Candle Fragrance Oil 1 Kg Price for Buyers in Bhubaneswar

What does that mean per candle? Divide the kilo price by 1,000 and multiply by the grams of oil in your candle. A 200 g candle at 8% holds 16 g, so the median kilo puts ₹103.98 of oil in it. A 70 g votive holds 5.6 g — ₹36.39. A 500 g three-wick holds 40 g — ₹259.96.
Is the kilo cheaper per gram than two 500 g bottles? Only sometimes. Of the 72 listings that price both, 32 make the kilo cheaper, 21 price it identically, and 19 make it dearer — on two of those the kilo costs ₹1,699.20 more than the same weight bought as two 500 g bottles.
Can I buy more than 1 kg? Not from a listed pack: 1 kg is the largest fragrance size CSI lists. Above that you buy multiple kilos at the listed rate, or send the scent list and the quantity to WhatsApp for a quote. No quoted figure is published anywhere, and this page will not invent one.
One kilo, four candle sizes
Start with the arithmetic, because it is the whole guide in one line: oil cost per candle = kilo price ÷ 1,000 × grams of oil. The grams come from your load, and in this series load is expressed as a share of the finished candle — a 200 g candle at 8% is 184 g of wax and 16 g of oil. Some product pages phrase their percentage as a share of total wax weight instead, which nudges the gram figure up slightly; if you are working to a costing sheet, pick one convention, write it at the top of the sheet and never mix them mid-season.
The table below runs seven named live kilos spanning the range through four candle sizes a Bhubaneswar maker realistically pours: a 70 g votive for temple and festival sets, a 120 g jar for gifting and hampers, a 200 g jar for regular retail, and a 500 g three-wick for the premium candle in a collection. Read down a column, not across a row — the column is your business.
| Fragrance oil | 1 kg price | Per gram | 70 g votive 8% · 5.6 g |
120 g jar 10% · 12 g |
200 g jar 8% · 16 g |
500 g three-wick 8% · 40 g |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon — cheapest live kilo | ₹2,832 | ₹2.83 | ₹15.86 | ₹33.98 | ₹45.31 | ₹113.28 |
| Royal Apricot | ₹3,667 | ₹3.67 | ₹20.54 | ₹44 | ₹58.67 | ₹146.68 |
| Woody Oud | ₹4,531.20 | ₹4.53 | ₹25.37 | ₹54.37 | ₹72.50 | ₹181.25 |
| Mint Sandalwood | ₹4,999 | ₹5 | ₹27.99 | ₹59.99 | ₹79.98 | ₹199.96 |
| Lavender | ₹5,221 | ₹5.22 | ₹29.24 | ₹62.65 | ₹83.54 | ₹208.84 |
| Spicy Cinnamon — the median kilo | ₹6,499 | ₹6.50 | ₹36.39 | ₹77.99 | ₹103.98 | ₹259.96 |
| Lavender Oud | ₹12,000 | ₹12 | ₹67.20 | ₹144 | ₹192 | ₹480 |
Two conclusions fall out of the grid. First, votives forgive expensive oil and three-wicks do not: the gap between Citrus Lemon and Lavender Oud is ₹9,168 a kilo, but ₹51.34 in a votive and ₹366.72 in a 500 g three-wick. If your festive range is mostly small vessels you can afford scents you assumed were out of reach; if your hero product is a big three-wick, the kilo price is its largest variable line. Second, the move most makers actually make is from the cheapest kilo to the median one, and on a 200 g candle that costs ₹58.67.
Where the 87 kilos actually sit
The range is not evenly spread and the extremes are a distraction. Sixteen of the 87 buyable kilos are under ₹4,000, and seven are above ₹12,000 — those seven are concentrated fine-perfume oils that belong to one signature candle, not to a collection. Everything a working range is built from sits in the ₹4,000–₹8,000 middle, which is where the ₹6,499 median lands.
| Band (1 kg price) | Live kilos | Oil in a 200 g candle at 8% | Oil in a 120 g jar at 10% | What this band is realistically for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Under ₹4,000 | 16 | ₹45.31 – ₹63.98 | ₹33.98 – ₹47.99 | Volume lines: votives, tealight sets, temple and festival packs, wedding favours in hundreds |
| ₹4,000 – ₹5,999 | 24 | ₹66.84 – ₹95.98 | ₹50.13 – ₹71.99 | The everyday retail core — most single-wick 200 g jars sit here |
| ₹6,000 – ₹7,999 | 22 | ₹96.29 – ₹127.98 | ₹72.22 – ₹95.99 | Step-up and gifting scents; the median kilo is in this band |
| ₹8,000 – ₹11,999 | 18 | ₹128.51 – ₹191.98 | ₹96.38 – ₹143.99 | Premium and hamper candles where the scent is the reason for the price |
| ₹12,000 and above | 7 | ₹192 – ₹384.90 | ₹144 – ₹288.67 | One signature candle, or a perfume and diffuser line alongside the candles |
Now the part the price never tells you. The median kilo is Spicy Cinnamon, whose page gives a complete top–heart–base structure — cinnamon bark and pink pepper over clove, nutmeg and soft vanilla, on amber, tonka and sandalwood — and then stops: no stated load, no flash point, no discolouration note. British Rose at less than half the price states a soy load, a measured flash point of 192°C and 0% vanillin with no discolouration. Paying more did not buy more information.
The three ways a kilo ladder behaves
Seventy-two of the 107 fragrance listings price both a 500 g and a 1 kg pack, which makes them the only fair test of whether a kilo is good value as a kilogram. Run every one of them and the catalogue splits three ways.
| Behaviour | Listings | A live example | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kilo is cheaper per gram | 32 | Cinnamon — kilo ₹5,310 against two 500 g bottles at ₹5,900; a ₹590 saving | Buy the kilo if you will genuinely use it inside one season. The saving is real and it compounds across a festive run. |
| Kilo is priced identically | 21 | Spicy Cinnamon — kilo ₹6,499 against two 500 g bottles at ₹6,498; a ₹1 difference | Buy on handling, not price. Two sealed 500 g bottles are easier to keep closed through a humid season than one part-used kilo. |
| Kilo is dearer per gram | 19 | Sage and Cedarwood — kilo ₹6,867.60 against two 500 g bottles at ₹5,168.40; the kilo costs ₹1,699.20 more | Buy two 500 g bottles. Same kilogram, same page, lower total — and you keep the second bottle sealed. |
Most of the 19 dearer cases are trivial — a rupee here or there from rounding. Two are not: Sage and Cedarwood and Saffron Cedarwood both list 500 g at ₹2,584.20 and 1 kg at ₹6,867.60, so buying that kilogram as two bottles saves ₹1,699.20 and costs nothing but a second cap. The 35 remaining listings have no 500 g rung at all, so there is no comparison to run — including two of the four picks below.
Four kilos worth naming
Four live kilos, chosen so that each one answers a different price question rather than a different scent question. Each card shows the whole listed ladder, the price per kilogram at each rung, and how many 200 g candles at 8% each pack fills. The per-candle figure under each card is the oil line only — wax, wick, vessel and label sit on top of it.

What ₹10,000 of fragrance buys
Most makers do not decide "which kilo" — they decide how to spend a fragrance budget. Turn the question round: fix the spend at ₹10,000 of oil and see what comes back in candles. This is where a kilo price stops being an abstraction, because the same money buys eight times as many candles at one end of the range as at the other.
| Oil | 1 kg price | Grams for ₹10,000 | 200 g candles at 8% | 120 g jars at 10% | Wax you would need behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon | ₹2,832 | 3,531 g | ≈220 | ≈294 | ≈40.6 kg for the 200 g route |
| Royal Apricot | ₹3,667 | 2,727 g | ≈170 | ≈227 | ≈31.4 kg |
| Spicy Cinnamon | ₹6,499 | 1,539 g | ≈96 | ≈128 | ≈17.7 kg |
| The dearest live kilo in the range | ₹24,056 | 416 g | ≈26 | ≈34 | ≈4.8 kg |
The wax column is the one people forget. At the median kilo a 200 g candle carries ₹103.98 of oil against ₹110.22 of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599 a kilo — the wax is still the bigger line. Cross roughly ₹6,900 a kilo and the oil becomes the larger of the two. Knowing which side of that line your range sits on tells you where your next hour of cost work belongs.
An opened kilo in a coastal workroom
Bhubaneswar sits close enough to the coast that humid air is the default condition for most of the year, not an event: the hot-humid season is long, the monsoon is emphatic, and the genuinely dry weeks are few. That changes how much of a kilo you should open at once, and what a finished candle does between your bench and a customer's table. Everything below is general material behaviour you can verify yourself in a week; no product page states a storage instruction or a shelf life, and this guide will not invent one.
| What you notice | What is actually happening | The adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| A part-used kilo smells flatter at the top than the bottle did when new | Every opening exchanges the air above the oil, and the lightest top notes are the most volatile. A kilo opened twenty times has been aired twenty times | Decant a working bottle. Pour 100–150 g into a small clean bottle for the week's pours and keep the kilo closed between decants |
| Condensation on a cold bottle or a cold jar as soon as it is out on the bench | Warm, moist air meeting a cooler surface. Water in a candle is a wick and adhesion problem, not a fragrance problem | Let bottles and glass reach room temperature before you open or pour. Wipe every jar dry and warm it slightly before pouring |
| Finished soy candles soft to the touch, and a high-load surface beading | Soy is a soft wax; warmth makes it softer, and a load near the top of the stated band leaves less structure to hold the oil | Through the hot-humid months hold the load at the lower end of the band, use a heavier vessel, and let candles cool fully before boxing. See why your candle is sweating fragrance oil |
| Frosting, uneven tops or dull surfaces during monsoon weeks | Cooling rate and ambient moisture, not the oil. Soy shows every change in room conditions on its surface | Keep pouring conditions boring: same room, same time of day, no fan on the cooling tray. Log the conditions with the recipe |
Now join that to the calendar, because a kilo is a cash decision and Bhubaneswar's selling year is compressed. Durga Puja comes first, in the weeks before Diwali; Diwali falls on 8 November 2026; the Kartik observances follow about a fortnight later; the wedding weeks run on into the cooler months. Four peaks inside roughly three months, then a long quiet stretch. A kilo bought for a scent that sells through all four is working capital; a kilo bought for a scent that suits one of them is a bottle you will be looking at in March.
Above one kilo: multiply, then ask
CSI lists fragrance oils in five sizes — 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg — and not every listing carries all five. There is no 2 kg, 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance pack anywhere in the range. So the honest answer to "what does 5 kg cost?" has two parts. The first part is the listed ceiling: five separate kilos at the listed kilo price, which is the most you would ever pay. The second part is that recurring and multi-kilo volumes are quoted on WhatsApp against a named oil and a quantity — and because no quoted figure is published, nobody should tell you in advance what it will be. Certainly not a blog post.
| Quantity | How it is actually bought | At the median kilo (₹6,499) | At ₹3,667 a kilo | 200 g candles at 8% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 kg | One listed 1 kg pack | ₹6,499 | ₹3,667 | ≈62 |
| 2 kg | Two listed 1 kg packs | ₹12,998 | ₹7,334 | ≈125 |
| 5 kg | Five listed 1 kg packs | ₹32,495 | ₹18,335 | ≈312 |
| 10 kg | Ten listed 1 kg packs — send this one to WhatsApp | ₹64,990 | ₹36,670 | ≈625 |
Those totals are ceilings, not quotes. They are useful for exactly one thing: putting a number on a purchase order before you have a reply, so the order can be approved internally while the quote is being prepared. For the arithmetic behind a specific festive run, how much fragrance oil is needed for 500 Diwali candles works a full example, and where to order candle fragrance oils in bulk in Bhubaneswar stages the whole order across the season.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and is not a manufacturer of wax or fragrance oil. A page that wanted to sell more kilos would print the 87 prices and stop. This one tells you that on 21 listings the kilo saves you nothing at all and on 19 it costs you more, because a maker who buys the right pack reorders and a maker who has ₹40,000 of the wrong oil on a shelf does not.
Every price, pack size and count on this page comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing is always authoritative. The 87 live kilos, the ₹6,499 median and the 32 / 21 / 19 ladder split were counted across all 107 fragrance-oil listings. Stated loads, flash points and discolouration wording are quoted only where a product page states them; where a page states nothing — as the median kilo's page does — we say so rather than filling the gap from a similar scent. No page in the range states a shelf life or a storage instruction, so none is claimed here.
There is no CSI shop, counter or warehouse in Bhubaneswar, and no delivery time, courier or shipping rate is published — so none appears on this page. CSI ships across India and takes bulk orders on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926, where bulk pricing, GST invoicing and MSDS or IFRA documentation for a named oil are handled directly.

Figures verified September 2026: 107 fragrance-oil listings, of which 104 list a 1 kg pack and 87 have a buyable 1 kg; live 1 kg prices run ₹2,832 (Citrus Lemon) to ₹24,056, median ₹6,499 (Spicy Cinnamon). Band counts across the 87 live kilos: 16 under ₹4,000, 24 at ₹4,000–₹5,999, 22 at ₹6,000–₹7,999, 18 at ₹8,000–₹11,999, 7 at ₹12,000 and above. Ladder test across the 72 listings that price both 500 g and 1 kg: kilo cheaper per gram on 32, identical on 21, dearer on 19; Sage and Cedarwood and Saffron Cedarwood both list 500 g ₹2,584.20 and 1 kg ₹6,867.60, so 2 × 500 g = ₹5,168.40 and the kilo is ₹1,699.20 dearer; Cinnamon 500 g ₹2,950 (2 × = ₹5,900) against 1 kg ₹5,310, a ₹590 saving; Spicy Cinnamon 500 g ₹3,249 (2 × = ₹6,498) against 1 kg ₹6,499. Listed prices used: full ladders for the four picks appear in the "Priced above" line; kilo prices used elsewhere are Citrus Lemon ₹2,832, Royal Apricot ₹3,667, Mango Coconut ₹3,964, Woody Oud ₹4,531.20, Mint Sandalwood ₹4,999, Lavender ₹5,221, Spicy Cinnamon ₹6,499, Neroli ₹6,655.20, Vanilla Bean ₹7,646, Santal Noir ₹9,120, Lavender Oud ₹12,000, and Luxury Soy Wax Chunks ₹599 a kilo. Assumptions stated: fragrance load is a percentage of the finished candle — 200 g at 8% = 184 g wax + 16 g oil; 120 g at 10% = 108 g + 12 g; 70 g at 8% = 64.4 g + 5.6 g; 500 g at 8% = 460 g + 40 g. Oil cost per candle = kilo price ÷ 1,000 × grams of oil; grams for ₹10,000 = 10,000 ÷ kilo price × 1,000; candle counts rounded down. Stated page facts quoted: Royal Apricot 7–10% (start 7%) and its low-to-moderate cream-toning note; Mint Sandalwood 7–10% (start 7%) and its moderate cream-to-amber note; Woody Oud 6–10% for soy with a 48–72 hour cure; British Rose flash point 192°C and 0% vanillin; Spicy Cinnamon states a note structure only. Loads are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. No CSI fragrance page states a shelf life, storage instruction or expiry, and none is claimed here; humidity guidance is general material behaviour, not a published specification, and no local climate figure is asserted. Diwali 2026 is 8 November. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
