The dose per candle is the candle weight times the load, with the load measured as a share of the finished candle. At 150 g and 8%, that is 12 g of oil. The wax is the rest: 138 g. Divide the bottle by the dose and round down. Written out:

Here is the same kilo against other common candle weights, because a lot of makers asking about 150 g are deciding between 150 g and 200 g for a range. The last column applies the same 5% allowance:

Moving from 150 g to 200 g costs 21 candles per kilo. The fragrance per candle rises by a third (12 g to 16 g), and so does the oil cost. The 500 g lavender version works the 200 g case with a full allowance ladder, and the 500 × 150 g order runs the 150 g format in the buying direction.

The coffee oils: same count, different cost

"Coffee fragrance oil" covers several listings at CSI, and they sit at very different price points. On the pull date, three could supply a kilo's worth and one could not. Here they are, costed at 12 g per 150 g candle:

The spread is large: Roasted Coffee's fragrance cost per candle is ₹44.86; Moca Coffee's is ₹134.40, three times as much for the same 12 g. Coffee Vanilla Tobacco sits between them and is a layered profile rather than a straight coffee, so it is a different product decision, not just a price one. CSI publishes no throw measurements for any of these oils, so the price does not tell you which performs better in your wax. Buying the kilo: one pack or several

The single kilo is the cheapest route by ₹42.00 against two 500 g bottles and ₹162.00 against ten 100 g bottles. That gap is real but small, about 4%. Roasted Coffee is not one of the 24 oils in the catalogue where the kilo saves 5% or more. The bigger reasons to buy the kilo are fewer reorders and one lot for the whole run. The reason to buy smaller is that the coffee is still unproven with your customers. The 500 g or 1 kg decision works out which fits your monthly volume, and when kilo buying becomes economical covers the oils where it does save money.

What "150 g" means in a jar

150 g is a weight. Jars are sold by volume, in millilitres, measured to the brim. The two are not the same number, and confusing them is the most common way a candle count goes wrong before the first pour.

Water weighs about 1 g per millilitre. Solid soy wax is lighter: a working approximation is about 0.86–0.90 g of wax per millilitre, which varies with the wax, its temperature and how the top sets. That is a rough conversion for planning, not a CSI specification. Applied to CSI's 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar, a brim-full pour would be very roughly 172–180 g of candle. A 150 g candle therefore sits below the brim, which is where you want it. CSI's Yankee Glass Jar 130 ml would be roughly 112–117 g to the brim, so it cannot hold a 150 g candle at all. Neither jar's fill weight is published. The priced order for the full kilo

Once the count is fixed at 79 candles, buy everything else to that count with the same 5% allowance. The batch you melt and mix is 79 × 150 g × 1.05 = 12,442.5 g: 995.4 g of oil and 11,447.1 g of wax.

Per candle, that is ₹44.86 of oil, ₹82.66 of wax (138 g at ₹599.00 a kilo), ₹5.90 for the wick and ₹29.50 for a Salsa jar at the 50-pack rate: ₹162.92, before labour, packaging, freight and GST. The jar line mixes a 50-pack at ₹29.50 a jar with 5-packs at ₹40.12 a jar; if you will use the spare jars later, a 100-pack at ₹2,950.00 brings every jar to ₹29.50. On the wax, two 5 kg bags (₹5,990.00) are ₹9.00 cheaper than one 10 kg bag (₹5,999.00) if you do not mind the extra bag. Wick size for the Salsa jar is not published; burn-test one before the run.
