CSI Troubleshooting · Weak Hot Throw
Five CSI oils for soy candles, ranked on what their product pages state and what they cost, with the rule shown so you can check it. No throw scores: CSI has not measured throw, and neither has anyone else in your jar.
₹1,265.58
50 g of all five shortlisted oils: twenty 150 g test candles at 8% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which fragrance oils should I buy for strong hot throw in soy? Start with five: Roasted Coffee, Woody Oud, Apple Cinnamon, Blue Ocean and Bergamot Amber. Each product page states a candle load that includes 8%, names a heavy base note and states a soy cure, and every size is in stock on 25 September 2026.

Are these the strongest oils CSI sells? Nobody can honestly say that. CSI has no measured hot-throw data for any oil. The shortlist is ranked on what the pages state and on price per gram, and each rule is shown below so you can check it.

How should I buy them? 50 g of each, not 15 g and not 1 kg. 50 g makes four 150 g candles at 8%. All five at 50 g cost ₹1,265.58; a three-oil start costs ₹738.58.

When do I buy 1 kg? After a cured candle has passed in your own wax, jar and room. Apple Cinnamon costs the same per gram at every size from 50 g and Blue Ocean is fractionally dearer per gram at 1 kg, so check the size table first.
The short answer
The shortlist: Roasted Coffee (gourmand), Woody Oud (woods and oud), Apple Cinnamon (spiced), Blue Ocean (fresh), Bergamot Amber (citrus with amber). Ranked in that order.
The basis: four gates stated on the product page (a load range including 8%, every size in stock, a heavy base note, a soy cure), then price per gram at 1 kg. It is not a throw ranking; CSI has not measured throw.
The cost: ₹1,265.58 for 50 g of all five (20 test candles at 8%); ₹738.58 for the first three (12 candles). Oil per 8% candle at 1 kg runs from ₹44.86 to ₹65.24.
Before you buy: if your current candle smells weak with every oil you try, a new oil will not fix it. Prove the candle can throw first.
The soy shortlist, gate by gate Filled circle = the product page states it. Pass all four gates, then rank on price per gram at 1 kg. OIL 8% IN RANGE ALL SIZES HEAVY BASE SOY CURE ₹/g 1 kg RESULT Roasted Coffee gourmand ₹3.74 Rank 1 Woody Oud woods and oud ₹4.53 Rank 2 Apple Cinnamon spiced, festive ₹4.74 Rank 3 Blue Ocean fresh, aquatic ₹4.96 Rank 4 Bergamot Amber citrus with amber ₹5.44 Rank 5 Sandalwood woods, runner-up ₹5.03 Beaten on price Fallen Leaves spiced, runner-up ₹4.25 No stated cure Citrus Lemon citrus ₹2.83 No base named Vetiver woods ₹5.66 1 kg out of stock Gates and prices from CSI product pages, verified 25 September 2026. "Heavy base" means the page names woods, amber, resin, oud, patchouli, tonka, vanilla or caramel in its notes. Nothing here is a throw measurement: CSI has none. Above the dashed line: the five picks, one per family. Below it: the nearest oils that missed, and why.
How the shortlist was built. Every oil in the range whose page states a candle load was checked against four gates the product page either states or does not; the cheapest passer per gram at 1 kg in each of five scent families is carded, and the five are ranked by that price. The four rows below the dashed line are a passer beaten on price and three near misses. Throw is not a column because CSI has not measured it.
Straight answer
Which CSI fragrance oils should I buy for strong hot throw in soy candles?
Buy 50 g each of Roasted Coffee, Woody Oud, Apple Cinnamon, Blue Ocean and Bergamot Amber, or the first three if you want a smaller start. Each product page states a candle load that includes 8%, names a heavy base note (woods, amber, oud, vanilla or caramel), and states a soy cure, and every size of all five is in stock on 25 September 2026. They are ranked by price per gram at 1 kg because on the stated evidence they are otherwise level. What we cannot tell you is which will throw best in your candle: CSI has no measured throw data, and nobody else has measured your jar. So pour four candles of each at 8%, cure them, judge them in the same room, and buy 500 g of the one that wins. All five at 50 g cost ₹1,265.58.
One line: buy on what the page states, prove it in your own wax, and only then buy the kilogram.
The three-oil start: Roasted Coffee 50 g ₹230.00, Woody Oud 50 g ₹271.40 and Apple Cinnamon 50 g ₹237.18, ₹738.58 in all. Enough for four 150 g candles of each at 8%, every size in stock on 25 September 2026.
Start with Roasted Coffee — ₹230.00

Before you spend: is it actually the oil?

A shortlist of good oils is useless in a candle that cannot throw. Check that first; it costs less than one bottle.

This page is for a buyer who has decided to buy new oils. If you arrived because your current candles smell weak, stop here for two minutes. A weak candle is more often short of melt pool, cure or a fair test than short of fragrance, and a new oil poured into the same jar with the same wick will usually be weak in the same way. The order to check, and the control-oil test that proves whether the oil is really at fault, are in the weak-hot-throw hub; what counts as proof that an oil is weak is in How Do I Know If My Fragrance Oil Is Too Weak for Candle Making?.

Three quick signs that the oil is not your problem: every oil you have tried smells weak in the same jar; the wax is still solid at the glass after three or four hours; or you burned the candle within a few days of pouring. Any one of these points away from the bottle. Three signs that a new oil is a fair purchase: other oils throw well in this exact candle, the pool reaches the glass, and the weak one was judged after a proper cure in a closed room of known size. If that is you, read on.

Argued against our own interest: we would sell more oil by telling everyone with a weak candle to buy five new ones. If your candle fails with every oil, the ₹1,265.58 on this page buys you five weak candles. Spend ₹59.00 on a pack of Eco C1 wicks and fourteen days on a cure first, then come back.

How the shortlist is ranked, and what it cannot tell you

A ranked list of oils "for strong hot throw" usually hides its method. Ours is set out here so you can check it, disagree with it, or apply it to oils we have not carded. It uses only what a CSI product page states on 25 September 2026 and what the store charges. Of the 102 oils in the range, 50 pages state a candle load or range in some form (two of them, Lavender Oud and Amber Oud Royal, only as a "Candles" row in a perfume usage table, with no cure); the shortlist was drawn from those 50.

The four gates and the tie-break · all read from the product page
An oil must pass all four gates; the tie-break then orders the ones that pass
Test What passes Why it matters for hot throw in soy What it does not prove
Gate 1 · stated load includes 8% A candle or soy load whose range includes 8%, e.g. "candles (6-10%)" The oil is intended to work at a moderate load, inside CSI 464's 10% ceiling That 8% is your best load
Gate 2 · every size in stock No out-of-stock size on 25 September 2026 If it wins your test you can buy 500 g or 1 kg of the same oil Future stock; confirm on WhatsApp before a big order
Gate 3 · a heavy base note named The notes name woods, amber, resin, oud, patchouli, tonka, vanilla or caramel Heavier base materials tend to keep releasing from a hot pool after bright top notes fade (a tendency, not a rule) That the base is large, or that the oil will throw
Gate 4 · a soy cure stated A cure period for soy on the page, e.g. "48-72 hours" The page was written with soy candles in mind and tells you when a burn test is fair That the stated cure is enough; many makers judge at day 7 and 14
Tie-break · price per gram at 1 kg Lower ranks higher On the stated evidence the passers are level, so cost decides Quality; a dearer oil is not a stronger one

One pick per family

Ranking every passer on price alone would fill the list with whatever family happens to be cheapest, which is no use for a range. So the rule was applied within families (gourmand, woods and oud, spiced, fresh, citrus) and the top passer in each was carded. The runner-up in each family is named in the tables so you have a second choice ready. Florals are discussed separately below, because the common single-flower oils do not clear all four gates.

What this ranking cannot tell you

It cannot tell you which oil throws best. CSI does not publish throw measurements, and a page that says "Strong throw" is making a claim, including on our own pages. It cannot tell you how an oil behaves in your wax, jar, wick and room; the same oil can do well in one system and poorly in another. And it cannot tell you what your customers will like. The rule simply sorts oils whose pages give you the most to work with, at the lowest price, so that your own test starts from sensible candidates.

Two ceilings, every time
Whatever the oil page allows, the lower of the wax page's and the oil page's stated maximum governs. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states up to 10%; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 state up to 13%. All five picks state a candle maximum of 10%, so in any of these waxes your ceiling is 10%. These are formulation limits, not regulatory ones, and the maximum is not the best-performing load; test at 6%, 8% and 10%. How to choose between those loads is in What Type of Fragrance Oil Gives Strong Hot Throw at 6–8%? and Should I Use 6%, 8% or 10% Fragrance Oil for Strong Soy Candles?.

The five oils, card by card

Five families, five oils, every size in stock. Ranked on the page's evidence, not on anyone's nose.

The table puts the five side by side at the two prices that matter: the 50 g you test with and the 1 kg you would produce with. Oil cost per candle assumes a 150 g candle at 8%, which is 12 g of oil and 138 g of wax on total weight.

The shortlist at a glance · CSI live pricing, 25 September 2026
What each page states, and what each 8% candle costs in oil
Rank Oil Stated load Base named on the page Oil per candle, 50 g Oil per candle, 1 kg
1 Roasted Coffee candles (6-10%) warm vanilla and caramel ₹55.20 ₹44.86
2 Woody Oud candles (6-10%) warm woody notes, amber, and musk ₹65.14 ₹54.37
3 Apple Cinnamon 6-10% for soy wax candles vanilla and warm amber ₹56.92 ₹56.92
4 Blue Ocean candles (up to 10%) driftwood and musk ₹59.28 ₹59.47
5 Bergamot Amber 6-10% for soy wax candles woody musk and smooth vanilla ₹67.20 ₹65.24

Runners-up, in case a first choice does not suit your range: in woods, Sandalwood passes every gate and states "0% vanillin - no discolouration", but costs ₹5.03 per gram at 1 kg against Woody Oud's ₹4.53 (₹60.32 of oil per candle). In spiced, Fallen Leaves is cheaper than Apple Cinnamon at 1 kg (₹50.98 per candle) and names "Amber, Musk, Vanilla" in its base, but its page states no cure. In gourmand, Roasted Coconut passes too at ₹4.00 per gram at 1 kg, though no 500 g size is listed. Autumn states "7-11% for candles" (10% in CSI 464) and no cure. None of the runners-up is worse on evidence we have; they lost the tie-break or a gate by a line of page text.

1
gourmand · rank 1 · lowest per gram at 1 kg of the five
Roasted Coffee Fragrance
Top of the list because it clears every gate at the lowest price per gram of the five. The page describes "fresh coffee bean top notes, dark chocolate and espresso heart, and a warm vanilla and caramel base", states "candles (6-10%)", and says "Always cure soy wax candles for at least 48-72 hours before burn testing for best scent throw". Its "Strong throw" is the page's wording, not a CSI measurement. Two customer reviews on the page describe the scent as "really amazing" and "quite strong"; that is their candles, not yours. Who it is for: café, bakery and cosy-winter ranges. Limitation: the page names vanilla in the base but does not state a vanillin figure, so pour one candle in your palest wax and watch its colour for two weeks before you build a white range on it.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹230.00 ₹4.60 4
100 gm ₹390.00 ₹3.90 8
500 gm ₹1,890.00 ₹3.78 41
1 kg ₹3,738.00 ₹3.74 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹55.20 at 50 g, ₹44.86 at 1 kg. Two 500 g packs cost ₹42.00 more than the 1 kg. Buy Roasted Coffee 50 g
2
woods and oud · rank 2 · the heaviest stated base
Woody Oud Fragrance Oil
In our reading, the heaviest stated structure of the five: "citrus and spice top notes opening into rich oud and patchouli heart, settling into warm woody notes, amber, and musk". The page states "candles (6-10%)" and "Cure soy wax candles for 48-72 hours before burn testing". "Strong throw" is again the page's phrase. From 100 g it is priced flat at ₹4.53 per gram, so the 500 g and 1 kg buy you convenience, not a discount. Who it is for: men's gifting, oud and amber ranges, winter. Limitation: dense woody-resinous oils often need a wick check; if the pool is slow to reach the glass, rewick before you judge it. Oud is also a strong character that some buyers dislike, so sample it on people before you stock it.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹271.40 ₹5.43 4
100 gm ₹453.12 ₹4.53 8
500 gm ₹2,265.60 ₹4.53 41
1 kg ₹4,531.20 ₹4.53 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹65.14 at 50 g, ₹54.37 from 100 g upwards. The 1 kg is 16.5% cheaper per gram than the 50 g. Buy Woody Oud 50 g
3
spiced, festive · rank 3 · soy load and cure on one line
Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil
The festive pick. Notes: "crisp juicy apple and spicy cinnamon opening into baked goods and nutmeg, settling into vanilla and warm amber". The load line is unusually precise: "6-10% for soy wax candles, cure 48-72 hours. 6-8% for paraffin wax". Every size from 50 g to 1 kg is ₹4.74 per gram, so buy the size you will use; nothing is saved by going bigger. One review says a customer's buyer found the scent warm "as soon as they entered their home"; one maker's report, not a test. Who it is for: Diwali and Christmas ranges, kitchens. Limitation: vanilla in the base again, with no vanillin figure stated; test the colour in pale wax before a white range. It beat the cheaper Fallen Leaves only because Fallen Leaves' page states no cure.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹237.18 ₹4.74 4
100 gm ₹474.36 ₹4.74 8
500 gm ₹2,371.80 ₹4.74 41
1 kg ₹4,743.60 ₹4.74 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹56.92 at every size from 50 g to 1 kg. Buy Apple Cinnamon 50 g
4
fresh, aquatic · rank 4 · the fresh oil that clears all four gates
Blue Ocean Fragrance Oil
In our experience, fresh scents are a frequent source of weak-throw complaints in soy, and several fresh oils in the range, such as Eucalyptus Spearmint and Verbena, name no base at all. Blue Ocean does: "sea salt and ozone top notes, jasmine and lily of the valley heart, and driftwood and musk base". The page states "candles (up to 10%)", "0% vanillin - no discolouration" (the page's claim; test anyway), a soy cure of 48 to 72 hours, and "Strong throw", which is its wording. Who it is for: bathroom, summer and clean-scent ranges. Limitation: it is fractionally dearer per gram as the pack gets bigger (₹4.94 at 50 g, ₹4.96 at 500 g and 1 kg), so the 1 kg is a convenience buy, not a saving. A driftwood-and-musk base is lighter than an oud one; expect to test it at 8% and 10%, within your wax ceiling.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹247.00 ₹4.94 4
100 gm ₹495.00 ₹4.95 8
500 gm ₹2,478.00 ₹4.96 41
1 kg ₹4,956.00 ₹4.96 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹59.28 at 50 g, ₹59.47 at 1 kg (the larger pack is dearer per gram). Buy Blue Ocean 50 g
5
citrus with amber · rank 5 · a citrus that has a floor
Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil
If your customers want citrus, this is the citrus we would test first, because it has a base under the top notes: "sparkling bergamot and citrus top notes, warm amber and soft floral heart, woody musk and smooth vanilla base". The load line matches Apple Cinnamon's: "6-10% for soy wax candles, cure 48-72 hours. 6-8% for paraffin wax". Who it is for: all-year ranges and corporate gifting where a bright opening matters. Limitation: the dearest per gram of the five, and the 1 kg costs ₹1.00 more than two 500 g packs, so buy two 500 g if you need a kilogram. Vanilla sits in the base with no vanillin figure stated; check colour in pale wax.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹105.02 ₹7.00 1
50 gm ₹280.00 ₹5.60 4
100 gm ₹560.00 ₹5.60 8
500 gm ₹2,718.00 ₹5.44 41
1 kg ₹5,437.00 ₹5.44 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹67.20 at 50 g, ₹65.23 at 500 g, ₹65.24 at 1 kg. Buy Bergamot Amber 50 g

What about florals?

Florals are a common request and, in our experience, often a disappointment in soy, and the gates show why the choice is harder. Several florals state a candle load but name no base at all: British Rose, Gardenia and Ylang Ylang Flower describe the flower only. Jasmine names "slightly musky" and nothing heavier. Japanese Cherry Blossom does name "warm sandalwood and musk" and states "6-13% for candles", but no cure. Among floral and fruity-floral listings that are not brand-inspired, the one that clears all four gates is Love Spell Fragrance Oil (fruity floral; "High throw in soy wax at 8-10%", a stated soy cure, a "white musk and powdery vanilla" base, ₹4.50 per gram at 1 kg). Its range starts at 8%, not 6%, which is why it is a floral-lover's test candidate rather than a card here. If florals are your range, ask us on WhatsApp and test two side by side.

Strong-sounding oils we left off, and why

The words "strong", "extremely strong" and "concentrated" are the easiest things on a product page to write, and the hardest to check.

Some oils a hot-throw buyer might expect to see are missing. Each was checked against the same gates; the reason it is not carded is below. None of these is a verdict that the oil is weak, only that its page gives less to go on or its price per candle is higher.

Left off the shortlist · reasons from the product page and the price list
Not rejected: just not the first place to spend a sample budget
Oil What the page states Why it is not carded When you might still test it
Citrus Lemon "candles (6-10%)"; a soy cure; notes end at "a tangy mandarin finish" No base named. It is the lowest per gram at 1 kg (₹2.83) of the oils whose pages state a candle load, but top-led citrus tends to fade faster once lit As a bright blending partner, or a budget kitchen line tested at 10%
Cinnamon Vanilla "Up to 13% load for candles"; "Vanillin content 2.5%" No cure stated, and 13% is capped at 10% in CSI 464. The stated vanillin content points to colour change in pale wax In tinted jars or brown wax, where colour change is hidden
Wild Berries "Extremely strong hot throw in soy wax (8–10%)"; base of sugar crystals and soft musk The throw wording is a page claim we cannot verify; no heavy base named; ₹6.00 per gram at 1 kg If a berry is essential to your range, alongside a control oil
Vetiver "Up to 10% for soy wax candles"; a soy cure; "0% vanillin" The 1 kg is out of stock on 25 September 2026, so a winning test could not be scaled to a kilogram today When the 1 kg is back; the 500 g is in stock
Chocolate Fudge "6-10% for candles"; vanilla bean and brown sugar base The 100 g is out of stock on 25 September 2026, and the page states no cure As a gourmand runner-up in the 50 g
Perfume-grade listings, e.g. Vanilla Orange Blossom Perfume usage rates of 15% to 25%; most, including Vanilla Orange Blossom, state no candle load (Lavender Oud and Amber Oud Royal list "Candles (Soy/Paraffin/Blends) 10%" in a usage table) Those rates are for perfume, not candles. At 1 kg Vanilla Orange Blossom is ₹8.29 per gram, 2.2 times Roasted Coffee: ₹99.53 of oil per 8% candle. Many brand-inspired perfume listings run higher still For a signature scent where cost per candle does not matter; see Should I Buy a More Concentrated Fragrance Oil Instead of Increasing Fragrance Load?
Argued against our own interest: the dearest oils in our range are not on this list, and that is deliberate. A higher price per gram buys a particular scent character, not a promise of hot throw; no page, including ours, measures that. If you want a signature perfume-style scent, buy it for the scent and cost it honestly per candle. If you want throw, start with oils whose pages were written for candles.

The sample route and basket totals

Fifty grams is the smallest bottle that lets an oil prove itself twice.

Every oil on the shortlist is sold in 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg. The 15 g looks like the natural sample, but at 8% it makes one 150 g candle with 3 g left over: no second candle to confirm the first, and no candle to compare at a later cure day. It also costs more per gram; Roasted Coffee's 15 g is 35% dearer per gram than its 50 g. The 50 g makes four candles at 8% with 2 g spare, enough to burn one at day 7, one at day 14, and keep two in reserve for a rematch or a friend's opinion.

Three ways to buy the shortlist · CSI live pricing, 25 September 2026
Oil spend, candle count and what each route can tell you
Route What you buy Oil spend 150 g candles at 8% What it can tell you

Full shortlist 50 g of all five ₹1,265.58 20 (four each) A ranked result across five families

The complete basket, with jars, wicks and wax

If you need everything for the full shortlist, twenty 150 g candles take 240 g of oil, 20 jars, 20 wicks and 2,760 g of wax. With the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) pack of 20 (₹1,888.00), a 20-pack of Eco C1 wicks (₹118.00) and a 5 kg bag of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (₹2,537.00, of which you use 2,760 g), the new spend is ₹5,808.58. If you already have wax, it is ₹3,271.58. The wax actually consumed is worth ₹1,400.42 at the 10 kg price (₹0.51 per gram). For the three-oil start, 12 candles need 1,656 g of wax (worth ₹840.25) and the same 20-packs of jars and wicks leave 8 of each spare: ₹2,744.58 before wax. Figures exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.

C1 is a starting wick, not a recommendation for your jar. The page publishes no diameter chart, and heavier oils such as Woody Oud often need a wick check. If your jar is wider than the 150 g clear jar (the page gives an outer diameter of about 7 cm), pour one extra candle with a C2 before you judge the oil. Worked example for one test candle: Roasted Coffee at the 50 g price ₹55.20, wax ₹70.02, jar ₹94.40, C1 wick ₹5.90: ₹225.52.

From 50 g to 1 kg: where bigger is cheaper, and where it is not

Woody Oud ₹5.43 ₹4.53 ₹4.53 ₹4.53 Flat from 100 g; the 1 kg is 16.5% below the 50 g but no cheaper than the 100 g
Apple Cinnamon ₹4.74 ₹4.74 ₹4.74 ₹4.74 Flat from 50 g; bigger packs save nothing per gram
Blue Ocean ₹4.94 ₹4.95 ₹4.96 ₹4.96 Fractionally dearer per gram as the pack grows
Bergamot Amber ₹5.60 ₹5.60 ₹5.44 ₹5.44 The step is at 500 g; the 1 kg costs ₹1.00 more than two 500 g packs

The choice of oil matters more than the pack size. At the 1 kg price, oil for 100 candles at 8% costs ₹4,485.60 with Roasted Coffee and ₹6,524.40 with Bergamot Amber, a gap of ₹2,038.80, larger than anything a bigger pack saves on either. Worked example for a first production run: 41 Roasted Coffee candles from one 500 g bottle (₹1,890.00) with CSI 464, 150 g clear jars and C1 wicks come to ₹8,873.17, or ₹216.42 per candle, excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST.

We sell the 1 kg. For your first order of an oil, don't buy it. Two of these five (Apple Cinnamon from 50 g, Woody Oud from 100 g) cost exactly the same per gram in a kilogram as in the smaller packs, and Blue Ocean costs fractionally more. The kilogram's only advantage there is fewer orders. Buy it when a second production batch has passed, not when the first sample smells good.

Buying for Diwali and Christmas

Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, 44 days after these prices were checked; Christmas on 25 December 2026. Apple Cinnamon and Woody Oud suit both seasons, Roasted Coffee suits winter gifting, and Blue Ocean and Bergamot Amber carry all-year and corporate ranges. A 14-day sample test leaves room for one cured production batch before Diwali if you pour your samples in the first week of October; for Christmas there is time for a second batch. Dispatch time depends on your location, so confirm it on WhatsApp before you promise a customer a date. The store's Diwali collection lists more festive options, though only the five above are carded here on the rule.

Diwali 8 November 2026: sample in the first week of October, decide by mid-October, pour production by 20 October. When your sample has a winner, ask for a 500 g or 1 kg quote with GST invoice and a dispatch date.

The CSI principle
Buy on what the page states, prove it in your own candle, and scale only what passed.
A stated load, a named base and a stated cure are reasons to test an oil, not proof that it throws. The proof is your cured candle in your room.
"A shortlist narrows the search. Only your own candle ends it."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells every oil named here, including the dearer ones we left off the list, and does not sell finished candles. The shortlist is ranked on a rule you can check, and the page tells you when not to buy at all.

Every price and per-gram figure was verified on CSI's live store on 25 September 2026. All sizes of the five carded oils are in stock on that date; the out-of-stock sizes of Vetiver and Chocolate Fudge are flagged. Loads, cures, notes and throw wording are quoted from product pages and are those pages' claims.

The gates, the family grouping, the "heavy base" definition and the order of the shortlist are editorial judgement applied to stated data; CSI has no measured throw data for any oil. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Which fragrance oil has the strongest hot throw in soy wax?
No supplier can honestly answer that for your candle, and CSI has no measured throw data. On what product pages state, Roasted Coffee, Woody Oud, Apple Cinnamon, Blue Ocean and Bergamot Amber each give a load that includes 8%, a heavy base note and a soy cure, with every size in stock. Test 50 g of each in your own wax.
What fragrance load should I use in soy candles for good hot throw?
Stay within the lower of the wax's and the oil page's maximum (CSI 464 up to 10%; Chunks and CSI 468 up to 13%). All five shortlisted oils state a candle maximum of 10%. Test at 6%, 8% and 10%; the highest load is not always the strongest.
Do gourmand and woody fragrance oils throw better than fresh ones?
They often hold up better in a hot pool because heavier base notes tend to keep releasing after top notes fade. It is a tendency, not a rule. Fresh oils with a named base, such as Blue Ocean's driftwood and musk, are the fairer test.
How many candles can I make from 50 g of fragrance oil?
Four 150 g candles at 8% (12 g each), with 2 g left. At 6% it is five, at 10% three. That is why 50 g, not 15 g, is the sensible sample size.
Is it cheaper to buy fragrance oil in 1 kg?
Sometimes. Roasted Coffee's 1 kg is 18.7% cheaper per gram than its 50 g. Apple Cinnamon is the same per gram at every size from 50 g, Woody Oud from 100 g, and Blue Ocean is fractionally dearer per gram at 1 kg. Check the size table before you scale.
Does "strong throw" on a fragrance oil page mean it is tested?
It is the page's description, not a measurement, including on CSI's pages. CSI publishes no throw data. Use stated loads, base notes and cure times to choose what to test, and your own cured candle to decide.

Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are whole candles, floor(grams ÷ 12). Wax ceilings are as stated on the wax pages (formulation limits, not regulatory limits). The count of 50 oils stating a candle load or range includes pages that phrase it inside marketing text and two perfume-grade pages (Lavender Oud, Amber Oud Royal) that give it only in a usage table. Loads, cures, notes and throw wording are quoted from oil pages. The gates, family grouping and ranking are editorial judgement applied to that stated data; no throw was measured. Costs are worked examples excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST.
