What does that cost per batch? ₹156, ₹312 and ₹624 for Vybar; ₹89.70 to ₹209.30 for microcrystalline across its pillar range. That is ₹1.65–₹11.48 per 200 g candle.
In what order do additives go in? Melt the wax and any microcrystalline fully; add Vybar to the melted wax before fragrance and colour, as its page states; then fragrance, then dye. Lacquer goes on the finished, fully cooled candle.
Problem, additive, stated dose
At hobby scale, an additive is something you try. At production scale, it is something you pay for on every batch for as long as the product exists, so it needs a job description. The table below starts from the defects that actually cost commercial producers money — rejects, returns and unsellable stock — and works right: what to rule out before reaching for an additive, which CSI additive's product page makes a relevant claim, what dose that page states, and what it means for a 10 kg batch. Where no CSI additive addresses a defect, the table says so.

Additives per melter batch
Commercial production happens in melter loads, not candles, so that is the unit additives should be weighed in. CSI lists an Electric Wax Melter in 10 kg (₹21,240) and 20 kg (₹25,960) capacity versions, and one customer who has used the 10 kg model for nine months describes 10 kg of wax melting "in mere 20-30 minutes" — a customer's experience, not a specification. The table gives each stated dose for a 1 kg test pot, a 10 kg batch and a 20 kg batch. At 184 g of wax per 200 g candle, a 10 kg batch is about 54 candles and a 20 kg batch about 108.

Rupees per batch are calculated at the per-gram price; in practice you buy whole packs. Microcrystalline comes as 500 g (₹149) and 1 kg (₹299) slabs, so a 700 g dose leaves 300 g of an opened slab for the next batch. Vybar comes as 50 g (₹156) and 100 g (₹312), which fit 10 kg and 20 kg batches at soy rates exactly. That neat fit is one reason soy container producers find Vybar easy to standardise: one sealed 50 g pack per 10 kg batch at 0.5% means no weighing from an open bag at all — though you should still check-weigh the pack.
Microcrystalline wax has one more production note. Its page gives the melting point only as "High (varies by batch)" and says to melt thoroughly and stir well. In a large melter, chop or break the slab dose into smaller pieces so it melts through with the base wax rather than sitting as a lump, and confirm the melt is fully clear of pieces before fragrance goes in. Cutting slabs is also where a sturdy steel scraper (₹236) earns its place on the bench.
Order of addition on a production line
Additives go wrong on production lines less often through the wrong dose than through the wrong sequence under time pressure. The only order of addition CSI states is Vybar's — into melted wax before fragrance and colour — and the microcrystalline page's instruction to melt thoroughly and stir well. The standard operating sequence below builds around those two statements and your base wax's own stated temperatures.
The production additives, pack by pack
Three CSI products do most of the additive work on a production line; the fourth, stearic acid, only joins once your own test has fixed a rate. Each card's size table counts how many 10 kg-batch doses a pack holds at a stated rate, because on a production floor that is the unit that matters.

Batch records and quality checks for additive lines
A batch record is what turns an additive from a habit into a controlled input. It is also the only way to answer the question every growing candle business eventually faces: "this week's candles are different — what changed?" The fields below take under a minute per batch to fill in, and they are the minimum needed to trace an additive problem back to a cause.

The last row is the one that pays for the others. If your microcrystalline line records zero cracks for twelve weeks running, you have evidence that the additive is working — and a reason to run one control batch without it to see whether it is still needed. If the defect count creeps up while the additive line is unchanged, the cause is almost certainly elsewhere: wax delivery, workshop temperature, pour temperature or fragrance. Without the record, all you have is a feeling that "the candles aren't as good lately".
Keep one retained candle from every batch for at least as long as that batch is on sale, boxed and labelled. When a stockist reports a problem, burn the retained candle beside a fresh one from a recent batch. That single comparison resolves most complaints faster than any amount of speculation — and it tells you whether the problem is in the batch, in the storage, or in the customer's room.
Monthly consumption and reorder points
Here is a worked example for an illustrative candle business running two lines: a soy container line pouring 60 kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks a month with Vybar at 0.5%, and a soy pillar line pouring 20 kg of Soy Pillar Wax a month with microcrystalline at 5%. The business is an example to show the method, not a customer.

Two lessons come out of that table. First, additives are 2.6% of the wax spend in this example — which is why running out of them is so frustrating: a ₹312 pack of Vybar can stop a line holding ₹6,000 bags of wax. Second, the monthly additive quantity is fully determined by the wax plan, so the reorder point is mechanical. A simple rule works: order additives in the same basket as the wax they will go into, and never let additive stock fall below the next full batch. For the soy line above, that means three 100 g packs of Vybar travel with every six 10 kg bags.
Standardise before you scale
The most expensive additive mistake in commercial production is not a wrong dose; it is recipe sprawl. A business with twelve scents that runs Vybar at 0.5% in six of them, 1% in four and none in two has created three production recipes for one wax — three sets of cups, three chances to mix them up and three times the testing every time the wax delivery changes. At 54 candles a batch, a mix-up is not one bad candle; it is a batch.
The fix is to standardise additives per base wax, not per scent. Choose one rate for the soy container line and prove it with your hardest scent — usually the darkest, heaviest or most heavily dyed one. If it works there, it will almost always be adequate for the lighter scents. Do the same for the pillar line with microcrystalline. When a single scent genuinely cannot work at the standard rate, that is a reason to question the scent in that wax, not to add a fourth recipe. Standardisation also makes supplier conversations shorter. "Vybar at 0.5% on 60 kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks a month, microcrystalline at 5% on 20 kg of Soy Pillar Wax" is a quote request CSI can price in one message, alongside the wax, wicks and jars it goes with.
