CSI Wick Diagnosis · Tall Flame, Short Pool
The flame says too much. The pool says not enough. Wicking down only listens to the flame, and the candle tunnels. Here is what a tall flame over a narrow pool really means, the four free checks, and the 2×2 test that changes the system instead of the size.

Cotton Braided 10 + Eco C1 20: every wick for the 2×2 test · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
My candle has a very tall flame, but the melt pool still doesn't reach the glass. Why not just wick down? Because the pool is already too narrow, and a smaller wick makes less heat. You would trade a tall flame for a deeper tunnel. A tall flame over a narrow pool means the heat is going up instead of out. The usual reasons are a long or capped wick, an off-centre wick, a heavy oil clogging it, or a jar too wide for one wick.

What do I check first? Four free checks, in order. Was the burn long enough (roughly one hour per 2.5 cm of width, past burn one)? Is the flame still tall after a 5–6 mm trim with the cap removed? Is the wick centred and upright? Does the same wick reach the glass in an unscented candle?

What if it passes all four? Then the jar is too wide for that wick, whatever the flame height. Change the system, not the size: test a different construction (Cotton Braided, whose page says "exceeding 8 cm") against two smaller wicks (a C1 pair).

What do I buy? For the 2×2 test (wick system × your oil or unscented), one Cotton Braided 10-pack (₹120.00) and one Eco C1 20-pack (₹118.00): ₹238.00. Holders for the pairs if you have none. Nothing in bulk until three candles of one system pass to the end of the jar.
The short answer
The contradiction: flame height measures how much fuel the wick lifts; pool width measures how far its heat reaches across the jar. A tall flame that does not widen the pool is delivering heat in the wrong place.
Why wicking down backfires: a smaller wick lowers the flame and narrows the pool further: tunnelling, a thicker ring of wasted wax, and sometimes a drowned wick. If the cause was a cap or a heavy oil, the smaller wick caps too.
The checks: session length and burn number → trim and cap → centring and lean → unscented control. Each one can end the search for free.
The test: a 2×2 of wick system (Cotton Braided single vs C1 pair) × oil (yours vs unscented), three candles a cell plus three controls on your current wick: 15 candles, burned to the end.
Tall flame, short pool: the cause tree Each branch to the right ends the search. Judgement-based order. Tall flame + pool short of the glass 1 · Long enough burn? About 1 h per 2.5 cm of width, and past burn one? No: burn longer first Not a wick verdict yet. Retest at full session length. yes 2 · Still tall after trimming? Trimmed to 5–6 mm, cap removed, relit in still air? No: length or cap did it The wick may be too small for the width: see the 2×2. yes 3 · Centred and upright? Equal wick-to-wall distance all round; no lean? No: re-centre it Holder at pour, retest. Off-centre fakes this symptom. yes 4 · Reaches the glass unscented? Same wick and jar, poured without fragrance? Yes: the oil is in the way Oil caps or starves the wick. Test the oil or the load. no: still narrow Jar too wide for that wick Test Cotton Braided single against a C1 pair: the 2×2 below. Not this: wick down Shorter flame, narrower pool, a deeper tunnel every burn. The tall flame is the symptom. The ring of wax is what your customer notices.
The cause tree for a tall flame over a pool that stops short of the glass. Work down the left: each branch to the right ends the search at no cost, from a short session, to a long or capped wick, to an off-centre wick, to an oil that caps or starves the wick. Only a candle that passes all four lands in the black box: the jar is too wide for that wick, and the answer is a different system. The dashed box is the tempting branch: a smaller wick shortens the flame and narrows the pool.
Straight answer
My candle has a very tall flame but the melt pool still does not reach the glass. Why might simply wicking down create another problem?
Because your two symptoms point in opposite directions, and wicking down only answers one of them. The tall flame says "too much"; the narrow pool says "not enough reach". A smaller wick makes less heat, so the flame drops and the pool gets narrower still. The ring of unmelted wax thickens, the candle tunnels deeper every burn, and a wick in a deep, narrow well can drown. If the flame was tall because of a carbon cap or a heavy oil clogging the wick, the smaller wick will often cap as well, and you will have both problems at a smaller size. The real causes are usually one of these: a burn too short to judge; a long or mushroomed wick; a wick off-centre or leaning; an oil that caps or starves the wick; or a jar too wide for a single wick of that construction. Check them in that order: the first four are free. If the candle passes all four, change the system rather than the size. Test a different construction (Cotton Braided) against two smaller wicks (a C1 pair), each in your oil and unscented, three candles a cell, to the end of the jar. A tall flame that smokes or leans towards the glass means stop the burn first and diagnose second.
One line: a tall flame over a narrow pool is heat in the wrong place. Rule out length, cap, centring and oil, then test a different system, not a smaller wick. Wicks for the 2×2 cost ₹238.00.
The 2×2, priced: Cotton Braided 10-pack (₹120.00) + Eco C1 20-pack (₹118.00) = ₹238.00 in wicks, with 4 and 8 spare. Both are in stock on 7 October 2026; the C1 10-pack is not. Two-slot holders for the pairs: Steel Wick Holder, ₹50.00 each.

Height and width: two different jobs

A tall flame is not a strong wick. It is a wick that is lifting fuel faster than it is spreading heat.

Your symptom, stated exactly: the flame is very tall (well above the 2.5–5 cm range many makers use as a practical rule of thumb), yet the melt pool still stops short of the glass, so there is a ring of solid wax around the edge after a burn. That pairing is the whole diagnosis, because the two things measure different jobs.

Flame height mostly reflects how much fuel the wick lifts and how much wick stands above the pool. A long wick, a carbon cap or a fast-drawing construction all make it taller. Pool width reflects how far heat travels sideways from the flame into the wax, over time. That depends on where the wick sits, how the heat is distributed, how wide the jar is, and how long you burn. A tall, narrow flame sends much of its heat upwards. A wick a centimetre off-centre leaves the far wall short. And a single wick has only so much reach: in a wide jar, turning it up raises the flame far more than it widens the pool. These are common observations about combustion, not CSI test data.

So "too big" and "too small" can both be true of one candle, about different things. That is why the question in your title is the right one. The obvious fix answers the height and makes the width worse. The closest published post in our wick series, tall flame, pool short of the edge: wrong wick type?, makes the same point from the purchase side. This post works through the causes, the four free checks and the 2×2 test. (If your pool does reach the glass and the flame grows as it deepens, you want the pool-depth post instead.)

Safety first, plainly: a very tall flame is a safety problem before it is a quality problem, whatever the pool is doing. Stop the burn if it smokes continuously, flickers hard, leans towards the glass or burns down a narrow tunnel close to the wall: extinguish it, let it set completely, trim and remove any cap before relighting. Never judge glass heat by touch; use your own non-contact thermometer at fixed marked points (CSI lists none). The "Safe for hot pour up to 85°C" wording on our 150 g jar pages is a pour limit, not a burn rating. No wick system makes a candle "safe" or "soot-free", and nobody should promise you one.

Five reasons for a tall flame over a short pool

One is how the candle was burned. Four are how it was built. Only one of the four is about wick size, and even that is about system, not step.

Ranked by likelihood for exactly this pattern and by cost to test (our judgement). Signs are common observations, not CSI burn data.

Cause ranking · very tall flame, pool short of the glass
Burning = how the candle is used · making = formulation and build · ₹ from CSI live pricing, 7 October 2026
Cause What you'd see Discriminating test Fix Cost
1. Burn too short, or burn one (burning) Ring after a 1–2 hour session; first burn of a new candle; pool still widening when you blew it out Burn a full session (roughly 1 h per 2.5 cm of width: about 3.3 h for 8.5 cm, 2.8 h for 7 cm) and judge burns 2–3 Longer first burns; a care line about the first burn Nothing
2. Long wick or carbon cap (burning: trim; making: oil, construction) Cap on the tip, tall sooty flame, flame shrinks after a trim; pool barely changes Cool, trim to 5–6 mm, remove the cap, relight in still air. Flame normal and pool still narrow: the wick is short of reach, not oversized Trim habit; if it caps every burn, see cause 4 Nothing, or a cutter from ₹177.00
3. Off-centre or leaning wick (making: placement) Pool touches one wall, not the opposite one; flame leans; soot on one side Measure wick-to-wall at four points with the candle set; watch the lean when lit, in still air Holder at pour; check the tab is flat and seated ₹23.60 a holder
4. Heavy oil capping or starving the wick (making: oil, load) Cap by hour two; tall, sometimes sooty or flickering flame; pool narrow in this oil, wider in a lighter one Same wick and jar unscented (and, if you like, in a lighter oil) Oil or load test within both ceilings; a per-fragrance system Nothing for unscented; a lighter oil from ₹70.80 of oil a candle
5. Jar too wide for one wick of that construction (making: wick system) Passes checks 1–4, still a ring every burn; flame tall whatever you do The 2×2 below: a different construction against a pair of smaller wicks Change system: Cotton Braided, or a C1 pair ₹238.00 in wicks

Cause 4 needs a word of care. When people say a heavy oil "starves" a wick, they usually mean that a viscous, resin- or vanilla-rich oil clogs the wick or builds carbon on it. The flame then burns tall and dirty from a capped tip while drawing fuel unevenly. That is a common observation, not a measured property of any CSI oil, and some heavy oils behave perfectly well. The unscented control settles it for your oil: if the same wick reaches the glass unscented, the oil is in the way, and the next step is the oil or load, not the wick (lavender fine, vanilla huge has the per-fragrance logic). Mushrooming as the main event belongs to the mushrooming hub; a wick that bends to one side is the leaning-wick post.

What a smaller wick would actually do

Wicking down treats the symptom you can see and feeds the one that costs you money.

Here is the honest prediction for each cause if you simply drop one CSI rung (Cotton Braided → C2, or C2 → C1), based on common observations rather than CSI test data.

If you wick down without diagnosing · what usually happens
Tendencies, not certainties · the reason the 2×2 changes system, not size
Real cause Flame after wicking down Pool after wicking down Net result
Burn too short Smaller Narrower still, same short sessions A good wick replaced by a weak one
Long wick or cap Smaller, but still capped Narrower The cap was the problem; it stays
Off-centre wick Smaller Far wall even shorter The placement fault is now worse
Heavy oil Smaller, often still capping Narrower; wick may drown in a tunnel Both problems, at a smaller size
Jar too wide Smaller Clearly tunnelling A thicker ring, wasted wax, a shorter usable life

Tunnelling is not cosmetic for a seller. The ring is wax the customer paid for and never burns, and it tends to deepen with every short burn as the pool "remembers" its narrow shape (a common observation). In a deep, narrow tunnel the flame can also struggle for air and drown in its own pool, or burn close to a high glass wall. If you have already wicked down once, got a tunnel, and wicked back up into a tall flame, you are in the loop that the wick-down-then-tunnel post breaks; don't start it.

Don't do this: don't wick down blindly into tunnelling. Diagnose first; the four checks are free. Don't hide the tall flame behind trimming instructions: if the candle only behaves when trimmed mid-burn, the system is wrong for the jar. Don't wick up blindly either. A bigger single wick in a jar that is too wide for it usually gets the edges eventually with a taller, hotter, sootier flame (the very-large-single-wick soot post). Don't buy 1,000 of anything until three candles of one system pass to the end of the jar.

Four free checks before any purchase

Each check either ends the search for free or sends you one step down the tree.
1
Session length and burn numberWas the burn long enough? A rough rule of thumb is one hour per 2.5 cm of jar width (3.3 h for an 8.5 cm jar). Judge burns 2 and 3, not burn 1. A first burn that catches up by burn 2–3 is commonly tolerated in testing; a ring that is still there at burn 3 is real. If your sessions were one or two hours, burn a full session before anything else.
2
Trim and capLet the candle set, trim to 5–6 mm, lift off any carbon cap, relight in still air (fans and AC off, away from vents). If the flame is now a normal height and the pool is still narrow, the tall flame was length or carbon all along, and the wick is short of reach, not oversized. Go straight to the 2×2.
3
Centring and leanWith the candle set, measure wick-to-wall at four points (12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock). Unequal distances, or a flame that leans once lit in still air, explain a pool short on one side. Re-pour with a holder, check the tab sits flat, and retest before changing anything else.
4
Unscented controlPour one candle with the same wick, jar and wax, without fragrance. If it reaches the glass with a normal flame, your oil or its load is capping or starving the wick: test the load or the oil, within both the wax and oil page maxima. If it still stops short, the wick system cannot reach this jar, scented or not.
5
Only then, change the systemPassed all four? Your jar is too wide for that wick of that construction. Move to the 2×2: a different construction against a pair of smaller wicks.

Write each result down before you move on. The sheet matters later: when the 2×2 picks a winner, you will want to know it was not an off-centre wick or a cap all along.

The 2×2 test: wick system × oil

Two systems that spread heat differently, each burned in your oil and without it. Four cells, three candles each.

The worked example is labelled: an 8.5 cm (inside) jar, currently on a single C2, with a 250 g fill at 8% = 20 g fragrance + 230 g wax (load as a percentage of total weight). Use your own jar and fill. The pool area is 56.75 cm²; a centred single wick sits 4.25 cm from the wall. A pair spaced 4.0 cm apart on the diameter (a starting point for testing, not a rule) sits 2.25 cm from the wall, each wick serving about 28.37 cm². That is geometry, not a burn prediction; one larger wick or two smaller is the full method for choosing between them, and this test is its short form for your symptom.

The 2×2 · 12 candles + 3 controls = 15
Rows: wick system · columns: oil · 3 candles a cell · controls on your current wick in your oil, from the same pour
Wick system Your oil, 8% Unscented What the row tells you
Cotton Braided, single, centred A1–A3 B1–B3 Whether a thicker braided construction reaches the glass from one point
C1 pair, 4.0 cm apart P1–P3 Q1–Q3 Whether two small flames cover the width with a calmer flame
Control: your current wick K1–K3 (your earlier unscented check) Today's baseline, so you can't mistake the day for the wick

How to read it: compare across a row to see the oil effect, and down a column to see the system effect. If both systems reach the glass unscented but not in your oil, the oil is the lever, and a wick change alone won't fix it. If only the pair reaches the glass, in both columns, the jar wants two wicks. If Cotton Braided reaches the glass with a flame inside your band, and the pair runs hot or deep, the single thick wick wins. If everything passes, prefer the system with the calmer flame and the pool that reaches the glass by about hour three to four from burn two. A pair that reaches the glass but runs two large flames and a hot jar is a different question: reduce both wicks before removing one.

Measurements · per candle, per 4-hour session
Limits are an in-house protocol you set before burn 1, not industry standards · flame band and depth are rules of thumb

Pool depth Skewer midway between wick and glass 4 h About 1–1.5 cm or less
Lean and soot Watch 30 s in still air; white card Each hour No lean, no visible smoke trail

The approval rule (ours, labelled)
A system is approved for this jar and oil when all three candles in its scented cell pass every limit you wrote down, in the top, middle and bottom thirds, at four-hour sessions in still air, burned to about 1 cm of wax left. One ring at burn 3, one smoking session or one glass reading over your limit in any candle fails the system. The unscented cell explains the result; it does not approve anything, because you sell the scented candle. This is an in-house protocol, not an industry standard.

Worked example for the calendar: at about 8 g an hour (your scale decides), a 250 g candle is about 31.2 hours, roughly 8 four-hour sessions, with all 15 candles burning side by side on separate heat-safe spots. Keep pair candles further apart from their neighbours, since two flames heat the air around them more.

CSI buy list, honest limits, and what to skip

We sell few wick systems. For this problem, that makes the honest answer short.

CSI's sized, tabbed wicks are three rungs: C1 → C2 → Cotton Braided, plus pairs of C1 or C2 and one wooden-wick listing with no width options. There is no sized, tabbed wick between C1 and C2 or between C2 and Cotton Braided. In CSI terms, "a different construction" means switching between Eco (C1/C2), Cotton Braided, a braided roll cut to length (the Braided Wick Roll with 100 wick tabs, ₹706.82, which you "cut … to the desired length"), the loose Eco wick, or the wooden wick. We do not sell other named wick series. If your jar needs something we don't stock, we would rather tell you than sell you the nearest pack: ask on WhatsApp.

7–8 cm Single C1 Checks 1–4; then C2 single as a different strength, or a braided roll cut to length C2 10, or ask us ₹94.40

Argued against our own interest: most candles with this symptom fail check 1, 2 or 3, and the fix costs nothing. Buy the 2×2 wicks only after all four checks pass. And don't choose between Cotton Braided and a C1 pair on price: a pair is ₹11.80 a candle against ₹12.00, a difference of ₹0.20, which the test result will outweigh many times over.

After approval, buy by the month. Worked example, labelled: 100 candles a month plus 2%. On C1 pairs that is 204 wicks, so 2 × 100 + 20 = 220 for ₹1,298.00. On Cotton Braided it is 102, so 100 + 10 = 110 for ₹1,320.00. Same per wick in every pack. The reorder logic is in the hub, and two-wick spacing in production is worth a holder per candle. A later change of wick lot or supplier is a formula change (what to revalidate after moving to two wicks).

Christmas is 25 December 2026, 79 days from 7 October 2026. Run the four checks this week and the 2×2 straight after: at roughly 8 sessions a candle plus a cure, you can know your system by mid-November and pour the festive batch with time to spare. Send us the wick and holder counts on WhatsApp to confirm stock and dispatch, with a GST invoice.

Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
The page says it is "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", describes a "thick, braided construction" and claims "optimal flame height, preventing tunneling" (its words; CSI publishes no burn data). For a jar above 8 cm where a single C2 throws a tall flame without reaching the glass, it is one of the two systems in the 2×2. It costs ₹12.00 a wick at every pack, so the 10-pack covers the grid. Limitation: in a jar of 8 cm or less, its own page positions it above your jar; there, read the construction question in the buy-list section before you try it.

The other system in the grid: two C1s spread the heat across the jar instead of piling it into one tall flame. A pair costs ₹11.80 a candle against ₹12.00 for one Cotton Braided, a difference of ₹0.20, so price will not decide this. Argued against our own interest: the 20-pack covers all six pair candles with 8 to spare, and every bigger pack costs the same per wick. The C1 10-pack is out of stock on 7 October 2026.

Steel Wick Holder (Set of 5)
The page describes a "3-hole layout fits single, double, or triple wick setups" and says it fits jars "up to 9 cm wide". In the text we captured it does not state the hole spacing. So measure the outer holes before you rely on them for a 4.0 cm pair, and measure your rim: an 8.5 cm-inside jar may be wider than 9 cm outside. ₹50.00 a holder in every pack size. Argued against our own interest: if the spacing does not suit your jar, a strip of stiff card with two holes punched at your spacing does the same job for nothing.

An off-centre wick fakes this exact symptom: a pool that reaches one wall and not the other reads as "doesn't reach the glass". These are wooden bars, "Length 4.4" (11,4 cm)", with one 4 mm hole ("Hole Dia 0,15" (4mm)"), for openings "less than 4"". One hole means one wick: they hold the Cotton Braided and control candles, not the pairs. ₹23.60 a holder. Limitation: a holder keeps a wick straight while the wax sets; it cannot correct a wick that leans once lit. That is a construction or tab question.

Dark Vanilla Oud
For the oil factor, if you don't already have a heavy oil in the problem candle. The page describes an oil "opening with vanilla and spicy cardamom, deepening into exotic oud and deep amber, and settling into warm musk and woody cedar", and states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles" (8% is inside it, and inside Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's "Up to 10%"). It does not state a vanillin content in the text we captured. Rich, resinous blends like this commonly build more carbon on a wick than light ones; that is a tendency, not CSI data. Honest notes: your own problem oil is the right one to test, so buy this only to learn how a heavy oil behaves in your jar. The 1 kg costs ₹1.00 more than two 500 g packs. For a lighter comparison oil, Eucalyptus Spearmint (page: "No vanillin - zero risk of discoloration", "up to 10% for soy wax") is ₹70.80 of oil per 250 g candle at the 100 g price.
Size Price Per gram 250 g candles at 8% (20 g) Oil per candle
15 g ₹105.02 ₹7.00 none (a sniff sample) ₹140.03
50 g ₹320.00 ₹6.40 2 ₹128.00
100 g ₹590.00 ₹5.90 5 ₹118.00
500 g ₹2,845.00 ₹5.69 25 ₹113.80
1 kg ₹5,691.00 ₹5.69 50 ₹113.82
For the 2×2: 2 × 100 g = ₹1,180.00 (20 g spare). Buy 100 g — ₹590.00

Skip for now: a smaller single wick (the whole point of this page); any 100-plus pack before approval; a new oil while the wick question is open (unless check 4 points at the oil); and Cotton Braided in a jar of 8 cm or less unless the checks and a C1 pair have already failed.

The CSI principle
When the flame says "too much" and the pool says "not enough", change the system, not the size.
Rule out the short burn, the cap, the centring and the oil for free. Then test Cotton Braided against a C1 pair, in your oil and unscented, three candles a cell, to the end of the jar. Wicks: ₹238.00.
"A tall flame tells you where the heat is going. The ring of wax tells you where it isn't."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the wicks, holders, wax and oils named here, not finished candles. This page still tells you that most candles with this symptom need no new wick, that a strip of card can replace our steel holder, that our bigger wick packs cost no less per wick, and that we stock only a few wick systems.

Every CSI price was checked on the live store on 7 October 2026, with stock checked per pack: the Eco C1 10-pack is out of stock and is not used; every other item priced here is in stock on that date. Page wording is quoted and attributed, including the Cotton Braided page's "exceeding 8 cm" and "preventing tunneling", the Eco wick page's "minimal soot or smoke", and the Steel Wick Holder's "up to 9 cm wide" (no hole spacing stated).

The flame band (2.5–5 cm), depth (about 1–1.5 cm), one hour per 2.5 cm of width and the 1 cm wax floor are common rules of thumb. The 8.5 cm jar, 250 g fill, 4.0 cm spacing, 8 g/h and 100 candles a month are labelled worked examples; the approval limits are an in-house protocol. Oil effects on wicks are tendencies, not CSI test data. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my candle flame tall but not melting to the edge?
The flame is putting heat upwards instead of outwards. Common reasons are a short burn, a long or capped wick, an off-centre wick, a heavy oil clogging the wick, or a jar too wide for one wick. Check them in that order before changing the wick.
Should I use a smaller wick if my flame is too big?
Not if the pool already stops short of the glass: a smaller wick makes less heat and the candle tunnels. Trim and remove the cap, check centring, and try an unscented control first; if it still won't reach the glass, test a different system rather than a smaller size.
When should I use two wicks instead of one?
When a single wick of a sensible size can't reach the glass, even unscented, centred and trimmed, in a jar that wide. Test a pair of smaller wicks beside the best single wick, three candles each, to the end of the jar, and choose on full-life results.
Can fragrance oil stop my wick from melting the whole surface?
It can: heavy, viscous or vanilla- and resin-rich oils commonly cap or clog wicks. Pour the same wick unscented. If that candle reaches the glass, test the oil or its load within both the wax and oil page maxima.
How do I know if my wick is off-centre?
With the candle set, measure wick-to-wall at four points around the jar. Unequal distances, or a flame that leans in still air, explain a pool that reaches one side but not the other. Use a holder at pour and retest.
Does CSI sell a wick between C2 and Cotton Braided?
No. CSI's sized, tabbed wicks are C1, C2 and Cotton Braided, with nothing tabbed in between. Pairs of C1 or C2, or a braided roll cut to length, are the other options. Ask on WhatsApp if you need something we don't stock.
Tall flame, pool short of the glass
Run the four free checks, then test a different system, not a smaller wick, to the end of the jar.
Wicks for the 2×2 cost ₹238.00: a Cotton Braided 10-pack and an Eco C1 20-pack. If your jar needs something we don't stock, tell us on WhatsApp, and we will say so plainly.

Editorial standards & sources
About this guide: part of CSI's cluster "Flame Is Too Large" (6901–6920) in the series on large flames, soot, smoke, mushrooming and wick purchase. It explains why a very tall flame over a pool that stops short of the glass is a system problem, why wicking down backfires, a cause-ranking table, four free checks, a 2×2 test of wick system × oil with an in-house approval rule, and a CSI wick buy list.

Non-price figures: "very tall flame" and "does not reach the glass" are the reader's description (title). The 8.5 cm inside jar, 250 g fill at 8% (20 g oil + 230 g wax, load as a percentage of total weight), 4.0 cm pair spacing, pool area 56.75 cm² (π r² on the inside diameter) and wick-to-wall 2.25 cm are labelled worked examples and geometry, not burn predictions. Wax ceiling as the page states (Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10%), a formulation limit, not a regulatory one; Dark Vanilla Oud's page states 6–10% for candles and Eucalyptus Spearmint's up to 10% for soy. Flame band 2.5–5 cm, depth 1–1.5 cm, one hour per 2.5 cm of width (3.3 h at 8.5 cm, 2.8 h at 7 cm) and the 1 cm wax floor are common rules of thumb. 8 g/h and 100 candles a month are worked examples. Costs are materials only and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Christmas 25 December 2026 is a calendar fact.
