CSI publishes no wholesale tier, no trade card and no discount schedule. What it publishes instead is a price at every pack size — and on Citronella the price per gram falls from ₹9.44 to ₹2.891 as you climb it. This guide reads the whole ladder and builds a costed winter run from it.
₹9.44 → ₹2.891
price per gram of Citronella Fragrance Oil, 15 g bottle against 1 kg bottle — a fall of 69% · the median fall across the range is 25% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Is there a wholesale price for fragrance oils? Not as a separate tier. The pack ladder is the wholesale price — every listing prices 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg separately, and the price per gram usually falls as the pack grows. There is no published trade discount, no published minimum order and no city price list.
How much does climbing the ladder actually save? Across the 49 oils sold in both 15 g and 1 kg, the median fall in price per gram is 25%. The extremes are wide: 69% on Citronella, and under 1% on Saffron Cedarwood. You have to check the oil you are buying.
Where does the fall usually happen? Low down. The big step is 15 g to 50 g. Of the 86 oils stocked in both 100 g and 1 kg, 41 cost exactly the same per gram at both and only 13 fall by 10% or more — so the kilo is normally about cover, not price.
What does a wholesale order look like? For a 150-candle winter run in three scents at an 8% load: 2.8 kg of oil, 29 kg of wax and 200 wicks — ₹28,436.16, of which ₹174.07 is consumed per finished candle before the vessel. The surplus carries into the next run.
The short answer
Stop looking for a trade rate and read the rungs: the discount is already printed on the listing as five separate prices. The only question is which rung your run needs.
Round up to the kilo only where the ladder rewards it: on Citronella, 800 g bought as a 500 g plus three 100 g bottles costs ₹885 more than a full kilo — for 200 g less oil. On Mahogany Shea it costs ₹977.04 less and the same per gram. Same store, opposite answers.
Buy the whole winter run in one order: Ranchi's gifting weeks run from Durga Puja through Diwali on 8 November 2026 to Christmas and the wedding season. Splitting that into four purchases pays the small-pack premium four times.
Bar length is the listed price per gram. Citronella is the steepest ladder in the range and almost all of it is one step: the price per gram is unchanged from 50 g to 100 g, then drops 62% at 500 g and barely moves again. Buying four 100 g bottles costs ₹3,068 for 400 g; the 500 g bottle costs ₹1,475 for more oil. Reading the rung is worth more than negotiating.
How do I buy fragrance oil at wholesale rates for a candle business in Ranchi?
By buying the right rung, because at CSI the rung is the trade price. There is no wholesale tier, no trade card, no published discount schedule and no minimum order quantity — every listing simply prices 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg separately, and the price per gram usually falls as you climb. How much it falls is oil-specific and worth checking every time: across the 49 oils sold in both 15 g and 1 kg, the median fall is 25%, but Citronella falls 69% from ₹9.44 to ₹2.891 a gram while Gilli Mitti falls only 4%. The practical rule is that the biggest step is 15 g to 50 g and the smallest is usually the one into the kilo: of the 86 oils stocked in both 100 g and 1 kg, 41 cost identically per gram at both. For a real Ranchi winter run — 150 candles of 200 g across three scents at 8% — the ladder says buy full kilos of British Rose at ₹3,068 and Citronella at ₹2,891, and 800 g of Mahogany Shea as a 500 g plus three 100 g bottles, because on that oil the price per gram is flat from 100 g and rounding up buys nothing. Add 29 kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and 200 Eco Candle Wicks. One kilogram is the largest fragrance pack CSI lists, so above it you multiply for a ceiling and ask for a quote.
One line: the wholesale price is already printed — five times, once per pack size — so read the ladder per oil and round up to the kilo only where the per-gram figure actually falls.
Buying for a run? Citronella 500 g at ₹1,475 is ₹2.95 a gram, British Rose 1 kg at ₹3,068 is ₹3.068, and Mahogany Shea 100 g at ₹488.52 is already at its floor of ₹4.8852. Three different rungs, three different right answers.
Most people asking for a wholesale rate are asking to be let into a room that does not exist. The good news is that the prices in it are already on the shelf.
"Wholesale" is a reasonable thing to type when you have an order book and you do not want to pay retail on 3 kg of oil. But it is worth being precise about what is and is not on offer, because the difference changes how you buy. CSI publishes no trade tier, no dealer price, no volume discount schedule, no minimum order quantity and no city-specific pricing. A maker in Ranchi pays the listed price, and so does everyone else. What exists instead is a ladder of pack sizes with a separate price on each rung — and on some oils that ladder is steeper than most trade discounts you will ever be offered.

The mistake: assuming the ladder behaves the same way on every oil. It does not, and the spread is enormous. On Citronella the price per gram is identical at 50 g and 100 g and then falls 62% at 500 g — so four 100 g bottles cost ₹3,068 for 400 g while one 500 g bottle costs ₹1,475 for 500 g. On Gilli Mitti the ladder is flat at ₹8.96 a gram from 50 g all the way to the kilo, so buying big changes nothing but your cash position. Check the oil, every time, with one division: pack price ÷ grams. It takes ten seconds and it is the whole of wholesale buying here.
The per-gram ladder, ten oils deep
Ten in-stock oils, every rung they are listed in, expressed as the price per gram — the only figure that lets you compare a 15 g bottle with a kilo. The last column is the total fall from the smallest listed pack to the kilo. They are sorted by that fall, and the range from top to bottom is the real answer to "how much is wholesale worth?"
Price per gram by rung · ten in-stock oils · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Sorted by the total fall from the 15 g bottle to the 1 kg bottle
Worked out above: price per gram = listed pack price ÷ grams in the pack. Total fall = (15 g per-gram − 1 kg per-gram) ÷ 15 g per-gram. Citronella ₹141.60 / ₹383.50 / ₹767 / ₹1,475 / ₹2,891. Mahogany Shea ₹164.02 / ₹330.40 / ₹488.52 / ₹2,442.60 / ₹4,885.20. Fresh Strawberries ₹113.28 / ₹212.40 / ₹377.60 / ₹1,770 / ₹3,540. British Rose ₹94.40 / ₹212.40 / ₹342.20 / ₹1,593 / ₹3,068. Citrus Lemon ₹81.42 / ₹170 / ₹300 / ₹1,420 / ₹2,832. Orchard Pear ₹105.02 / ₹240 / ₹380 / ₹1,870 / ₹3,738. Zesty Lemon ₹90 / ₹200 / ₹360 / ₹1,720 / ₹3,400. Jasmine ₹103 / ₹230 / ₹430 / ₹1,961 / ₹3,923. Sandalwood ₹93.22 / ₹271.40 / ₹502.68 / ₹2,513.40 / ₹5,026.80. Gilli Mitti ₹140 / ₹448 / ₹896 / ₹4,480 / ₹8,960. Across all 49 oils sold in both 15 g and 1 kg with both sizes in stock, the median fall is 25%; the largest is Citronella at 69% and the smallest Saffron Cedarwood at under 1%.
Two patterns are worth internalising. First, a steep ladder is not the same as a cheap oil. Mahogany Shea falls 55% and still lands at ₹4.8852 a gram, while Citrus Lemon falls 48% and lands at ₹2.832 — so if the decision is which scent your margin can carry, read the last column of prices, not the percentage. Second, Jasmine's ladder actually reverses at the top: the 500 g bottle is ₹3.922 a gram and the kilo is ₹3.923, meaning two 500 g bottles cost ₹3,922 against ₹3,923 for one kilo. One rupee is not a reason to do anything, but it is proof that the rungs are priced individually rather than by a formula — which is exactly why you check.
Where the ladder stops falling
This is the section that saves money, because it tells you when to stop buying bigger. Of the 86 oils in stock in both 100 g and 1 kg, the top of the ladder behaves in three distinct ways.

The two-division test, before every bulk order
For each oil, divide the price of the rung you were going to buy by its grams, then do the same for the rung above. If the second number is not meaningfully lower, buy the smaller rung and keep the cash. On Mahogany Shea that test says buy 800 g as a 500 g plus three 100 g bottles for ₹3,908.16 rather than a kilo for ₹4,885.20 — identical per gram, ₹977.04 left in the bank. On Citronella the same test says the opposite, emphatically.
Do not read a steep ladder as a quality signal, in either direction. A pack ladder reflects how a listing is priced, not how the oil performs. Mahogany Shea has one of the steepest ladders in the range and its page is also one of the thinnest: it states no fragrance load, no cure time, no flash point, no vanillin figure and no note pyramid. That is not a reason to avoid it; it is a reason to test it at 8% in your own wax and log the result, because the page will not do that work for you. Meanwhile Sandalwood has one of the flattest ladders and one of the fullest specification sheets. Price behaviour and documentation are unrelated.
Three oils where the ladder pays
Three oils that between them cover a Ranchi winter — a rose for weddings, a citrus-herbal for volume and everyday lines, and a warm woody for hampers — and that between them demonstrate all three ladder behaviours. Each card shows every rung, the price per 100 g for comparison, and how many 120 g jars the pack pours at 8%.
1
Floral · the wedding-season anchor
British Rose Fragrance Oil
Rose is what a wedding-favour order in November asks for, and this page is unusually well documented for the money. It states up to 10% for soy wax candles with a 48–72 hour cure, up to 6% for paraffin, up to 12% for wax melts, a measured flashpoint of 192°C and 0% vanillin — no discolouration, safe for white, cream and pastel waxes, which is exactly what a pale wedding candle needs. The stated profile is a single note: fresh, dewy roses with subtle green undertones. Note one honest gap: this page never mentions IFRA at all, unlike most of the range — 36 of the 107 listings are silent on it. Its ladder falls a clean 51% from ₹6.2933 to ₹3.068 a gram, with a useful 10% step from 100 g to the kilo. One CSI customer, Emma Bechara, writes that after five years of testing she found what she wanted for "strong fragrance in cold throw and hot throw".

Citrus-herbal · the volume line
Citronella Fragrance Oil
The steepest ladder on the store and, at the 500 g rung, one of the cheapest oils per candle in the range. Its page states a measured flash point of 270°F, 0% vanillin and phthalate-free, with a pyramid of lemon and lemongrass on top, citronella and green herb in the middle, wood at the base, and it notes the aroma's insect-repellent associations. On IFRA it says only "follow IFRA guidelines for skin safety" — a pointer, not a certificate. It states no candle load percentage, so treat 8% as your working figure and keep it there until a cured jar has burned. The ladder: flat at ₹7.67 a gram through 50 g and 100 g, then ₹2.95 at 500 g. If your run needs 400 g or more of this oil, the 500 g bottle is the only sensible purchase on the page.

Warm woody · hampers and gift boxes
Mahogany Shea
The warm, soft woody scent a Diwali or Christmas hamper leans on, and a deliberate lesson in reading a thin page. Its listing describes it as ideal for soft, inviting candles, reed diffusers, soaps and body care, and it states nothing else — no fragrance load, no cure time, no flash point, no vanillin figure, no note pyramid. So none of those is quoted here. What it does have is one of the steepest ladders in the range, falling 55% from ₹10.9347 a gram at 15 g to ₹4.8852 at 100 g, and then staying exactly there at 500 g and at 1 kg. That flat top is the whole point: buy the grams you need, not the kilo. Test it at 8% in your own wax, burn a cured jar, and log everything the page does not tell you.

A costed winter run for Ranchi
Ranchi's selling year stacks four occasions into one stretch from October to February. Buy for all four in one order or pay the small-pack premium four times.
Here is the run, built on real numbers: 150 candles of 200 g, three scents, fifty of each, at an 8% fragrance load, covering Diwali on 8 November 2026, Christmas hampers and the wedding weeks that run on into February. Each candle takes 184 g of wax and 16 g of oil, so the run needs 27.6 kg of wax and 2.4 kg of oil — 800 g of each scent — before any allowance for spills and top-up pours.
1
Convert the run into grams before you look at a price150 × 16 g = 2,400 g of oil; 150 × 184 g = 27,600 g of wax. Split across three scents that is 800 g each. Add a planning allowance of three to five per cent for spills, wick failures and top-up pours — on the wax that takes you to about 29 kg, which is the figure to buy against.
2
Price 800 g two ways for every oilRoute A is 500 g plus three 100 g bottles. Route B is one kilo, which overshoots by 200 g. On British Rose, Route A is ₹2,619.60 at ₹3.2745 a gram; the kilo is ₹3,068 at ₹3.068 — cheaper per gram, so take the kilo. On Citronella, Route A is ₹3,776 and the kilo is ₹2,891 — ₹885 less for 200 g more. On Mahogany Shea, Route A is ₹3,908.16 and the kilo ₹4,885.20 at exactly the same ₹4.8852 a gram, so Route A wins by ₹977.04.
3
Buy the wax in the largest listed packs, not in kilosLuxury Soy Wax Chunks list at ₹599 for 1 kg, ₹2,995 for 5 kg and ₹5,999 for 10 kg — effectively flat per kilo, so the packs are a convenience decision. Twenty-nine kilos as two 10 kg bags, one 5 kg and four 1 kg comes to ₹17,389, or ₹599.62 a kilo. There is no 25 kg or 50 kg listing for this wax; if you want that, it is a WhatsApp conversation.
4
Buy wicks with spares, and note the flat priceEco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) are ₹5.90 each at every pack size from 10 wicks to 1,000 — there is no volume price at all, which is worth knowing before you buy 1,000 of them. Two 100-packs for 200 wicks is ₹1,180 and gives you fifty spares for re-wicking and test pours.
5
Pour early, because a Ranchi cure is slower than a Mumbai oneThe plateau runs cool from December, and cure is driven by the room rather than the calendar: allow the full 14 to 21 days rather than the 48–72 hour minimum a fragrance page states. Working back from 8 November, production wants to be poured by 18 October to be comfortable and 25 October at the absolute latest. For a 25 December handover, pour by 4 to 11 December. Warm the glass before pouring in the cool weeks — cold jars are where wet spots come from.

₹174.07
184 g wax ₹110.33 + 16 g oil ₹57.84 average + one wick ₹5.90
Worked out above: oils ₹3,068 + ₹2,891 + ₹3,908.16 = ₹9,867.16 for 2.8 kg; plus wax ₹17,389 and wicks ₹1,180 gives ₹28,436.16. Wax per gram = ₹17,389 ÷ 29,000 = ₹0.59962, so 184 g = ₹110.33. Oil in one candle is scent-specific: 16 g × ₹3.068 = ₹49.09 for British Rose, 16 × ₹2.891 = ₹46.26 for Citronella and 16 × ₹4.8852 = ₹78.16 for Mahogany Shea, averaging ₹57.84 across fifty candles of each. One wick is ₹5.90 at every listed pack size, so a finished candle consumes ₹110.33 + ₹57.84 + ₹5.90 = ₹174.07. The order total divided by 150 candles is ₹189.57, and the gap is surplus that carries into the next run — 400 g of oil and 1.4 kg of wax. Had all three oils been bought as full kilos the oils would have cost ₹10,844.20, which is ₹540.44 more for 600 g more oil, or another 37 candles.
Above 1 kg: the ceiling and the quote
This is where supplier pages start inventing numbers, so here is what is and is not published. Across all 107 fragrance-oil listings, 1 kg is the largest pack size listed. There is no 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance bottle, no published bulk schedule, no minimum order and no stated lead time. What you can do honestly is multiply: 3 kg of British Rose is three 1 kg bottles at ₹3,068 each, so ₹9,204, and 5 kg of Citronella is ₹14,455. Those are ceilings at listed pricing, not quotes. For recurring monthly volumes, mixed orders across several oils, or GST invoicing arranged in advance, message the bulk line with the oils, the quantities and the timing. This page will not print what that conversation produces, because it depends on all three.
Two related gaps, said plainly because they affect a Ranchi maker planning a large run. Soy wax is listed up to 10 kg on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and up to 50 kg on Natural Soy Pearl Wax, but there is no 25 kg or 100 kg listing for most waxes — so a 100 kg wax requirement is a combination of the largest listed packs plus a quote. And CSI lists no candle-making machinery at all: no moulding, filling or wicking machines. If your run has outgrown a hand pour, the honest answer is that this is not the shelf for it, though the 1 litre electric melter at ₹2,360 and the larger imported melter do exist and are what makers in cooler rooms keep recommending in the reviews.
The CSI principle
Wholesale is a division, not a negotiation. Pack price divided by grams, one oil at a time.
Every rupee of volume advantage on this store is already printed on the listing. The buyer who does two divisions before a 3 kg order will beat the buyer who spends a week asking for a trade rate that was never there.
Run priced and ready? British Rose 1 kg ₹3,068, Citronella 1 kg ₹2,891, Mahogany Shea 500 g ₹2,442.60. One kilogram is the largest listed fragrance pack — for more than that, or for a recurring monthly order with GST invoicing arranged in advance, send the oils, quantities and timing to the bulk line.
The trade discount you are hunting for is printed five times on every listing. It is called the pack size.

Why trust this guide
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and does not blend the fragrance oils or manufacture the wax it sells. A page that wanted to sell more oil would tell you the kilo is always the wholesale answer. This one shows you the 41 oils where the kilo costs exactly the same per gram as 100 g, and the one oil where buying 800 g instead of a kilo costs ₹885 extra. There is no CSI shop, warehouse or dealer in Ranchi, no published transit time, courier or shipping rate, and no regional pricing — CSI ships across India and takes bulk orders on WhatsApp, and that is the whole claim.
Every price and pack size here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Per-gram figures are computed from those listed prices and the working is set out above. Stated loads, cure times and flash points are quoted only where a page publishes them — flash points only where a measured value is given — and where a page states nothing, as on Mahogany Shea, the text says so. No shelf life, storage specification, throw distance, discount schedule, minimum order or lead time appears here, because none is published. The seasonal notes describe general material behaviour, not Ranchi weather statistics.

Frequently asked questions
Does CSI offer wholesale prices on fragrance oils for Ranchi buyers?
There is no separate wholesale tier, trade card, dealer rate or regional price — a buyer in Ranchi pays the same listed prices as everyone else. The volume pricing is the pack ladder: 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg are each priced individually, and the price per gram usually falls as the pack grows. The median fall from 15 g to 1 kg across the range is 25%, and on Citronella it is 69%. For quantities above the 1 kg pack, bulk pricing and GST invoicing are arranged on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
Which pack size gives the best price per gram?
Usually the largest one, but by much less than buyers expect, and on 41 oils not at all. Of the 86 oils in stock in both 100 g and 1 kg, 41 cost exactly the same per gram at both sizes, 32 fall by under 10%, and only 13 fall by 10% or more. The reliably big step is the first one — 15 g to 50 g, where the price per gram often halves. Do the division yourself for your oil: pack price ÷ grams, at your rung and the one above.
How much oil does a 150-candle run need, and what does it cost?
At an 8% load in 200 g candles, 2.4 kg of oil and 27.6 kg of wax — 16 g and 184 g per candle. Across three scents that is 800 g each. Bought at the best rung for each oil, three scents come to ₹9,867.16; with 29 kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹17,389 and 200 Eco Candle Wicks at ₹1,180, the order is ₹28,436.16 excluding vessels. One finished candle consumes ₹174.07 of wax, oil and wick — ₹110.33, ₹57.84 and ₹5.90.
Can I buy 5 kg of one fragrance oil?
Not as a listed pack. 1 kg is the largest fragrance size on the store, across all 107 listings — there is no 5 kg or 10 kg bottle. What you can do is multiply the kilo price to get your ceiling at listed pricing: 5 kg of Citronella is ₹14,455, 3 kg of British Rose is ₹9,204. Then message the bulk line with the oil, the quantity and the timing for a quote on the actual volume. CSI publishes no bulk discount schedule and no minimum order quantity, so treat any figure you have not seen on a product page as unverified.
Is it cheaper to buy 800 g as one 500 g plus three 100 g bottles, or a full kilo?
It depends entirely on the oil, and the two answers can be hundreds of rupees apart. On Citronella, 500 g plus three 100 g bottles costs ₹3,776 while a full kilo is ₹2,891 — the kilo is ₹885 cheaper for 200 g more oil. On Mahogany Shea, the same split costs ₹3,908.16 against ₹4,885.20 for a kilo at an identical ₹4.8852 a gram, so the split saves ₹977.04. On British Rose the kilo wins narrowly on price per gram. Always price both routes.
When should a Ranchi maker place a bulk order for the festive season?
Early enough that the cure, not the post, is the last thing between you and the date. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November, so with a 14–21 day cure, production should be poured by 18 October comfortably and 25 October at the latest; a 25 December handover wants pouring by 4–11 December. Ranchi's cool-season rooms make cure slower rather than faster, so take the long end. Buy for Durga Puja, Diwali, Christmas and the wedding weeks in one order rather than four — no page publishes a delivery time, so the only variable you fully control is when you order.
Buy the rung, not the rumour
Two divisions per oil. That is the whole of wholesale buying here — and on one oil it is worth 69%.

Across the 49 oils with both a 15 g and a 1 kg size in stock the median fall is 25%, the largest Citronella at 69% and the smallest Saffron Cedarwood at under 1%. Of the 86 oils in stock in both 100 g and 1 kg: 41 identical per gram, 32 falling by under 10%, 13 falling by 10% or more (Citronella 62%, Honeydew Melon 22%, Mango Coconut 21%, Verbena 20%, Eucalyptus Spearmint 13%, Lemongrass and Lime 12%). Run arithmetic, on the series convention that a 200 g candle at an 8% load is 184 g wax + 16 g oil: 150 candles need 2,400 g of oil and 27,600 g of wax; 800 g per scent; wax rounded to 29 kg for a 5% planning allowance. 800 g routes — British Rose ₹1,593 + 3 × ₹342.20 = ₹2,619.60 (₹3.2745/g) against ₹3,068 for the kilo (₹3.068/g); Citronella ₹1,475 + 3 × ₹767 = ₹3,776 against ₹2,891 (₹885 less for 200 g more); Mahogany Shea ₹2,442.60 + 3 × ₹488.52 = ₹3,908.16 against ₹4,885.20, both ₹4.8852/g (₹977.04 saved). Chosen order: ₹3,068 + ₹2,891 + ₹3,908.16 = ₹9,867.16 of oil for 2.8 kg; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 2 × 10 kg ₹5,999 + 5 kg ₹2,995 + 4 × 1 kg ₹599 = ₹17,389 for 29 kg (₹599.62/kg, ₹0.59962/g, so 184 g = ₹110.33); Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 2 × 100 ₹590 = ₹1,180 at ₹5.90 each, flat from 10 to 1,000 wicks. Order total ₹28,436.16, or ₹189.57 per candle over 150; consumed per candle ₹110.33 of wax (₹0.59962/g × 184) + ₹57.84 of oil (the average of ₹49.09, ₹46.26 and ₹78.16 across fifty candles of each scent) + ₹5.90 of wick = ₹174.07, the gap being 400 g of surplus oil and 1.4 kg of surplus wax. Three full kilos instead would cost ₹10,844.20, ₹540.44 more for 600 g more oil (37 further candles).
