Fragrance Oils for Corporate Gift Candles
Share
What documents do corporate buyers ask for? Typically a GST invoice and safety documentation. CSI provides a GST invoice and, on request, the MSDS and IFRA documentation for the oils you buy. The finished candle's label and paperwork are yours. Details in the document section.
How much does a corporate gift candle cost to make? In a 200 ml Salsa jar at an illustrative 160 g fill, ₹187.01 to ₹227.29 in materials with these four oils; in a 200 g White Matte jar, ₹266.21 to ₹316.56. Labour, packaging, freight and GST are extra.
One scent or two for a corporate order? For 200 identical boxes, one scent is simplest and cheapest: ₹40,947.00 for the whole order below, against ₹41,243.00 split across two. Larger orders are worked through in the 1,000-piece corporate guide.
Neutral profiles for a mixed office
A corporate order is the extreme case of the gift problem: hundreds of recipients, none of whom chose the scent, in shared spaces where one person's favourite is another's headache. The safest scents are the ones that read as "clean" or "calm" to most people. That is reasoning about offices and gifting, not measured data, and it leads to four families that tend to work and four that tend to cause trouble.
| Family | Why it suits an office | Risk | In-stock example (₹/g) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clean fresh, aquatic | Reads as clean air; few people actively dislike it | Can seem generic in a premium box | Blue Ocean ₹4.96 |
| Soft amber with citrus | Warm but not sweet; suits both men and women | Amber-heavy blends can read rich; test at 6% too | Bergamot Amber ₹5.44 |
| Dry herbal wood | Understated, 'desk-friendly', unisex | Some find sage medicinal; test cold | Sage and Cedarwood ₹5.17 (500 g) |
| Light oud | Signals premium without heavy smoke | Dearer; can polarise if too dark | White Royal Oud ₹8.10 |
| Very sweet gourmand | Popular in personal gifts | Cloying in shared spaces | Avoid for mixed offices |
| Heavy smoke, incense | Festive at home | Strong opinions either way | Keep for Diwali home boxes (2382) |
| Strong white florals | Traditional, celebratory | Divides office opinion | Keep for weddings (2383) |
| Sharp mint, medicinal | Fresh | Reads as balm or cleaner | Test carefully before choosing |
The four in-stock examples span the price range. Blue Ocean is the value option at ₹4.96 a gram at 1 kg and priced flat from 50 g upward, so the 100 g is a sensible test-to-production step. Bergamot Amber is ₹5.60 at 100 g and ₹5.44 at 1 kg. Sage and Cedarwood is an oddity worth knowing: its 500 g costs ₹5.17 a gram, while its 1 kg costs ₹6.87, so two 500 g bottles are ₹1,699.20 cheaper than one kilo. White Royal Oud is the premium option at ₹8.10 a gram, flat from 100 g.
If the client insists on "something for everyone", offer two neutral scents from different families — a fresh and a wood, say — rather than four. Every scent you add multiplies testers, labels and leftovers, and makes the box assembly error-prone. The 1,000-piece corporate guide works through one, two and three scents at scale, and the 500-candle corporate question asks the same question from the buyer's side.
The documents corporate buyers ask for
Companies buying gifts at volume usually run the purchase through a procurement or accounts team, and those teams ask for documents that a personal gift buyer never would. What they ask for varies from company to company, so treat the table below as a checklist to confirm with your client, not a legal requirement. It separates what CSI provides for the raw materials from what you, as the candle maker, prepare for the finished product.
| Document | What it is | From CSI? | Your part |
|---|---|---|---|
| GST invoice | Tax invoice for the raw materials | Yes, with the order | Issue your own GST invoice to the client for the finished candles |
| MSDS (material safety data sheet) | Hazard and handling data for each fragrance oil | On request — ask on WhatsApp when you order | Keep on file; use as an input to your own safety information |
| IFRA documentation | Fragrance industry compliance document for the oil | On request | Check the oil is used within the limits the document gives for candles |
| Oil's IFRA % and flash point | Specific figures for one oil | Not published on this page — ask for the certificate | Do not quote a figure you have not seen on the document |
| Batch or pour log | Which oil lot went into which candles | — | Record oil, load, date and batch for every pour |
| Candle label | Scent, net weight, burn and safety instructions | — | Yours to design and print |
| Vendor registration | Client's supplier onboarding | — | Your business details, GST number, bank details |
Two points matter most. First, ask for the MSDS and IFRA documents at the time you order the oil, not when the client's procurement team emails you with a deadline. Message CSI on WhatsApp with the exact oils and sizes on your order. Second, never write a figure into your paperwork that you have not seen on the document. This page does not state any individual oil's IFRA percentage or flash point because those figures are not in our published data; they are on the certificate and the oil's product page.
Load is part of the paperwork conversation too. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13% fragrance and CSI 464 up to 10%; those are the wax makers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits. The IFRA document sets its own limits for each oil in candles. Your working load should sit inside both. This page costs everything at 8%, which is comfortably inside the wax ceilings; check it against each oil's IFRA document before you finalise.
Formats that suit a corporate box
Corporate candles travel — by courier to remote staff, in boxes stacked in a stockroom, on a desk for weeks. A lid helps. The 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar comes with a golden lug cap and costs ₹29.50 each in packs of 50 or 100 (₹200.60 for 5). Its fill weight is not published, so this page uses an illustrative 160 g fill; weigh one of your own. The White Matte Glass Jar (200 g working fill, ₹70.80) suits a premium client box, and the 85 g Golden Aluminium Tin (₹30.00) suits a desk gift or an add-on.
| Oil (₹/g as bought) | 85 g tin | Salsa 160 g | 200 g White Matte jar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue Ocean (₹4.96 at 1 kg) | ₹116.44 | ₹187.01 | ₹266.21 |
| Bergamot Amber (₹5.44 at 1 kg) | ₹119.71 | ₹193.17 | ₹273.91 |
| Sage and Cedarwood (₹5.17 at 500 g) | ₹117.89 | ₹189.73 | ₹269.61 |
| White Royal Oud (₹8.10 at 1 kg) | ₹137.84 | ₹227.29 | ₹316.56 |
The Salsa jar is the value corporate format: at an illustrative 160 g it costs ₹123.57 before oil against ₹186.92 for the 200 g White Matte jar, mostly because the jar itself is ₹29.50 against ₹70.80. The White Matte jar earns its price in a premium box where the jar is part of the gift. Across the four oils, the spread per Salsa jar is ₹40.28 from Blue Ocean to White Royal Oud; across 200 boxes, ₹8,056.32. That is the price of choosing the premium neutral, and it is worth stating to the client as an option.
A priced 200-box order
Here is a complete order for 200 corporate boxes, each with one 200 ml Salsa jar candle at an illustrative 160 g fill and 8% load. Each jar holds 12.8 g of oil and 147.2 g of wax. The run needs 2,560 g of oil and 29,440 g of wax; with a 5% allowance for pour loss and test burns (a working assumption), 2,688 g and 30,912 g. Pack mixes below are practical in-stock combinations covering those figures.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Bergamot Amber — 2 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g + 2 × 100 g (2,700 g) | ₹14,712.00 |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — 3 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg (31,000 g) | ₹18,596.00 |
| 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar with golden lug cap, 2 × 100 | ₹5,900.00 |
| Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1, 2 × 100 + 10 (210) | ₹1,239.00 |
| Wick stickers, 5 × 40 (200) | ₹500.00 |
| Total, before GST, freight and packaging | ₹40,947.00 |
That is ₹204.74 per box in candle materials before labour, the gift box, freight and GST, with a few spare wicks and some oil and wax left for tests. If the client wants two scents, 100 boxes each of Bergamot Amber and Sage and Cedarwood, the oil changes to 1 × 1 kg + 3 × 100 g + 1 × 50 g of Bergamot Amber (₹7,397.00) and 2 × 500 g + 3 × 100 g + 1 × 50 g of Sage and Cedarwood (₹7,611.00), and the order total becomes ₹41,243.00, a difference of ₹296.00. Sage and Cedarwood is bought as 500 g bottles because they are cheaper per gram than its kilo.

Quoting the client without surprises
Corporate orders go wrong in the gap between the quote and the delivery. The sequence below closes it.
For the grams a corporate run needs in each format, the bulk quantity guide has the tables, and the Diwali buying guide shows how to separate committed from speculative stock; for choosing scents by recipient beyond the office, see the gifting hub. For the scent-count decision at larger volumes, go to which fragrances for a 1,000-piece corporate order or a 500-piece gift order. For the wholesale route and quotes beyond the listed packs, wholesale fragrance oils for bulk gifting orders. For a corporate Diwali delivery date, the back-schedule in Diwali gift candle production applies, and the bulk supplier checklist covers what to confirm with any supplier before a large order.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a corporate page it would be convenient to sell kilos and promise paperwork we do not publish. Instead this page shows where our kilo is no cheaper — or dearer, as with Sage and Cedarwood — and states plainly which documents we provide (GST invoice; MSDS and IFRA on request) and which figures we do not publish (an individual oil's IFRA percentage or flash point).
Oil and wax prices are CSI live pricing, pulled on 24 September 2026. Salsa jars, tins, wicks and wick stickers are from the 24–25 September 2026 catalogue pull; the White Matte Glass Jar is the figure verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026. Per-piece and order totals are plain arithmetic to two decimals.
The neutral-profile scorecard is editorial reasoning, not sales or survey data; the document checklist is a general guide, not legal advice — confirm your client's exact requirements. The 160 g Salsa fill, 8% load and 5% wastage allowance are working assumptions. We have not published throw measurements.
