Which CSI jars actually list a 50-pack

CSI's Containers For Candle Making collection holds about eighty listings — glass jars, votives, tins, ceramics and a few speciality vessels. Most are sold singly or in packs of 5, 10, 12 or 20. The seven listings below are the exceptions: a single pack of fifty and a matching pack of a hundred, at a published price. They fall into three jar lines, and each line behaves differently once you look at the price per jar.

Two practical notes on these listings. First, the 63 mm lug cap appears in the Salsa jars' titles; the product descriptions do not give a jar height or diameter, so if your label or box depends on exact dimensions, measure a sample jar before you order your packaging. Second, the product link for the amber Salsa jar contains the word "blue" — a leftover in the web address, not a different jar. The title and the photograph are what you are buying.

Where 50 changes the price per jar — and where it doesn't

The reason a 50-pack exists is usually a lower price per jar. On CSI's listings that is true for two of the three lines and false for the third. The table compares buying fifty as one pack against buying the same fifty in the smallest listed pack.

The clear Salsa jar is the standout. Its per-jar price falls by ₹10.62 the moment you move from fives to fifty, and does not fall again at a hundred. That makes fifty the natural first bulk order for this jar: you capture the whole listed price break without committing to a hundred. Anyone buying clear Salsa jars in fives for a production run is paying ₹531 per fifty for the privilege.

The coloured Salsa jars work the other way. At ₹62 in every pack, the 50-pack is a convenience, not a saving — which is useful, because it means you can split fifty across colours at no extra cost. Ten 5-packs across the five colours come to exactly ₹3,100. A red-and-green festive pair (25 + 25) is five 5-packs of each, also ₹3,100. Colour costs ₹32.50 a jar more than clear, or ₹1,625 across fifty; whether that is worth it depends on whether the coloured glass does a job your label would otherwise have to do.

Building 50 from 10-packs and 5-packs

The matte and frosted jars, the votives, the shiny 120 gm jars and the apothecary-style Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid are listed in packs of 5, 10 or 20. On every one of them the price per jar is identical across pack sizes, so five 10-packs cost exactly what a hypothetical 50-pack at the same rate would. The table sets out what fifty costs in each, with the stated capacity so you can compare like with like.

The matte row deserves a second look if you are planning a first collection. Fourteen colours are in stock at the same ₹708 per ten — black, black glossy, black frosted, brown, clear frosted, frosted blue, green, maroon, orange, pink, purple, red, royal blue and white. Fifty jars can be five colours of ten for ₹3,540, exactly the price of fifty in one colour. A five-scent launch where each scent has its own jar colour is therefore a design decision with no pack penalty at all. A few of these pages carry copy from a sibling colour (the Black Frosted page calls itself Black Matte, for instance); the title, the photograph and the stated 200 ml, 8 cm × 7 cm are consistent across the range.

Stated capacity, millilitres and the one-jar weigh test

A jar's capacity decides how much wax, fragrance oil and money every candle takes, so it is the number you multiply by fifty. CSI's jar pages state capacity in two different units, and the difference matters. Gram-stated jars — the 150g Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, the 120 gm shiny jars, the ~70g votives and the 50g heart jar — describe a wax fill. Millilitre-stated jars — the 200ml Salsa jars, the 200 ml matte range and the 40ml Mini jars — describe a volume, and a volume is not a weight.

Two things separate "200 ml" from the grams of candle you will actually pour. Wax is lighter than water, so a millilitre of wax weighs less than a gram. And nobody fills a candle jar to the brim: you stop below the rim, at whatever line looks right under the lid and leaves room for the flame. Neither of those can be read off a product page. Both can be measured in ten minutes with a scale.

What a finished candle costs in each jar

Here is the material cost of one candle and of fifty, jar by jar. The fill uses Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599 per kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at its 1 kg price of ₹5,221, at an 8% fragrance load calculated as a share of the finished candle (the Chunks page phrases its 8–13% range as a share of total wax weight; this series keeps the finished-candle convention throughout). Every candle gets one Eco Candle Wick Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 — Thick (C2) at ₹9.44 for coloured Salsa, whose page states that pairing — and one wick sticker at ₹2.50. For gram-stated jars the stated fill is treated as the finished candle weight.

For the millilitre-stated jars the fixed part of the cost is known and the fill part waits for your scale. Every 10 g of finished candle costs ₹9.69 in wax and oil on the assumptions above (9.2 g of wax at ₹0.599 plus 0.8 g of oil at ₹5.221). So a clear Salsa jar is ₹37.90 + ₹9.69 per 10 g (₹29.50 jar, ₹5.90 wick, ₹2.50 sticker); a coloured Salsa jar with a C2 wick ₹73.94 + ₹9.69 per 10 g; a matte 200 ml jar ₹79.20 + ₹9.69 per 10 g; a Mini jar ₹32 + ₹9.69 per 10 g.

To see what that means, take 160 g as a purely illustrative weighed fill — not a figure any page states. At 160 g the wax and oil come to ₹155 (₹88.17 + ₹66.83), so the clear Salsa candle is ₹192.90, the coloured Salsa candle ₹228.94 and the matte candle ₹234.20. Fifty clear Salsa candles at that fill would be ₹9,645 in materials, of which the jars are ₹1,475 — just 15%. In the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid the jar is 38% of the candle. That is the real difference between these jars: not ₹29.50 against ₹94.40, but how much of the candle's cost sits in glass you can see versus wax and oil you can smell.

The costed 50-candle order

A fifty-jar order is really a fifty-candle order, and it is cheaper to place the whole thing once than to discover on pour day that you are short of stickers. Swap the jar and the first line changes; weigh your fill and the wax and oil lines change with it.

The order total is higher than the ₹12,405.50 material cost of fifty candles because packs don't come in exact quantities: you are carrying 400 g of Lavender, about 600 g of wax, ten wicks and twenty stickers into the next batch. That is the right way round. Running out of oil at candle forty-one costs a second delivery; carrying 400 g of a proven scent costs nothing but shelf space. When the jars arrive, count them against the invoice, look over each rim and base in good light before washing, and set aside any you would not sell. Wash and dry every jar fully — a damp jar or a greasy fingerprint on the base is the usual reason a wick sticker lets go.
