Ten kilos of fragrance is not one big bottle. It is a scent portfolio — and how you split it matters more than the price.

Ten kilos of fragrance oil scents about 625 × 200g candles at an 8% load. CSI lists no 10 kg pack — 1 kg is the largest — so on listed prices it is ten 1 kg bottles, and almost always across several scents. This guide shows how to split 10 kg into a portfolio, what a six-scent split costs, and how to order and time it.

200g candles at 8% from 10 kg of oil (500 at 10%, 384 at 13%) · bought as 10 × 1 kg at listed prices, usually across 4–6 scents · multi-scent volume quoted on WhatsApp · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Can I buy 10 kg of candle fragrance oil in one pack? No. 1 kg is the largest fragrance pack CSI lists, so 10 kg is ten 1 kg bottles. For a quote on 10 kg across several scents, or a recurring quantity, message CSI on WhatsApp.

How many candles is 10 kg? About 625 × 200g candles at 8%, 500 at 10% and 384 at 13% — and about 115 kg of wax to pour them at 8%.

How should I split 10 kg? For most brands, four core scents at 2 kg each and two seasonal scents at 1 kg each: 125 candles of each core scent and 62 of each seasonal. Ten kilos of one scent only suits a single very large order.

What does it cost? At listed prices the six-scent split in this guide is ₹46,677 — ₹74.80 of oil per candle. Ten kilos across the range runs from ₹28,320 (10 × the cheapest kilo) to ₹64,990 at the median kilo price; those listed totals are the ceiling.
The short answer
Split by role, not evenly: core scents get depth (2 kg each), seasonal scents get one kilo, and untested scents get none — they belong in 100 g sample batches.
Time the kilos to the season: seasonal oil first, so it can be poured and cured before Diwali on 8 November 2026; core kilos in two drops, so ₹17,965 stays out of bottles until the first kilos run low.
Order it as one message: a scent-by-scent table with kilos, drop dates, GST number and the documents you need gets a quote you can act on.

Both rows are ten 1 kg bottles at CSI's listed prices, and they make 624 and 623 whole candles. The top row suits a range whose four core scents sell at similar speeds; the bottom row suits a range with one clear leader. The cost barely moves between them — ₹608.20 — while the stock position in each scent changes completely.
Straight answer
I need about 10 kg of candle fragrance oil — how should I buy it, split it and pay for it?
Buy it as a portfolio, not a single scent. 1 kg is the largest fragrance pack CSI lists, so 10 kg on listed prices is ten 1 kg bottles, and that total is the ceiling; for a quote on the whole multi-scent quantity, send one message on WhatsApp. Ten kilos scent about 625 × 200g candles at 8%, which is more than most small brands sell of any one scent in a season, so split by role. A sound default is four core scents at 2 kg and two seasonal scents at 1 kg: Jasmine, Cinnamon Vanilla, Blue Ocean and Woody Oud as the core (125 candles each), with Cinnamon and Bergamot Amber for the festive season (62 each). At listed prices that is ₹46,677, or ₹74.80 of oil per candle. Time it to the calendar: order the seasonal kilos and one kilo of each core scent now (₹28,712), pour the festive scents by about 18 October so a 21-day cure finishes before Diwali on 8 November, and take the second core drop (₹17,965) when the first kilos run low. Plan the rest of the order too — about 115 kg of wax and 624 wicks, or ₹1,22,500 in total with Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Eco Candle Wicks.
One line: treat 10 kg as six scents with jobs — four core at 2 kg, two seasonal at 1 kg — bought in two drops, ordered in one WhatsApp message, and planned around 115 kg of wax.
Building a 10 kg portfolio? Jasmine 1 kg ₹3,923, Woody Oud ₹4,531.20, Cinnamon Vanilla ₹4,554.80, Blue Ocean ₹4,956, Cinnamon ₹5,310 and Bergamot Amber ₹5,437. Multi-scent quotes and documentation on WhatsApp.

10 kg is ten 1 kg bottles — and rarely ten of the same

Nobody needs 625 candles that all smell the same. Almost everybody who needs 10 kg needs a range.

Every CSI fragrance oil stops at 1 kg. Of the 106 fragrance-oil listings (classic, Royale and oud, and designer- and BBW-inspired oils; essential oils, perfume, attar and diffuser bases excluded), 87 have a 1 kg pack in stock. So 10 kg bought through the store is ten 1 kg bottles at listed kilo prices. There is no 10 kg price to quote, and we will not invent one. The listed total is the most 10 kg will cost; a multi-scent quantity, a regular order or anything beyond the listed packs is quoted on WhatsApp.

On listed prices, ten of the cheapest in-stock kilo (Citrus Lemon, ₹2,832) is ₹28,320; ten at the median kilo price of ₹6,499 is ₹64,990; ten of the dearest is ₹2,40,560. But the total matters less than the split, because 10 kg at 8% is about 625 candles and the question is how many of those each scent should be.

How far 10 kg of fragrance oil goes · by candle size and load
Candles from 10 kg, and the wax they need
Candle size At 8% At 10% At 13% Wax to use all 10 kg at 8%
100 g candle 1,250 1,000 769 115 kg
150 g jar 833 666 512 115 kg
200 g candle 625 500 384 115 kg
250 g candle 500 400 307 115 kg

At the 13% ceiling stated for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468, the same ten kilos make 241 fewer 200g candles than at 8%. At a portfolio scale that difference is a whole scent's worth of production, so the load belongs in the plan before the kilos are split. The quantity-by-load arithmetic for large runs is also covered in how much fragrance oil for 1,000 candles.

Four ways to split 10 kg

There are really only four shapes a 10 kg order can take. Each uses the same ten bottles and the same amount of wax. What changes is which scents you can still sell in the tenth week.

Four split shapes for 10 kg · 200g candles at 8% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Same ten kilos, four very different stock positions
Split Scents × kilos Candles per scent Listed oil cost Suits Risk
One scent 1 × 10 kg 625 ₹39,230 as 10 × Jasmine One very large client order in a single scent The whole season rides on one smell
Even 10 × 1 kg 62 each ₹64,990 at the median kilo A wide range still finding its bestsellers Ten SKUs, no depth: bestsellers run out first, slow scents linger
Core + seasonal 4 × 2 kg + 2 × 1 kg 125 core · 62 seasonal ₹46,677 (portfolio below) An established range heading into a season Needs an honest ranking of the four core scents
Weighted to sales 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 kg 187 · 125 · 125 · 62 · 62 · 62 ₹46,068.80 (same six oils) A range with one clear leader Over-weighting a scent whose lead was one good month

For most small and mid-sized Indian candle brands going into the festive quarter, core + seasonal is the right default. It gives each proven scent enough depth to last ten weeks at about 12 candles a week, puts festive oil on the shelf in time to cure, and keeps the total scent count to six — a size a customer can actually choose from. Switch to weighted-to-sales only when your tallies show one scent clearly ahead over at least two months. How to build a festive line without SKU sprawl is covered in creating a festive candle collection without buying too many oils.

The mistake: splitting 10 kg evenly across ten scents. It feels fair and looks like a big range. In practice ten scents at 62 candles each means your two bestsellers run out in the busiest weeks while four slow scents are still half-full at the end of the season. Ten kilos should buy depth in what sells, not breadth in what might. New scents do not belong in a 10 kg order at all — trial them in 100 g sample batches alongside it.

A costed six-scent portfolio

Here is the core + seasonal split with real oils and listed prices. The four core scents cover floral, gourmand, fresh and woody, so the range has a scent for most customers; the two seasonal scents are warm, spiced and amber-toned for Diwali and the winter gifting that follows. Swap any scent for a proven one of your own in the same role — the structure is the point.

Priced above: listed 1 kg prices — Jasmine ₹3,923 · Woody Oud ₹4,531.20 · Cinnamon Vanilla ₹4,554.80 · Blue Ocean ₹4,956 · Cinnamon ₹5,310 · Bergamot Amber ₹5,437. Cost = kilos × 1 kg price. Candles = 2,000 g ÷ 16 g = 125, or 1,000 g ÷ 16 g = 62 whole candles; 4 × 125 + 2 × 62 = 624. Average oil per candle = ₹46,677 ÷ 624 = ₹74.80. Ladder check = 2 × 500 g price − 1 kg price: Jasmine ₹1,961 × 2 − ₹3,923 = −₹1 · Cinnamon Vanilla ₹2,301 × 2 − ₹4,554.80 = ₹47.20 · Blue Ocean ₹2,478 × 2 − ₹4,956 = ₹0 · Woody Oud ₹2,265.60 × 2 − ₹4,531.20 = ₹0 · Cinnamon ₹2,950 × 2 − ₹5,310 = ₹590 · Bergamot Amber ₹2,718 × 2 − ₹5,437 = −₹1. Buying kilos rather than pairs of 500 g bottles saves ₹681.40 across the portfolio: Cinnamon Vanilla ₹47.20 × 2 kilos + Cinnamon ₹590 − Jasmine ₹1 × 2 kilos − Bergamot Amber ₹1.

Three things are worth noticing. First, the ladder check barely matters here — five of the six oils are within ₹47.20 of the kilo price as two 500 g bottles — except Cinnamon, where the kilo is clearly the right pack. That is typical: for most of the range the 10 kg decision is about split and timing, not per-gram price. Second, the oil cost per candle is tight, from ₹62.77 to ₹86.99, so you can price the whole range at one retail price without the dearest scent eroding its margin much. Third, the seasonal scents cost the most per candle but are also the scents with the shortest selling window — another reason they get one kilo each, not two.

Give every kilo a job title
Before a scent goes on a 10 kg order sheet, write its role next to it: core (sells all year, gets depth), seasonal (sells in a window, gets one kilo), or test (not proven — gets 100 g, not a kilo). If you cannot give a scent a role, it does not belong in the order. The broader planning method is in how to plan fragrance inventory before the festive season.

Timing 10 kg across the festive quarter

Ten kilos bought on one day is a storage problem. Ten kilos bought to a calendar is a production plan.

It is mid-September 2026. Diwali falls on 8 November, and soy container candles want a 14–21 day cure. Working backwards, festive candles need pouring by about 18 October for a full 21-day cure — earlier if they have to be shipped or packed into hampers. The core scents sell steadily either side of the festival. That makes a natural two-drop plan, shown here with the six-scent portfolio at an example core rate of about 12 candles a week per scent.

Two-drop plan for the six-scent portfolio · example sales rates · dates from 8 November 2026
What to order when, and what it costs at listed prices
When Order Listed cost Why then
Mid-September (now) Cinnamon 1 kg · Bergamot Amber 1 kg · 1 kg each of Jasmine, Cinnamon Vanilla, Blue Ocean, Woody Oud ₹28,712 Seasonal oil must be poured and cured before Diwali; one core kilo each covers about five weeks at 12 candles a week
By about 18 October Nothing new — finish pouring the 124 festive candles A 21-day cure from 18 October ends on 8 November
Mid to late October Second kilo of each core scent ₹17,965 The first core kilos (62 candles each) run low after about five weeks
After Diwali Review seasonal sell-through before buying winter oils Reorder the seasonal scent that sold out, not the one left on the shelf
Quarter total 10 × 1 kg ₹46,677 Day-one cash is 61.5% of the total

The two-drop plan keeps ₹17,965 out of bottles for about a month at no extra listed cost per kilo, and it gives you a decision point: if one core scent is clearly outselling the others by October, the second drop can be rebalanced — two kilos of the leader and none of the laggard — without changing the total. The one limit of buying in drops at listed prices is that prices and stock can change between them. If you want the full quarter's quantities and prices agreed at the start, ask for exactly that on WhatsApp. Timing for festive fragrance orders in more detail: how early candle brands should order fragrance oils for Diwali.

The CSI principle
At ten kilos you are not buying fragrance. You are deciding what your brand will smell like for the next season.
The listed cost of a sensible 10 kg split barely changes with the scents you choose. What changes is whether your bestseller is still on the shelf in December — and that is decided by the split and the calendar, not the price.

What 10 kg of oil needs behind it

At 8%, every kilo of oil needs 11.5 kg of wax, so ten kilos commit you to more than a hundred kilos of wax, hundreds of wicks and a melter schedule. Here is the full materials picture for the 624 candles of the six-scent portfolio, with three listed wax options.

Order with Luxury Soy Wax Chunks ₹1,22,500 ₹196.31 per candle before jars and packaging; oil is 38.1%

On the Electric Wax Melter, 114.82 kg of wax is twelve melts in the 10 kgs capacity variant (₹21,240) or six in the 20 kgs capacity variant (₹25,960). And because the portfolio has six scents, those melts are also scent changes: plan the pour days scent by scent, and put the festive scents first so their cure clock starts early. The wax-side view of this volume is in buying 100 kg of soy wax.

The mistake: ordering 10 kg of oil and working out the wax later. The wax is the larger bill — ₹71,988 against ₹46,677 on this order — and the heavier, bulkier delivery. If the wax budget or the storage space is not there, the ten kilos of fragrance will sit in bottles waiting for it. Price the wax and wicks in the same sitting as the oil, and decide the wax before the load, because the load you can use depends on the wax's stated ceiling.
Ordering oil, wax and wicks together? The listed packs stop at 1 kg for fragrance and 10 kg or 50 kg for wax. For a consolidated multi-scent order, bulk pricing, GST invoicing and MSDS/IFRA documentation for each oil are handled on WhatsApp.

1
Core · floral · the lowest-cost kilo in the portfolio
Jasmine Fragrance Oil
Jasmine is a floral closely tied to Indian festivals and gifting, which makes it a strong year-round core scent. At ₹3,923 per kilo it is also the cheapest kilo in the portfolio — ₹62.77 of oil per 200g candle at 8%. Two 500 g bottles cost ₹1 less than the kilo, so either route works. Its CSI reviewer calls it "A must buy item!!" Positioning notes are in best jasmine and mogra fragrance oils for candles.

Core · gourmand · a warm everyday seller
Cinnamon Vanilla
A soft, sweet-spiced gourmand that works across the year and leans naturally into the festive season, which makes it a useful bridge between the core and seasonal parts of a range. ₹4,554.80 per kilo, and one of the oils where the kilo is the cheaper route — ₹47.20 less than two 500 g bottles. It carries two CSI reviews. Vanilla-leaning oils can tint pale wax over time, so check a cured candle before you commit two kilos to white jars.

Seasonal · spice · the kilo is clearly the right pack
Cinnamon Fragrance Oil
A straightforward warm spice for Diwali and winter collections. It is the one oil in this portfolio where pack size genuinely changes the price: ₹5,310 for 1 kg against ₹5,900 for two 500 g bottles or ten 100 g, so the seasonal kilo saves ₹590 — ₹9.44 on every candle. One kilo gives 62 festive candles; if they sell out before Diwali, that is the signal to give it two kilos next year, not to reorder mid-season when there is no time left to cure.

Seasonal · amber · festive and gifting warmth
Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil
A bright-top, warm-base amber that sits well in festive gift sets beside a spice scent, giving the seasonal pair two different characters rather than two cinnamons. ₹5,437 per kilo — the dearest oil in the portfolio at ₹86.99 per candle, and two 500 g bottles cost ₹1 less, so buy whichever is convenient. It has no CSI reviews yet, so it should have passed your own sample batch before it takes a kilo slot. More on the family: best amber fragrance oils for warm, expensive-smelling candles.

Building the 10 kg order sheet

A multi-scent order is easiest to quote, pack and check when it arrives as a single table rather than a string of messages. The steps below turn your sales records into that table.

1
Rank your scents by the last eight weeks of candles soldUse tallies, not impressions. The top four become core candidates; anything with fewer than a handful of sales a week drops to 500 g or out of the order.
2
Assign kilos by roleCore 2 kg, seasonal 1 kg, test 0 kg. If one core scent is clearly ahead over two months, move a kilo to it from the weakest core scent. Keep the total at ten.
3
Check each oil's 500 g and 1 kg pricesMark any scent where two 500 g bottles are cheaper than the kilo, and any where the kilo is clearly cheaper — Cinnamon in this portfolio. Check on the day, because prices change.
4
Add drop dates, load and candle countOne row per scent: product link, kilos, drop 1 and drop 2, load and candle size. The load tells anyone reading the sheet what the kilos are for, and whether they add up.
5
Send it as one WhatsApp message with GST number, pincode and documents neededAsk for MSDS and IFRA documentation per oil if you need them, and include wax and wicks if you want them quoted on the same order.
6
Check the delivery against the sheet, bottle by bottleTick every label against its row, smell each scent against your reference, date the bottles and store the second-drop kilos sealed. Pour one test candle per scent before its first full melt.
The mistake: letting the order sheet grow in the WhatsApp chat. "Also add two kilos of…" messages sent over three days produce a quote nobody can check and a delivery that does not match what you meant. Finalise the table first, send it once, and change it only by resending the whole table. At six scents and two drops, that one discipline prevents most of the errors a 10 kg order can have.
Ten kilos of one scent is a gamble. Ten kilos across six scents with jobs is a season.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A 10 kg order is a large one, and the split we recommend — six scents, depth only where sales justify it, two drops rather than one — is not the split that maximises a single order. It is the split that leaves a brand with its bestsellers in stock in December and no half-full bottles of slow scents in January, which is what brings the next season's order.

Every price, pack size and stock status here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026. CSI does not list a 10 kg fragrance pack; every 10 kg figure is ten × the listed 1 kg price, a ceiling rather than a quote. Range figures count the 106 CSI fragrance-oil listings (essential oils, perfume, attar and diffuser bases excluded). Wax loads, temperatures and melter capacities are quoted only as the product pages state them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy 10 kg of candle fragrance oil in India?
Yes, but not as one listed pack. At CSI, 1 kg is the largest fragrance pack, so 10 kg through the store is ten 1 kg bottles at listed prices, and that total is the most it will cost. For a quote on 10 kg — especially across several scents or as a recurring order — send CSI one WhatsApp message with a scent-by-scent table, GST number and delivery pincode.
How many candles does 10 kg of fragrance oil make?
At an 8% load, about 625 × 200g candles, since each uses 16g of oil. At 10% it is 500 and at 13% it is 384. In 150g jars at 8% it is 833. Split into whole kilos across scents the count rounds down slightly — the six-scent portfolio in this guide makes 624. At 8% you need about 115 kg of wax to use all 10 kg.
How should I split 10 kg of fragrance oil between scents?
For most brands, four core scents at 2 kg and two seasonal scents at 1 kg — 125 candles of each core scent and 62 of each seasonal one at 8%. If one scent clearly outsells the rest for two months, weight the split towards it (for example 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1). Avoid ten scents at 1 kg each, and keep untested scents out of the order.
What does 10 kg of candle fragrance oil cost?
On CSI's listed prices, 10 × 1 kg runs from ₹28,320 (the cheapest in-stock kilo, Citrus Lemon) to ₹2,40,560 for the dearest designer-inspired oil, with ₹64,990 at the median kilo price. How much wax and how many wicks do I need for 10 kg of fragrance oil?
For 624 × 200g candles at 8%, about 114.82 kg of wax and 624 wicks. With Luxury Soy Wax Chunks that is twelve 10 kg bags (₹71,988); CSI 464 is ₹60,888; Natural Soy Pearl Wax as 2 × 50 kg + 2 × 10 kg is ₹50,976 but should be tested first, as its page states no load. Eco Candle Wicks C1 as 500 + 100 + 50 cost ₹3,835.
Should I buy all 10 kg of fragrance oil at once?
Usually not. Buy seasonal kilos and one kilo of each core scent first, then the second core kilos when the first run low. For the six-scent portfolio that is ₹28,712 now and ₹17,965 later, at the same listed price per kilo. For Diwali on 8 November 2026, festive scents should be poured by about 18 October for a 21-day cure. Prices and stock can change between drops, so ask for a quarterly quote if you want them fixed.
