"I have been using this melter for about 9 months now and it is simply the best. In terms of melting time, 10 kgs of wax melts in mere 20-30 minutes, the funnel is soo good, the wax is never stuck. I do not have to worry about temperatures at all, since the temperature knob does everything for me. Most of all, this is very very cost effective. Same thing is sold via ToAuto for ₹45,000 and in that too we need to get a step down converter worth ₹12,000 which is the worst thing., as the total investment then would be ₹57,000."

"So I live in a very cold region and it was becoming very difficult for me to maintain the temperature. My temperature would drop within seconds due to which I was not getting a good hot throw. Moreover, it would take me ages to melt the wax. But this mini melter is my saviour. It took me seconds to melt my wax and the wax stays warm for a longer time in the melter so I was finally able to get the desired hot throw. It is totally worth the money and so hassle-free."

CSI Bulk Orders · One 10 kg Melter
Fifty 200 g candles a melt is the arithmetic; about forty-seven is what reaches jars; four whole cycles fit a shift. Here is the cycle, the day, the 20 kg comparison and what a day on the melter consumes, with the page's claims beside our maths.
160–188
200 g candles a day from one 10 kg melter on one 8-hour shift, worked example · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How many 200 g candles can one 10 kg wax melter make per day? In the worked example, 160–188 on one 8-hour shift: four cycles of about 98 minutes, each filling 39–47 candles. On a 10-hour day 200–235; on two shifts 360–423. That is the melter's limit; your people must keep up with it.

Why not 50 a melt, or the page's 80? A full 10 kg of finished mix is 50 candles of 200 g before losses. About 0.3 kg stays in the vessel and 0.2 kg goes on pitchers and spills, so about 9.5 kg reaches jars: 47 candles. "80 candles at a time" works out at 125 g each.

Is 10 kg really 10 kg? The page also says "9.5 liters". By the jar rule of thumb (0.86–0.9 g per ml) that is nearer 8.17–8.55 kg, so until you have weighed one safe full melt in your own unit, plan on the cautious 39 a melt.

Should I buy the 20 kgs unit instead? Not for one 8-hour shift: in the worked example it makes 190 a day against 188, because pour-out time grows with every candle. On long days or two shifts it pulls ahead (570 against 423).
The short answer
Per melt: 50 candles from a full 10 kg before losses; 47 in the working case (9.5 kg reaches jars); 39 in the cautious case (8.5 kg loads until weighed).
Per cycle: melt 50 + add and stir 5 + temperature check 5 + pour-out 28 + refill 10 = 98 minutes (worked example; time yours).
Per day: 4 cycles in an 8-hour shift = 160–188; 5 in 10 hours = 200–235; 9 across two shifts = 360–423. Plan on the cautious figure until you have timed three cycles and weighed a full melt.
Temperature: melt to Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's stated 80–90°C, not the page's 100°C, and check with a thermometer every melt.
One 10 kg melter, one 8-hour shift Worked example: 200 g candles, 8% load, cycle timed at 98 minutes. 0h 1h 2h 3h 4h 5h 6h 7h 8h 47 47 47 47 idle melt 50 add, stir, check 10 pour out 28 refill 10 cold start / clean Bold numbers: candles per melt (working case, 9.5 kg reaches jars). Four melts = 188. Candles a day: 10 kg vs 20 kg unit (working case) 8-hour shift 10 kg: 188 20 kg: 190 10-hour day 10 kg: 235 20 kg: 285 Two shifts 10 kg: 423 20 kg: 570 Pour-out time grows with candles, so the bigger unit fits fewer whole cycles in a short day. All minutes and kg are labelled worked examples: time and weigh your own unit.
Top: a worked-example 8-hour shift on one 10 kg melter. A 20-minute cold start, then four cycles of 98 minutes (melt, add fragrance and stir, check temperature, pour out, refill) and a 30-minute clean-down; the 38 minutes left over cannot hold a fifth cycle. Each melt fills 47 candles of 200 g in the working case, 188 a day. Bottom: candles a day for the 10 kg and 20 kg units on an 8-hour shift, a 10-hour day and two shifts, working case.
Straight answer
I have one 10 kg wax melter — how many 200 g candles can I realistically manufacture per day?
Realistically 160 to 188 a day on one 8-hour shift, in this worked example. A full 10 kg of finished mix is 50 candles of 200 g on paper; after the heel that stays below the tap and the wax lost to pitchers and spills, about 9.5 kg reaches jars, which is 47 candles a melt. A full cycle (melt to your wax page's temperature, add fragrance and stir, check the temperature, pour out, refill) takes about 98 minutes, and four cycles fit between a cold start and the evening clean-down. If you have not yet weighed a full, safe melt in your unit, plan on 39 a melt (8.5 kg loads), because the page's "9.5 liters" may hold less than 10 kg of molten wax. A 10-hour day gives 200–235; two shifts 360–423. Two cautions: the melter only sets the ceiling, so one person doing every station makes nearer 66 a day; and do not run it at the page's 100°C. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states 80–90°C.
One line: about 47 candles a melt, four melts a shift, 160–188 a day, if the hands around the melter keep pace and you melt at your wax's temperature, not the display's maximum.
The one-melter line, priced: the 10 kgs WAX MELTER (₹21,240.00), two Steel Pouring Pitchers Large (₹1,416.00), a Pen Thermometer and Weighing Scale (₹354.00 each) and a 1 litre mini melter as a top-up pot (₹2,360.00) come to ₹25,724.00. All in stock on 7 October 2026.

What one melt really fills

Fifty candles is the arithmetic. Forty-seven is what you pour. Forty is what you plan on until you've weighed it.

The title gives two figures: a 10 kg melter and 200 g candles. Everything else here is a labelled worked example: 8% fragrance on total weight (so 200 g is 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax), Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, and timings you should replace with your own stopwatch.

Candles a melt 47 39 Whole 200 g candles only

The page's figures, side by side. The WAX MELTER page says it can "melt 9.5 liters of candle wax and create 80 candles at a time" and "can melt 10 kg of soy wax in approximately 30 minutes at 100°C". Eighty candles from 10 kg is 125 g each, not 200 g. And 9.5 litres is a volume: candle makers commonly estimate wax at about 0.86–0.9 g per ml when filling jars, which would put 9.5 litres nearer 8.17–8.55 kg. That is a rule of thumb, not a measured figure for this unit or for molten wax, so do not plan on it either. Fill your unit to its safe line, drain it into a weighed container, and use that number. Ask us on WhatsApp for the fill line before you start.

The heel is not lost, unless you change scent
The 0.3 kg below the tap goes into the next melt of the same fragrance, so it costs nothing on a single-scent day. Change scent and it must be drained, labelled and kept for the next run of that scent, or written off. That is why a scent change costs more than its clean-down minutes: ₹142.45 of mix is lost on every melt in this worked example, ₹569.80 a day. Counting wax lost in vessels as real cost is the pitcher-heel post.

The cycle: where the minutes go

The melter's speed is only one line of the cycle. Pour-out is usually the longest.

A cycle runs from loading wax to the vessel being refilled for the next melt. Time all of it, not just the melting. The figures below are a worked example; the page's "approximately 30 minutes at 100°C" is a claim about melting alone, at a temperature above Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's stated 80–90°C pour range, so expect your melt step to take longer at the right setting. One reviewer reports 10 kg melting "in mere 20-30 minutes"; your unit, wax and kitchen temperature decide.

One melt cycle · 10 kg · 200 g candles · worked example
Minutes are labelled worked examples · stir time is judgement except where a wax page states one · pour-out = 47 candles × 0.6 min
Step Minutes What sets it
Melt to the wax page's temperature 50 Load size, setting (80–90°C for CSI 464), starting temperature of the vessel
Add fragrance and stir 5 Judgement for 10 kg; many makers stir longer for big batches
Check temperature with a thermometer 5 The display claims ±10°C; your jar may have a lower hot-pour limit
Pour out 47 candles 28 Hands and pitchers, not the melter
Refill and restart 10 Weighing the next 9.2 kg of wax and 0.8 kg of oil
Cycle 98 Plus 20 min cold start each morning and 30 min clean-down each evening

Mixing 10 kg so that the first candle and the last carry the same fragrance is its own subject: the 10 kg mixing post. Moving from small pots to a 10 kg melter is also a process change even with identical materials, so run your first full melts as a check, not as client stock: the bigger-melter revalidation post.

Mistake: setting the melter to 100°C because the page mentions it. Why it matters: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's page states "Pour Temperature 80°C – 90°C", and a display with "±10°C deviation" set to 100°C could be holding wax above that for the whole day. Long holds at high temperature can drive off lighter top notes, and a fresh, light oil like eucalyptus is the kind you notice first. Fix: set to your wax page's figure, read a thermometer every melt, and if your jar states a hot-pour limit (the 150 g Clear Glass Jar says 85°C), pour at the lower of the two.

From melts to candles a day

Cycles are whole numbers. A cycle that does not fit before clean-down is not a cycle.

Take the minutes the melter can work: the shift less the cold start and the clean-down. Divide by the cycle and round down. Multiply by candles a melt. That is the melter's ceiling for the day.

Capacity table · one 10 kg melter · 200 g candles
Working case 47 a melt · cautious case 39 a melt · cycle 98 min · cold start 20 min · clean-down 30 min · all labelled worked examples
Day Melter minutes Whole cycles Candles (cautious) Candles (working) Hands needed
One 8-hour shift 430 4 160 188 2–3 people
A 10-hour day 550 5 200 235 3 people, short bursts only
Two 8-hour shifts 910 9 360 423 two crews

Why "hands needed"? The melter pours 188 candles in a day only if those jars are cleaned, warmed and wicked before each melt is ready, and if someone labels, lids and packs them once they have set. One person doing every station runs at about 66 a day in the 1,000-in-21-days hub's worked example, so a single maker with this melter is labour-limited long before the melter is. Where the real bottleneck sits across every station, racks included, is the maximum-capacity post.

The decision rule. Quote from the cautious 8-hour figure, 160 a day, until you have done two things: timed three full cycles and weighed one full melt from your own unit. Then move to your measured figure. Use the 10-hour day only to recover a lost day, not to plan a week. If an order needs more than one shift's cautious figure every day, the answer is a second shift, a second unit, or a later date.

1
Weigh one full meltFill to the unit's safe line with your wax, melt, drain into a weighed container. That is your real load. Never fill past the line to "get 10 kg in".
2
Weigh the heel and the lossesWeigh what stays below the tap after a normal pour-out, and the pitcher film and spills over a day. Usable kg = load − heel − losses.
3
Time three full cyclesLoad to refilled, at your wax page's temperature, with the people who will pour. Use the slowest of the three.
4
Count whole cycles per shift(Shift − cold start − clean-down) ÷ cycle, rounded down. Multiply by candles a melt.
5
Check the hands keep upJars prepped before each melt is ready, pourers for the pour-out, and labelling and packing behind them. If not, the melter idles.
6
Quote from the measured figureCount production days, not calendar days, and keep the 72-hour set before lidding. Batch counts for a whole order are the 5,000-in-30-days batch post; kilograms per day for a deadline are the 1,000-in-15-days post.

The 20 kgs unit: when it pays

Twice the melt is not twice the candles if pouring is half your cycle.

The same method on the 20 kgs unit, with labelled worked-example figures: a full 20 kg is 100 candles on paper; with a 0.6 kg heel and 0.4 kg losses about 95 reach jars; the cycle (melt 70, stir 8, check 5, pour out 57, refill 10) is about 150 minutes. The page's 20 kg melt-time line is unclear, so we do not quote it.

10 kgs vs 20 kgs · candles a day · working case
Same cold start, clean-down and pour speed per candle · worked examples · ₹21,240.00 vs ₹25,960.00
Day 10 kgs: cycles × 47 20 kgs: cycles × 95 Difference
8-hour shift 4 × 47 = 188 2 × 95 = 190 2 candles
10-hour day 5 × 47 = 235 3 × 95 = 285 50 candles
Two shifts 9 × 47 = 423 6 × 95 = 570 147 candles

On one 8-hour shift the bigger unit adds almost nothing here: pour-out takes the same time per candle, so a 20 kg cycle is long and only two fit. On long days and double shifts it pulls clearly ahead, and it halves the number of weigh-outs and temperature checks. Argued against our own interest: if you work one shift, buy the ₹21,240.00 unit and spend the ₹4,720.00 difference on a second pitcher and a helper's hours. If you plan two shifts, or a second 10 kg unit, compare those two options with your own timings, not ours.

What a day on the melter consumes

Four melts a day is 36.8 kg of wax and 3.2 kg of oil. Every day.

Each 10 kg melt at 8% takes 9.2 kg of wax and 0.8 kg of oil: ₹4,668.08 of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and ₹2,454.40 of Eucalyptus Spearmint at 1 kg prices, ₹7,122.48 a melt. To show what a week at the melter's pace looks like, take a worked-example order of 1,000 × 200 g: 1,050 to pour (10 extras and a 4% loss buffer), 23 melts at 47 a melt, about 5.75 production days at four melts a day.

That is wax and oil only, and it excludes jars, wicks, labour, freight, packaging and GST. Wicks and jars follow the candle count (1,050 poured plus a piece buffer); the full order sheet is in the hub post. Two pack notes: CSI 464 is the same price per kilo from 1 kg to 10 kg, so buy to the kilo; and on Eucalyptus Spearmint the 1 kg is cheaper per gram than the 500 g, but 17 kg + 500 g (₹53,808.00) still beats 18 × 1 kg (₹55,224.00) by ₹1,416.00 because you only need 192 g past 17 kg. Confirm stock and lots for a week's draw on WhatsApp before you promise a date.

Mistake: pouring top-ups from the big melter. Why it fails: soy commonly shrinks or sinks as it sets, so many makers pour short and top up later; doing that from the 10 kg unit holds it hot and half-full when it should be on its next cycle. Fix: pour 196 g, hold back 4 g a candle (188 g a melt) in the 1 litre mini melter labelled with the melt number, and top up from that. The big melter goes straight into its next cycle.
This page is for you if you own, or are about to buy, one 10 kg melter and need an honest candles-a-day figure for 200 g candles. It is not the whole answer if your bottleneck is people, racks or packing: the melter only sets the ceiling. Measure before you promise: one weighed full melt and three timed cycles turn this worked example into your number.

What to buy around one melter

Six items, chosen on page statements, price and stock on 7 October 2026. CSI publishes no measured melt or throughput data for any of them, so every figure here is either the page's wording or labelled arithmetic. Each card says when not to buy.

WAX MELTER FOR CANDLE MAKING | Electric Wax Melter (Imported)
What the page states, attributed: it can "melt 9.5 liters of candle wax and create 80 candles at a time", "can melt 10 kg of soy wax in approximately 30 minutes at 100°C", and the display "ranges from 60°C to 100°C" with "±10°C deviation". Our arithmetic: 10 kg of finished mix is 50 candles of 200 g before losses; 80 candles means 125 g each. In the worked example 47 reach jars per melt and four cycles fit an 8-hour shift: 188 a day. Argued against our own interest: on one 8-hour shift the 20 kgs unit makes about the same (190) because pouring 95 candles takes as long per candle as pouring 47 and fewer whole cycles fit. It pays only on long days or two shifts.

Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes Form) For Container Candles
The worked example's wax. The page states "Pour Temperature 80°C – 90°C" (it also lists "Melting Point 80°C – 90°C"; we quote it as written) and "Fragrance Load Up to 10%", and claims "excellent glass adhesion" and "Low frosting, minimal blooming". Set the melter inside 80–90°C, not at 100°C, and confirm with a thermometer, because the display may sit up to 10°C off. A 10 kg melt at 8% takes 9.2 kg of wax, so one 10 kg bag is roughly one melt. Argued against our own interest: the price is the same per kilo from 1 kg to 10 kg, so the 10 kg bag saves you nothing; buy it for handling, not price.

equipment · the top-up pot that frees the big melter
[1 Year Warranty] Mini Electric Wax/Soap Melter (1 litre capacity)
Soy shrinks as it sets, so many makers pour a little short and top up later. Doing that from the 10 kg melter ties it up. Hold back about 4 g a candle (188 g a melt) in this 1 litre pot instead, and the big melter goes straight into its next cycle. The page describes "1 litre capacity" and "dual power modes (300W and 600W)", and says "Gear II (600W) reaches up to 100-120°C", which is above every CSI wax page's figure, so hold top-up wax on the low setting and check it with the thermometer. Limitation: top-up wax must be the same scented batch as the candles it tops up; label the pot by melt.

Skip: the 20 kgs unit if you work one shift, a second melter before your people can keep up with the first, and 1 kg of any oil you have not burn-tested in your jar. Argued against our own interest: the cheapest way to more candles a day from one melter is usually a second pair of hands at pour-out, not more equipment from us.

Diwali is 8 November 2026, 32 days from 7 October 2026. If a Diwali order depends on one melter, time three cycles and weigh a full melt this week, then quote from that figure. Send us your wax and oil quantities on WhatsApp and we will confirm stock, lot and dispatch, with a GST invoice; we cannot promise depth for a season's draw in advance.

The CSI principle
A melter's capacity is whole cycles times the candles that actually reach jars, at your wax's temperature.
For one 10 kg unit and 200 g candles that is 160–188 a day on one shift in the worked example. Weigh one full melt, time three cycles, and replace our numbers with yours before you promise a client anything.
"Ten kilos on the label is a ceiling. Forty-seven candles in the jars is a plan."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the melters, thermometer, pitchers, wax and oil named here, and does not sell finished candles. This page still tells you that our melter's "80 candles" are not 200 g candles, that its "9.5 liters" may hold less than its "10 kg", that our dearer 20 kg unit adds almost nothing on one shift, that our 10 kg wax bag saves nothing per kilo, and that a helper beats more equipment.

Every CSI price was checked on the live store on 7 October 2026, and stock was checked per size: every item priced here is in stock on that date except the small Steel Pouring Pitcher, which is marked out of stock. Melter wording ("80 candles", "30 minutes at 100°C", "60°C to 100°C", "±10°C deviation") is quoted as written, with our arithmetic beside it.

The cycle minutes, heel, losses, cautious load, top-up grams, shift lengths, the 20 kg cycle, the 1,000-candle week and its buffers are labelled worked examples for you to replace; the 0.86–0.9 g per ml factor is a rule of thumb. This is practical judgement, not a manufacturer's specification. Frequently asked questions

How many candles can a 10 kg wax melter make?
At 200 g, a full 10 kg of finished mix is 50 candles before losses. In the worked example about 9.5 kg reaches jars, so 47 candles a melt, and four melts fit an 8-hour shift: 188 a day (160 if you plan cautiously on 8.5 kg loads). CSI's page says "80 candles at a time", which works out at 125 g each.
How long does it take to melt 10 kg of soy wax in an electric melter?
CSI's melter page says "approximately 30 minutes at 100°C", and one reviewer reports 20–30 minutes. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states an 80–90°C pour range, so at the right setting expect longer, and time it in your own unit. Melting is only part of the cycle: with fragrance, stirring, pour-out and refilling, the worked example takes 98 minutes.
What temperature should I set my wax melter to for soy candles?
Your wax page's figure, not the melter's maximum. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states "Pour Temperature 80°C – 90°C"; Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 states 58–60°C. CSI's melter display claims "±10°C deviation", so check the wax with a thermometer every melt, and if your jar states a hot-pour limit, use the lower of the two.
Is a 20 kg wax melter better than a 10 kg one for production?
Only if you run long days or two shifts. In the worked example pouring takes the same time per candle on either unit, so on one 8-hour shift the 20 kg makes 190 a day against 188; across two shifts it makes 570 against 423. It costs ₹4,720.00 more.
How much wax and fragrance oil does one 10 kg melt use?
At 8% fragrance on total weight, 9.2 kg of wax and 0.8 kg of oil. With Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and Eucalyptus Spearmint at 1 kg prices that is ₹7,122.48 a melt. Four melts a day is 36.8 kg of wax and 3.2 kg of oil.
Can one person run a 10 kg wax melter at full capacity?
Rarely. The melter can fill 188 candles in a shift in the worked example, but someone has to prep jars before each melt, pour, top up, label and pack. One person doing every station manages about 66 a day in our 1,000-candle worked example, so a solo maker is limited by hands, not by the melter.
One 10 kg melter · 200 g candles
Weigh one full melt, time three cycles, count whole cycles, and quote from that.
47 candles a melt and 160–188 a day on one shift in the worked example, at Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's 80–90°C. Ask us the safe fill line and confirm wax and oil for your week before you promise a date.

About this guide: part of CSI's cluster "Can I actually accept this order?" (6301–6320) in the series on bulk corporate and wedding candle orders × raw materials. It covers the melter maths for one 10 kg wax melter and 200 g candles: what a melt fills after heel and losses, the full cycle, whole cycles per shift, candles a day by shift pattern, the 20 kgs comparison, and what a day at the melter's pace consumes.

Non-price figures: the 10 kg melter and 200 g candles are the reader's figures (title). The 8% load is the series default; load is a percentage of total candle weight (200 g at 8% = 16 g oil + 184 g wax). The 0.3 kg heel, 0.2 kg losses per melt, 8.5 kg cautious load, cycle steps (50/5/5/28/10 min), 20-minute cold start, 30-minute clean-down, 0.6 minutes a candle to pour, the 20 kg unit's heel, losses and cycle, the 4 g top-up, and the 1,000-candle week with 10 extras and 4% rejects are labelled worked examples; the 0.86–0.9 g per ml factor is a rule of thumb, not a density for any CSI wax. The one-person figure of 66 a day is the worked example in post 6301. Melter wording is the product page's. Costs are wax and oil only and exclude jars, wicks, labour, freight, packaging and GST. Diwali 8 November 2026 is a calendar fact.
