CSI Wick Decisions · Wholesale Spec
Our Eco wick page states no length, width or tab size. So the specification for 5,000 wicks is the sample that passed: named exactly, measured by you, kept sealed, and compared with every pack.

5,000 Eco C2 wicks, as five 1,000-packs or ten 500-packs · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
My wick sample works perfectly. Should I request the same specification for a 5,000-piece wholesale order? Yes, but you'll have to write the specification yourself. CSI's Eco wick page states no length, width, tab size or jar range, so "the same spec" means the exact listing and variant ("Eco Candle Wicks", "Thick (C2) / 1000 Wicks" × 5) plus your own measurements of the approved sample, and a retained sample to compare against.

What do I ask CSI? On WhatsApp: the lot number(s) of the packs that will ship, whether all 5,000 can come from one lot, and whether 10 wicks from the shipping lot can come first. We'll answer honestly; we can't promise one lot or a pre-shipment sample on every order.

Do I test anything before ordering? A second-pack check: one more C2 10-pack (₹94.40, 0.2% of the order), 10 wicks measured against your retained sample. If anything differs, burn 3 + 3 candles before you order 5,000.

What does 5,000 cost? Eco C2 ₹47,200.00; Eco C1 ₹29,500.00; Cotton Braided ₹60,000.00. Same per wick at every pack size, so ten 500-packs cost the same as five 1,000-packs.
The short answer
Name it exactly: listing, variant, pack size, quantity, link. "Eco wicks" or "C2" alone is how wrong wicks get ordered.
Describe it yourself: median and range of length from 10 measured wicks, tab size and crimp, photos beside a ruler, and the attachment you approved with. CSI pages publish none of this.
Ask, don't assume: lot numbers, one lot or several, 10 wicks from the shipping lot first. On WhatsApp; answers, not promises.
Check before and after: a second-pack check before ordering; on arrival, packs quarantined until they match your retained sample (the lot-comparison method).
The specification you write, line by line Worked example: 5,000 Eco C2. CSI pages state no wick dimensions, so most lines are yours. from the CSI page you measure and record ask CSI (no promise) WICK PURCHASE SPEC · 5,000 pcs · worked example Product Eco Candle Wicks | Eco Wicks for Candle Making Variant and pack Thick (C2) / 1000 Wicks × 5 (or 500 Wicks × 10) Price ₹9,440.00 a pack · ₹9.44 a wick · ₹47,200.00 in all Link /products/eco-candle-wicks-eco-wicks-for-candle-making Overall length median ___ mm, range ___–___ mm (10 wicks) Tab and crimp tab ___ mm across; crimp tight, wick upright Appearance photo IDs beside a ruler, same light Attachment how you fix the tab (e.g. wick sticker) Retained sample approved-pack spares, sealed bag REF-____ Lot lot number(s) on the packs shipped One lot? can all 5,000 come from one lot? Open squares are what only you can record, because the page states no dimensions: length, tab, appearance, attachment and your retained sample. Below: what happens when the order arrives. The blanks are yours to fill from your own sample.
Straight answer
My wick sample works perfectly. Should I request the same specification when moving to a 5,000-piece wholesale wick order?
Yes, and you'll need to write that specification yourself, because there isn't a published one to quote. CSI's Eco wick page gives a listing name, two variants (Thin C1 and Thick C2), pack sizes and prices, and describes the wicks as "crafted from natural fibers like cotton and paper"; it states no length, width, tab size or jar range. So "request the same specification" means three things. Name the product exactly: "Eco Candle Wicks | Eco Wicks for Candle Making", variant "Thick (C2) / 1000 Wicks", quantity 5, with the link. Describe the sample that passed in your own numbers: length as median and range of 10 wicks, tab size and crimp, photos beside a ruler, the attachment you used, and a retained, sealed sample with a reference number. Ask, in writing, what you can't see: the lot number(s) of the packs that will ship, whether 5,000 can come from one lot, and whether 10 wicks from the shipping lot can be sent first. We'll answer on WhatsApp honestly; we can't promise one lot or a pre-shipment sample on every order. Then check twice: a second small pack against your retained sample before you order, and every pack against it when the order arrives.
One line: order by exact listing and variant, describe the approved sample in your own measurements, ask for lot information in writing, and release nothing until it matches your retained sample.
Before the 5,000: one more Eco C2 10-pack (₹94.40) for the second-pack check, 0.2% of the order. Then 5,000 C2 at ₹47,200.00, in 1,000s or 500s at the same ₹9.44 a wick. In stock on 7 October 2026; ask us on WhatsApp for lot and dispatch.
Eco C2 10-pack — ₹94.40

Your order, made precise

The sample passed. Now you're buying 500 times as many wicks, from whatever lot is on the shelf.

The worked example, labelled: your candle is a 200 g single-wick soy candle at 8% (16 g of oil and 184 g of wax) in your own jar. The wick that passed six full-life replicates is Eco C2, bought as a 10-pack some weeks ago. You now want 5,000 wicks: a year's production, or 2,500 double-wick candles (2,500). The candles passed because of that sample; the question is how to make sure 5,000 wicks behave like it.

This post owns the order: what to write, what to ask, and the checks either side of paying. How to compare a delivered lot against your sample, with limits and a side-by-side burn, is 6994. The master formula that tells purchasing which wick to reorder is 6996; how much to order at a time is 6999.

Safety first, plainly: a wick that differs from the one you approved can burn taller, sootier or hotter. If any candle made with a new pack smokes continuously, burns with a flame approaching the glass or close to the base, stop it, record it, and quarantine the pack. Never judge glass heat by touch; use your own non-contact thermometer (CSI lists none). No specification makes a candle "safe" or "soot-free"; it makes the next candle like the one you tested.

What CSI states, what you measure, what you ask

If the page doesn't say it, the specification has to.

Read the last column as the specification. It's short, deliberately: length, tab, appearance, attachment and lot are the things you can check on a pack with a ruler, a phone camera and ten minutes. You don't need a lab to write a useful wick specification; you need a record of the wick that passed and the discipline to compare against it.

Argued against our own interest: we'd like to hand you a data sheet with a tolerance on every dimension. We don't have one to publish, and we won't invent one. That's why your retained sample matters more than our page: it is the only physical record of the wick your candles were approved on. The general case, comparing two suppliers' wicks properly, is what to record beyond melt-pool diameter; why two wicks with the same length and apparent thickness can still burn differently is the same length and thickness, but different burn.

Why "the same wick" can arrive different: causes, ranked

Most wrong-wick problems start at the order form, not the factory.

Ranked by how often, in our judgement, each one turns an approved sample into a different production wick. Some are on the buyer's side, some on the material's; signs are common observations, not CSI data.

Cause ranking · approved sample, different bulk wick
Purchasing and handling (your side) separated from material (the wick) and formulation (the candle) · ₹ CSI live pricing, 7 October 2026
Cause What you'd see Discriminating test Fix Cost
1. Wrong variant ordered (purchasing) C1 delivered for C2, or the reverse; candles tunnel or burn tall Pack label against your spec line "Thick (C2) / 1000 Wicks" Full variant name on every order and invoice check Nothing
2. Different product with a similar name (purchasing) A "C2" from another supplier, or a different CSI wick bought "because it's cheaper" Listing name and link against the spec Only the approved listing; anything else is a new wick to test (an equivalent size from another supplier) Nothing
3. Different lot (material) Length, tab or braid look slightly different; flame a little taller or mushroom bigger 10 wicks per pack against the retained sample; 3 + 3 candles if it differs Ask about lots; quarantine until compared (6994) ₹94.40 for a check pack
4. Handling and storage (your side) Bent wicks, crushed tabs, damp or dusty packs after months in a warm store Inspect on opening; compare with sealed packs Keep packs sealed, dry and flat; open one at a time Nothing
5. Different attachment (production) Tabs lifting or leaning in some candles Tab position in spent candles Attachment written into the spec; sticker sheets bought with the wicks ₹2.50 a wick for stickers
6. The candle changed, not the wick (formulation) New oil lot, new jar batch or a load change at the same time as the new wicks Change one thing at a time; compare with the retained wick in the new candle Change control (6988) Nothing

Causes 1, 2 and 4 are entirely on the buyer's side, and they're the commonest. C1 and C2 sit on one listing, one click apart: a specification that says "Eco wicks, 5,000" is an invitation to the wrong one. Cause 3 is the one a specification can't remove, only detect, which is why the retained sample and the arrival check exist. Cause 6 is the one people forget: if the oil lot changed in the same week as the wicks, a difference in the candle tells you nothing about the wick.

Packing Packs sealed as supplied; lot on each pack if possible Lets you open and check one pack at a time
Documents GST invoice; dispatch date Paper trail for the lot

Two notes on the order itself. Pack size: because C2 is ₹9.44 a wick at every pack, ten 500-packs (₹47,200.00) cost exactly the same as five 1,000-packs; smaller sealed packs are easier to keep clean and to quarantine one at a time, so choose them if you prefer. One order or several: one order gives the best chance of fewer lots (we can't promise one); several orders keep cash free. That trade-off, with safety stock, is 6998; the counting is 6999.

Don't do this. Don't order "C2" or "Eco wicks" without the variant and pack in full. Don't use up the approved sample in production: keep the approved pack's spare wicks sealed as your reference, and add 20 from the first production pack you release (6995). Don't accept a "same size" wick from anyone, including a different CSI wick, as the same specification. Don't open all five packs on day one; check and use them one at a time. And don't change your oil, jar or load in the same month as a new wick lot, or you won't know which change did what.

Two checks: before you order and before it ships

A small pack now and ten wicks before dispatch are cheaper than 5,000 wrong ones.

Both checks compare against the same thing: the spare wicks left in your approved sample pack, sealed, labelled and never used in production. A C2 10-pack that wicked six replicates leaves four: enough to measure, and enough for one 3 + 3 burn. If you've already used the whole sample, the second-pack check below becomes your reference, but only after you've compared it against your approval candles' records.

1
Measure the retained sample10 wicks: overall length to the nearest mm, tab size, crimp (does the wick stand upright?), a photo of each beside a ruler in the same light. Write the median and the range. This is the specification you'll quote.
2
Before ordering: a second-pack checkBuy one Eco C2 10-pack (₹94.40), measure all ten the same way. Same median and range, same tab, same look: order the 5,000. Anything different: burn 3 + 3 candles first (step 4).
3
When ordering: send the spec and the questionsThe order message above on WhatsApp. If CSI can send 10 wicks from the shipping lot first, measure them as in step 1 before the rest dispatches.
4
If anything differs: a 3 + 3 check burn6 candles, 200 g at 8%, poured together from one lot of wax and oil: three on retained wicks, three on the new wicks. Burn in 4-hour sessions in still air and compare flame, mushroom, pool and soot at hours 1–4 of each session, to the end of the jar. The full method and limits are 6994.
5
On arrival: quarantine every packSealed, labelled with date and lot, kept apart from released stock. Measure 10 wicks from the first pack you'll open; release it only if it matches.
6
Retain from the new lot20 wicks from each newly opened pack, sealed and labelled, so the next order has a reference too.
The release rule (ours, labelled)
A pack is released when its 10 measured wicks fall inside the range you recorded for the approved sample, plus a tolerance you set in advance (for example 2 mm on length), with the same tab and appearance. If any measure falls outside, the pack stays in quarantine until a 3 + 3 burn shows the new wicks inside every written limit in the top, middle and bottom thirds, and no worse than the retained wicks. An in-house protocol, not an industry standard.

The CSI wick buy list for 5,000

Same per wick at every pack. Choose packs for handling, not for price.

CSI's sized, tabbed wicks are three rungs, C1 → C2 → Cotton Braided, plus one wooden width. There's no sized, tabbed wick between the rungs, and no published dimension for C1 or C2. If you approved a wick from another supplier and want "the same" from us, that isn't a reorder: it's a new wick, and it needs its own replicates. Ask us on WhatsApp what we stock, and we'll say plainly what we don't.

5,000 wicks · CSI packs and ₹
Per wick = pack price ÷ wicks · Eco C1 10-pack out of stock on 7 October 2026 (not needed here) · quantities beyond listed packs, lots and dispatch: ask on WhatsApp
Approved wick Check pack 5,000 as ₹ Per wick
Eco C2 (worked example) 10-pack ₹94.40 5 × 1,000 or 10 × 500 ₹47,200.00 ₹9.44
Eco C1 20-pack ₹118.00 5 × 1,000 or 10 × 500 ₹29,500.00 ₹5.90
Cotton Braided 10-pack ₹120.00 5 × 1,000 or 10 × 500 ₹60,000.00 ₹12.00
Performance Wooden 10-pack ₹590.00 50 × 100 (largest pack listed) ₹2,06,500.00 ₹41.30

Argued against our own interest: nothing in this table rewards a bigger order. C1, C2 and Cotton Braided cost the same per wick whether you buy 10 or 5,000, so 5,000 at once only makes sense if you'll use them before your next reorder and you value fewer lots. And if your approved wick is C2, the C1 version would save ₹17,700.00 on 5,000, but only a full replicate test could tell you whether C1 works in your jar; the saving is never the reason. Wooden is the one tabbed wick that's cheaper in bulk (₹59.00 in 10s, ₹41.30 in 100s), and we list no pack larger than 100.

Diwali is 8 November 2026, 32 days from 7 October 2026. Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) and Thick (C2)
C1 and C2 are variants of one listing, which is exactly why the variant belongs on your order in full: "Thick (C2) / 1000 Wicks", not "Eco wicks". In the text we captured the page says the wicks are "crafted from natural fibers like cotton and paper", claims "minimal soot or smoke", and states no length, width, tab size or jar range. So the specification that protects you is your own record of the sample that passed. Argued against our own interest: 5,000 C2 costs ₹47,200.00 as five 1,000-packs or ten 500-packs, the same ₹9.44 a wick; the 500s are easier to keep sealed and open one at a time.

Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
The only CSI tabbed wick whose page states a dimension: "Height of the wick is 10.16 cm". That gives you something to check every pack against, alongside "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm". 5,000 is ₹60,000.00 as five 1,000-packs or ten 500-packs (₹60,000.00), ₹12.00 a wick either way. Limitation: one stated height isn't a full specification; measure your approved sample anyway, because a page figure describes the product, not the lot in your hands.

Candle Wick Stickers
If your approved candles were wicked with a sticker, the sticker is part of the specification: a different adhesive can let a tab lift or lean, and a leaning wick fails for the wrong reason. The page describes "10mm Candle Wick Round Stickers". The 40-sticker sheet is ₹100.00 (₹2.50 a sticker); the 100-sticker sheet is out of stock on 7 October 2026. For 5,000 wicks that's 125 sheets, ₹12,500.00. Argued against our own interest: at that volume, ₹2.50 a candle is a real line in your costing; if you approved with another fixing method, keep it, and don't switch to ours without a check burn.

wick · cut to length · not a substitute
Braided Wick Roll with 100 wick tabs (61 meters)
Listed here so you don't reach for it by mistake. It is "a long spool of braided cotton wick", and the page says "You can cut the wick to the desired length", so the length is yours to set, which is tempting when you want control over the specification. But it is a different construction from the Eco wick that passed, so it is a new wick needing its own replicates, not "the same specification, cheaper". With 100 tabs in the roll, it is ₹7.07 per tabbed wick. Limitation: 61 m makes 406 pieces at a 15 cm worked-example length, but only 100 tabs.
Listing Price Per tabbed wick Note
61 m with 100 tabs ₹706.82 ₹7.07 per tabbed wick; 406 pieces of 15 cm, only 100 tabs
A different wick, not a bulk version. View roll — ₹706.82

Skip for now: a cheaper or "equivalent" wick at order time; the braided roll as a stand-in for a tabbed wick; any change of oil, jar or load in the same month as the new lot; and the full 5,000 before the second-pack check, if your approved sample is long gone.

The CSI principle
The specification is the wick that passed. Name it exactly, measure it, keep some, and make every pack prove it matches.
Exact listing and variant; your own length, tab and photos; retained wicks from every approved pack; lot questions in writing; quarantine on arrival. 5,000 C2: ₹47,200.00.
"A wick order that says 'same as last time' is a guess. One that says what last time measured is a specification."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the wicks and stickers named here, not finished candles. This page still tells you that our wick pages publish no dimensions, that we can't promise one lot or a pre-shipment sample, that a bigger order buys no per-wick saving, and that you should check a second small pack before you buy 5,000 from us.

Every CSI price was checked on the live store on 7 October 2026, with stock checked per pack: the Eco C1 10-pack and the 100-sticker sheet are out of stock and not offered. Page wording is quoted and attributed, including the Eco page's "natural fibers like cotton and paper", the Cotton Braided page's "Height of the wick is 10.16 cm" and "exceeding 8 cm", and the stickers' "10mm" size.

The 5,000-wick order, the 200 g candle, ten measured wicks, the 2 mm tolerance, 20 wicks retained per production pack and the 15 cm cut length are labelled worked examples or our judgement. How do I make sure a bulk wick order matches my sample?
Order the exact listing, variant and pack; record your sample's length, tab and appearance; keep a sealed retained sample; ask for lot information in writing; and quarantine every pack until it matches the retained wicks.
What are the dimensions of CSI Eco C2 wicks?
The page states none in the text we captured: no length, width, tab size or jar range. Measure your own approved sample; Cotton Braided is the only CSI tabbed wick whose page states a height (10.16 cm).
Can I ask a supplier for wicks from the same lot?
You can ask, and you should, in writing. At CSI, ask on WhatsApp; we'll tell you what we can, but we can't promise one lot for every order.
Is a 5,000-piece wick order cheaper per wick?
Not for CSI's Eco C1, C2 or Cotton Braided: the price per wick is the same at every pack. 5,000 C2 cost ₹47,200.00 as five 1,000-packs or ten 500-packs.
Should I test a new batch of wicks before using them?
Measure every new pack against your retained sample before release, and burn 3 + 3 candles side by side if anything differs. Never assume a new lot is identical.
Can I switch to a cheaper wick for a large order?
Only after it passes its own replicate tests. A different wick, from us or anyone else, is a new specification, not a cheaper version of the approved one.
Sample approved · 5,000 to order
Name it exactly, measure the sample, keep some, ask about lots, and check every pack.
Second-pack check ₹94.40; 5,000 Eco C2 ₹47,200.00. Send us your specification on WhatsApp before you pay; we'll answer the lot and dispatch questions honestly, and say what we can't promise.

About this guide: part of CSI's cluster on moving from a failed wick to the correct CSI wick and a bulk purchase (6981–7000). It covers how to specify a 5,000-piece wholesale wick order so it matches an approved sample: what CSI pages state and don't, causes of a "same wick" arriving different, the order message line by line, a second-pack check and a pre-shipment check with a release rule, and a 5,000-wick buy list.

Non-price figures: "5,000-piece" is the reader's figure (title). The 200 g candle at 8% (16 g oil + 184 g wax, total-weight basis) is the series default, labelled. Ten measured wicks, a 2 mm length tolerance, 20 wicks retained per production pack, 3 + 3 check candles and a 15 cm cut length are labelled worked examples or our judgement; the release rule is an in-house protocol. CSI publishes no wick dimensions (except Cotton Braided's stated height), no lot data and no lead times. Costs exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Diwali 8 November 2026 is a calendar fact.
