When a 1 kg pack makes sense for a Chennai maker

A 1 kg pack is the right buy when three things are true: the oil has passed a test burn in your wax and jar, you expect to sell that scent steadily, and you have a cool, dark shelf to keep it on. If any of those is missing, 100 g or 500 g is the better buy.

A worked example

Example: a T. Nagar gift store adding a jasmine-and-sandal line, 400 × 150 g glass jar. At 8%, each candle takes 12.0 g of oil, so the order needs 4.80 kg. What Chennai changes about buying a kilogram

Chennai is hot and humid all year, with May–June highs near 40°C; unlike most of India, its main rains come with the north-east monsoon from October to December. Chennai's rainy season lands on top of Deepavali shipping. Order festive oil and packaging earlier than a Delhi or Mumbai maker would, and wrap every outer carton for the rains.
