CSI Seasonal Buying · Monsoon Order
Monsoon candles have to be cured before the rain, so the order goes in by mid-May. Here is the five-oil monsoon basket, the size rule for each oil, and a priced launch order for 139 candles.
₹1,621.90
five monsoon oils × 50 g — the test set · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
When should I buy fragrance oils for monsoon candles? The southwest monsoon runs roughly June to September. Test in March or April 2027 and place your launch order by 15 May 2027, so candles are poured and given a longer, humid-weather cure before the rains arrive.

What goes in a monsoon basket? Five oils, one per monsoon job: Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) (wet earth), Verbena Fragrance Oil (the rain-fresh air), Citronella Fragrance Oil (the green garden), Roasted Coffee Fragrance (the rainy-day hot drink) and Jasmine Fragrance Oil (the monsoon flower). All five are in stock at every size on 24 September 2026.

What does it cost? The five at 50 g cost ₹1,621.90. With 5 kg of wax, 20 jars, 20 wicks and wick stickers, the test basket is ₹6,264.90. A worked-example launch basket for 139 candles is ₹33,114.00, or ₹238.23 per candle in materials.

The one size decision that matters: Citronella's 500 g (₹1,475.00) is only 3.85 times the price of its 50 g (₹383.50) for ten times the oil. If Citronella is going in your line, its 500 g is cheaper per candle than any size of the other four oils (only its own 1 kg is cheaper still).
The short answer
The timing: test with your summer range, order launch sizes by 15 May 2027, pour in late May, sell June to September. Stop reordering by mid-August.
The sample route: 50 g of each (₹1,621.90), not 15 g (₹584.02). Three test loads use 36 g of oil per scent.
The launch sizes: 500 g of three heroes, 100 g of two supporting oils. Never 1 kg of Gilli Mitti: it is priced flat from 50 g to 1 kg.
The claims rule: Citronella is sold as a scent. No insect claims, on this page or on your label.
Monsoon basket: what a gram costs at each size Rupees per gram at 50 g, 500 g and 1 kg, CSI live pricing, verified 24 September 2026 50 g 500 g 1 kg 0 2 4 6 8 Gilli Mitti ₹8.96 ₹8.96 ₹8.96 Verbena ₹6.61 ₹4.96 ₹4.72 Citronella ₹7.67 ₹2.95 ₹2.89 Roasted Coffee ₹4.60 ₹3.78 ₹3.74 Jasmine ₹4.60 ₹3.92 ₹3.92 rupees per gram Gilli Mitti is flat from 50 g to 1 kg. Citronella's 500 g costs less per gram than any size of the other four. Bars show per-gram price only; they say nothing about scent strength.
The five monsoon basket oils on one per-gram scale. The size you buy changes the per-gram cost very differently from oil to oil: not at all for Gilli Mitti, sharply for Citronella at 500 g, and moderately for the other three. This is why the launch basket below buys different sizes of different oils.
Straight answer
I want monsoon candles on sale in June 2027. What do I order, how much, and by when?
In January or February 2027, with your summer test set, buy 50 g each of Gilli Mitti (₹448.00), Verbena (₹330.40), Citronella (₹383.50), Roasted Coffee (₹230.00) and Jasmine (₹230.00): ₹1,621.90. Pour each at 6%, 8% and 10%, cure for at least 7 days and compare at day 14. By 15 May 2027, order launch sizes: 500 g of your three best (in our worked example Gilli Mitti, Citronella and Roasted Coffee) and 100 g of the other two, plus wax, jars and wicks: ₹33,114.00 for 139 candles. Do not buy 1 kg of Gilli Mitti; it costs exactly the same per gram as the 50 g. Which oils rank best for the monsoon, and why, is covered in Best Fragrance Oils for Monsoon Candles in India; this page is about the order.
One line: monsoon stock has to be poured before the rain, so the order date is mid-May, not the first wet day.
The five-oil monsoon test set. Gilli Mitti, Verbena, Citronella, Roasted Coffee and Jasmine at 50 g: ₹1,621.90, all in stock at every size on 24 September 2026. Order it with your summer test set and pay one freight.

The monsoon order window: order by May

By the time it rains, a monsoon candle should already be cured.

We are writing on 24 September 2026, at the tail of this year's monsoon; the season runs roughly June to September. If you are reading this now, do not buy for this monsoon: stock poured in October will sell into Diwali (8 November 2026) and winter, not into rain. Plan for June 2027. The dates below are calendar facts and our planning suggestion, not weather forecasts; the monsoon's arrival varies by region and by year, reaching the south-west coast before the north.

Monsoon 2027 · dated order plan
Working back from the first rains in June
By Do this Spend Why
January–February 2027 Order the monsoon 50 g test set together with your summer test set (see Buy Summer Candle Fragrance Oils in India) ₹1,621.90 One order, one freight; the summer launch order is due 1 March
March 2027 Pour 15 load-test candles (three per oil); cure lidded in a closed box — No page here states a cure time; allow at least 7 days, judge at day 14
1 April 2027 Burn tests; choose three heroes and a load for each — Your summer range is on sale; the bench is free
15 May 2027 Place the launch order: three 500 g, two 100 g, wax, jars, wicks ₹33,114.00 Allows about two weeks to pour and cure before June
Late May 2027 Production pour; cure 7–14 days, lidded — Longer cure in humid weather is our judgement, not a page figure
June–September 2027 On sale; reorder any hero that sells half its launch candles within four weeks depends on sales Approximate monsoon window
Mid-August 2027 Stop reordering monsoon oils; switch the bench to Diwali and winter — Winter buying is covered in Buy Winter Candle Fragrance Oils in India

One country, several monsoon start dates

The rains do not arrive everywhere at once. In a typical year the monsoon reaches the Kerala coast first, around the start of June, and spreads north over the following weeks, reaching north-west India last; it also withdraws from the north first. These are approximate calendar patterns, not a forecast for 2027. For a seller the consequence is simple: if you ship across India, your "first rain" window is not one date. A candle shop in Kochi or Mangaluru wants monsoon stock in late May; a buyer in Delhi or Jaipur may not want it until July. If you sell mainly in the south and west, pull the launch order forward to 1 May 2027; if you sell mainly in the north, 15 May leaves room for a second, later pour.

Selling online across India?
Pour the launch in two batches rather than one: the first for southern and western buyers at the start of June, the second two to three weeks later for the north. You buy the same oil either way; splitting the pour spreads the cure and keeps your freshest candles going to the customers who are just seeing their first rain.

Cash flow is the reason to split the order in two. The test basket (₹6,264.90) is spent in spring, when your summer range is earning; the launch basket (₹33,114.00) is spent in May, once you know what to make. The cash-flow of stocking all three seasons, with batch sizes, belongs to Bulk Seasonal Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers, and the full three-season plan with reorder points to I Want to Launch Different Candle Collections for Summer, Monsoon and Winter — How Should I Plan My Fragrance Oil Inventory?.

Mistake: ordering monsoon oils when the first rain falls. Fix: an order placed in the second week of June is poured in the third and cured into July; you lose the first month, which is, in our judgement, when a "first rain" candle is most relevant. If you are late, launch with one hero at 8% and add the others as reorders.

The five oils in the monsoon basket

Each oil does one job, so one round of tests tells you which way your customers lean: earthy, fresh, green, café or floral. This is a buying basket, not a ranking; our ranked best-of, with Vetiver, Sage and Cedarwood and Raat Ki Rani, is in Best Fragrance Oils for Monsoon Candles in India. Candle counts are 150 g candles at 8%.

1
earthy · job: the signature "first rain" candle
Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
The only CSI oil built around petrichor: the page describes "fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods, and light musk. Evokes petrichor - the scent of rain on dry earth", states "The recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles" and describes it as "IFRA-certified" (page wording; documents on request). Buying fact: ₹8.96 per gram at every size from 50 g to 1 kg, so the only size decision is how many candles you want. The 15 g is 4.2% dearer per gram than the 50 g. Limitation: it is the most expensive oil in the basket per candle; price the finished candle accordingly.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹140.00 ₹9.33 1
50 g ₹448.00 ₹8.96 4
100 g ₹896.00 ₹8.96 8
500 g ₹4,480.00 ₹8.96 41
1 kg ₹8,960.00 ₹8.96 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹107.52 at any size from 50 g. Buy Gilli Mitti
2
citrus-herbal · job: the rain-fresh air
Verbena Fragrance Oil
The clean, lemony note of air after a shower: the page describes "Crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones" and states "Recommended Fragrance Load: Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". It keeps a monsoon line from becoming all earth. Buying fact: the 1 kg is 28.6% cheaper per gram than the 50 g, a real bulk saving if it becomes a hero. Limitation: the page describes a simple accord with no stated base, so check how long it holds in a closed room.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 g ₹330.40 ₹6.61 4
100 g ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 g ₹2,478.00 ₹4.96 41
1 kg ₹4,720.00 ₹4.72 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹79.30 at 50 g, ₹56.64 at 1 kg. Buy Verbena
3
green garden · job: the rainy-season classic
Citronella Fragrance Oil
A scent many Indian buyers associate with the rainy season. The page lists "Top: Lemon, Lemongrass- Middle: Citronella, Green Herb- Base: Wood" and states "Candles: Perfect for soy, paraffin, and natural wax blends. Use up to 10% for a strong throw." It also states "Phthalate-Free: Yes" (page wording). We sell it as a fragrance, and we make no claims about insects; neither should your label. Buying fact: the pricing has a steep step at 500 g, covered in the next section. Limitation: it reads garden rather than rain, so pair it with an earthy oil.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹141.60 ₹9.44 1
50 g ₹383.50 ₹7.67 4
100 g ₹767.00 ₹7.67 8
500 g ₹1,475.00 ₹2.95 41
1 kg ₹2,891.00 ₹2.89 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹92.04 at 50 g, ₹35.40 at 500 g. Buy Citronella
4
coffee gourmand · job: the rainy-day café candle
Roasted Coffee Fragrance
Monsoon evenings in India mean a hot drink by the window; this is that candle. The page describes "fresh coffee bean top notes, dark chocolate and espresso heart, and a warm vanilla and caramel base" and states "candles (6-10%)". In our judgement it is the basket's broadest-appeal scent, and it is one of its cheapest oils. Buying fact: 500 g is 17.8% cheaper per gram than 50 g. Limitation: it is a café scent, not a rain scent; in a monsoon line it is the comfort option, and its detailed café treatment is in Coffee Shop Fragrance Oils for Candles.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹230.00 ₹4.60 4
100 g ₹390.00 ₹3.90 8
500 g ₹1,890.00 ₹3.78 41
1 kg ₹3,738.00 ₹3.74 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹55.20 at 50 g, ₹45.36 at 500 g. Buy Roasted Coffee
5
white floral · job: the monsoon flower
Jasmine Fragrance Oil
Jasmine is the flower of warm, wet Indian evenings. The page describes it as "sweet, floral, and slightly musky with a timeless luxurious aroma" and states "Recommended load up to 10% soy, up to 6% paraffin". It is a budget white floral: ₹4.60 per gram at 50 g against ₹7.40 for Raat Ki Rani, which has the green-ozone opening Jasmine lacks. Buying fact: 500 g is 14.7% cheaper per gram than 50 g. Limitation: white florals are heady in a closed monsoon room; test 6% as seriously as 8%.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹103.00 ₹6.87 1
50 g ₹230.00 ₹4.60 4
100 g ₹430.00 ₹4.30 8
500 g ₹1,961.00 ₹3.92 41
1 kg ₹3,923.00 ₹3.92 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹55.20 at 50 g, ₹47.06 at 500 g. Buy Jasmine
Only three oils? Gilli Mitti, Citronella and Roasted Coffee at 50 g cost ₹1,061.50: earth, garden and comfort. Want more depth? Add Vetiver from the ranked guide; its 1 kg is out of stock on 24 September 2026, so plan on the 500 g (₹2,900.00).

The Citronella size decision

One oil in this basket breaks the usual advice to buy small first.

Citronella is priced very differently at small and large sizes on 24 September 2026: ₹9.44 per gram at 15 g, ₹7.67 at 50 g and 100 g, then ₹2.95 at 500 g and ₹2.89 at 1 kg. That is a stated price fact; we will not speculate about why. What it means for a buyer:

Citronella by size · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
The 500 g is the break point
Size Price Per gram Oil per 8% candle Candles at 8%
15 g ₹141.60 ₹9.44 ₹113.28 1
50 g ₹383.50 ₹7.67 ₹92.04 4
100 g ₹767.00 ₹7.67 ₹92.04 8
500 g ₹1,475.00 ₹2.95 ₹35.40 41
1 kg ₹2,891.00 ₹2.89 ₹34.69 83

The 500 g is 61.5% cheaper per gram than the 50 g, and saves ₹56.64 of oil per candle. The 100 g is 165% dearer per gram than the 1 kg. Two 100 g bottles (₹1,534.00) cost more than one 500 g for less than half the oil. So the rule for this one oil: test with 50 g (three test candles use ₹276.12 of it), and if it passes, go straight to 500 g. Never buy the 100 g.

Argued against our own interest: it is tempting to skip the test and buy the 500 g because it is "only" ₹1,475.00. Don't, unless you already know you like Citronella in a candle. 41 candles of a scent your customers do not want is not a bargain at any per-gram price. And whatever you pour, keep insect claims off the label: a fragrance oil is sold for its scent.

Three monsoon baskets, priced

Three ways into the monsoon, from a first sniff to a full test. All prices CSI live pricing on 24 September 2026; every item in stock.

Monsoon baskets · three budgets
What each basket costs and what it can prove
Basket What you buy Oil cost Per gram What it can prove
Sniff set 15 g of each of the five ₹584.02 ₹7.79 Which directions you like; one 8% candle per oil
Starter 50 g Gilli Mitti, Citronella, Roasted Coffee ₹1,061.50 — Three loads each of earth, garden and café
Full test (our pick) 50 g of each of the five ₹1,621.90 ₹6.49 Three loads and a retest per oil; which way your buyers lean

The full test costs ₹1,037.88 more than the sniff set, and it is the only one that tells you what load each oil wants. Add the non-oil items for twenty test candles, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 5 kg (₹2,537.00), the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) pack of 20 (₹1,888.00), Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 20 (₹118.00) and a sheet of 40 wick stickers (₹100.00), and the test basket comes to ₹6,264.90, or ₹313.25 per test candle. The non-oil items are ₹4,643.00. We price the 5 kg bag because CSI 464 costs the same per gram at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg, and the 2.2 kg left over after twenty test candles goes into the launch.

Wax and wick for a monsoon test
All five oils state a candle maximum of 10%, which equals CSI 464's stated ceiling, so a 13% wax such as Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 gives no usable headroom here; the lower ceiling governs. C1 is a starting wick, not a prescription: run a melt-pool test in your jar and move to Thick (C2), ₹94.40 for 10, from the Candle Wicks collection if the pool does not reach the edge in two to three hours. Humidity, cure and how to judge monsoon candles are covered in the ranked guide.

The launch basket: 139 candles

A worked example. Swap in your own heroes; keep the size logic.

Assume your tests pick Gilli Mitti, Citronella and Roasted Coffee as heroes, with Verbena and Jasmine as supporting scents. At 8% in a 150 g candle: 500 g makes 41 candles, 100 g makes 8. That is 41 × 3 + 8 × 2 = 139 candles. Wax: 139 × 138 g = 19.18 kg, so two 10 kg bags.

Monsoon launch basket · worked example
139 monsoon candles for ₹33,114.00 in materials
Item Size Price Candles
Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) 500 g ₹4,480.00 41
Citronella Fragrance Oil 500 g ₹1,475.00 41
Roasted Coffee Fragrance 500 g ₹1,890.00 41
Verbena Fragrance Oil 100 g ₹590.00 8
Jasmine Fragrance Oil 100 g ₹430.00 8
Oils 1.7 kg ₹8,865.00 139
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 2 × 10 kg ₹10,148.00 19.18 kg needed
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) 7 × pack of 20 ₹13,216.00 140 jars
Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) pack of 100 + pack of 50 ₹885.00 150 wicks
Launch total ₹33,114.00 ₹238.23 per candle

Gilli Mitti is 51% of the oil spend on its own. That is the price of the signature, and it is why the other two heroes are the two cheapest oils in this basket per gram at 500 g. Per candle, worked example: a Roasted Coffee candle at 8% is 12 g of oil at the 500 g price (₹45.36) + 138 g of CSI 464 at the 10 kg price (₹70.02) + one jar from a pack of 20 (₹94.40) + one C1 wick from the pack of 100 (₹5.90) = ₹215.68. The Gilli Mitti candle is ₹277.84, a gap of ₹62.16 of oil. Both exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. How to turn these into a priced three-season collection is in Seasonal Fragrance Oil Collection for Candle Businesses.

Mistake: buying Gilli Mitti 1 kg (₹8,960.00) "for the season". Fix: the 1 kg costs exactly twice the 500 g, so there is no saving to capture, and 83 candles of the dearest scent in the line is a lot to sell in four months. Buy 500 g, and reorder 500 g in July if it has sold half.

The order-by-May checklist

Seven steps between a finished test and a monsoon shelf. Work through them in the first half of May 2027.

1
Confirm your three heroes and their loadsFrom your day-14 cold sniff and burn notes, not from the bottle. Write the load next to each name.
2
Check stock by size on the dayEvery size of these five oils was in stock on 24 September 2026. Stock changes; check the product pages or ask on WhatsApp before you commit to a stockist date.
3
Apply the size rulesGilli Mitti: 500 g, never 1 kg. Citronella: 500 g, never 100 g. Roasted Coffee, Verbena, Jasmine: 500 g for a hero, 100 g for a supporting scent.
4
Add wax, jars and wicks to the same orderOne order, one delivery. CSI 464 is the same per gram from 1 kg to 10 kg, so buy the bag size that matches your candle count.
5
Ask for a GST invoice and documentsA GST invoice is available. MSDS and IFRA documentation are available on request on WhatsApp; get them before a stockist asks.
6
Ask for a dispatch dateDelivery time depends on your location. Put the dispatch date in your pour plan, then add a 7–14 day cure.
7
Write your reorder rule downAny hero that sells half its launch candles in four weeks gets a 500 g reorder. Nothing is reordered after mid-August.
Launch order by 15 May 2027. The monsoon runs roughly June to September. Send us your three heroes in early May and we will quote the 500 g sizes, wax and jars with a GST invoice and a dispatch date.

The CSI principle
Buy each oil at the size where its price bends.
Some oils get cheaper at 500 g, some at 1 kg, and some never do. Read the ladder before the basket, and the basket builds itself.
"The monsoon order is placed in the hottest month of the year. That is the whole trick."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells every oil, wax, jar and wick in these baskets, and does not sell finished candles. This page tells you not to buy our 1 kg Gilli Mitti, not to buy our 100 g Citronella, and not to buy anything for this year's monsoon in late September.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. All five basket oils were in stock at every size on that date; Vetiver's 1 kg, mentioned as an add-on, was out of stock and is flagged. Candle loads, notes, IFRA and phthalate wording are quoted from each product page.

The order dates, the choice of heroes, the launch split, the cure length and the reorder rule are our judgement and worked examples, not sales data or forecasts. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

When should I order fragrance oils for monsoon candles?
The monsoon runs roughly June to September. Test in March or April and place the launch order by mid-May, so candles are poured and cured before the rains arrive.
How much do monsoon candle fragrance oils cost in India?
At CSI on 24 September 2026, the five-oil monsoon set at 50 g (Gilli Mitti, Verbena, Citronella, Roasted Coffee, Jasmine) is ₹1,621.90. At 8% in a 150 g candle the oil costs from ₹34.69 (Citronella at 1 kg; ₹35.40 at 500 g) to ₹107.52 (Gilli Mitti at any size).
Is citronella fragrance oil cheaper in bulk?
Yes, sharply at 500 g: ₹2.95 per gram against ₹7.67 at 50 g and 100 g. The 500 g costs ₹1,475.00 and makes 41 candles at 8%. Test with 50 g first, then skip straight to 500 g.
Should I buy Gilli Mitti fragrance oil in 1 kg?
Not for a first monsoon. It costs ₹8.96 per gram at every size from 50 g to 1 kg, so the 1 kg saves nothing. Buy 500 g (₹4,480.00, 41 candles at 8%) and reorder if it sells.
What wax is best for monsoon candles?
For these five oils, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (up to 10%) matches every oil page's stated maximum, so a 13% wax adds no usable headroom. Whatever wax you use, cure lidded in a closed box in humid weather.
Can I order fragrance oils with a GST invoice from CSI?
Yes. A GST invoice is available, and MSDS and IFRA documentation are available on request on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Editorial standards & sources
About this guide: the monsoon buying page in CSI's seasonal India cluster. It prices a five-oil monsoon test set, three baskets and a 139-candle launch basket, and dates the order plan for the 2027 monsoon. It does not rank monsoon oils (see the monsoon best-of guide), and it makes no insect-related claims for any oil.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on the product pages named on each card — Gilli Mitti (Patchouli), Jasmine Fragrance Oil, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 ( Flakes Form) For Container Candles, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks for Jar / Container Candles, Roasted Coffee Fragrance. They are general product reviews, not assessments of the buying advice on this page. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me and wording is unedited. "Verified buyer" appears only on reviews Judge.me recorded as verified — Renu, Arminder Kaur, Jaya Sawlani, Jinal Patel. The reviews from S.A., R.G. are published but not recorded as verified, and carry no badge. Reviews below five stars are included as published, not filtered out.

Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are floor(grams ÷ 12). Wax ceilings (CSI 464 up to 10%, CSI 468 up to 13%) are as stated on the wax pages and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Basket and per-candle costs are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. The southwest monsoon (roughly June–September) and Diwali (8 November 2026) are calendar facts, not forecasts. The order plan, hero choice, launch split, cure length and reorder rule are editorial judgement.
