.56 | ₹4.25 | ₹3.54 | ₹3.30 | ₹3.07 | 1 kg — a true ladder, 33% below the sample |
| Cucumber Green Tea | ₹6.21 | ₹3.53 | ₹3.53 | ₹3.33 | ₹3.33 | 500 gm and 1 kg, identical |
| Pomegranate Splash | — | ₹4.98 | ₹3.99 | ₹4.00 | ₹4.00 | 100 g, by ₹0.009 a gram |
| Blue Ocean | ₹6.21 (sold out) | ₹4.94 | ₹4.95 | ₹4.96 | ₹4.96 | 50 gm, by ₹0.016 a gram |
| Mint Sandalwood | — | ₹5.98 | ₹5.49 | — | ₹5.00 | 1 kg |
| Sage and Cedarwood | — | ₹7.08 | ₹6.96 | ₹5.17 | ₹6.87 | 500 gm, by ₹1.70 a gram |
| Retailer-inspired woody-aromatic | — | ₹8.80 | ₹8.80 | ₹8.80 | ₹8.80 | Flat — choose on handling |
| Designer-inspired icy marine | — | ₹9.08 | ₹9.08 | — | ₹9.08 | Flat — choose on handling |
| Retailer-inspired aquatic-woody | ₹13.27 (sold out) | ₹11.98 (sold out) | ₹11.90 | ₹11.78 (sold out) | ₹11.22 (sold out) | 100 g — the only pack you can buy |
| Designer-inspired aquatic-fruity | — | ₹16.52 | ₹16.53 | — | ₹16.53 | 50 g, by ₹0.008 a gram |
The other three inversions are rounding, and saying so is more useful than dramatising them. Buying a Blue Ocean kilo as twenty 50 gm bottles would save ₹16 and cost you twenty caps to open and twenty part-bottles to track; Pomegranate Splash's 100 g saves ₹9 across a kilo and the aquatic-fruity oil's 50 g saves ₹8. Buy those three in the largest pack. The lesson is not "always buy small" — it is that the price per gram is a fact you can check in ten seconds, and four times in ten it will surprise you.
Three fresh oils to buy in volume
Three picks, chosen on what their pages publish and on whether the pack ladder can carry a repeat order. Each table shows every listed pack, its price, its price per kilogram and how many 100 g candles at 8% — 8 g of oil each — the pack pours. A 100 g candle is the format most Indian fresh and spa lines use for gifting sets and second SKUs, and at 8 g of oil even a 15 g sample becomes a real test candle rather than a blotter.
| Size | Price | Per kg | 100 g candles @ 8% |

Costing a 500-candle run
Wholesale pricing only means something inside a production plan, so here is the arithmetic for a run of 500 × 200 g candles at 8%. The oil requirement is fixed by the load, not the scent: 500 × 16 g = 8,000 g. The wax is 500 × 184 g = 92,000 g — nine 10 kg bags plus two 1 kg packs, since CSI lists soy wax in 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg — plus a planning allowance of 3–5% for spills, top-ups and rejects.
| Oil | How you buy 8 kg | Oil bill for 500 candles | Oil per candle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eucalyptus Spearmint | 8 × 1 kg ₹3,068 | ₹24,544 | ₹49.09 |
| Cucumber Green Tea | 8 × 1 kg ₹3,327.60 | ₹26,620.80 | ₹53.24 |
| Pomegranate Splash | 8 × 1 kg ₹3,999 | ₹31,992 | ₹63.98 |
| Blue Ocean | 8 × 1 kg ₹4,956 | ₹39,648 | ₹79.30 |
| Mint Sandalwood | 8 × 1 kg ₹4,999 | ₹39,992 | ₹79.98 |
| Sage and Cedarwood | 16 × 500 gm ₹2,584.20 | ₹41,347.20 | ₹82.69 |
| Sage and Cedarwood | 8 × 1 kg ₹6,867.60 | ₹54,940.80 | ₹109.88 |
| Retailer-inspired woody-aromatic | 8 × 1 kg ₹8,800 | ₹70,400 | ₹140.80 |
| Designer-inspired icy marine | 8 × 1 kg ₹9,080 | ₹72,640 | ₹145.28 |
| Designer-inspired aquatic-fruity | 8 × 1 kg ₹16,528 | ₹1,32,224 | ₹264.45 |
Now put the wax beside it. Ninety-two kilos of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at the listed ₹507.40 a kilo is ₹46,680.80, or ₹93.36 inside each candle. So a 500-candle run in Eucalyptus Spearmint carries ₹71,224.80 of wax and fragrance — ₹142.45 a candle before a wick, jar, label or box; the same run in the aquatic-fruity oil carries ₹1,78,904.80, or ₹357.81 a candle. That is not a quality gradient, and the two belong at different retail prices.
Ordering above one kilo
This is the plainest fact in the guide and the one most often glossed over: 1 kg is the largest fragrance oil pack CSI lists. There is no 5 kg bottle and no 10 kg drum. So a monthly requirement of 8 kg is eight 1 kg bottles at the listed rate, 16 kg is sixteen, and the listed per-kilo price is the ceiling for that quantity, not a rate that improves because the number got bigger. Bulk pricing, GST invoicing and MSDS or IFRA documentation are handled on WhatsApp, so a recurring requirement is worth a message rather than a guess. We will not print what a quote will say.
How to verify a fresh oil before a wholesale order
A wholesale order is the point at which a mistake stops being a bottle and starts being a season. Everything below is checkable before you spend: four things the product page will tell you, and one only your own bench can.
| Check | Where the answer lives | What good looks like in this family | What to do if it is blank |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stated candle load | The oil's product page | "Up to 10% for soy wax" (Eucalyptus Spearmint, Sage and Cedarwood, Blue Ocean); "7-10% (start at 7%)" on the perfume-grade oils | Pour at the bottom of your wax page's band and treat the number as unproven |
| Stated cure window | The oil's product page | "48-72 hours" for soy on six of the ten; the retailer-inspired aquatic-woody page says "48-72 hours minimum" | Use 14–21 days, standard practice for soy containers, and judge nothing before it |
| Measured flash point | The oil's product page, or the SDS on request | Only three fresh oils publish one: 199°C, 190°C and 143°C (290°F) | Ask for the SDS figure on WhatsApp — never borrow a number from a similar scent |
| Colour position | The oil's product page | A stated 0% vanillin, or a named reason for toning (sandalwood, agarwood, vanilla, cinnamon) | Pour one white jar and leave it in daylight for two weeks before the collection is shot |
| Throw in your wax | Your bench, nowhere else | A full melt pool in two to three hours and a room you can smell from the doorway | There is no substitute — this is the check that decides the order |
Two rows deserve a caution. The fresh family publishes exactly three measured flash points — Eucalyptus Spearmint "Flashpoint 199°C", Sage and Cedarwood "Flashpoint: 190°C" and Blue Ocean "Flashpoint 143°C (290°F)". The four perfume-grade oils carry only the shared line "Flash point > 93°C (suitable for alcohol-based products)", which is not a measurement for that oil, and Cucumber Green Tea publishes nothing. Flash point governs safe handling and add temperature, not how strong a candle smells: see what flash point means in candle fragrance oil.
On IFRA: the standards set maximum use levels by product category. Several of these pages refer to IFRA in their own words and the perfume-grade listings publish a maximum-usage table with a candle row, but none publishes a certificate number, amendment or category — so nobody, including us, should tell you a specific document exists for a specific oil. CSI supplies documentation on request through WhatsApp, and asking before a kilo order is normal. The reasoning is in why candle makers should check IFRA documentation.
Stock depth and the reorder risk
The dangerous thing about the fresh family is not its price. It is that the interesting scents have the thinnest ladders. Two oils list every pack in stock, one is down to a single pack, and one is unbuyable in all three of its sizes — though its page is still worth reading, since it states that its patchouli, amber and oakmoss content may cause slight cream-to-amber toning in white or light wax.
| Oil | Packs listed | Packs in stock | What that means for a range decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eucalyptus Spearmint | 5 | 5 | No gap from sample to production — the safest fresh line to build on |
| Cucumber Green Tea | 5 | 5 | Same, at ₹0.26 a gram more — the natural second scent |
| Pomegranate Splash | 4 | 4 | Complete from 50 g up; entry ₹249, no 15 g sample |
| Blue Ocean | 5 | 4 | Only the 15 gm sample is gone; entry 50 gm ₹247 |
| Mint Sandalwood | 3 | 3 | No 500 g listed, so the step to volume is a full kilo |
| Sage and Cedarwood | 4 | 4 | Complete, but buy at 500 gm — the kilo is the dear route |
| Retailer-inspired woody-aromatic | 4 | 4 | Flat ₹8.80 a gram at every pack |
| Designer-inspired icy marine | 3 | 3 | Flat ₹9.08 a gram; 100 g then 1 kg |
| Retailer-inspired aquatic-woody | 5 | 1 | 100 g only; the ₹11,220 kilo is not a price you can pay today |
| Designer-inspired aquatic-fruity | 3 | 3 | At ₹16.52 a gram, a small-jar oil rather than a volume SKU |
| Designer-inspired citrus-marine | 3 | 0 | Sold out in all three sizes — ask on WhatsApp, design around it |
Translate that into a range decision and it is not subtle. A signature scent is a promise printed on a label and repeated to a customer who liked it. A promise you can keep only while one pack size remains in stock is not a range decision. Build the line on the two complete ladders, put the scarce and expensive oils into limited runs and gift sets where a sell-out is a story rather than a crisis, and check availability on WhatsApp before the label order. How many scents a new brand should carry is worked through in how many fragrances a new candle brand should launch with.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies candle-making raw materials; it does not manufacture fragrance oil and does not sell finished candles. The convenient version of this page would push the 1 kg pack on every oil, because kilos are the largest line on our invoice. Instead it tells you that on four of the ten fresh oils a smaller pack is the cheaper gram, that on one of them the kilo costs ₹1,699.20 more for the same thousand grams, and that two of the most interesting scents in the family cannot currently carry a repeat order. A maker who scales a scent that sells keeps buying. A maker who scales a scent that does not, stops.
Every price, pack and stock position comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, which is always authoritative. Every quoted load, cure window, flash point, note and colour statement is verbatim from that product's own page; where a page states nothing, this guide says so rather than filling the gap. No flash point has been estimated or carried across from a similar scent, and the shared "> 93°C" line is shown as the threshold it is. Stated loads are formulation percentages, not regulatory limits, and the lower of the oil page's figure and your wax page's figure is the one to pour.
