Premium Fragrance Oils for Luxury Soy Candles
Aktie
Which soy wax is best for luxury candles? For load room, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, rated up to 13%, against 10% for CSI 464. A premium oil may peak below 8%, or it may need 10–12%. Chunks let you test that. The wax cost difference is small next to the oil.
How much does a luxury soy candle cost to make? For 200 g at 8% with Santal Noir, Chunks, a cotton braided wick and a White Matte jar: ₹340.06 in materials. The oil is 43.2% of that. It excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST.
Are inspired-by oils worth it in luxury soy? They are the most expensive oils per gram (₹9 to ₹24 at 100 g). At 8% in 200 g, Khamrah Qahwa puts ₹240.96 of oil in the candle. Only worth it if your price and your burn test both support it.
The premium tier, priced per candle
We call "premium" the oils at roughly ₹7 a gram and above at the 100 g size, and "top tier" those above ₹9, mostly inspired-by profiles. The table lists thirteen premium and top-tier oils in stock at 100 g on the pull date, with the smallest size you can test from and the oil cost in a 200 g soy candle at 8%, 10% and 13%. The 13% column applies only to Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, because CSI 464 is rated up to 10%. It shows the most the wax allows, not a recommended load.
| Oil | Profile | Smallest size | ₹/g at 100 g | At 8% (16 g) | At 10% (20 g) | At 13% (26 g, Chunks only) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Raat Ki Rani (Night-Blooming Jasmine) | Indian night floral | 15 g ₹130.00 | ₹7.00 | ₹112.00 | ₹140.00 | ₹182.00 |
| Saffron Cedarwood | Spiced woody | 15 g ₹103.84 | ₹6.96 | ₹111.39 | ₹139.24 | ₹181.01 |
| Vanilla Bean | Vanilla gourmand | 15 g ₹130.00 | ₹7.90 | ₹126.40 | ₹158.00 | ₹205.40 |
| Neroli Signature Grade | Citrus floral | 15 g ₹133.00 | ₹7.99 | ₹127.84 | ₹159.80 | ₹207.74 |
| Jasmine Coconut Spa Ceylon | Spa floral | 15 g ₹133.00 | ₹7.99 | ₹127.84 | ₹159.80 | ₹207.74 |
| Smoked Rose Royale | Smoky rose | 100 g ₹799.00 | ₹7.99 | ₹127.84 | ₹159.80 | ₹207.74 |
| Midnight Bakhoor Royale | Resin, bakhoor | 100 g ₹799.00 | ₹7.99 | ₹127.84 | ₹159.80 | ₹207.74 |
| Sultan's Smoke | Smoky resin | 100 g ₹799.00 | ₹7.99 | ₹127.84 | ₹159.80 | ₹207.74 |
| White Royal Oud | Oud | 15 g ₹130.00 | ₹8.10 | ₹129.60 | ₹162.00 | ₹210.60 |
| Coffee Vanilla Tobacco | Gourmand tobacco | 50 g ₹449.00 | ₹8.99 | ₹143.84 | ₹179.80 | ₹233.74 |
| Santal Noir | Woody, sandal | 15 g ₹166.00 | ₹9.19 | ₹147.04 | ₹183.80 | ₹238.94 |
| Delina (Parfums De Marly Inspired) | Inspired floral | 50 g ₹598.00 | ₹11.95 | ₹191.20 | ₹239.00 | ₹310.70 |
| Khamrah Qahwa | Inspired gourmand | 50 g ₹753.00 | ₹15.06 | ₹240.96 | ₹301.20 | ₹391.56 |
Three buying patterns show up. Most premium oils offer a 15 g tester, which keeps testing cheap. Three of the resinous and smoky oils, Smoked Rose Royale, Midnight Bakhoor Royale and Sultan's Smoke, start at 100 g for ₹799.00, so testing one costs as much as a small production bottle. The inspired profiles start at 50 g. And a few premium oils have odd ladders: Saffron Cedarwood is ₹6.96 a gram at 100 g, ₹5.17 at 500 g and ₹6.87 at 1 kg, so for this one oil the 500 g is the size to produce from.
Inspired-by oils are listed under the store's own names, such as Delina (Parfums De Marly Inspired), and are not the original perfumes. Some luxury buyers want exactly that familiarity. Others want a scent nobody can place. Decide which your brand is before you spend ₹240.96 of oil on a single 200 g candle. The luxury soy build
A premium oil deserves the rest of the candle to match. For soy that means three choices besides the oil: the wax, the wick and the vessel. The wax and wick choices affect how the oil performs. The vessel affects how the candle is perceived. The table compares four builds at 200 g and 8%, all in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and the White Matte Glass Jar, so you can see what each upgrade costs.
| Build | Oil (16 g) | Wax | Wick | Jar | Materials | Oil's share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Everyday soy | British Rose ₹54.75 | ₹110.22 | Eco Thin C1 ₹5.90 | ₹70.80 | ₹241.67 | 22.7% |
| Luxury soy | Santal Noir ₹147.04 | ₹110.22 | Cotton Braided ₹12.00 | ₹70.80 | ₹340.06 | 43.2% |
| Luxury soy, wooden wick | Santal Noir ₹147.04 | ₹110.22 | Performance Wooden Wick ₹59.00 | ₹70.80 | ₹387.06 | 38.0% |
| Top-tier inspired | Khamrah Qahwa ₹240.96 | ₹110.22 | Cotton Braided ₹12.00 | ₹70.80 | ₹433.98 | 55.5% |
Material cost here means oil, wax, wick and jar. It excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST. Moving from British Rose to Santal Noir adds ₹92.29 of oil. Upgrading the wick from Eco Thin C1 to a Cotton Braided Wick adds ₹6.10. A Performance Wooden Wick (₹590.00 for 10) adds ₹53.10 over the Eco wick and brings the crackle and look some luxury buyers expect. Wick sizing for a given jar diameter is not published in our data, so whichever wick you choose, confirm it with a burn test.
Why Chunks rather than CSI 464? Not because of price: the 184 g of wax costs ₹110.22 in Chunks and ₹93.36 in CSI 464, a gap of ₹16.85. The reason is load room. Premium oils are the ones you most need to tune. Some peak at 7%, and some may keep improving to 10% or beyond. With Chunks rated up to 13% you can test that. With CSI 464, 10% is the ceiling. If your tested load turns out to be 8% or less, CSI 464 is a perfectly good luxury wax.
Pricing a luxury candle around its oil
A useful habit is to price from the fragrance share. In the everyday build, British Rose is 22.7% of materials. In the luxury build, Santal Noir is 43.2%. With Khamrah Qahwa it is 55.5%. The same markup on materials gives three very different candles. If your luxury candle sells at only a small premium over your everyday one, a premium oil can quietly consume your margin. Work out your selling price from the full material cost, plus labour, packaging, freight and GST, and check it against what your market pays for a luxury soy candle.
There is also a range-level answer. Not every scent in a luxury range needs a ₹9-a-gram oil. A range of five might carry one top-tier hero, two premium oils and two core-tier oils presented in the same vessel. The customer judges the range by the hero and the vessel. Your margin is judged across all five. The soy hub covers tiers across a whole range, and Best Fragrance Oils for Luxury Candle Making looks at luxury oils across candle types.
Testing premium oils without wasting them
Premium oils make testing expensive, so plan the test before you buy. The walkthrough below gets the most from each tester.
A 36-candle luxury launch
Here is a small luxury soy launch: three scents, twelve candles each, 200 g at 8% in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, cotton braided wicks, White Matte Glass Jars. Each scent needs 192 g of oil, so two 100 g bottles per scent leave 8 g, a 4.2% allowance within the 3–5% planning range. The wax need is 6,624 g, about 6.9 kg with the allowance, so one 5 kg bag plus two 1 kg bags.
| Scent | ₹/g at 100 g | Oil per candle | Material cost per candle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Santal Noir | ₹9.19 | ₹147.04 | ₹340.06 |
| Raat Ki Rani (Night-Blooming Jasmine) | ₹7.00 | ₹112.00 | ₹305.02 |
| Smoked Rose Royale | ₹7.99 | ₹127.84 | ₹320.86 |
The three scents span ₹35.04 of oil per candle, so price Santal Noir a step above the other two or accept a thinner margin on it. All three offer sizes up to 1 kg, so any of them can scale if it sells, though none of the three saves 5% or more at 1 kg (Raat Ki Rani comes closest at 3.2%).

| Total | ₹12,461.00 | 36 candles · ₹346.14 each |
Oil is ₹4,836.00 of the ₹12,461.00. That is the right shape for a luxury launch: most of the spend is in the thing the customer is paying for. Carry-over: 8 g of each oil, four jars, fourteen wicks and a few hundred grams of Chunks for a retained reference candle from each scent, which is worth keeping so you can check future batches.
For a supplier checklist before you commit a brand to one source, read where to buy professional oils for soy. For hot-throw testing of complex profiles, see Which Fragrance Oils Give the Best Hot Throw in Soy Wax?. If your luxury range will also include coconut soy, Luxury Fragrance Oils for Coconut Soy Wax Candles covers that wax.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A luxury page is where a supplier most wants to sell its dearest oils. This one argues that many luxury soy brands do better with premium rather than top-tier oils, and it makes no throw claims we could not support.
Every oil and wax price on this page comes from CSI live listings pulled on 24 September 2026. Jar and cotton-wick prices were verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026, and the wooden wick and velvet jar prices come from the 24–25 September pull. Per-candle and basket figures are arithmetic on those prices, shown to two decimals so you can check them.
Load ceilings (Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13%, CSI 464 up to 10%) are the wax makers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits. Cure and character notes are general candle-making practice, not CSI measurements. Inspired-by oils carry the store's own titles and are not the original perfumes.
