I Want a Candle Collection That Appeals to Customers Who Like Traditional Indian Fragrance Profiles — Which Scent Families Should I Explore?
शेयर करना
Which will my customers actually buy? Unknown, and this guide will not pretend otherwise. There is no sales or preference data behind any of these pages. A collection is defensible when its oils are genuinely different from one another — which can be shown from the pages' own note pyramids — and when you have tested it on your own buyers.
Where should I start if I can only buy one of each? The 15g rung. Rajnigandha ₹90, Sandalwood ₹93.22, Woody Oud ₹93.22, British Rose ₹94.40, Jasmine ₹103 and Gilli Mitti ₹140 — ₹613.84 for six bottles and six real candles.
What is not available? Mogra Fragrance Oil is fully sold out and so is Regal Royal Oud, so neither can anchor a collection today. Sacred Sandal Ember is in stock only at 500g, and Royal Oud only at 500g and 1 kg. Check the product page before you plan around any of them.
The six profile groups, defined by their own product pages
The reason this question is usually answered badly is that "traditional Indian fragrance" gets treated as a single category, as though one oil could serve it. It cannot. The six groups below differ in note structure, in cost, in how they behave in white wax, and in what room a buyer would put the candle in. Everything quoted here is the product page's own wording — not an interpretation, not a performance claim.
One. Jasmine and mogra-type white florals. The anchor of the group is Jasmine Fragrance Oil, whose page gives a single-note profile rather than a three-tier pyramid: main aroma "sweet, floral, and exotic jasmine — rich and timeless", undertone "subtle musk — warm, slightly indolic depth that makes the jasmine feel real", scent family "Floral / Exotic / Sweet". It states a soy load of up to 10% with a 48 to 72 hour cure, up to 6% in paraffin, 0% vanillin and no discolouration, and a measured flashpoint of 185°C. Beside it, Raat Ki Rani is the same material pushed darker: top notes of "green stems, fresh ozone", middle of "night-blooming jasmine, white florals", base of "soft amber, musk", with a stated 6–10% candle load. The page for Mogra Fragrance Oil is listed but fully sold out, which matters if your plan was to build a pooja range around mogra specifically.
Two. Rose. British Rose is the most completely documented oil in this entire map: a single-note profile of "fresh, dewy roses with subtle green and soft floral undertones", scent family "Floral — soft, romantic, refined", soy load up to 10% with a 48 to 72 hour cure, paraffin up to 6%, 0% vanillin with no discolouration or yellowing in wax, and a measured flashpoint of 192°C. Its own candle-maker's tip suggests pairing it with sandalwood "for a refined, slightly warmer" blend, which is a legitimate route into group three. At the other end, Smoked Rose Royale takes rose into bakhoor territory: "dark rose petals" over a "smoky bakhoor accord, soft spice" and a base of "amber, musk, warm woody undertones".
Three. Sandalwood and santal. Four in-stock oils and the widest cost spread of any group. Sandalwood Fragrance Oil states "warm, creamy sandalwood — smooth, rich, and sophisticated" with a "subtle earthy depth" undertone, family "Woody / Creamy / Warm", soy up to 10%, 0% vanillin, flashpoint 203°C. Santal Noir builds a full pyramid around the same heart — "soft spice, subtle green accord" on top, "creamy sandalwood, light cedar" in the heart, "warm amber, musk, dry woods" at the base. Mint Sandalwood is a perfume-grade listing with a stated candle load of 7–10%, starting at 7%. Sacred Sandal Ember is in stock only at 500g.
Four. Tuberose and gardenia. Rajnigandha (Tuberose) publishes a three-tier pyramid — "dewy greens, crisp apple" on top, "creamy tuberose, jasmine, ylang ylang" in the middle, "soft musk, sandalwood" at the base — and a stated load of 6–10% for candles and 10–15% for wax melts. Gardenia Fragrance Oil is a single-note gardenia described as "softer and creamier than jasmine, more velvety than rose", soy up to 10%, and it carries two working facts worth copying into your notes: vanillin content 0.2% with minimal discolouration risk, and a flashpoint of 98°C with the page's own instruction to add it to wax below that temperature. That is the lowest flash point in this map by a wide margin and it changes your pour routine.
Five. Wet-earth mitti. One oil, no substitute. Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) states top notes of "fresh rain, soft soil — the immediate, nostalgic hit of petrichor", a middle of "earthy patchouli — natural, grounding, botanical depth", a base of "damp woods, light musk", and a family of "Earthy / Petrichor / Grounding". Its usage guide is unusually specific: 6–10% of total wax weight, with 6–7% for a subtle earthy background and 9–10% for a bold petrichor presence. It is also the second-dearest oil in the map at ₹132.61 of oil per candle.
Six. Incense, bakhoor and oud. The largest group at five in-stock oils and the one where a single word covers very different structures. Woody Oud states "citrus, spicy notes" on top, "exotic oud, patchouli" in the middle, "woody notes, amber, musk" at the base, family "Oriental / Woody / Exotic", soy 6–10% with a 48 to 72 hour cure and paraffin 6–8%. White Royal Oud goes the other way — "bergamot, saffron" over "white royal oud, rose petals, labdanum" and a base of "creamy sandalwood, ambergris, soft musk", with a stated 6–10% candle load and 6–7% for a refined, hotel-lobby quality warmth. Midnight Bakhoor Royale is the incense-forward one: "spiced incense accord" over "oud wood, smoky resin" and "amber, musk, balsamic warmth". Dark Vanilla Oud bridges into gourmand with "rich vanilla, spicy cardamom" on top. Royal Oud is in stock at 500g and 1 kg only.
All sixteen in-stock oils, mapped and priced
One table, six groups, every oil CSI lists in this map with at least one rung in stock. The price column is the smallest in-stock rung, because that is what a first exploration actually buys, and the per-candle column uses the 100g rung where one exists so the oils are comparable. Where an oil's smallest in-stock rung is 500g, that is stated plainly — it means the oil cannot be trialled cheaply.

Four oils that cover four of the six groups
If you are building a first Indian-profile set and want maximum distance between the candles rather than maximum breadth, these four cover the white floral, the rose, the creamy wood and the wet earth. Each card shows the full pack ladder so you can see which of them rewards a bigger bottle and which does not — and on this store, several do not.

What is sold out, part-listed, or not listed at all
A map is only useful if it shows the holes. Four of them matter for anyone planning an Indian-profile collection, and all four are things you should know before you design a label rather than after.
| What you wanted | Status | Nearest listed alternative | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mogra specifically | Mogra Fragrance Oil is listed at ₹642 for 100g but fully sold out | Jasmine ₹430/100g, or Raat Ki Rani ₹700/100g | Jasmine's page describes an indolic musk undertone; the Mogra page described a green-citrus top over a rich jasmine heart. Not interchangeable — relabel rather than substitute silently |
| A cheap santal to trial | Sacred Sandal Ember is in stock only at 500g ₹3,999; Santal Noir's 15g rung is ₹166, the dearest 15g in the map | Sandalwood 15 gm ₹93.22 | You can trial the creamy-sandalwood idea for ₹93.22 and only then decide whether a darker santal is worth ₹166 or ₹3,999 |
| A second mitti or petrichor oil | Not listed. Gilli Mitti is the only oil in this group | No alternative in the range | If gilli mitti becomes a core SKU you have single-oil exposure on it; plan your reorder point accordingly rather than assuming a substitute exists |
| A fragrance pack above 1 kg | Not listed on any oil. 1 kg is the largest listed fragrance pack | Two or more 1 kg bottles, or a WhatsApp quote | Listed per-kilo prices are the ceiling for listed packs; anything larger is quoted, and no figure for it is published here |
The six-bottle, six-candle trial ladder
The elegant thing about the 15g rung is the arithmetic. At 8% of a 185g wax fill, one 200g candle takes 14.8g of oil — so a 15g bottle is one candle, with 0.2g to spare. Not a sniff test, not a sample on a card: one real, cured, wicked, burnable candle per bottle. Six bottles, one from each group, is six candles and ₹613.84.
| Group | Oil · 15g rung | Per gram at 15g | Candles from the bottle | If it earns 100g |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tuberose / gardenia | Rajnigandha ₹90 | ₹6.00 | 1 | ₹500 · ₹74.00 a candle |
| Sandalwood / santal | Sandalwood ₹93.22 | ₹6.21 | 1 | ₹502.68 · ₹74.40 a candle |
| Incense / bakhoor / oud | Woody Oud ₹93.22 | ₹6.21 | 1 | ₹453.12 · ₹67.06 a candle |
| Rose | British Rose ₹94.40 | ₹6.29 | 1 | ₹342.20 · ₹50.65 a candle |
| Jasmine / mogra-type | Jasmine ₹103 | ₹6.87 | 1 | ₹430 · ₹63.64 a candle |
| Mitti / petrichor | Gilli Mitti ₹140 | ₹9.33 | 1 | ₹896 · ₹132.61 a candle |
| Six-group basket | ₹613.84 | avg ₹6.82 | 6 candles | ₹3,124 for all six at 100g |
Scaling the two or three that earn it
Six trial candles will not tell you what sells, but they will tell you what is sellable: which oils burned cleanly, which discoloured your wax, which needed a different wick, and which still smelled of something after fourteen days. That is the gate. Past the gate, the question becomes months of cover, and here the arithmetic is the same for every oil in the map because they all consume 14.8g a candle.
| Rung | Candles | 15 candles/month | 30/month | 50/month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15 gm | 1 | Trial only | Trial only | Trial only |
| 50 gm | 3 | 0.23 months | 0.11 | 0.07 |
| 100 gm | 6 | 0.45 months | 0.23 | 0.14 |
| 500 gm | 33 | 2.25 months | 1.13 | 0.68 |
| 1 kg (largest listed) | 67 | 4.50 months | 2.25 | 1.35 |
Set your reorder point from your own lead time, not from anyone else's. The arithmetic is monthly usage ÷ 30 × your observed lead-time days, plus whatever safety stock lets you sleep. At 30 candles a month of one scent that is 444g a month, so a 14-day lead time means reordering when about 207g remain — which on a 500 gm bottle is roughly 40% full. Write that figure on the bottle in marker the day it arrives. CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. That is exactly why this page maps and prices the range instead of telling you which Indian profile is in demand. We do not see your customers, we hold no preference data, and the easiest way to lose you as a customer would be to talk you into a kilo of an oil your buyers do not want. Six 15g bottles earn us ₹613.84. A kilo of Gilli Mitti earns us ₹8,960. We are recommending the ₹613.84.
Every price, pack size, note pyramid, load and flash point on this page is quoted from live CSI stock and published product-page text in September 2026, and each oil links to its page where current pricing and availability take precedence. Where a page states no candle percentage — Santal Noir, Smoked Rose Royale, Midnight Bakhoor Royale and Sacred Sandal Ember among them — the table says so rather than borrowing a figure from a similar oil, because a silent page is not permission. Where a page contradicts itself, as the Sandalwood page does on having the range's highest flash point, we publish the measured number and drop the superlative.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me; two longer reviews are shortened with an ellipsis and otherwise unedited.
Figures verified September 2026: planning basis — a 200g single-wick container candle, 185g wax fill, fragrance at 8% of total wax weight = 14.8g of oil; the alternative convention, 8% of a 200g finished candle = 16g oil + 184g wax, gives about 8% more oil. Jar capacities on most CSI jars are stated in millilitres rather than grams, so confirm your fill by weighing one filled jar. Allow 3–5% wax and oil loss for spills and top-ups when planning a run; that allowance is not in the per-candle figures. 15 gm rungs used: Rajnigandha ₹90, Sandalwood ₹93.22, Woody Oud ₹93.22, British Rose ₹94.40, Jasmine ₹103, Gardenia ₹105.02, Dark Vanilla Oud ₹105.02, Raat Ki Rani ₹130, White Royal Oud ₹130, Gilli Mitti ₹140, Santal Noir ₹166 — six-bottle basket ₹613.84. 100g rungs used: British Rose ₹342.20, Jasmine ₹430, Gardenia ₹433, Woody Oud ₹453.12, Rajnigandha ₹500, Sandalwood ₹502.68, Mint Sandalwood ₹549 (50g ₹299), Dark Vanilla Oud ₹590, Raat Ki Rani ₹700, Smoked Rose Royale ₹799, Midnight Bakhoor Royale ₹799, White Royal Oud ₹810, Gilli Mitti ₹896, Santal Noir ₹919. 500 g / 1 kg rungs used: Jasmine 500 gm ₹1,961 and 1 kg ₹3,923; British Rose 500 gm ₹1,593 and 1 kg ₹3,068; Sandalwood 500 gm ₹2,513.40 and 1 kg ₹5,026.80; Gilli Mitti 500 gm ₹4,480 and 1 kg ₹8,960; Royal Oud 500 g ₹3,300 and 1 kg ₹6,400; Sacred Sandal Ember 500g ₹3,999; Saffron Cedarwood 500 gm ₹2,584.20 and 1 kg ₹6,867.60; Gardenia 1000 gm ₹4,332. Wax used in the trial: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 1 kg ₹507.40, 500 g ₹260, stated load up to 10%. Mogra Fragrance Oil (listed at ₹642) and Regal Royal Oud are listed but have no rung in stock. Stated specifications as published on product pages: Jasmine soy up to 10% cure 48–72 hours, paraffin up to 6%, wax melts up to 12%, vanillin 0%, flashpoint 185°C; British Rose soy up to 10% cure 48–72 hours, paraffin up to 6%, vanillin 0%, flashpoint 192°C; Sandalwood soy up to 10% cure 48–72 hours, wax melts up to 12%, vanillin 0%, flashpoint 203°C (the same page's claim that this is the highest in the range is contradicted by Vetiver at 206°C and is not repeated here); Gardenia soy up to 10%, paraffin up to 6%, vanillin 0.2%, flashpoint 98°C with the page's instruction to add below that temperature; Woody Oud soy 6–10% cure 48–72 hours, paraffin 6–8%; Gilli Mitti 6–10% of total wax weight, 6–7% subtle / 9–10% bold; Rajnigandha and Raat Ki Rani 6–10% candles and 10–15% wax melts; White Royal Oud candles 6–10% with 6–7% for refined warmth; Mint Sandalwood candles 7–10% starting at 7%. Loads are formulation limits, not regulatory limits; where an oil and a wax both state a range, the lower governs, and a page that states nothing is not permission. Cure of 14–21 days for soy containers is standard practice. Months-of-cover and reorder figures assume the stated monthly volume is for a single scent and use your own observed lead time, which CSI does not state. 1 kg is the largest listed fragrance pack; larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp and no figure for them appears here. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
