Working around the blank lines on CSI's container wax specs

The comparison above marks the gaps. This section is about what to do with each one. A blank line is not a fault in the wax; it is a question you have to answer yourself, or put to CSI, before you rely on it.

Pearl and Eco Soy CSI 400: no fragrance load

Neither product page publishes a fragrance load. That does not mean the wax cannot hold fragrance. It means nobody has put a ceiling in writing. Test at the 8% of total candle weight that CSI uses for its own candle maths, and do not climb above it until you have either asked CSI for a figure or proved a higher load yourself across a full cure and burn. Eco Soy's page does give one handling instruction: add fragrance at 80–90°C and stir for 2 minutes.

CSI 464: one temperature range for two jobs

CSI 464's page lists 80–90°C as both its melt point and its pour temperature. Those are normally different figures, so read the listing as incomplete. Ask CSI which temperature they recommend for adding fragrance and which for pouring, and record your own results. For contrast, CSI 468 is the only wax in this group that publishes a separate melt point (50–53°C) and pour temperature (58–60°C).

Shelf life: stated on two, silent on three

CSI 464 and CSI 468 both state 60 months under cool, dry storage. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, Pearl and Eco Soy CSI 400 publish no shelf life. If you are buying any of those three in quantity, ask for a figure, and buy only what your storage and sales can turn over.

Mistake: ranking waxes by headline loads measured on different bases. Chunks state 13% of wax weight, while CSI 464 and CSI 468 state their loads without saying which base they use. A percentage of wax weight works out lower as a share of the finished candle. Read the exact wording on each page, and ask CSI which base applies, before you treat 13% against 10% as a straight comparison.

Pearl's “soy-blend”

Pearl is described as a soy-blend container wax, and the rest of the blend is not published. If you sell candles as 100% soy, choose CSI 464 or Eco Soy CSI 400, both described as 100% soy, or ask CSI what else is in Pearl before you print a label.

Get it in writing
Where a spec matters to your label or your customer, ask CSI on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926) to confirm it in a message you can keep. A number in writing beats a number remembered.

Argue against interest
Buy the wax your candle needs, not the bag that looks professional.
We would sell more by telling you to buy 10 kg. On most of our waxes it is not cheaper per kilogram, and wax you cannot use before summer is a storage problem.
Price the candle, not the kilogram.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We publish every pack price, so every per-kilogram and per-candle figure here can be checked against the product pages — including the ones that show a bigger bag is not cheaper.

Prices are taken from live CSI stock in September 2026. Where a product page does not publish a specification, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.

Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹5.90 each; Thick (C2) ₹9.44 each. Microcrystalline and Vybar usage rates are as stated on their product pages. Collection counts: Candle Wax 15, Fragrance Oils 93, Candle Wicks 7, Containers 81, Moulds 62, Dyes 25.

Assumptions: Fragrance load 8% of total candle weight, so wax is 92% of the fill (a 200 g candle = 184 g wax + 16 g oil). Order plans add a 5% wastage allowance (10% where stated for festive buffers). "Cheapest listed packs" is the lowest-cost combination of listed pack sizes, preferring fewer bags when prices tie within a few rupees. Candle counts are rounded down. Costs are core materials only and exclude jar, label, packaging, labour, freight and GST unless stated. Wax stated fragrance maximums are the wax maker's formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Pack sizes not listed on the store (2, 20, 25, 100 kg) are shown as combinations of listed packs; larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
