₹124.50
scented wax in a 150 g candle on your figures · ₹0.77 a gram of scented wax · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does the scented wax in my 150 g candle cost? ₹124.50 on the figures in your question, reading 150 g as the wax: ₹82.50 of wax (150 g at your ₹550.00/kg) and ₹42.00 of fragrance (12 g at your ₹3,500.00/kg), for 162 g of scented wax. No vessel, no wick, no label — this figure is what goes inside the candle and nothing else.

What if 150 g is the finished scented wax, not the wax alone? Then it is ₹115.28: 138.89 g of wax at ₹76.39 and 11.11 g of oil at ₹38.89, which still sits at a true 8% of wax weight. The difference between the two readings is ₹9.22, and the cost per gram is identical either way.

What is the reusable number? ₹0.77 a gram of scented wax at 8% on your rates. It comes from one line — (wax ₹/g + load × oil ₹/g) ÷ 1.08 — and it is the same under both readings, because a mixture has one rate no matter how many grams of it you pour. Multiply it by whatever your jar actually holds.

What would the same scented wax cost from CSI? ₹130.15 at September 2026 pricing using Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹450.00/kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.22/g — ₹5.65 more than your own figures. The wax is ₹100.00 a kilogram cheaper than yours and the lavender is ₹1,721.00 a kilogram dearer, and on a 150 g candle the fragrance side wins.
The short answer
₹124.50 of scented wax: ₹82.50 of wax plus ₹42.00 of fragrance, on the reading where 150 g is the wax and 162 g of scented wax comes out of the jug. This page states that reading at every step and shows the other one beside it.
₹0.77 a gram is the number to keep: Identical under both readings, because the recipe is the same 8% mixture either way. Multiply it by your measured fill: ₹99.60 at 120 g of wax, ₹207.50 at 250 g.
On CSI materials, ₹130.15: Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹450.00/kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.22/g, September 2026 — ₹5.65 above your own figures, and the page says why rather than pretending otherwise.
A waterfall from the scented wax cost on the reader rates to the same scented wax on live CSI materials, showing the cheaper wax and the dearer oil Cheaper wax, dearer oil, dearer candle162 g of scented wax: 150 g of wax and 12 g of oil at 8%.Your figures₹124.50wax ₹82.50 at your ₹550.00/kg · oil ₹42.00 at your ₹3,500.00/kgWax line, on CSI pricing-₹15.00Natural Soy Pearl is ₹100.00 a kilogram under your rateFragrance line, on CSI pricing+₹20.65Lavender is ₹1,721.00 a kilogram over your rateCSI materials₹130.15wax ₹67.50 at ₹450.00/kg · oil ₹62.65 at ₹5.22/gNet: ₹5.65 more on CSI materials. Scented wax only — no vessel, wick or packaging.
What it shows: the scented wax in one 150 g candle at 8%, costed on the reader's rates and then re-costed line by line on live CSI materials in September 2026. The second bar is the wax line falling by ₹15.00 because the Natural Soy Pearl Wax is under the reader's ₹550.00/kg; the third is the fragrance line rising by ₹20.65 because the Lavender oil is over the reader's ₹3,500.00/kg. Deliberately left out: the vessel, the wick, labels, boxes, courier and the maker's own time, none of which this page will guess at. Both totals are 162 g of scented wax, so the two bars are directly comparable.
Straight answer
What does the scented wax inside one 150 g candle cost on ₹550.00/kg wax and ₹3,500.00/kg lavender?
₹124.50, reading the 150 g as the wax, which is the reading this page carries. A fragrance load is a percentage of wax weight, so 8% of 150 g is 12 g of oil and the jug holds 162 g of scented wax. Your wax at ₹550.00 a kilogram makes 150 g cost ₹82.50; your lavender at ₹3,500.00 a kilogram makes 12 g cost ₹42.00. That is the whole sub-assembly: no vessel, no wick, no label, no box. If your 150 g is instead the finished scented wax, divide by 1.08 for 138.89 g of wax and 11.11 g of oil, and the cost is ₹115.28 — ₹9.22 less. The figure worth writing down is neither of those totals but the rate behind them: ₹0.77 a gram of scented wax, which is identical under both readings because a mixture has one cost per gram however much of it you pour. It comes from a single line — (wax ₹/g + load × oil ₹/g) ÷ 1.08 — and it retires the whole calculation for every other size you make. Note where the money sits: fragrance is 7.4% of the grams and 33.7% of the cost, so a change in your oil rate moves this figure roughly four times as hard as the same percentage change in your wax rate. For a buyable comparison, the same 162 g on Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹450.00/kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.22/g is ₹130.15 — ₹5.65 more than your own figures, because the wax is ₹100.00 a kilogram cheaper and the lavender is ₹1,721.00 a kilogram dearer. Everything outside these two lines is real and is not in this number.
One line: ₹124.50 of scented wax at 150 g of wax and 12 g of oil, ₹115.28 if the 150 g is the finished mixture, and ₹0.77 a gram either way.
₹124.50 of scented wax in one 150 g candle, on your figures. ₹82.50 of wax and ₹42.00 of fragrance, which is ₹0.77 a gram of scented wax at 8%. The same 162 g on live CSI materials in September 2026 — Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹450.00/kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.22/g — is ₹130.15.

What “the scented wax” is, and why costing it on its own is worth doing

The mixture is the part of a candle that does not care what shape the jar is.

A candle has a vessel, a wick and a mixture, and only the mixture behaves like a recipe. Change the jar and the vessel line changes. Change the diameter and the wick line changes. The mixture — wax plus oil at a stated load — has one cost per gram that holds across your whole range, and pulling it out as its own figure is the single most useful thing you can do to a candle cost sheet. That is what this page costs, and it deliberately stops there.

Two of the three inputs came with your question: wax at ₹550.00 a kilogram and lavender fragrance oil at ₹3,500.00 a kilogram. Those are your rates, kept exactly as written, unrounded, and never treated here as CSI prices. The third input, the load, you did not give. This page uses 8%, which is the middle of the 6–10% of total wax weight that the Lavender Fragrance Oil page states for soy candles. It is a published range rather than a guess, and if you work at 6% or 10% the method below is unchanged — only the multiplier moves.

Which leaves the sentence "one 150 g candle", and it has two honest readings. It can mean 150 g of wax, in which case 8% adds 12 g of oil and 162 g of scented wax comes out of your jug. Or it can mean 150 g of finished scented wax, in which case the wax has to come down to make room for the oil. This page carries the first reading — 150 g of wax, 12 g of oil, 162 g of mixture — and states it in every table. The second is costed beside it so you can take whichever is yours.

Priced above: your own ₹550.00/kg wax and ₹3,500.00/kg lavender fragrance oil, used exactly as given, at a load of 8% of wax weight. The two columns are ₹9.22 apart, and both are arithmetically correct — only one of them describes your candle. Figures are displayed to the paisa and multiplied unrounded. No vessel, wick, label, box or courier appears in either column.
The CSI principle
A mixture has one rate. A candle has a size.
₹0.77 a gram is the same in both columns above. All that changes is how many grams you pour — 162 g or 150 g.

The one line that produces the rate

Two prices and a percentage go in. One number comes out, and it outlives every jar you buy.

Look at the last two rows of that table again. The totals differ by ₹9.22; the rate does not differ at all. That is not a coincidence and it is not an approximation. A gram of 8% mixture is made of the same proportions whether you pour 10 g of it or a kilogram, so it has one price. Written out: a gram of mixture is 1 ÷ 1.08 grams of wax and 0.08 ÷ 1.08 grams of oil, which rearranges to (wax ₹/g + load × oil ₹/g) ÷ (1 + load).

On your figures that is (₹0.55 + 0.08 × ₹3.50) ÷ 1.08 = ₹0.77 a gram of scented wax. Every other rupee figure on this page is that number multiplied by a weight. 162 g gives ₹124.50; 150 g gives ₹115.28. Nothing else needs to be derived again until a price changes or you change the load.

1
1. Decide what your stated weight describes, and write it downWax, or finished mixture. Put the answer at the top of the sheet and do not let it drift between products. This page uses 150 g of wax. If yours is the finished mixture, divide by 1.08 first: 150 ÷ 1.08 = 138.89 g of wax.
2
2. Put both prices on a per-gram basisA kilogram rate divided by 1,000 is a gram rate. Your wax is ₹550.00/kg, so ₹0.55 a gram. Your lavender is ₹3,500.00/kg, so ₹3.50 a gram. Use the pack you actually buy — on Lavender Fragrance Oil the 100 gm pack is ₹5.40 a gram against ₹5.22 at 1 kg, and costing the kilogram rate while buying the small pack is the commonest way to under-cost a candle.
3
3. Compute the mixture rate once(₹0.55 + 0.08 × ₹3.50) ÷ 1.08 = ₹0.77 a gram. Store it in one cell with its load and its date beside it. Everything downstream points at that cell rather than repeating the formula.
4
4. Multiply by the grams you actually pour162 g of mixture is ₹124.50. 120 g of wax plus its oil is ₹99.60; 250 g of wax plus its oil is ₹207.50. Add your vessel and wick after this step, never before it, or the rate stops being reusable.

250.00 g 20.00 g 270.00 g ₹137.50 ₹70.00 ₹207.50
Priced above: your ₹550.00/kg wax and ₹3,500.00/kg lavender at 8% of wax weight throughout. Every row works out at ₹0.77 a gram of scented wax, which is the point of the table. The four wax weights are illustrative figures to read your own measurement against — they are not published capacities for any vessel, and CSI does not publish a fill weight for most of its containers.
MEASURE THE POUR, NOT THE LISTING
Before you trust any of these rows, find out what your jar really takes. Fill it with water to your intended wax line, weigh the water, multiply by about 0.9 for soy, and you have the wax weight. It is general candle-making practice and it takes two minutes. Makers doing it for the first time almost always find the real figure is not the round number on the listing, and at ₹0.77 a gram a 10 g error is ₹7.69 a candle — in whichever direction you were wrong.
Costing at the kilogram rate while buying the small pack. It is the quiet one, because the sheet looks right. On Lavender Fragrance Oil the 1 kg pack is ₹5.22 a gram and the 100 gm pack is ₹5.40 a gram; costing a 12 g dose at the kilogram rate while actually buying 100 gm packs understates the fragrance line by ₹2.15 a candle. Cost at the rate of the pack in your cupboard, and re-cost the day you move up.
Taking 8% off the finished mixture weight. 150 g minus 8% gives 138 g of wax and 12 g of oil, which is tidy and is a 8.70% load on wax weight rather than an 8% one. The costing error is a few paise. The formulation error is the one that matters, because the load you burn-tested is not the load you poured. The correct division is 150 ÷ 1.08, which gives 138.89 g of wax and 11.11 g of oil, and checks back to a true 8%.
The same mixture on stock you can order today. Natural Soy Pearl Wax 1 kg ₹450.00 (₹450.00/kg) and 5 kg ₹2,124.00 (₹424.80/kg) · Lavender Fragrance Oil 100 gm ₹540.00 (₹5.40/g), 500 gm ₹2,620.00 (₹5.24/g), 1 kg ₹5,221.00 (₹5.22/g). At 150 g of wax a candle, 5 kg of wax is 33.33 candles and needs 400 g of oil beside it.

A cost sheet you cannot buy from is an opinion. Here is the same mixture with real part numbers, and it is not the answer a supplier would choose.

Your rates may well be good ones, and on this pairing they are. Here is the identical calculation — 150 g of wax, 12 g of oil at 8%, 162 g of mixture — run on live CSI stock in September 2026. The wax is Natural Soy Pearl Wax, bought as the 1 kg pack at ₹450.00, which is ₹450.00 a kilogram. The fragrance is Lavender Fragrance Oil, bought as the 1 kg pack at ₹5,221.00, which is ₹5.22 a gram.

Your ₹550.00/kg and ₹3,500.00/kg are your own figures and are not CSI prices. Both columns cost the same 150 g of wax and 12 g of oil, so the comparison is like for like.

Read that honestly, because the total goes the wrong way for a supplier's page. The wax line falls: Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹450.00 a kilogram is ₹100.00 a kilogram under your rate, worth ₹15.00 on 150 g. The fragrance line rises: Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.22 a gram is ₹1,721.00 a kilogram over your rate, which on only 12 g is ₹20.65. Twelve grams of the dearer material beat 150 g of the cheaper one, and the net is ₹5.65 more on the CSI pairing. That is the arithmetic; it is not an argument for either side.

What it is an argument for is comparing oils by cost per finished candle at the load each one actually needs, rather than by price per kilogram on a listing. A lavender that holds a room at 6% is cheaper per candle than one that needs 10%, whatever the two kilogram prices say — the live guide to comparing oils by cost per finished candle sets out the test. If your ₹3,500.00/kg lavender gives you the cold throw and the hot throw you want at 8%, it is doing its job and this page is not going to tell you to replace it. If it needs 10% to be heard, re-run the sum at 10% for both oils before you decide.

The cheaper kilogram is not always the cheaper candle.

Where the rate actually moves: pack sizes and parcels

On this store most waxes cost the same per kilogram at every size. This one is an exception, and it is worth knowing which.

Costing exercises usually end with someone reaching for a bigger pack, so it is worth being exact about what that does here. Across CSI's wax range the rate per kilogram is the same at every pack size on most grades, and on a few it is slightly higher in the larger pack. Natural Soy Pearl Wax is one of the two exceptions that genuinely move: ₹450.00 for 1 kg is ₹450.00 a kilogram, and ₹2,124.00 for 5 kg is ₹424.80 a kilogram. That is ₹25.20 a kilogram, or ₹3.78 on a 150 g candle. The 10 kg and 50 kg packs sit at the same ₹424.80 a kilogram as the 5 kg, so the move worth making is the first one.

The fragrance ladder is shaped differently. Lavender Fragrance Oil runs ₹7.00 a gram at 15 gm, then ₹5.40 at 50 gm and again at 100 gm, ₹5.24 at 500 gm and ₹5.22 at 1 kg. Almost the whole of it is collected in the first step, from the 15 gm trial size to the 50 gm: after that the rate barely moves. In candle terms, going from the 100 gm pack to the kilogram takes ₹2.15 off a 150 g candle, and going from 500 gm to the kilogram takes ₹0.23. Other oils on the store behave differently — check the ladder on the one you buy rather than assuming a pattern.

ORDER-VALUE CODES ARE NOT QUANTITY BREAKS
CSI publishes spend-based codes — HAPPY5 at 5% over ₹5,000, BIZWIZ8 at 8% over ₹12,000 and YAY10 at 10% over ₹20,000. They turn on what the whole basket comes to, not on which pack size you pick, so a basket of small packs reaches a threshold exactly as a basket of large ones does. A 5 kg pack of Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹2,124.00 plus a 500 gm Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹2,620.00 clears the first threshold on its own. A basket padded out with an untested scent has not saved you anything. For a large consignment, ask on WhatsApp.
Chasing the pack rate and ignoring the parcel. The 5 kg pack of Natural Soy Pearl Wax takes ₹3.78 off a 150 g candle, which is real. Delivery to you is larger and is not on most cost sheets at all. That 5 kg pack carries a stored packed weight of 5.5 kg and the cheapest published band covering it in September 2026 is ₹630.00 on Standard Shipping — ₹18.90 a candle across the 33.33 candles it makes. Sending the wax and the oil as one consignment rather than two helps: the 1 kg oil pack ships at 1.5 kg for ₹180.00, so separately the two come to ₹810.00 against ₹630.00 together, a difference of ₹180.00. Two reviews on the store say these charges are high; that is a fair criticism and consolidating is the honest answer to it. Bands are as published in September 2026 and can change.

What the ₹124.50 deliberately leaves out

Everything inside the candle is here. Everything around it is yours.

₹124.50 is the mixture and nothing else, and that is a feature rather than an omission: the vessel and the wick change with every product in your range, while the mixture rate does not. Add them as their own lines when you cost a finished product — the live guide to wax, fragrance, wick, jar and packaging cost per candle walks the whole bill. CSI sells wax, fragrance, vessels and wicks, so all four can be priced from a live store whenever you need them. Nothing below that line is a CSI product, which means no honest number for it exists on this page.

The rest of the sheet · your figures
Costs this page will not guess at

Your labour, per candle Not a CSI product, and the line most makers leave at zero —
Wastage allowance An assumption, not a measurement — set your own percentage after a batch —
Scented wax on your rates The two lines this page costs ₹124.50
Priced above: only the ₹124.50 mixture line, which is 150 g of wax at your ₹550.00/kg plus 12 g of oil at your ₹3,500.00/kg. Every other row is deliberately empty. Never write a typical figure into a blank: a borrowed number that reaches your shelf price does more damage than an obvious hole in the sheet.

Two blanks are worth a paragraph of their own. Wastage is not a figure this page will invent, and it is not zero: wax clings to the jug and the thermometer, a pour is abandoned, a wick sits crooked and the candle becomes a second. Assuming none makes ₹124.50 a floor. Measure it across one full batch — the wax you started with against the candles you finished with — and the percentage you get is worth more than any figure quoted online. Your labour is the line makers leave blank longest, and leaving it blank is a decision rather than a neutral act: a candle holding ₹124.50 of mixture and forty minutes of a Sunday is not a ₹124.50 candle.

One last honest note on the load. Natural Soy Pearl Wax does not publish a maximum fragrance load on its product page, so this page does not state one for it. The governing published figure on this pairing is the Lavender Fragrance Oil page's 6–10% of total wax weight for soy candles, and the 8% used throughout sits in the middle of it. Where a wax ceiling and an oil range differ, it is the lower of the two that binds. Before working above the oil's stated range on any pairing, ask on WhatsApp and burn-test the result — the cost sheet will not tell you that a load is too high, but a sweating candle in an Indian May will.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA sells both of the materials on this page, and the page still tells you that the CSI pairing costs ₹5.65 more than your own on a 150 g candle. The wax is genuinely cheaper — ₹100.00 a kilogram under your rate — but Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5.22 a gram is ₹1,721.00 a kilogram over yours, and at 8% the fragrance line is the one that decides. If your ₹3,500.00/kg lavender performs, keep it. The honest comparison is by cost per finished candle at the load each oil actually needs, not by rate per kilogram on a listing.

Every CSI price here is live stock in September 2026, taxes included, and the linked product pages are authoritative if anything changes. Fragrance load is a percentage of wax weight, as CSI product pages state it. The Lavender Fragrance Oil page states 6–10% of total wax weight for soy candles and states IFRA certification; Natural Soy Pearl Wax does not publish a maximum fragrance load, so on this pairing the oil page's range is the only published figure and it governs. Where a wax ceiling and an oil range differ, the lower one governs. Your question did not name a load, so this page uses 8% — the middle of that stated range — and says so wherever it matters. The ₹550.00/kg and ₹3,500.00/kg are your figures, carried unrounded and never presented as CSI prices. Zero wastage is assumed, which is an assumption and not a measurement. Shipping is quoted only as a published flat band by weight as at September 2026; labels, boxes, courier to your own customer, gateway fees, labour, electricity and rent are not CSI products and are left blank.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the cost per gram the same under both readings of “150 g”?
Because it is a property of the recipe, not of the candle. An 8% mixture is ₹0.77 a gram on your rates whether you pour 162 g of it or 150 g of it — only the number of grams changes, so only the total changes, by ₹9.22. That is exactly why the rate is the figure worth storing and the total is not.
How much does the fragrance contribute to my scented wax cost?
33.73% of the money while being only 7.4% of the weight, on your rates at 8%. Your lavender costs about six and a third times what your wax costs per gram, so a 10% move in your oil rate shifts the mixture by ₹4.20 a candle against ₹8.25 for the same move on the wax. Shop the oil rate harder than the wax rate — and shop it by cost per candle, not by kilogram price.
What happens to the rate if I move off 8%?
It rises with the load, because more of the mixture becomes the expensive component. On your rates and within the 6–10% of total wax weight stated on the Lavender Fragrance Oil page, keep one stored rate per load and label each with its percentage. Do not reuse an 8% rate on a 10% product: the grams look similar and the money does not.
How many 150 g candles does a 1 kg pack cover?
6.67 candles from 1 kg of wax at 150 g each, and 83.33 candles from 1 kg of fragrance oil at 12 g each, with no wastage allowance in either figure. A 5 kg pack of Natural Soy Pearl Wax is 33.33 candles and wants 400 g of oil beside it — buy the two in matched quantities rather than in round numbers.
Should I switch to the CSI wax if it is cheaper per kilogram?
Not on the price alone. Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹450.00 a kilogram is ₹100.00 a kilogram under your rate, worth ₹15.00 on a 150 g candle — real, and smaller than one repoured batch costs. A wax change alters the pour, the surface and the wick size, so it needs its own burn test before it is a saving. Change wax because it performs, and take the rate as a bonus.
Does this figure include GST?
CSI store prices are inclusive of applicable taxes — the Natural Soy Pearl Wax listing and the wider store state that prices include taxes — and GST invoicing is available on request through WhatsApp. Your own ₹550.00/kg and ₹3,500.00/kg are whatever basis you recorded them on, which is worth checking before you compare the two columns. This page does not calculate your tax position and is not tax advice — that belongs with your own adviser.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. The method — cost the mixture rather than the candle, reduce it to one cost per gram of scented wax with (wax ₹/g + load × oil ₹/g) ÷ (1 + load), then multiply by the grams you actually pour — works with any supplier, any wax and any currency.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me. One longer review is shortened with an ellipsis; wording is otherwise unedited. Two are below five stars and one is not recorded as a verified purchase — shown as recorded. Not recorded by Judge.me as a verified purchase, so shown without a verified-buyer badge: Mahak agarwal. No location is shown against any review because Judge.me does not store one.

Figures verified September 2026 (CSI live pricing). The reader's figures, used exactly as given in the question and never presented as CSI prices: soy wax ₹550.00 per kg, lavender fragrance oil ₹3,500.00 per kg, one 150 g candle. The question names no fragrance load, so this page uses 8% of wax weight, the middle of the 6–10% of total wax weight the Lavender Fragrance Oil page states for soy candles. Series convention: load is a percentage of wax weight. This page carries the reading where 150 g is the wax — 150 g plus 12 g of oil, 162 g of scented wax — and shows the alternative reading (150 g of finished scented wax = 138.89 g wax + 11.11 g oil, ₹115.28) alongside. Live CSI prices, September 2026, taxes included. Wax: Natural Soy Pearl Wax 1 kg ₹450.00 (₹450.00/kg), 5 kg ₹2,124.00 (₹424.80/kg), 10 kg ₹4,248.00 (₹424.80/kg), 50 kg ₹21,240.00; the product page describes it as a pearlised soy pearl wax made from a blend of soy wax and does not publish a maximum fragrance load, which is stated as not published rather than estimated. Fragrance: Lavender Fragrance Oil 15 gm ₹105.02 (₹7.00/g), 50 gm ₹270.00 (₹5.40/g), 100 gm ₹540.00 (₹5.40/g), 500 gm ₹2,620.00 (₹5.24/g), 1 kg ₹5,221.00 (₹5.22/g); the page states a floral, herbal, fresh family, candle use at 6–10% of total wax weight and IFRA certification. Shipping: the 5 kg wax pack stores a packed weight of 5.5 kg and the 1 kg oil pack 1.5 kg; the cheapest published bands covering those weights in September 2026 are ₹630.00 and ₹180.00 on Standard Shipping, and the band covering the two together at 7 kg or under is ₹630.00. Rates are published flat bands as at September 2026 and can change. Published order-value discount codes quoted: HAPPY5 5% over ₹5,000, BIZWIZ8 8% over ₹12,000, YAY10 10% over ₹20,000; these are order-value discounts, not quantity breaks. Illustrative: the 120 g, 180 g and 250 g wax weights are illustrative figures to read a measurement against, not published capacities for any vessel; the page assumes zero wastage, which is an assumption and not measured data. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
