"So I live in a very cold region and it was becoming very difficult for me to maintain the temperature. My temperature would drop within seconds due to which I was not getting a good hot throw. Moreover, it would take me ages to melt the wax. But this mini melter is my saviour. It took me seconds to melt my wax and the wax stays warm for a longer time in the melter so I was finally able to get the desired hot throw. It is totally worth the money and so hassle-free."

CSI Seasonal Buying · Winter
Winter candle buying in India runs in two waves: Diwali on 8 November, then Christmas and the cold months. Here is the five-oil basket, the right size of each, and the dates to order by.
₹1,346.38
five winter oils × 50 g — the test set to order by 30 September · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
When should I order winter candle fragrance oils in India? In two waves, not one. The first order goes in now, in late September, because Diwali falls on 8 November 2026 and a test-then-produce cycle needs about five weeks. The second goes in by about 20 November for Christmas (25 December 2026) and the cold months, roughly December to February. A single big order in September either arrives too early for Christmas or too late to test.

What goes in a winter test basket? Five oils at 50 g each — Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Vanilla, Fallen Leaves and Woody Oud — for ₹1,346.38. All five are in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026 and every page states a candle load.

What does the whole first order cost? ₹4,874.58 with 3 kg of wax, 20 jars and 20 wicks: enough for 20 test candles, ₹243.73 per candle, before freight and GST.

Should I buy 1 kg for Diwali straight away? No. On three of these five oils the 1 kg is no cheaper per gram than a smaller size (Apple Cinnamon is flat from 50 g, Woody Oud from 100 g, Fallen Leaves from 500 g). Buy 500 g of the winners after the test.
The short answer
The basket: five winter oils covering fruit-spice, bakery spice, sweet spice, leafy spice and warm wood; 50 g each, ₹1,346.38.
The timing: test order by 30 September, Diwali production order by about 17 October, Christmas and winter order by about 20 November, sell-through review in the first week of January.
The sizes: 500 g for most winners; 1 kg only where it is actually cheaper per gram (Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Vanilla) and only for a proven seller.
The budget: test ₹4,874.58; Diwali wave ₹19,812.20 for 82 candles; Christmas wave ₹38,456.20 for 165 candles (worked examples, materials only).

Winter candle buying runs on three order points. Straight answer
I sell candles in India and want a winter range. What fragrance oils do I order, how much, and by when?
This week, order 50 g each of Apple Cinnamon (₹237.18), Pumpkin Spice (₹330.40), Cinnamon Vanilla (₹271.40), Fallen Leaves (₹236.00) and Woody Oud (₹271.40): ₹1,346.38 for 250 g of oil, enough to pour each at 6%, 8% and 10% with a retest candle left over. Burn-test through the first half of October. By about 17 October, order 500 g of your two best performers for Diwali (8 November 2026); in our worked example that is Apple Cinnamon and Woody Oud, ₹4,637.40 for 82 candles' worth of oil. By about 20 November, order the Christmas and winter wave — the oils that read "cold weather" rather than "festival" — in 500 g or, only for Pumpkin Spice and Cinnamon Vanilla where it genuinely saves, 1 kg. In the first week of January, check what sold before reordering anything for February. The ranking of every winter oil CSI lists is in Best Fragrance Oils for Winter Candles in India; this page is the order sheet.
One line: test five in September, make two for Diwali, make three for Christmas, and let January decide February.
Start with the oil that costs the same per gram at every size. Apple Cinnamon is ₹4.74 per gram at 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg alike, so the 50 g test bottle (₹237.18) is not a premium sample price. Its page states 6–10% for soy wax and a 48–72 hour cure.

Why winter buying is two waves, not one

Diwali is not winter. It sells the same candles for a different reason.

On the calendar, Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, Christmas on 25 December 2026, and Indian winter runs roughly from December to February, colder in the North and milder in the South. That means the festival that anchors one of the year's main gifting weeks arrives before most of the country feels any cold at all. A Diwali candle is bought as a gift, a return favour or a decoration for a lit-up home. A December or January candle is more often bought to make a room feel warm on a cold evening. The oils overlap, but the reasons differ, and the quantities should too.

Buying everything in one September order forces two bad choices. Either you guess which oils will sell in January before you have burned a single test candle, or you order so little that you run dry the week before Christmas and pay for a rushed second order anyway. Splitting the season into waves lets each order use what the previous one taught you.

Wave 1: test, then the Diwali pour

Wave 1 is two orders about two and a half weeks apart. The first is the five-oil 50 g test set, by 30 September. The second, by about 17 October, is 500 g of whichever two oils won the burn test, poured in the third week of October and shipped by the start of November. For Diwali we lean towards oils that read as warm and generous without being sugary: fruit-and-spice and polished woods sit comfortably beside diyas and sweets, and they suit corporate gifting where you do not know the recipient's taste.

Wave 2: Christmas and the cold months

Wave 2 is ordered by about 20 November, when you know how Diwali sold. It carries the oils that make the most sense once evenings turn cold: the bakery spices, the vanilla-cinnamon gourmands and the leafy, amber-based "autumn walk" scents. It is usually the larger order, because it has to cover Christmas gifting, New Year and, in our judgement, the cold-weather demand that can follow into January and February, especially where winters are colder, as in the North.

Wave 3: the January review

Wave 3 is a decision, not an order. In the first week of January, count what is left. An oil that sold out in December earns a reorder for the rest of winter; an oil with half its stock left does not, however much you like it. By February you should be selling through, not buying in; spring and summer oils are a separate plan, covered in Buy Summer Candle Fragrance Oils in India.

Argued against our own interest: the easiest order for us to fulfil is one large September basket of 1 kg bottles. It is also the order most likely to leave you holding a kilogram of a scent your customers did not want. Two or three smaller orders cost you a little more in freight; one wrong kilogram costs you the whole kilogram.

The five oils in the winter basket

Five oils, five different jobs. The basket is built so no two do the same thing.

This is a buying basket, not a league table. Each oil is here because it fills a distinct role in a winter range, is in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026, and has a stated candle load on its page. We have no throw measurements and will not invent any; if you want the ranked view of every winter oil, including those we did not put in the basket, read Best Fragrance Oils for Winter Candles in India. Candle counts below assume a 150 g candle at 8% (12 g of oil).

1
fruit-spice · Diwali and winter · the crowd-pleaser
Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil
A broadly familiar shape in winter candles: fruit first, spice second, a warm base under both. The page describes "crisp juicy apple and spicy cinnamon opening into baked goods and nutmeg, settling into vanilla and warm amber" and states "6-10% for soy wax candles, cure 48-72 hours. 6-8% for paraffin wax". It works for Diwali gifting and for December alike, which is why it anchors Wave 1. One verified buyer wrote that her customer's home smelled of "warmth" and she took new orders from visitors. Limitation: it is familiar, so it will not make a range feel distinctive on its own; pair it with something less expected.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹237.18 ₹4.74 4
100 g ₹474.36 ₹4.74 8
500 g ₹2,371.80 ₹4.74 41
1 kg ₹4,743.60 ₹4.74 83
Flat ₹4.74/g from 50 g to 1 kg: oil per 8% candle is ₹56.92 at any size above 15 g. Buy Apple Cinnamon
2
bakery spice · Christmas wave · the seasonal signal
Pumpkin Spice
The scent that tells a customer "this is the winter range" before they read the label. The page lists "Top Notes: Fresh Pumpkin, Ginger, Cinnamon Bark Middle Notes: Nutmeg, Clove, Allspice Base Notes: Vanilla Bean, Caramelized Sugar, Cedarwood" and states "Recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles". A verified buyer named it alongside Gilli Mitti as "amazing and authentic". It belongs in Wave 2 rather than Diwali: pumpkin is a cold-weather association for many Indian urban buyers rather than a festival one. Limitation: the ladder is uneven — the 100 g and 500 g are the same ₹5.90 per gram, so the 500 g brings no saving over five 100 g bottles, while the 1 kg drops to ₹5.31.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 g ₹330.40 ₹6.61 4
100 g ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 g ₹2,950.00 ₹5.90 41
1 kg ₹5,310.00 ₹5.31 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹79.30 at 50 g, ₹70.80 at 500 g, ₹63.72 at 1 kg. Buy Pumpkin Spice
3
sweet spice gourmand · Christmas wave · the highest stated load
Cinnamon Vanilla
Vanilla and cinnamon is the gentle end of winter: sweet, creamy, less sharp than clove-led spice. The page lists "cinnamon and clove top notes, vanilla bean and sugar middle notes, and cream and butter base", describes it as "IFRA-certified" and "Phthalate-free" (the page's wording; ask for documents on WhatsApp), and states "Up to 13% load for candles" — the highest stated load in this basket. The two-ceilings rule applies: in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, whose stated maximum is 10%, you stop at 10%; only in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks or Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (both up to 13%) can you test above that. Limitation: the higher ceiling is not a reason to use it. At the 500 g price, going from 8% to 12% adds ₹27.61 of oil to every candle.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 g ₹271.40 ₹5.43 4
100 g ₹483.80 ₹4.84 8
500 g ₹2,301.00 ₹4.60 41
1 kg ₹4,554.80 ₹4.55 83
Gradual ladder: ₹5.43/g at 50 g down to ₹4.55/g at 1 kg, 16.1% cheaper. Buy Cinnamon Vanilla
4
leafy fruit-spice · Christmas wave · the quieter winter
Fallen Leaves
An "autumn walk" scent rather than a bakery one, which makes it a good contrast to Pumpkin Spice in the same wave. The page lists "Top Notes: Crisp Apple, Bergamot, Spicy Cinnamon Middle Notes: Dried Leaves, Rose, Jasmine Base Notes: Amber, Musk, Vanilla" and states "Recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles". The rose and jasmine in the heart soften it, so it suits buyers who find cinnamon-heavy candles too loud. Limitation: it shares apple and cinnamon with Apple Cinnamon; if both sit in the same range, make sure your burn test tells them apart, or drop one.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹94.40 ₹6.29 1
50 g ₹236.00 ₹4.72 4
100 g ₹472.00 ₹4.72 8
500 g ₹2,124.00 ₹4.25 41
1 kg ₹4,248.00 ₹4.25 83
The 500 g is ₹4.25/g, 10.0% below the 100 g: this is the oil where 500 g earns its keep. Buy Fallen Leaves
5
woody oud · Diwali and winter · the non-sweet option
Woody Oud Fragrance Oil
Every winter range needs one candle that is not a dessert. The page describes "citrus and spice top notes opening into rich oud and patchouli heart, settling into warm woody notes, amber, and musk" and states "candles (6-10%)". It carries Diwali well — oud and amber sit naturally in festive gifting — and it is the one to offer customers who say "nothing sweet". A verified review calls it a "warm, long-lasting scent" with "strong performance in candles". Limitation: oud and patchouli divide people. Test it on someone who does not already like oud.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹271.40 ₹5.43 4
100 g ₹453.12 ₹4.53 8
500 g ₹2,265.60 ₹4.53 41
1 kg ₹4,531.20 ₹4.53 83
₹4.53/g from 100 g upward: the 100 g already carries the bulk price. Buy Woody Oud
Only testing three? Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice and Woody Oud: ₹838.98 for 150 g, covering fruit-spice, bakery spice and wood. Only two? Apple Cinnamon and Woody Oud, ₹508.58 — one sweet, one not.

Which size of each oil, wave by wave

The right size depends on which wave you are buying for and where each oil's price actually steps down. Here is every listed size of the five, priced on 24 September 2026, all in stock. We have only included what you need for the winter order; the per-gram ladder across every seasonal oil CSI lists lives in Wholesale Seasonal Candle Fragrance Oils in India.

Per gram, every size, CSI live pricing 24 September 2026
Where the price actually steps down on the five winter basket oils
Oil 15 g 50 g 100 g 500 g 1 kg Where it steps
Apple Cinnamon ₹6.21 ₹4.74 ₹4.74 ₹4.74 ₹4.74 Only at 50 g; flat after
Pumpkin Spice ₹7.08 ₹6.61 ₹5.90 ₹5.90 ₹5.31 At 100 g, then again at 1 kg
Cinnamon Vanilla ₹7.08 ₹5.43 ₹4.84 ₹4.60 ₹4.55 Gradually, every size
Fallen Leaves ₹6.29 ₹4.72 ₹4.72 ₹4.25 ₹4.25 At 500 g; 1 kg adds nothing
Woody Oud ₹6.21 ₹5.43 ₹4.53 ₹4.53 ₹4.53 At 100 g; flat after

For the test order: 50 g, never 15 g

A 15 g bottle holds enough for one 150 g candle at 8%. It tells you whether you like the smell, not what load it needs. The five oils at 15 g cost ₹493.24 (₹6.58 per gram); at 50 g they cost ₹1,346.38 (₹5.39 per gram). The extra ₹853.14 buys 175 g more oil and a proper three-load test. On Apple Cinnamon the 15 g is 31% dearer per gram than the 50 g; on Pumpkin Spice the gap is smaller, 7.1%, but still a premium for less information.

For the Diwali wave: 500 g of two, or 100 g where the ladder is already flat

Woody Oud reaches its lowest price per gram at 100 g: ₹4.53, 16.5% below the 50 g. In an 8% candle that is ₹54.37 of oil against ₹65.14, a saving of ₹10.76 per candle, and nothing further at 500 g or 1 kg. So if you are unsure how much Woody Oud will sell, buy 100 g bottles as you need them and lose nothing on price. Apple Cinnamon is the same story from 50 g upward. For both, 500 g is a convenience size — fewer bottles, fewer orders — not a discount.

We sell the 1 kg of both. For Diwali, don't buy it unless you have already sold that oil at volume. Neither 1 kg is cheaper per gram than its 500 g, and 500 g already makes 41 candles at 8%.

For the Christmas wave: where 1 kg is genuinely cheaper

Two of the five get cheaper at 1 kg. Pumpkin Spice drops from ₹5.90 at 500 g to ₹5.31 at 1 kg, 10.0% less per gram; two 500 g packs would cost ₹5,900.00 against ₹5,310.00 for the 1 kg, so the kilogram saves ₹590.00. Per candle the kilogram is ₹7.08 cheaper, which is real money at 83 candles. Cinnamon Vanilla falls gently at every step, ₹4.60 at 500 g and ₹4.55 at 1 kg; the last step is so small that 500 g is the sensible buy unless it is already your best seller. Fallen Leaves is the reverse case: the saving is all at 500 g (₹4.25), and the 1 kg is the same per gram.

Rule of thumb for this basket
Buy each oil at the smallest size that already carries its lowest price per gram, unless you will use a larger size before the season ends. For these five: Apple Cinnamon 50 g, Woody Oud 100 g, Fallen Leaves 500 g, Cinnamon Vanilla 500 g (its 1 kg is only about 5 paise per gram cheaper, so we treat 500 g as its practical floor), Pumpkin Spice 1 kg (for a proven seller only).

Three baskets with exact totals

Three orders, three different questions. Each basket is sized to answer one.

The figures below are worked examples built from CSI's live prices on 24 September 2026. They assume 150 g candles at 8% load (12 g oil, 138 g wax) in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) and Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1). Change any of those and the totals change. None of the totals include labour, freight, packaging or GST.

Basket 1 — the test (order by 30 September)

Cinnamon Vanilla 50 g ₹271.40 as above
Fallen Leaves 50 g ₹236.00 as above
Woody Oud Fragrance Oil 50 g ₹271.40 as above

Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) 20 wicks ₹118.00 ₹5.90 per wick
Total 20 candles ₹4,874.58 ₹243.73 per candle

Basket 2 — the Diwali wave (order by about 17 October)

Worked example: Apple Cinnamon and Woody Oud won the test. 500 g of each makes 41 candles at 8%, so 82 candles in all, needing about 11.3 kg of wax.

Diwali production basket · worked example
82 candles for Diwali 8 November 2026: ₹19,812.20
Item Quantity Price
Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil 500 g (41 candles) ₹2,371.80
Woody Oud Fragrance Oil 500 g (41 candles) ₹2,265.60
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10 kg + 2 × 1 kg ₹6,088.80
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) 4 packs of 20 + 1 pack of 10 (90 jars) ₹8,496.00
Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) 100 wicks ₹590.00
Total 82 candles, 8 spare jars ₹19,812.20

That is ₹241.61 per candle across the basket. Per candle at the unit prices: Apple Cinnamon ₹56.92 of oil + ₹70.02 of wax + ₹94.40 for the jar + ₹5.90 for the wick = ₹227.24; Woody Oud, ₹224.70. Both exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Notice that the jar costs more than the oil. If you need to take cost out of a Diwali candle, look at the vessel before you downsize the oil bottle.

Basket 3 — the Christmas and winter wave (order by about 20 November)

Worked example: Cinnamon Vanilla and Fallen Leaves at 500 g (41 candles each) and Pumpkin Spice at 1 kg (83 candles), 165 candles in all, about 22.8 kg of wax.

Christmas and winter production basket · worked example
165 candles for 25 December and the cold months: ₹38,456.20
Item Quantity Price
Cinnamon Vanilla 500 g (41 candles) ₹2,301.00
Fallen Leaves 500 g (41 candles) ₹2,124.00
Pumpkin Spice 1 kg (83 candles) ₹5,310.00
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 2 × 10 kg + 3 × 1 kg ₹11,670.20
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) 8 packs of 20 + 1 pack of 10 (170 jars) ₹16,048.00
Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) packs of 100 + 50 + 20 (170 wicks) ₹1,003.00
Total 165 candles, 5 spare jars and 5 spare wicks ₹38,456.20

That is ₹233.07 per candle across the basket, spare jars included. Oils alone for this wave come to ₹9,735.00; buying Pumpkin Spice as two 500 g packs instead would make it ₹10,325.00. A Pumpkin Spice candle at the 1 kg price works out at ₹234.04 in materials, before labour, freight, packaging and GST. The whole winter's oil — test set plus both waves — comes to ₹15,718.78 in this example.

Mistake: sizing Wave 2 from how much you liked an oil in the test. Fix: size it from what Wave 1 sold. If Woody Oud sold out before Diwali and Apple Cinnamon did not, put Woody Oud into Wave 2 at 500 g and cut Apple Cinnamon to 100 g top-ups. The baskets above are a starting shape, not a prescription. The detailed batch maths for 250 to 1,000 candles a season, and how to stagger the cash, are in Bulk Seasonal Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers.

Order dates, worked back from 8 November and 25 December

Each date below works backwards from a fixed festival through your pour, cure and dispatch. Delivery time from CSI depends on where you are, so confirm the dispatch date on WhatsApp before you commit to a customer. The walkthrough assumes you pour and ship yourself; if you sell through a shop or a corporate buyer, move everything a week earlier.

1
By 30 September: order the test basketFive oils at 50 g, 3 kg of wax, 20 jars and 20 wicks (₹4,874.58). Ask on WhatsApp for dispatch time and, if you sell to businesses, request MSDS and IFRA documentation now so it arrives with the oils.
2
First week of October: pour fifteen candlesEach oil at 6%, 8% and 10% of total weight (9 g, 12 g and 15 g of oil in a 150 g candle). Label oil, load and date on every jar before you fill it. Keep melt and pour temperatures identical across all fifteen.
3
Cure, then burn one at a timeApple Cinnamon's page states a 48–72 hour cure; the other four pages do not state one. As a judgement call, cure all fifteen for at least 72 hours and compare at day 3 and day 7. Burn each for two to three hours in the same room and note what you smell from the doorway.
4
By about 17 October: order the Diwali wave500 g of your two best performers at the lowest load that passed. In the worked example that is ₹4,637.40 of oil. Order the wax and jars for 82 candles at the same time; the jars are the larger bill.
5
Around 20–25 October: pour for DiwaliA week of cure takes you to the start of November, leaving about a week to label, pack and deliver before 8 November. If a corporate order arrives late, Apple Cinnamon's stated 48–72 hour cure gives you a little room; do not ship candles you have not burned from the same batch.
6
By about 20 November: order the Christmas and winter waveSize it from Diwali sales, not from the test. Pour in the last week of November and first week of December; ship by mid-December for Christmas (25 December 2026) and hold the rest for New Year and January.

First week of January: review before you reorderAny oil that sold out in December earns one more 500 g for January and February. Anything with more than half its candles left does not. Winter ends, on the calendar, at the end of February; your last winter order should be well before that.

If you are starting late
If it is already mid-October, skip the full five-oil test for Diwali. Buy 100 g of Apple Cinnamon (₹474.36) and 100 g of Woody Oud (₹453.12) — both already at their lowest price per gram — test at 8% only, and use the full test for the Christmas wave instead.

Pouring in a cold room: two practical notes

This is an order sheet, not a wax guide, but two winter-specific points affect what you buy. First, the two-ceilings rule. The lower of the wax's stated maximum and the oil page's stated maximum governs. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states up to 10% (melt and pour 80–90°C, per its page); Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 state up to 13% (CSI 468 pour 58–60°C, per its page). Every oil in this basket states a maximum of 10% except Cinnamon Vanilla, which states 13%. So only Cinnamon Vanilla, and only in Chunks or CSI 468, can be tested above 10%. These ceilings are formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and the maximum load is rarely the best-performing one; test 6%, 8% and 10% first.

Second, cold rooms change your process, not your oil. In a North Indian winter, a jug of melted wax can cool quickly between the melter and the jar, and one buyer of CSI's mini melter described exactly that problem in a "very cold region". Keep your pour temperature steady, warm the jars slightly before pouring, and pour in a room that is not near an open window. Wax choice by price: CSI 464 at ₹0.51 per gram at 10 kg, Chunks at ₹0.60, CSI 468 at ₹0.64. The detailed behaviour of winter scents in different waxes belongs to Best Fragrance Oils for Winter Candles in India.

Mistake: raising the load to "make up for" a cold room. Fix: a cold room is not why a winter candle smells weak; wick, melt pool and cure usually are. Run a melt-pool test before you touch the load. The C1 wick is a starting point; if the melt pool has not reached the edge of the jar after two to three hours, retest with Thick (C2) or a Cotton Braided wick from the Candle Wicks collection. We cannot give you a definitive wick size without the inside diameter of your jar.

What we left out, and what is out of stock

A basket is also a list of things you did not buy. Here is ours, with reasons.
Not in the basket · stock checked 24 September 2026
Winter oils worth knowing about, and why they are not in the first order
Oil Why not in the basket Stock and price fact
Spiced Rum Would suit Christmas, but cannot be ordered. Out of stock at every size on 24 September 2026.
Chocolate Fudge Fragrance Oil A strong gourmand for a dessert-led range; overlaps with Cinnamon Vanilla's sweetness. The 100 g is out of stock on 24 September 2026; 15 g, 50 g (₹198.24), 500 g and 1 kg are in stock. Flat ₹3.96/g from 50 g.
Dark Vanilla Fragrance and Vanilla Bean Fragrance Oil Good vanillas, but the dearest winter gourmands here. Identical prices: ₹8.20/g at 50 g, ₹7.65/g at 1 kg, well above Cinnamon Vanilla's ₹5.43 at 50 g.
Cinnamon Fragrance Oil Straight cinnamon; covered by the spice in three basket oils. Priced exactly as Pumpkin Spice at every size (₹6.61/g at 50 g, ₹5.31/g at 1 kg).
Autumn A good alternative to Fallen Leaves; its page states "7-11% for candles", so with CSI 464 the 10% wax ceiling governs. Flat ₹5.43/g at every size from 50 g. One verified 3-star review calls it a "warm comforting fragrance".
Saffron Cedarwood A winter wood with saffron and smoke; page states no candle load. Its 1 kg (₹6.87/g) is dearer per gram than its 500 g (₹5.17/g); two 500 g packs cost ₹5,168.40 against ₹6,867.60. Ask on WhatsApp before ordering 1 kg.
Mahogany Teakwood Bath and Body Works Inspired Fragrance Oil A woody-aromatic winter option. That is CSI's product listing name; the oil is CSI's interpretation, CSI is not affiliated with the brand, and the brand name should never appear on your label. Flat ₹8.80/g from 50 g to 1 kg; page states "Extremely strong hot throw in soy wax at 7-9%". No 15 g.
Frankincense and Tonka Would suit a resinous winter candle. Out of stock on 24 September 2026.

If a café-style winter candle is your focus — coffee, chocolate, bakery — the gourmand buying route is covered in Buy Café-Inspired Fragrance Oils for Candle Making. If you want to know whether Spiced Rum or the Chocolate Fudge 100 g will return before Christmas, ask us on WhatsApp; we will not promise a date we do not have.

Argued against our own interest: you do not need seven winter oils. In our experience, many small brands sell a winter range of three to five. Every extra oil is another 50 g test, another 500 g order and another candle that may not sell. Start with the basket; add a sixth only when a customer asks for something the five cannot give.
Diwali 8 November 2026 is 45 days away. Order the five-oil test set by 30 September (₹1,346.38), decide by mid-October, then take 500 g of your two winners. Ask us on WhatsApp for a quote with GST invoice and a dispatch date to your city.

The CSI principle
Let each order be sized by the one before it.
The test sizes the Diwali wave. Diwali sizes the Christmas wave. Christmas decides whether anything is reordered for February. A winter plan that skips a step is a guess with a bigger invoice.
"September buys information, October buys Diwali, November buys winter. Keep them in that order."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, wax, jars and wicks named here, and does not sell finished candles. This page tells you to buy 50 g before 500 g, to skip the 1 kg on three of the five oils, and to keep your winter range small, all of which means smaller orders for us.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. Out-of-stock products and sizes are flagged as out of stock on that date and are never presented as buyable. Candle loads, notes and IFRA wording are quoted from each product page.

The wave structure, order-by dates, basket sizes and the choice of five oils are our judgement, and the production baskets are worked examples. Festival dates are calendar facts. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

When should I buy fragrance oils for Diwali candles in 2026?
Order your test oils by the end of September and your production oils by about 17 October. Diwali falls on 8 November 2026; a test, cure, production pour and delivery cycle needs roughly five weeks. Confirm CSI's dispatch time to your city on WhatsApp before committing to customer dates.
Which fragrance oils to buy for winter candles in India?
A balanced winter basket at CSI is Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Vanilla, Fallen Leaves and Woody Oud: fruit-spice, bakery spice, sweet spice, leafy spice and a non-sweet wood. At 50 g each the five cost ₹1,346.38. For a ranked view of all winter oils, read the winter best-of guide.
Is 1 kg fragrance oil cheaper than 500 g?
Only for some oils. Of the five winter basket oils, Pumpkin Spice (₹5.90 to ₹5.31 per gram) and Cinnamon Vanilla (₹4.60 to ₹4.55) get cheaper at 1 kg. Apple Cinnamon, Fallen Leaves and Woody Oud cost the same per gram at 500 g and 1 kg.
How many candles does 500 g of fragrance oil make?
41 candles of 150 g at 8% load (12 g of oil each). A 1 kg bottle makes 83; a 100 g bottle makes 8; a 50 g bottle makes 4.
Can I use cinnamon vanilla fragrance oil at 13% in soy wax?
Only in a wax whose own stated maximum allows it. Cinnamon Vanilla's page states up to 13% for candles; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 state up to 13%, but Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states up to 10%, and the lower figure governs. Maximum is not optimum: test 6%, 8% and 10% first.
What does a winter candle cost to make in India?
Worked example: a 150 g Apple Cinnamon candle at 8% in CSI 464 soy wax, a 150 g clear glass jar with golden lid and a C1 wick costs ₹227.24 in materials at the 500 g oil price. That excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST.

Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are floor(grams ÷ 12). Wax ceilings as stated by the wax pages (CSI 464 up to 10%; Chunks and CSI 468 up to 13%) are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Production baskets are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Diwali, Christmas and New Year are calendar dates; Indian winter (roughly December to February) is approximate. Order-by dates are planning suggestions, not delivery promises.
