"For candle making and new beginner this is very helpful, i came to know about them from Sosa candle, Sonal guide us in youtube about product materials and everything she suggested this, I trusted her and gave a try, and it is authentic product and other materials too. Sometimes it happens that all materials didnt reach me, they take the responsibility and send me. The team is co-operative in nature and friendly too. If i ordered liquid colors or fragrance that too packed so well that there is no leakage also my packaged item where misplaced by delivery boy i guess (i didn't remember properly) they sent it again they took all that responsibility that gains the trust. Only i felt little costly during checkout when its kg amount calculated (ho sakhe todha kam kar do,haha). Overall had great experience with them. Thankyou so much 👍😊"

Every jar you add multiplies lids, fill weights and wick tests. Twelve oils in three jars is 36 wick questions; in one 8 cm jar it is 12. Fix the container first, measure every lot, then bracket the wicks.
36 → 12
wick cells for twelve fragrances, three jars versus one · worked example, CSI live pricing September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How much complexity does one 8 cm jar remove? In our worked example of 12 fragrances previously sold in three CSI jars: jar and lid SKUs 3 → 1, fill weights 3 → 1, jar × oil wick cells 36 → 12, bracket candles 168 → 72 (57% fewer), approved builds 36 → 12, wrong jar-lid pairings 6 → none.

Should I fix the container before optimising wicks? Yes. A wick is chosen for an inside diameter, wall, base and height. Change the jar later and every bracket you ran is void. Fix the jar (and measure its lot), then the fill weight, wax and load, then bracket the wicks, then audit wick SKUs.

Does CSI sell an 8 cm jar? No. CSI lists no jar at 8 cm by any stated figure. The nearest listings are the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) at 7 cm outside and the Apothecary Dome Lid jar at about 10 cm. Neither is your jar, and wick results will not transfer.

What does the smaller test plan save? In our worked example the 8 cm bracket uses 68% less oil and ₹27,543.12 less in oil, wax and wicks than bracketing three jars, before counting the ₹22,089.60 of CSI jars the old plan needed.
The short answer
The arithmetic: complexity multiplies. Jars × oils sets the wick cells; each cell needs its own arms and candles. One jar turns 36 cells into 12 and 168 bracket candles into 72.
The sequence: container → fill weight → wax and load → wick bracket per oil → full life → only then wick-SKU consolidation. Never the reverse.
The catch: one jar is one dependency. Measure every incoming lot, hold a buffer, and know your second source before you need it.
The honest limit: CSI lists no 8 cm jar (nearest: 7 cm and 10 cm), and its wick range is short: C1, C2, Cotton Braided, braided rolls, one wooden wick.
Three jars × twelve oils, or one jar × twelve oils Top views to scale (1.6 px per mm), listing figures read as outside diameters. Each square is one oil in one jar; its ticks are the bracket arms, two candles each. The same twelve fragrances in three CSI jars (left) or one 8 cm jar (right). Jars are top views at true relative scale; each square is one oil in one jar and its ticks are the wick arms it needs, two candles each. Arm choices are starting points to test, not answers; the twelve-oil collection is a worked example.
Straight answer
I use the same 8 cm jar across my collection. How much inventory complexity can I eliminate by standardising the container before optimising wicks?
More than many makers expect, because container choices multiply. Every jar you add multiplies lids, fill weights, labels and boxes, and it multiplies the wick work: each jar × fragrance pair is its own wick question. In our worked example, twelve fragrances sold in three jars meant 36 wick cells, 168 bracket candles and 36 approved builds; the same twelve in one 8 cm jar need 12 cells, 72 candles and 12 builds, with one lid, one fill weight and no wrong lid on the bench. The order matters as much as the count: fix the container first, measure its inside diameter at two or three heights on samples from each lot, fix the fill weight, wax and load, and only then bracket wicks. If you optimise wicks first and change the jar later, the brackets are void. Two honest caveats: one jar makes your whole range depend on one item, so measure every lot and know your second source; and CSI does not list an 8 cm jar, so your jar is your own supplier's.
One line: one jar turns 36 wick questions into 12; fix it first, measure every lot, then bracket.
For the 8 cm bracket in our worked example: Eco C2 (24 wicks: a 20-pack and a 10-pack, or the 50), Cotton Braided (24: the 50-pack, ₹600.00) and Eco C1 for the two-wick arm (48: the 50-pack, ₹295.00). The jar is yours; CSI does not list an 8 cm jar.
Cotton Braided 50 — ₹600.00

Why container choices multiply everything downstream

Add a jar and you have not added one item. You have added a column to every table you keep.

A candle build is a chain: jar → lid → fill weight → wax and load → oil → wick. Everything after the jar depends on it. The fill weight is set by the jar's volume to your fill line; the wick is set by the jar's inside diameter, wall and base; the label and the box by its outside. So the number of things you track is closer to a product than a sum. Twelve oils in one jar is twelve builds. Twelve oils in three jars is thirty-six, and each of those thirty-six needs its own wick evidence.

That is why wick testing balloons when a range grows by sizes. A wick result for an oil does not travel between jars of different diameter: pool area is π r² on the inside radius, and on a 0.35 cm wall (our labelled assumption) CSI's 6, 7 and 10 cm listings give 22.06, 31.17 and 67.93 cm² of pool; an 8 cm outside jar gives 41.85 cm², about 34% more than the 7 cm. Each step changes how much wax the flame must melt, so each jar is its own bracket.

"8 cm" — inside or outside?
The pool only reaches the glass it can see. If your 8 cm is the outside, a 0.35 cm wall leaves 7.3 cm inside and 41.85 cm² of pool; if it is the inside, the pool is 50.27 cm², 20% more. Measure the inside at the rim, the middle and 1 cm above the base before you build anything on it. The full argument is the external-versus-internal post.

The complexity count, before and after

Count it once, on paper. The number is the argument.

Our worked example: a small brand selling twelve fragrances in three CSI jars, the Black Shiny Glass Jar with Golden Lid (page: "Capacity: 120 gm", "6 cm diameter"), the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) (7 cm outside) and the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid 500 gm (about 10 cm), moves the whole range into one 8 cm jar from its own supplier. Fills are worked examples: 100 g, 150 g and 450 g before; 200 g after; all at 8% of total weight in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464.

Complexity count · 12 fragrances · worked example
Before: three CSI jars · after: one 8 cm jar · counts, not estimates
What you track Three jars One jar Why it matters
Jar SKUs to buy, store and reorder 3 1 one supplier, one lot to measure
Lid SKUs 3 (golden lid, golden lid, dome glass) 1 no wrong lid on the bench
Fill weights to weigh to 3 (92 g+8 g, 138 g+12 g, 414 g+36 g) 1 (184 g + 16 g) one number on the scale card
Wrong jar-lid pairings possible 6 0 n jars × (n − 1) wrong lids
Jar × oil cells to bracket 36 12 each cell is a separate wick question
Bracket candles (2 per arm) 168 72 57% fewer
Approved builds on the spec sheet 36 12 each build: jar, fill, wax, oil, load, wick
Finished-goods SKUs 36 12 fewer labels, boxes and shelf lines
Distinct wick builds likely in use up to 5 (C1, C2, Cotton Braided, 2 × C1, 2 × C2) up to 3 before any SKU audit

The bracket arms are where our judgement enters, and they are starting points to test, not answers. In the 6 cm and 7 cm jars CSI's honest bracket is C1 against C2 (Cotton Braided's page describes it for candles "exceeding 8 cm"). In the 10 cm jar the arms are two C2, one Cotton Braided and two C1. In the 8 cm jar we use C2, Cotton Braided and two C1. With two candles per arm that gives 48 + 48 + 72 = 168 bracket candles before, and 72 after.

Some of the gain is not in the table. One fill weight means one number on the scale card for every helper. One lid means a pour bench with nothing to mismatch. One box size means one carton to buy. And one jar means one set of glass to learn: how its inside tapers, where its final third gets hot, how it looks at 1 cm left.

Mistake: standardising the jar but keeping three fill weights "for price points". What happens: a 150 g and a 250 g candle in the same 8 cm jar have the same pool area but different depths, sessions and final-third heat; each fill is its own wick question, and most of the saving disappears. Fix: one fill weight per jar, or treat each fill as a separate jar in the count.

What the smaller test plan costs

Fewer cells means fewer candles, and fewer candles means real grams and rupees.

To price both plans we use one stand-in oil price for all twelve fragrances: Lavender Fragrance Oil at its 500 g price, ₹5.24 a gram (labelled; your oils will differ). Wax is CSI 464 at the 10 kg price, ₹0.51 a gram. Wicks are flat per wick in every CSI pack: C1 ₹5.90, C2 ₹9.44, Cotton Braided ₹12.00.

Jars 48 Black Shiny (₹47.20 each in 5s) + 48 Clear 150 g (₹94.40) + 72 Apothecary 500 gm (₹212.40) = ₹22,089.60 72 of your own 8 cm jars (not a CSI listing; price yours)

On oil, wax and wicks alone the single-jar bracket saves ₹27,543.12 and 68% of the oil. The old plan also needed ₹22,089.60 of CSI jars; set that against 72 of yours. One 8 cm bracket candle is ₹177.20 of oil and wax (16 g + 184 g) before the jar and wick. All of this is materials only; the larger saving is time: 72 candles burned to about 1 cm left instead of 168.

Argued against our own interest: the cheapest plan of all may be to bracket fewer arms. If your 8 cm brackets for the first few oils keep landing on the same build, the remaining oils may need only a screen on that build plus full life, not three arms each. That costs us wick sales; it saves you weeks. How to group oils for initial testing is the grouping post.

Container first, wicks second: the order of work

Every step fixes something the next step depends on. Run them out of order and you test twice.
1
Fix the jar and measure the lotInside diameter at the rim, the middle and about 1 cm above the base, wall at the lip, base thickness and height, on several jars from the lot you will produce in. Write the numbers on the build sheet. A jar that tapers (CSI's 150 g jar is 7 cm outside at the rim and about 6.5 cm at the base) is judged at the heights the pool will live at, not only at the rim.
2
Fix the fill weight and headspaceWeigh water to your fill line on a tared scale; candle-maker rules of thumb put wax at roughly 0.86–0.9 times the water weight; confirm with a weighed test pour. Headspace of about 1–1.5 cm is a common rule of thumb. Our worked example uses 200 g.
3
Fix the wax and the loadOne wax and one house load, inside both ceilings (CSI 464's page: "Fragrance Load Up to 10%"; the oil page's own maximum where it states one). In our example, 8% of total weight: 16 g oil + 184 g wax.
4
Bracket wicks per oil, or per groupOnly now does the wick question become small enough to answer: twelve cells, not thirty-six. Separating jar effects from fragrance effects matters when you run several jars (the anchor-design post); with one jar, every difference you see is the oil or the wick.
5
Full life on the winnersBurn approved builds to about 1 cm left, glass watched, never touched. A bracket that stops at burn 3 has tested the easy half of the jar.
6
Then, and only then, consolidate wick SKUsWith one jar the audit is short; the method is the SKU-consolidation audit.

Why this order? Because each step's result is only valid while the steps before it hold. A wick approved in one jar is not approved in another, which is why changing to a jar 5 mm wider triggers a retest decision (the 7.5 to 8 cm retest post) and why a supplier quietly thickening the wall makes a "same" jar a new candle system (the incoming-lot post). Choosing jars with similar diameters so that one wick can serve several is a different strategy, the similar-diameters post; this page takes it one step further, to a single jar.

The price of one jar: a single point of failure

One jar simplifies everything until the day it isn't in stock.

Standardising concentrates risk. If your one jar goes out of stock, changes shape or arrives in a new lot with a thicker wall, the whole collection is affected at once. It happens in ordinary catalogues: in CSI's own 150 g jar family, the amber version is out of stock on 29 September 2026 while the clear, black, red, orange and pink are in. Three habits keep a single-jar range safe.

Measure every incoming lot against the lot your wicks were approved in, at the same heights, on several jars. Hold a buffer sized to your reorder time, which you should confirm with your supplier, not assume. Know your second source, and when you qualify it, treat it as a new candle system until its inside diameters, wall and base match; the measurements are the supplier-switch post, and a changed glass lot at the same listed capacity is the changed-glass diagnostic.

Argued against our own interest: if your 8 cm jar is reliable, in stock and measured, do not switch to a CSI jar just to buy from one supplier. A collection that already has one well-measured jar has done the hardest part; moving to our 7 cm or 10 cm listing would restart every bracket.

If you haven't chosen yet: CSI's nearest jars, honestly

We do not list an 8 cm jar. Here is what we do list on either side, and what each would mean.
CSI listings nearest to 8 cm · verified 29 September 2026
Figures as the pages state them · pool area on a 0.35 cm wall (our assumption) · not 8 cm jars

Glass Jar With Bamboo Lid; Amber Glass Jar with Bamboo Lid "width" 7.5 cm, 200 g not computable from a width none stated out of stock on 29 September 2026

With CSI 464, whose page states "Pour Temperature 80°C – 90°C", either 85°C-rated jar means pouring at 80–85°C, the lower limit governing; the 85°C figure is a pour limit, not a burn rating. If one of these suits your range, standardise on it and bracket in it. If your heart is set on 8 cm, keep your jar and use CSI for wax, oils and wicks. Either way, the jar you standardise on is the one you measure and bracket in.

Buying for a one-jar collection

Five items, chosen on page wording, price and stock on 29 September 2026: the two CSI jars nearest your 8 cm (as honest alternatives, not matches), the two wicks that make the 8 cm bracket's border and two-wick arms, and the scale that holds one fill weight. CSI publishes no wick-performance data, so nothing is ranked on burn results.

jar · CSI's nearest listing below 8 cm
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram)
If you have not yet committed to an 8 cm jar, this is the CSI listing to compare it with, honestly labelled: the page states "150g fill capacity", "outer diameter 7cm", base about 6.5 cm and "Safe for hot pour up to 85°C". On a 0.35 cm wall (our assumption) that is 31.17 cm² of pool at the rim, about 34% less than an 8 cm outside jar, and 15% less again at the base, so it tapers. It is not an 8 cm jar and its wick results will not transfer to yours. In stock on 29 September 2026; flat per jar. Limitation: colour versions of this jar family exist, and the amber one is out of stock on 29 September 2026: a reminder that one jar means one dependency.

Read as outside, 10 cm gives 67.93 cm² of pool, 62% more than an 8 cm outside jar: a different wick question, often a multi-wick one. The listing gives one set of dimensions for both sizes; measure before you plan a fill.

Candle Making Weighing Scale
One jar means one fill weight, and the saving only holds if every candle hits it. The CSI principle
Fix the jar, then the fill, then the wick.
Every wick result belongs to one jar. Standardise the container first and the wick question shrinks from jars × oils to oils alone; measure every lot so the standard stays standard.

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the jars, wicks, wax and oil named here and does not sell finished candles. We do not list an 8 cm jar, we say so, and we advise keeping a reliable 8 cm jar from your own supplier rather than restarting your brackets in one of ours.

Every price was verified on CSI's live store on 29 September 2026, with stock checked per size: the Eco C1 10-pack, the amber 150 g jar and the 7.5 cm-width bamboo-lid jars are out of stock on that date and flagged where they appear. Jar dimensions, capacities and heat wording are quoted from the pages, which give no internal diameters.

The twelve-oil collection, the fills, the bracket arms, the 0.35 cm wall and the stand-in oil price are worked examples or judgement; CSI publishes no wick-performance data. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Should a small candle business use one jar size for all scents?
It removes a lot of work: in our worked example 36 wick cells become 12 and 168 bracket candles become 72. The trade-off is fewer size options for customers and a single-jar dependency, so measure every lot and know a second source.
Should I choose the jar or the wick first?
The jar. A wick is chosen for a jar's inside diameter, wall, base and height, so fix the jar, fill weight, wax and load first, then bracket wicks. Changing the jar later voids the wick tests.
Does CSI sell an 8 cm candle jar?
No listing states 8 cm. The nearest are the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram), 7 cm outside, and the Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid, about 10 cm. Neither will share a wick result with an 8 cm jar.
Can I use the same wick in one jar for every fragrance?
Sometimes, often not: light florals and heavy vanilla, coffee or oud oils commonly want different wicks in the same jar. One jar makes the question twelve-cell small, but each oil still needs its own evidence through full life.
If I sell two fill weights in the same jar, do I need separate wick tests?
Usually yes. The pool area is the same, but depth, session count and final-third heat differ, so each fill is its own wick question. One fill weight per jar keeps the saving.
What wicks should I test in an 8 cm jar?
No single wick fits every 8 cm candle. With CSI wicks, a sensible bracket is Eco C2, Cotton Braided (its page describes it for candles exceeding 8 cm, so 8 cm is the border) and two Eco C1, two candles each, then full life on the winner.
Before you optimise a single wick

About this guide: part of CSI's commercial wick-matrix cluster (4281–4300): the complexity arithmetic of standardising one container (jars, lids, fill weights, wick cells, bracket candles, builds and finished SKUs before and after), the order of work (container, fill, wax and load, wick bracket, full life, SKU audit), the single-jar dependency, and CSI's nearest jars to 8 cm, honestly labelled.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on the product pages named on each card — Black Glass Jar with Black Lid (150 gram) (Deliveries Starting 5th Dec), Black Matte Glass Jar, Ceramic Jar for Candle Making, Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram), Eco Candle Wicks, White Matte Glass Jar. They are general product reviews, not assessments of the wick advice on this page. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me and wording is unedited. "Verified buyer" appears only on reviews Judge.me recorded as verified — Soumili Gope, Biny Abraham, Tina Lynette Lazaro Moganti, Monika Deep. The reviews from Ashwini, Jinal are published but not recorded as verified, and carry no badge. Reviews below five stars are included as published, not filtered out.
