Lavender Fragrance Oil 1 Kg Wholesale Price in India
Aktie
Is there a bulk discount above 1 kg? No published one. CSI lists no slab, no trade tier, no minimum order quantity and no credit term. 1 kg is also the largest fragrance-oil pack in the catalogue — 5 kg is five 1 kg bottles at 5 × ₹5,221 = ₹26,105.
Does the kilogram save money over two 500 g packs? By ₹19. Two 500 g packs are ₹5,240; the kilogram is ₹5,221. That is a 0.36% difference — about ₹0.30 per 200 g candle. The kilogram is a convenience, not a volume rate.
So what actually cuts my cost? The fragrance load, the vessel and the wax — in that order of size, and each of them moves more money per candle than any pack-size step. The arithmetic is in the levers section.
The whole ladder, and why there is only one
"Wholesale price" normally implies two price lists: a retail one on the website and a trade one you are given after an email and a GST certificate. Plenty of Indian fragrance suppliers work that way. CSI does not. There is one ladder, published on the product page, and a buyer taking one kilogram pays the same ₹5,221 as a buyer taking their first. Here it is in full, with the per-gram figure at every rung.
| Pack | Price | Per gram | 200g candles @ 8% | Against the kilogram rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15 g | ₹105.02 | ₹7.001 | ≈1 | 34.1% dearer per gram — this is a sample size |
| 50 g | ₹270.00 | ₹5.400 | ≈3 | 3.4% dearer per gram |
| 100 g | ₹540.00 | ₹5.400 | ≈6 | 3.4% dearer — identical per gram to the 50 g |
| 500 g | ₹2,620.00 | ₹5.240 | ≈31 | 0.36% dearer per gram |
| 1 kg | ₹5,221.00 | ₹5.221 | ≈62 | The cheapest published per-gram rate. This is the floor |
Read the fourth and fifth rows together, because that comparison is the whole argument. Two 500 g packs cost ₹5,240. One kilogram costs ₹5,221. The kilogram saves ₹19 — 0.36%. Spread across the 62 candles a kilogram pours at 8% in a 200 g jar, that is about ₹0.30 per candle. Thirty paise. The jump from 500 g to 1 kg is not a volume tier; it is a convenience, so you handle one bottle instead of two. We are saying so on the page that sells the kilogram, because a maker who buys it believing they have secured a trade rate stops trusting anything else we publish.
Above 1 kg: there is no pack, only multiples
Across all 92 oils the variant ladder stops at 1 kg. There is no 2 kg, 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance-oil pack in the catalogue, so a 5 kg lavender order is five 1 kg bottles: 5 × ₹5,221 = ₹26,105. Ten kilograms is 10 × ₹5,221 = ₹52,210, as ten separate bottles. The cart does not reduce the rate as quantity climbs. What you can do is send us the requirement on WhatsApp — volume, delivery pattern, timeline — and ask for a quote. That is a conversation, not a rate card, and nothing here should be read as a promise that the quoted number differs from ₹5,221. Cost on the published figure.
What a 200 g lavender candle actually costs to make
Here is the part most "wholesale price" pages never reach. You are not buying fragrance oil; you are building a candle, and the oil is one line in a bill of five. Until you can see all five lines with real numbers against them, you cannot judge whether hunting a fragrance discount is worth the hour. Below is a complete 200 g soy container candle at an 8% load, priced from live CSI stock in September 2026.
| Line | Product and rate | Quantity | Cost | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wax | Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg (1 kg) | 184 g | ₹93.36 | 42.8% |
| Fragrance | Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.221/g (1 kg) | 16 g | ₹83.54 | 38.3% |
| Vessel | 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar at ₹2,950 / 100 pcs | 1 | ₹29.50 | 13.5% |
| Wick | Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) at ₹944 / 100 | 1 | ₹9.44 | 4.3% |
| Wick sticker | Candle Wick Stickers at ₹100 / 40 | 1 | ₹2.50 | 1.1% |
| Total materials | Excludes labour, packaging, shipping and GST | 200 g finished | ₹218.34 | 100% |
Two things fall out of that table immediately. First, lavender is not the largest line — the wax is, at ₹93.36 against ₹83.54. Second, the oil is 38.3% of materials, which means a hypothetical 5% fragrance discount you might have come here to negotiate would be worth ₹4.18 on a ₹218.34 candle: 1.9%. Compare that with the ₹19 the kilogram genuinely saves you across 62 candles and you can see why the hunt for a trade rate is usually the least profitable hour a candle maker spends. Add a candle care sticker at ₹0.83 and the total is ₹219.17; outer packaging, labour and shipping sit on top of that and are yours to add.
The three levers that move real money, ranked
If the objective behind "wholesale price" is a cheaper candle — and it almost always is — then these are the three decisions that change the number, with the arithmetic shown so you can check it. All three are priced on the same 200 g candle as the bill of materials above, and all three move more money than any pack-size step on the lavender ladder.
| Lever | The swap | Moves per candle | Cost to act |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 — Vessel format | ₹107.00 lidded 150 g jar → ₹29.50 salsa jar | ₹77.50 | Redesign the product. Free, but not trivial |
| 2 — Wax family | ₹920/kg coconut soy → ₹507.40/kg CSI 464 | ₹75.92 | Re-test the wick. One test batch |
| 3 — Fragrance load | 10% → 8%, inside CSI 464's 10% ceiling | ₹18.85 | Free. But burn-test before you ship it |
| 4 — Wax inside soy | ₹507.40/kg CSI 464 → ₹399/kg Eco Soy 400 | ₹19.95 | Re-test the wick. One test batch |
| 5 — Vessel, like for like | ₹107.00 → ₹94.40, same stated 150 g capacity | ₹12.60 | Change the SKU you order. Free |
| 6 — Pack size on the oil | 2 × 500 g (₹5,240) → 1 kg (₹5,221) | ₹0.30 | Free, and already available to you |
Which lever wins depends on what you are willing to change. If the product is designed and selling, the wax is your lever — one test batch, ₹19.95 to ₹75.92 per candle depending how far you move, and the customer never sees it if the wick is re-tested properly. If you are still designing the range, the vessel is your lever: it is the only line where one decision moves ₹77.50, and choosing the right jar now is far cheaper than re-shooting photography later. The load is a real ₹18.85 but it is the one lever with a quality cost attached, so treat it as a formulation decision and verify it on a burn test — method in how much fragrance oil a candle business needs. The pack size, at thirty paise, is not a lever. Take it because it is free, do not plan around it.
Where lavender actually sits in a 92-oil catalogue
A price only means something next to other prices. So here is lavender's ₹5.221 per gram against the cheapest and the dearest oils CSI stocks, plus the two other lavenders, with the fragrance cost of a 200 g candle at 8% for each. Fragrance only — no wax, jar or wick.
| Oil | 1 kg | Per gram | 16 g per candle | Against lavender |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon — cheapest in the catalogue | ₹2,832 | ₹2.832 | ₹45.31 | ₹38.23 cheaper per candle |
| British Rose — joint third cheapest | ₹3,068 | ₹3.068 | ₹49.09 | ₹34.45 cheaper per candle |
| Lavender Fragrance Oil | ₹5,221 | ₹5.221 | ₹83.54 | — |
| Lavender Cranberry Coconut | ₹7,999 | ₹7.999 | ₹127.98 | 1.53× lavender per gram |
| Lavender Oud | ₹12,000 | ₹12.000 | ₹192.00 | 2.30× lavender per gram |
| Club De Nuit Intense inspired — dearest | ₹24,056 | ₹24.056 | ₹384.90 | 4.61× lavender per gram |
Lavender sits in the middle and closer to the cheap end: 1.84× the per-gram cost of the cheapest oil in the catalogue, and less than a quarter of the dearest. Which means, plainly: if the brief is "a scented candle at the lowest possible fragrance cost", lavender is not the answer. Citrus Lemon at ₹2,832/kg is the cheapest oil CSI sells per gram and British Rose at ₹3,068/kg is joint third cheapest — either saves more per candle than any pack-size decision on lavender ever will. Lavender earns its ₹38.23 premium over Citrus Lemon on other grounds: customers recognise it from the label without smelling the jar, it sells year-round rather than seasonally, and it is the scent our own review record is deepest on. Whether that premium pays in your range is a pricing question, not a sourcing one — worked through in how to price candles in India in 2026 and premium versus cheap fragrance oils.
What to ask a supplier at this volume, instead of "what's your wholesale price"
If you are ordering a kilogram at a time, price is the question with the smallest range of possible answers and the smallest effect on your accounts. These five questions have a much larger effect, and every one of them is a cost question disguised as a paperwork question. Ask them of us and of everyone else you are comparing.
| Ask | Why it costs you money if the answer is wrong |
|---|---|
| Is the oil consistent batch to batch? | Your wick, load and cure are tuned to one scent profile. A batch that behaves differently means re-testing the wick, re-checking the throw and possibly scrapping a poured run — a cost measured in whole batches, not rupees per gram. This is the single largest hidden cost in fragrance buying. |
| Will you supply IFRA and MSDS documentation? | You need it for retail listings, marketplace onboarding, corporate and hamper clients, and any export conversation. A supplier who cannot produce it puts a ceiling on which customers you are allowed to sell to, which is a revenue cost rather than a materials one. CSI supplies both on request. |
| Do you invoice with GST? | Without a GST invoice the tax on your inputs is a permanent cost instead of a credit, and your own books stop reconciling. On a ₹5,221 purchase that is real money, and it repeats every order. CSI invoices with GST as standard. |
| Will this exact oil still be listed in three months? | A discontinued oil means a new scent, new photography, new labels and a re-tested recipe — and a product your repeat customers cannot find again. A cheap kilogram of something that vanishes is the most expensive fragrance you can buy. |
| What pack sizes exist, and where does the ladder stop? | This determines whether you can sample before committing and whether you can scale without changing supplier. CSI's lavender ladder is 15 g / 50 g / 100 g / 500 g / 1 kg and it stops there — no pack above 1 kg exists. Knowing that up front stops you planning a purchase order around a drum that is not for sale. |
Which pack size is actually right — and when the kilogram is the wrong purchase
One kilogram of lavender pours 62 candles of 200 g at an 8% load (1,000 g ÷ 16 g = 62.5). At 6% it pours 83; at 10%, exactly 50. Those numbers, not the price, should decide your pack size. A 500 g pack pours about 31 candles at 8%, a 100 g pack about six. The threshold follows: buy the kilogram when you are confident of pouring more than about 62 lavender candles inside your own usable window for the oil. Above that it is the right tier and you also collect the ₹19. Between roughly 31 and 62 candles, two 500 g packs cost ₹19 more and let you buy the second only if the first sells. Below 31, buy 500 g. Below six, buy 100 g at ₹540. The 15 g at ₹105.02 is a sample, priced as one.
And here is the part that argues against our own interest, because it is true. Below that threshold the kilogram is the wrong purchase, and the reason is working capital, not price. Choosing 1 kg over a single 500 g pack ties up ₹2,601 more cash today to save ₹19 — a return of 0.73% on money that could have bought jars, wicks and packaging you also need. A maker with a fixed materials budget this month is usually better off taking 500 g of lavender and putting the other ₹2,601 into a second scent or a hundred jars than holding a kilogram of one oil and running short of everything else. That is the calculation to run, and it has nothing to do with wholesale rates. For a whole month's requirement the model is in how much fragrance oil a candle business needs; the wider sourcing picture is in the complete fragrance-oil buyer's guide.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA sells the kilogram this page is about. The commercially convenient version of this article would have hinted that a trade rate exists and invited you to enquire. Instead we have told you that the kilogram beats two 500 g packs by ₹19, that the whole ladder above 50 g moves 3.3%, and that the cheapest oil in our catalogue is not the one this page sells — because a buyer who costs a product on a discount that does not exist finds out at the worst possible moment, and never orders again.
Every price here is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. Per-gram and per-candle figures are calculated from those listed variant prices and are not themselves prices on the site. The 10% and 13% figures are the wax manufacturers' stated maximum fragrance loads for CSI 464 and Luxury Soy Wax Chunks respectively — formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and not interchangeable between waxes. The 13% figure does not apply to CSI 464.
CSI stocks 92 fragrance oils, invoices with GST, and supplies IFRA and MSDS documentation on request.
