What goes in a summer basket? Five oils covering citrus, fresh green, juicy citrus, melon and cool mint: Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil, Cucumber Green Tea, Juicy Orange, Honeydew Melon and Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil. All five are in stock at every size on 24 September 2026.
How much does a summer test order cost? The five oils at 50 g cost ₹1,154.93. With 3 kg of wax, 20 jars, 20 wicks and wick stickers, the full test basket is ₹4,783.13: ₹239.16 per test candle, before freight and GST.
And the launch order? After testing, a worked-example launch basket of two 500 g winners plus three 100 g supporting oils, with wax, jars and wicks, makes 106 candles for ₹23,266.22, or ₹219.49 per candle in materials.
The order calendar for summer 2027
It is 24 September 2026 as we write, and the next Indian summer is roughly April to June 2027. That sounds far away. It is not, because the three months before it hold the main gifting dates of the candle calendar: Diwali on 8 November 2026, Christmas on 25 December 2026 and Valentine's Day on 14 February 2027. If you make seasonal candles, your summer buying has to fit around those. The dates below are calendar facts and our planning suggestion, not forecasts.
| By | Do this | What you spend | Why this date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Now to 25 December 2026 | Nothing for summer. Sell winter, Diwali and Christmas stock. | — | Your cash and bench time belong to the peak season (see Buy Winter Candle Fragrance Oils in India) |
| 5 January 2027 | Order the five-oil 50 g test set plus wax, jars and wicks | ₹4,783.13 | Leaves eight weeks to test before the launch order |
| 15 January 2027 | Pour 15 load-test candles (6%, 8%, 10% × five oils); start the cure | — | None of these pages states a cure time; allow at least 7 days |
| 25 January 2027 | Cold sniff at day 7–10; begin one-a-day burn tests in a warm room | — | Room conditions nearer summer give a fairer test |
| 20 February 2027 | Choose two hero oils and a load; pour and burn one retest candle each | — | After Valentine's Day stock has gone out |
| 1 March 2027 | Place the launch order (500 g of two heroes, 100 g of three supporting oils, 15 kg wax, 110 jars, 110 wicks) | ₹23,266.22 | Three to four weeks to pour, cure and photograph |
| 1 April 2027 | Summer range on sale | — | Start of the approximate summer window |
| 25 April – 15 May 2027 | Reorder only oils that have sold through; stop reordering by mid-May | depends on sales | The southwest monsoon arrives roughly in June; see Buy Monsoon-Inspired Candle Fragrance Oils |

The five oils in the summer basket
The basket is built to cover five summer jobs with one oil each, so a single test tells you which direction your customers prefer. It is not a ranking; our ranked best-of for summer, with the reasoning, is Best Fragrance Oils for Summer Candles in India. Each card shows every listed size with stock on 24 September 2026 and how many 150 g candles at 8% each size makes.

Three sample routes, priced
Three ways to buy the same five oils, differing in what they can prove. A 150 g candle at 8% uses 12 g of oil; testing three loads uses 36 g.
| Route | What you buy | Oil total | Oil | Average per gram | What it can prove |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A · Smell first | 15 g of each | ₹474.10 | 75 g | ₹6.32 | Cold sniff and one 8% candle per oil. No load comparison. |
| B · Three-load test (our pick) | 50 g of each | ₹1,154.93 | 250 g | ₹4.62 | 6%, 8% and 10% for every oil, plus a retest candle each |
| C · Early commitment | 100 g of each | ₹2,191.24 | 500 g | ₹4.38 | Eight candles per oil, most of them of oils you may drop |
Route B costs ₹680.83 more than Route A for 175 g more oil, which is ₹3.89 per extra gram. That buys the difference between "I like the smell" and "I know it works at 8%". Route C costs a further ₹1,036.31 for oil you do not yet need. Route A only makes sense if you are narrowing ten or more candidates down to five by smell alone.
The test basket, line by line
Fifteen load-test candles (three per oil) plus five retests make twenty. At 6%, 8% and 10% of a 150 g candle, the wax per candle is 141 g, 138 g and 135 g, which comes to about 2.76 kg for twenty.
| Item | Size bought | Price | Why this size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹170.00 | 36 g for three loads + a 12 g retest |
| Cucumber Green Tea | 50 g | ₹176.41 | as above |
| Juicy Orange | 50 g | ₹379.00 | as above |
| Honeydew Melon | 50 g | ₹217.12 | as above; no candle load stated, test inside 10% |
| Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹212.40 | as above |
| Oils subtotal | 250 g | ₹1,154.93 | |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | 3 × 1 kg | ₹1,522.20 | 2.76 kg needed; the 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg cost the same per gram |
| Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) | Pack of 20 | ₹1,888.00 | ₹94.40 per jar |
| Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) | 20 wicks | ₹118.00 | ₹5.90 per wick; a starting point, not a prescription |
| Candle Wick Stickers | 1 sheet, 40 | ₹100.00 | 20 spare for the launch |
| Basket total | 20 candles | ₹4,783.13 | ₹239.16 per test candle |
The non-oil items come to ₹3,628.20; oil is only 24% of the test basket. Two choices to make here. First, the wax: CSI 464's stated ceiling is 10%, which is also the top of every stated load in this basket, so the 13% ceiling of Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (1 kg ₹650.00) or Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (1 kg ₹599.00) buys no extra headroom for these oils. Second, the wick: C1 is where to start. If the melt pool has not reached the glass edge after two to three hours, retest with Thick (C2), ₹94.40 for 10, from the Candle Wicks collection.
The launch basket: 106 candles, priced
Assume your test picks Citrus Lemon and Cucumber Green Tea as heroes and keeps the other three as supporting scents. 500 g of oil at 8% makes 41 candles of 150 g; 100 g makes 8. That gives 41 + 41 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 106 candles. Wax: 106 × 138 g is 14.63 kg, so 10 kg + 5 kg of CSI 464.
| Item | Size | Price | Candles it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil | 500 g | ₹1,420.00 | 41 |
| Cucumber Green Tea | 500 g | ₹1,663.80 | 41 |
| Juicy Orange | 100 g | ₹749.00 | 8 |
| Honeydew Melon | 100 g | ₹435.42 | 8 |
| Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil | 100 g | ₹354.00 | 8 |
| Oils | 1.3 kg | ₹4,622.22 | 106 |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | 10 kg + 5 kg | ₹7,611.00 | 15 kg for 14.63 kg needed |
| Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) | 5 × pack of 20 + 1 × pack of 10 | ₹10,384.00 | 110 jars (4 spare) |
| Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) | pack of 100 + pack of 10 | ₹649.00 | 110 wicks |
| Launch total | ₹23,266.22 | ₹219.49 per candle |
Look at where the money goes: the jars are 45% of the basket and the oils 20%. For a single candle, worked example Cucumber Green Tea at 8%: 12 g of oil at the 500 g price (₹39.93) + 138 g of CSI 464 at the 10 kg price (₹70.02) + one jar from a pack of 20 (₹94.40) + one C1 wick from the pack of 100 (₹5.90) = ₹210.25. That excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST. If you want to cut the cost of a summer candle, the vessel is the lever, not a bigger bottle of oil. How to price the finished candle is outside this page; the three-season collection kits are in Seasonal Fragrance Oil Collection for Candle Businesses.
Which size of each oil to reorder
Reorders are where size matters, and the five oils behave differently. Per-gram prices on 24 September 2026; every size in stock.
| Oil | 15 g | 50 g | 100 g | 500 g | 1 kg | Reorder size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon | ₹5.43 | ₹3.40 | ₹3.00 | ₹2.84 | ₹2.83 | 500 g (16.5% below 50 g); 1 kg saves almost nothing more |
| Cucumber Green Tea | ₹6.21 | ₹3.53 | ₹3.53 | ₹3.33 | ₹3.33 | 500 g (5.7% below 50 g); 1 kg the same per gram |
| Juicy Orange | ₹8.40 | ₹7.58 | ₹7.49 | ₹7.50 | ₹7.50 | 100 g to 500 g; 500 g only 1.1% below 50 g |
| Honeydew Melon | ₹7.00 | ₹4.34 | ₹4.35 | ₹3.40 | ₹3.40 | 500 g once proven; skip the 100 g |
| Eucalyptus Spearmint | ₹4.56 | ₹4.25 | ₹3.54 | ₹3.30 | ₹3.07 | 1 kg if it sells (27.8% below 50 g) |
Three patterns. On Citrus Lemon and Cucumber Green Tea the saving stops at 500 g. On Juicy Orange there is almost no saving at any size above 50 g: the 15 g is 11% dearer per gram than the 50 g, and after that the price is close to flat. Eucalyptus Spearmint is the one oil in this basket where the 1 kg is clearly the cheapest per gram. Wholesale ladders for every seasonal oil are in Wholesale Seasonal Candle Fragrance Oils in India.
How to place the order
Six steps from basket to dispatch. Most of them take a minute; skipping them is what causes a missed launch.
Monsoon follows summer: the monsoon buying guide is Buy Monsoon-Inspired Candle Fragrance Oils, and which oils can carry from summer into monsoon is in Which Fragrance Oils Should a Candle Brand Stock for Summer, Monsoon and Winter?.
CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells every oil, wax, jar and wick in these baskets, and does not sell finished candles. This page tells you to buy 50 g rather than 100 g, to skip the 1 kg for a first summer, and that the jar, not the oil, is the biggest cost in your candle.
Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. All five basket oils were in stock at every size on that date; out-of-stock items elsewhere on the site are not offered here. Candle loads and notes are quoted from each product page; Honeydew Melon's page does not state a candle load, and we say so.

Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are floor(grams ÷ 12). Wax ceilings (CSI 464 up to 10%, CSI 468 and Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13%) are as stated on the wax pages and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Basket and per-candle costs are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Dates (Diwali 8 November 2026, Christmas 25 December 2026, Valentine's Day 14 February 2027) are calendar facts; summer (roughly April–June) and the southwest monsoon (roughly June–September) are approximate. The order calendar, the launch split and the reorder rule are editorial judgement.
